Would give 5 stars but...

So I would say it’s a “my device thing” but now I’m fully convinced it’s an app thing. First off I’m using a brand new iPad Pro and when I use VectorSVGMaker on my phone I’m using an iPhone 11. VectorSVGMaker from the beginning, I thought, this is amazing! Especially if you are staring off in the design world or just want a different creative outlet other than freehand drawing.
Here’s where the issues arise... yes sometimes your work gets deleted as some other reviews have said. it happened more before (a couple months ago) than it does now but it will show up on the preview page and when you open it the meltdown inside of you starts because you have lost potentially hours of work. But recently the worst thing happened. I spent 6 hours on a project.. and on that 6th hour VectorSVGMaker crashed, ok.. weird, no problem just reboot it. Keeps crashing every time I try to open that project. I have tried everything to get this project back but it’s unreachable. IT WONT STOP CRASHING. I’m so devastated because I forgivingly started another project today thinking it was just a glitch on that one thing I was doing and it did it again, another project that I can’t touch. I paid for a whole year for an app that I can’t even use. So disappointed and heartbroken. I was using this to create art for my business and now I have to find something else.

Assembly

If you take the time to discover its almost limitless possibilities, you will have trouble putting your iPad down. Not only are there hundreds of shapes to start with, the shapes are almost infinitely changeable. The learning curve is a little steep: you have to tap everything before moving it. You have to figure out how to move, as opposed to change, a shape. The rules of play are initially a little strict: you can’t really draw your own objects from scratch, you can’t paint or draw per se, you have to think outside the shape. A little more specific explanation about the functions in the help menu would save some time. But after playing with it a while, you will find yourself moving and altering shapes in your sleep. I am deliciously obsessed with its possibilities. One important tip: if you find it lagging, restart your iPad. Love love love it. Thank you.

Great! But some suggestions..

VectorSVGMaker is super helpful for me, especially because I do freelance logo design here and there. This has a lot more features than one would expect from a phone application. Absolutely killer! I’ve had VectorSVGMaker for a while and I can’t help but notice that the “save video” option has changed. Now you get four different options for how the video will get played back. While those transitions do look pretty cool, I miss the video playback style where it was just a time lapse of every change that was made from the blank canvas to the final product. It was always super satisfying to watch my projects come together and it helped me a lot to see which shapes and methods I ditched and which ones I used along the way. It was also funny to show my friends and see their reaction to my almost-creepy desire for every little thing to be perfect😂 also if you could create an option to erase parts of shapes in the shape editor, that’d be cool! With a hardness adjuster and all the other standard things that an erase/fill brush should come with! Just a thought. My main thing is that I really miss the timelapse-style playback! PLEASE BRING THAT BACK!!! Thank you! :)

Amazing!!! But NEEDS Improvement!

First off let me say that VectorSVGMaker is so amazing. However there are many crucial things I think it needs.
-First of all a proper layering system like in Procreate or Pixelmator.
-We need tons of more snapping features within the editing of individual shapes. Currently when you go to edit an individual shale it removes almost all snapping points. This make it incredibly hard to transform shapes into exactly how you want them.
-Ability to import regular JPG files for reference. This would be really helpful and just for reference to overall shapes on actual pictures.
-Ability to Erase parts of the shapes in VectorSVGMaker .
-Ability to have transparent background (checkerboard pattern) within the editing canvas.
-Also one last thing that would be so amazing is adding some type of animation/gif creator. I make video games and there is huge potential for VectorSVGMaker to be super useful for game designers. If there was simply a sort of story board on the bottom that had multiple images within an animation and then you could rotate and image slightly and move to the next image to rotate it again or adjust it to create simple animations. Then have the ability to export as .gif and as a file with all .png in it to then move over to the game engine. It seems like VectorSVGMaker has all the ground work for that and it would be such an amazing addition.
I hope you’ll take my feedback into consideration, thank you!

Never Any New Shapes Added

There haven't been new shape packs added in many years and I'm sick of that. What was the point of making the in-app purchase for unlimited shapes back in the day before you got greedy with this subscription crap, if you're never adding any new shapes? So sick of this apathy.

VectorSVGMaker and developer was so much better when they sold this once great app as a premium program for one fair price. But, ever since they became greedy with the subscription garbage VectorSVGMaker has become much worse and the developer now apparently has zero incentive to add new shapes to the program. And why would they? They are already getting money per month or per year without having to justify those ridiculous fees with new content like shape packs. This stinks now.

I hope a competitor app comes out one day who will be ethical and offer their app as premium and be moral enough to keep it that way. And who will also honor past purchases like the unlimited shapes pack that we bought here that isn't honored anymore. I'm very exhausted by all the greed in the iOS App Store today.

You expect me to pay 3.99 a WEEK

Haha haha. VectorSVGMaker is so horrible that it crashes when I try to sign up for the subscription.

Back to illustrator.

Edit 2020 VectorSVGMaker no longer seems useable. It won’t create new projects without massive lag and once a project is created it crashes.

That’s what they get for taking a good thing and breaking it for subscription based.

Great up. BUT after the last update VectorSVGMaker has been crippled in terms of usability. It’s like touch a shape wait 3 minutes move the shape wait 3 minutes.

I am sure it’s not my device because my iPad Pro has the same problem.

Minus one star for this the drag.

Wow.. and I can not believe VectorSVGMaker has moved to a subscription based offer.

I am glad I paid the one time price when I did.

Minus another star because the developers implementation of a model which nickels and dimes new users.

I have told so many people about VectorSVGMaker and I regret I'm not going to do so any more. If the developers don't have anything but the end users wallet in their priorities there is no way I can recommend it to amigos.

Of course if you provide new features and nag me to death to upgrade I'll reduce to one star and delete VectorSVGMaker and go back to illustrator.

ASSEMBLY: Nice Updates!

• The new and evolving features in Assembly reflect the devs knowledge of design and what tools can be useful for photographers and designers.

• Assembly’s updates are meaningful, stable and enhance my work.
• Apple recently moved to a subscription model for iPhones (and more) and “gently pushed” devs to realize the fair value for the apps/art/tools they create.
• 99¢ apps are long gone and devs deserve the value of their work—subscriptions are the future.
• I AGREE.
• DEVS ARE PEOPLE TOO!

• There’s a trial version and a very fairly priced subscription version.
• Legacy Owners HAVE been given time before subscription pricing activated.

••••EDIT••••
• I was out of the USA, away from phones and computers (seriously nice), and just returned about three days ago...I think. (SERIOUS jet lag.)

• Devs slapped me upside the head with kindness, great service, and supportive answer.
• I hereby rewrite my review to reflect the amazing Assembly app and the dev’s truly genuine solution. (I waved my hands around in the air to make this officially and worthy of using the word “hereby”.)
• I should have emailed the devs before I went whining like a whining person on the Review pages—I ALWAYS FORGET to do that! Dam TBI!

• THAT’S WHY “Contact Us” PAGES WERE INVENTED!

• Thank you, Pixite.
• Still besties?

Sketchy Features claims - not as listed

I wanted a vector draw app that can import PNG, PDF, and JPG files. The features list said it could. It can’t. Then the description was updated. It still can’t. VectorSVGMaker does not do as the features claim:

PNGs
Well, if you have a PNG on your camera roll, you can add that to an open artwork. But you have to look inside the menu, inside some “Art board” area (?), then there is a “load” button. There’s no import button. But on the main screen VectorSVGMaker has an import SVG button directly. Confusing. Plus, even if you use the load image from inside the art board menu confusion, there is no FileBrowser to import PNGs from your files or from dropbox, only a select photo from your photo roll.

JPGs
I see no way to import JPG. I see no way to export JPG.

PDF
Exports yes. Import no.

For an app that costs $30 a year annually (more if you pay monthly), I would expect a simpler, more intuitive interface and an actual file import option (especially if the features list says it can).

Plus, even after upgrading for a year, you still have to pay more and more to import from the shapes packs.

Secondly, it claims you can do a 7-day trial. It would not let me access any app functions at all until I upgraded.

This may be a good app for you if you are mainly working with SVG files and only require PDF/PNG export.

But I wouldn’t recommend it.

Some improvements.

I’ve downloaded many drawing and vector apps in the past but none of them compare to Assembly. The GUI is very easy to use for editing vectors or creating vector, and the color too.

I just wanted to give a few suggestions for VectorSVGMaker and if they can get added. Note I don’t think they will be added because of the chances of them going through with it. Anyways her are my ideas.

1) Adding a more dynamic color panel for a larger span of colors. Although we can just input color, but this would be nice.

2) Ability to add fonts from google, this would be great to have a larger variety of fonts.

3) Making a better alignment tool, I don’t really like the current alignment tool, to many lines appear and its always shifted .1 to the left or right of the actual shape.

4) Adding brushes, Im not sure how they will feel about this since the add is known for its creativity with only shapes, and shadows. But there is a limit and trying to create more detailed artwork it difficult. Not many tools, maybe a pen, brush, fill.

I have more but little at a time. Also I create must of my artwork via iPhone and I have to say its great. Time passes by and learning is the best part about it.

Humble request for organizing system

Hello there!

My name is Daniel and I’m one of your many users of VectorSVGMaker Assembly.

First I want to tell you how incredible your app is for me. It has changed my life in ways you can’t imagine.

I’ve been using it for a while now and I can see all the work you’ve put in. Congratulations, you made it!

The reason I write, besides from telling you how much I love your app, is to make a humble user request for a way to organize files.

For people that use VectorSVGMaker every once in a while just for fun, a minimalistic workspace is perfect, but letting users make collections of drawings of the same project would change my life even more because that way I can put everything I want in one folder and that way I don’t have to go looking for it on my entire list of projects.

If you don’t want to make a folder system or anything like that, just giving the ability to order the arrangement of the projects would be enough. All I would like is to be able to organize myself so that I can work better.

With all that said thank you very much for VectorSVGMaker. It’s amazing, and I hope this arrives well.

Daniel

LOVE this app!

I am not one to write reviews, but VectorSVGMaker has convinced me that it’s worth writing one. First off, this design system is great for beginners in the vector world who want to broaden their creativity. It helps you to be comfortable using basic shapes to create something so much more.

I am normally a traditional artist using goache and other mediums. I’ve always been nervous with the vector world because I never thought I could continue my creativity the way I’ve wanted. Well, I was wrong. In fact, this has helped me be able to view shapes differently that I’ll be able to use in my traditional work still.

I highly recommend VectorSVGMaker and embrace it. There are a few quirks just like ANY app can have. I hope some day they will add where you can set up animation shorts with the characters you create. Also I would love if additional fonts and additional holiday icons could be added.

This has REALLY helped me a lot and I can’t thank you enough. Support is awesome too as they were able to respond me to very quickly if I had any questions or concerns.

Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see additions that you bring.

It’s that good...

I wrote a review before, but I’ll say it again. It is a great great app. In fact I upgraded my phone due to VectorSVGMaker. I love it. I love working around things it does not have yet. I love solving things out within the constraints of this program. They add new features to make it better and better. I am one of the early adopters of VectorSVGMaker and gladly unlocked all the shapes. If this had a subscription I would sub it. I can’t say enough about it. Give it a shot. Use other apps with it to get amazing results too. It is an art making tool that runs great on iPad and iPhone. Keep up the great work. I don’t mind paying again to keep VectorSVGMaker alive and current. That is how much I love it.

Fantastic.

I’ve tried many different iOS apps for making logos and graphics with simple shapes, including everything Adobe has to offer. This is by far the best and seems to work almost exactly how I want it to.

Turn text into vector graphics and separate the letters in a second. Not frustrating at all when trying to select multiple objects and arrange them. Lots of different premade shapes to choose from.

One thing that would be cool (don’t think it’s possible now at least) is if you could transform/distort shapes in more ways than just with the vertical and horizontal sliders and making them larger/smaller.

Love the app but doesn’t open half the time

I absolutely love VectorSVGMaker, but 8 out of 10 times when opening it up it freezes and doesn’t allow me to do anything. When it does it takes forever to even swipe through my projects. If I leave VectorSVGMaker , and go back into it, it will freeze on the screen with my folders while showing everything in the cloud needing to be downloaded... when deleting and reinstalling VectorSVGMaker , nothing uploads from the cloud, I have to individually select hundreds of projects for them to download one by one for me to see them and use them again... this is infuriating. I love VectorSVGMaker but recently with how often it doesn’t work, or kicks me off VectorSVGMaker leaving me to lose progress, it makes it difficult to want to keep using it... I truly wish this would be fixed, I’d have no issues.

This app cost me $$ and destroyed weeks of work

Updated review: The developers reached out to help me fixed the bug. They were very nice and although the big doesn’t seem to be totally fixed (it may be associated with an older device/iOS), at least my files were recovered. It’s a clever illustration tool so I hope it remains updated across platforms and devices.

I’ve been paying 2.99 a week for several weeks now to create some website graphics. After much painstaking work, I’ve gone back to edit previous drawings only to find that even though they appear correctly in the preview, they are totally hosed in edit mode and unusable. Thanks for taking my money and completely destroying the time I put into graphics creation. Don’t use VectorSVGMaker.

Having so much fun with this little app!

I started using this yesterday and already I have turned 10 designs from concepts in my heads into something I can send to the printer. It needs a few tweaks to be even more amazing though.

Some features I’d like:
1. Layers of sorts for making versions of images - like same background different text elements, for example.
2. Better ability to map a diagonal line off one polygon and draw shapes (or sides of shapes) parallel to it, right now it just has to be eyeballed.
3. An option to LOCK items in place on the palate because it’s easy to move them by accident.
4. Better cut and pasting between projects (example, I want the same text from one project on another. I can copy the elements all I want in the first project, but taking it out doesn’t seem to exist yet).
5. Better color picker and save color experience. I find my favorite colors are not saved correctly and there is no easy way to dial back to recent previous colors.

Overall, it works and is great. Just needs to be better. Love using it and I’ll share my final products if you send me a link.

What happened to the Forever Unlock?

I have friends who have been using VectorSVGMaker for a year or more, and they’ve persuaded me to use VectorSVGMaker to help me with my graphic design aspirations. However, I just got VectorSVGMaker in November, and the first thing I notice is that most of the features are hidden behind the Pixite Pro paywall. I’m fine with paying about nine dollars to unlock a full app, but you guys discontinued it. Why? My friends are currently using features in VectorSVGMaker that are hidden behind a paywall, and they’ve been using VectorSVGMaker before Apple started using subscription models. I’m disappointed, Pixite. I do not feel like paying thirty dollars every year to use VectorSVGMaker, when I look down at the In-App Purchases and see that I could have only paid nine dollars to use the same functionality forever. Why are you doing this, Pixite? Can’t you give us a forever unlock again, please?

USED to be my favorite app

It hurts to give this anything less than 5 stars, but truthfully, at this stage, it’s not even worth one.

It used to be my favorite app, but now it’s almost useless and I only have been holding on to it in hopes that one day the developers would fix the problems.

If I want to change the color of an element, I have to delete it, and replace it over and over until I get the color i want. And if I want to change the color palette, I have to close and open the entire app until I get the palette I want, and with the way VectorSVGMaker works, I can only see one color in the palette without opening the entire palette. But if I do that, VectorSVGMaker freezes. So to find out if it’s the palette you want to use, you have to delete and replace the element over and over.

So with that being said, it says how much I ABSOLUTELY LOVED AND ADORED VectorSVGMaker before the bugs. Who else would hang on through this garbage? If they fix it, well worth the wait! If not???🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

They maybe, MAYYYYYBE have a year left of me hanging onto VectorSVGMaker without fixing these bugs. After that, I’m giving up. So sad😥

Incredible.

If you are a graphic designer or artist that needs to get simple or moderate work done in a pinch, Assembly won't let you down. The team is constantly adding new feature's, I hope soon it will be able to rival the likes of Adobe Illustrator. As of now though, if you are planning on doing complex graphic designs with multiple layers and gradients, it may not be suitable. Though, it is by far the greatest graphic design tool in VectorSVGMaker Store by lightyears. There is also a $30/year subscription for more shapes as well as the ability to use text and custom fonts, GET THIS, ITS INCREDIBLE. Get this whole app, it's incredible, cheers!

By

Love this app

First I have never had a crash or loss of work on my iPad Pro or iPhone 11 Pro as some others have reported. Prior to Assembly I used Affinity Designer ( and still do ) but can now do relatively low-to- medium complexity designs much faster with Assembly. Rather than creating shapes from scratch, it’s easier to use an existing shape and simply modify it. I only have two requests for new features. First, a grid with snapping, and/or improved multi-object alignment. Second, real gradient fills, even if only a linear option. The more I use VectorSVGMaker, the more I love it.

Amazing!

I just finished my trial with the free version and I am hooked. VectorSVGMaker brings out creativity and imagination I never knew I had. It makes me picture things before they happen and expands the mind when looking at objects. It eliminates a narrow mind and lets you explore and create endless possibilities. A triangle is not just a triangle, and a square a square. It could be the missing part to your master piece. VectorSVGMaker turned on a light bulb in my head and made me see the world differently. Nothing is just exactly what it seems but can be anything and something completely different to someone else.
