I bought TurboScan to scan thousands of family photos and it works very well for this purpose. I built a light box for my iPad Pro so I just put the next photo on a black background and take a pic. It does a very good job at cropping unless an edge of the photo is very dark. Overall I'm happy with the cropping feature. I found sometimes when I switch apps while in the photo shoot mode, I return to a frozen program. I just Kill and restart TurboScan to fix. A minor bug that's easy to work around. However, sometimes after a restart, the last photo I scanned is missing! And sometimes after a scan, photos are just missing. Today I wanted to text a photo I had just scanned only to find out it was never saved! Worse yet, the two previous scans were also missing. This is not acceptable and my reason for 1 star. I don't know how many scans are missing. Beware if you're using TurboScan for large batch scan runs - you may need to check the list after every scan.

Updated: 2 stars to 1. Sending me an email about this review telling me to check the FAQ to solve this problem wasn’t helpful. I had already done that and nothing has fixed this issue for me.

I’m beyond frustrated with TurboScan, which aside from the following issue is pretty great. Anytime I select to email the scanned document(s) to myself, which I paid extra for, it will not send until I restart my phone. This has been an issue for the last couple of months and the only solution I have found. It’s time consuming and should really be fixed. I found the solution on a webpost where others were having the same issue.

I used the free version to test with some artwork being submitted for contests. I decided $6.99 was a good price to pay to have the ability to continue doing this as I was quite pleased with the results. As soon as I paid for the upgrade and continued with taking pictures of the pieces, the quality was greatly reduced, pictures grainy, colors extremely faded. This was within minutes of the original few photos I took with the free version. Nothing had changed. I even tried scanning one of the pieces I’d done previously with the free version to compare and the results were drastically different with the free version being far superior to that of the second version taken after I’d paid for the upgrade.
One would say I feel a bit of a bait and switch with this product. I know it can perform well, so why once I pay for more access does it stop performing?

I have used TurboScan for 4 years. It’s one of my best tools in the field. Today, I saw that the full app is on sale, so I planned to purchase it this evening, not because I need it (the free one works fine for me) but because I would like to support the people that have developed such a useful tool. Then I opened TurboScan today and got a pop-up message “from the developer”. It said to “wear a mask”.
I’m not going to even begin to explain why this is a political statement because everyone with common sense knows that it is.
This is not a “safety” or “health” app. I use it because it’s useful. I do not require or desire the “developers” preaching at me about wearing a mask. I’m not buying the full app now and if I see a pop-up like this even once more I’m deleting it completely and using one of the many alternatives. Every one I know in my industry that I have trained and recommended to use TurboScan (hundreds of people) will receive a text or email from me recommending a replacement.
Keep your virtue signaling to yourselves.

You get a few free scans and then have to pay a nominal fee to purchase it, but TurboScan is well worth your hard earned dollars. Automatically lets you know if you are too close to the page being scanned. Let’s you combine multiple pages into one PDF. Basically turns your phone to a scanner. Have only used it for black and white. Unsure if color works or not.

I work in an industry that requires field agents to scan documents and email them back to me at the office. We were using camscanner and the images were distorted and blurry! TurboScan actually finds the borders of pages for you and clearly snaps a picture and converts it into a pdf and emails me a perfect document every time! The options of color and great scale with multiple darkness’s and lighter options has been a savior also! LOVE TurboScan!!!!!

I’ve used TurboScan more times than I ever thought. I figured I’d send a few documents during quarantine and it would cost less to download TurboScan than going to Staples. It’s proved to be so useful. The $7 was worth every cent. No need to look for a fax, scanner or ask someone to put something in a pdf. Love TurboScan and I recommend it everyone who asks about scanning a document.

I have been using TurboScan specifically for maybe 7 years now. Over time it has progressively turned into an amazing app that I utilize in my small business nearly every day - I will probably never use a conventional scanner again. So quick and the auto capture is insanely accurate. Thanks for providing a quality product that I will use for the rest of time!

This is a really great and useful app but I don’t appreciate having to buy it again and again if I download it onto another device of mine using the same Apple ID and email I used when I downloaded it and purchased it from the jump. That’s really messed up! But I really need it so I guess I’m just going to have to bite that distasteful part of supply and demand and keep on keeping on!

I’ve been using this app for several years now and it has always worked well. No faulty operations I am aware of. I like the ability to choose “three photos” or a single shot with flash or not - you can always get a quality looking scan that way. Whenever I scan a document in front of a client they are impressed and usually ask for the name of TurboScan to use it themselves.

I never had a problem with TurboScan until today when I received a pop up screen while using it (I paid for premium) and thought my phone got hacked. The pop up encouraged me to wear a mask! What a joke. I’m a cardiothoracic surgeon and have worn a mask since the 1980’s. I’ve also had the first and second Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, now immune. Please do not diminish the use of this highly effective app with nuisance pop ups. Stay in your lane.

Since the pandemic I’ve been working from home and I don’t own a scanner. One of my chores is to fill out insurance audits. Before I used to edit the form and fill it out but it never looked professional
It took me a bit to download this app on my phone but from day one I loved it!
I’m not very technology savvy and I find TurboScan very easy to use
I love the fact that I can have folders to keep documents organized
Back at the office our scanner used to jam every so often...that doesn’t happen with this app
And it doesn’t matter how big the document is...the other day I scanned a year worth of bank statements no problem
Needless to say being I’m such a fan I’ve been recommending it to my friends and peers

I use to use another app scanner once in a while and then the Pandemic hit and I started working solely from home with out an expensive scanner. I was really frustrated with the old App scanner and my daughter told me about scanner pro. Wow, does it make life working at home bearable and functional. Easy to do multi page documents. No issue with shadows and clear as a bell pdf documents I can save to files. Thanks scanner pro

I downloaded the free version a couple of years ago & it works so well that when I needed the ability to scan more I bought the premium version. I don't use it a lot but when I need it, it's amazing! I had one issue which was I now had both versions on my phone so I emailed for support on getting scans from the free version merged over they responded within a couple hours & within 2 minutes I'd taken care of the issue!

I work as an Art Director and am constantly having to submit receipts, start paperwork form remote locations, all kinds of things that I’d normally have to send as JPEG (😱) via email. This ap saves me TONS of time, frustration and keeps me in close communication with my team and Producers.

Also because of being mostly 1099, I am able to snap pics of all my receipts, personal and professional and store them in neat little folders for each item on schedule C. It makes taxes a quick and fairly painless process.

I’m not one that spends money on apps , specially if there it’s not going to be a return to investment of some sorts, I don’t pay for useless apps and by far this has been the best app I’ve spent my money on, TurboScan has paid itself about 300 times ( that’s not me embellishing or an exaggeration, it’s a fact ) since 2019 when I first got it I have uploaded , downloaded , scanned, print saved and forward hundred of forms , certificates , maps , PowerPoint slideshows , important pictures etc.

This is by far the most I’ve ever gotten out of my money app wise, I highly recommended !!!

I hate clutter, and I especially hate paper clutter. Before downloading TurboScan, I would scan papers using my all-in-one printer. The process required me to 1) be home 2) physically insert all the papers into the scanner 3) have patience (which was the hardest part!). TurboScan does everything my scanner did and more, but requires less time and effort. Now, I open TurboScan (at home or on-the-go) and quickly capture page after page. I can save the pages on my phone or email them (as JPEGs or PDFs) to myself and others. The quality of each image is fantastic. I recommend TurboScan to everyone I know!

I'm not normally the one who writes a review because I'm not normally excited about a product. Usually if the product is great, the service lacks or vice versa. I love TurboScan! I never use my scanner anymore and am able to send docs on the fly while I'm anywhere for business. While TurboScan is perfect if you're looking for ways to improve (yeah, I know) please be a option available when I'm in a text or email to be able to attach my PDF then. I'm aware if I save my doc to my Dropbox I can make this happen but it would be excellent to go direct without Dropbox. Thank you for this awesome tool!

For me, TurboScan was one of those little things that had a disproportionately huge positive impact on my life. It has made my law practice more efficient and it has been a godsend during Covid. I keep all kinds of scanned documents on my phone and pull them out as needed no matter where I am, which I have done many times. I also just received excellent support from the this app tech people (thanks Matt!!). I had to do an iPhone factory reset and none of my scans came back to me when I re-download. Apple support was not able to help me but they suggested this app support. this app support helped me on both Sunday and today, Presidents’ Day, and I successfully got all of my scans back. I would give this app six stars if possible!

I’m a journeyman for a flooring company. Part of that means I’m always measuring jobs, revising orders on the field. I don’t have the luxury of stopping somewhere to scan paperwork. I came across TurboScan back in 2014 and have ALWAYS used it ever since. I’ve turned my coworkers on to it also and have yet to find complaints. Some people have showed me other apps they use. I immediately start comparing both and this one still comes on top for me.

I’ve been using this app for 11 years. I have a mobile service traveling to people’s homes providing healthcare services. If someone calls and needs something I can actually pull my car over and quickly scan and send their documents. I have come to depend on TurboScan daily and it has truly been a Lifesaver for my business!

I have a copy of my license, shot records, etc. I’m here incase I ever forget something and it has definitely come in handy. Very useful for my work when I need to send over documents. And almost like a storage folder. My only suggestion is for it to have the option of putting a password.

Good app, it's convenient, saves space, and trees. How it could be better is it could scan better than it does now making it closer to an actual scanner. At times the back round of where I lay my papers down gets scanned and sometimes it doesn't. Consistency would be nice.

Update: it’s better, worth every penny.

Love TurboScan, have had it several years-- it has been just what I've needed. Much easier to scan from this than my printer. I use on my iPhone. In addition, we Spend part of year in small town, where this is the only thing I use for emailing docs,etc. And.. they upgrade and improve as they see fit.

If you have ever had he need to scan documents and email them anywhere at anytime, this is TurboScan for you. It takes a picture of the document and scans it and makes it look as if you made a copy of it or used a computer scanner. You can not tell that it is from a picture at all. Buy this, you won't regret it!

Wow! I love TurboScan for the first few pages. But then there seemed to be a lower quality scan kick in once a certain threshold had been reached of use. I just read about various updates of 20+ pages and better scan quality for all pages! So so am excited to try it out now!

I love TurboScan. So much easier to use and it does everything you want it to do.

Was using tiny scanner but every time they do an update to TurboScan it is so much more difficult and complicated to use and do the things you are used to doing until it is virtually impossible to do anything at all. If you do not posses a physics degree do not get the tiny scanner app.

This is the best app ever. this app lets me scan an image, adjust the frame, and email it to myself. It allows me to scan and crop images. I can save the image as a black and white image, a color image or as a photo. It is incredibly useful for someone who needs to track receipts and business expenses. I can scan and upload my work logs. this app is a versatile tool that I use every day. I highly recommend TurboScan.

I got TurboScan when my Brother In Law died in order to help my husband with all the paperwork submissions. This, along with the ‘Tiny Fax’ app, saved us hours and hours of running back home or to the office to take care of business! It not only scans but also saves documents that you may need to send to multiple people or businesses. I also use it to store receipts for home projects. A must have for me!!

I had a friend introduce me to TurboScan. Up until then, I was stressed about how I could scan documents because my printer stopped working. I normally stick to free apps but after trying the free version I was so impressed that I just bought the full version. I use it all the time! Well worth it.
