Needs better organization

I think RoosterTeeth is generally laid out well. They very clearly put a thought into how they put things together, however, I feel like they overlooked the organization of some of their content on RoosterTeeth . When you go to look at Let’s Play content, for example, rather than being able to filter by the game they play or what not, you can only filter by year. That means if I want to watch a Minecraft let’s play, I have to scroll through tons of other videos before I can even find one. Sure, I could just search Minecraft, but not being able to filter by games the way they have everything else set up is kind of annoying. I would also love if they added a feature, maybe at least to first members, where we can have a video continue to play picture in picture mode while we, for example, look for another video to watch. Sometimes I would like to search for another video while a video is playing and it’s kind of annoying to have to exit out or preplan what I want to watch. I get that these are nitpicks, but it would really elevate the experience from a meh experience to an amazing one. I love the content and will continue to support, but it’s sad to see that the best place to enjoy their content is on another platform where I can’t support them as a first member.

Used to be good, it’s “meh” at best now

RoosterTeeth used to be “adequate” but it’s taken a quality dive recently. First, it is logging me out randomly MUCH more frequently now. This wouldn’t be so bad but it all stopped interfacing with password managers too. This may have been when they introduced signing on with google, but I can’t be sure. Because I understand network security I have a STRONG password so now I have to go into LastPass, look up my password, copy it to the clipboard, come back into the RT app, and paste it. I just wanted to watch funny internet videos and your app made it into this whole big thing.

Second, how is there still no iPad version of RoosterTeeth . It has been out for how long, this is absurd!!! Yes, I can use the iPhone version on my iPad and zoom it to fill the screen, but it looks terrible.

Third, and this really chafes me because it used to work. I cannot play and pause using my AirPods or my Apple Watch. When you are putting out more and more audio only podcasts (which I do enjoy) that are great to listen to when working out or cooking, the fact that I cannot quickly pause AND resume without touching my phone screen when I have other, better options is completely inexcusable.

Lacklustre 2.0 Rerelease

First off I would like to say that RoosterTeeth in its current state has so much potential to be absolutely amazing but it’s missing a huge number of key features that would really seal the deal on 2.0 being better than 1.0 was. I never really used 1.0 because I installed it and it was horrible to even try to use but from what I have read it looks like you removed features from 1.0 to 2.0 which just doesn’t make any sense to me. It looks like you removed both AirPlay support as well as video minimising which neither really make all that much sense to me personally. AirPlay, while not as dire, is a really nice feature that seems like it would only stand to make 2.0 a stunning app. The minimising video is a bit more concerning as that allows users to spend more time curating their upcoming watches. As for features that seem to be no brainers that are missing are things like “double tap to seek”, the ability to swipe between pages, an easy to access watchlist, and a page for new videos from only your favourited series’ are just a few that come to the top of my head. I appreciate the attempt at making your mobile app better but it seems more like a swing and a miss in my personal opinion.

One minor iPad problem

Hey, devs! RoosterTeeth is almost really great, but for one minor issue. In order to really understand it, you’ll have to see it. So grab an iPad, log in, and watch a video in landscape mode. It HAS to be an iPad. For further reproducibility, I’m running a 9.7 Pro right now. The issue is the white bar at the top. If there's a way to make it go away, I can’t find it. You won’t get this issue on an iPhone, either; I logged in and checked.

And yes, to all those other folks out there that hate this issue, I don’t like it either, but RoosterTeeth does run perfectly fine on an iPhone, so I’m giving it four stars anyway. So to potential downloaders: if you’re watching solely on an iPhone, have fun! If you’re using an iPad, this may be a deal-breaker for you.

Missing several key features.

The new layout is nice, but there are some clear oversights that should be in an app whose main purpose is to play video.

Firstly, why no airplay support? I normally use RoosterTeeth by airplaying the video to my Apple TV, since the Apple TV rooster teeth app is trash. Now, I have to mirror my whole screen in order to do so. Secondly, I'd like the ability to minimize the player so I can browse comments or the rest of RoosterTeeth while the video is still playing. Both of these features were on the older version of RoosterTeeth that have since been removed during this re-vamp.

One more thing and this one is minor. Id like the ability to just swipe right to backwards thru RoosterTeeth . I.E.: from the main screen, tapping achievement Hunter to see the list of just their vids, and then swiping back to the main screen instead of tapping the tiny arrow in the corner. This feature has been built into core iOS for many versions, I'm not sure why you would not include it in your app.

It's okay but not amazing

I like RoosterTeeth because I consume most of my media on my phone but it has some bugs that are rather annoying.
-Series will sometimes list oldest to newest and other times newest to oldest. It's really a toss up of which way I'm going to get it and some days it's both.
-When I close RoosterTeeth it often kicks me from the video and refreshes no matter what I try differently.
-It won't place hold where I am in a video if I have to close RoosterTeeth for whatever reason, more often than not it gives me a random time that it place holds at.
-I hate that I can't pause a video without opening RoosterTeeth . I should be able to do it in the control center or in the lock screen of my iPhone but it doesn't stop when I hit pause even though the control shows it has.
- Lately I've had the issue where every time or every other time I open RoosterTeeth I have to log back in and that's really frustrating.
- Sometimes my content doesn't update. I'll be looking for a video in RoosterTeeth that I saw on my computer and I can't find it even though it's still on the site when I open it on my computer.
-There's just a lot of general bugs that make navigation and operation difficult. None of it is anything big, but combine it becomes a real issue.
With the price raise of first memberships I hope they put some of that money into working on RoosterTeeth .

Feels like an “early-access” version of their app

I’ve had RoosterTeeth for over a year now if I’m remembering correctly, I think there has been ONE update in that time. On occasion I’ll get a glitch where it says my subscription is attached to a different Apple ID which is impossible since I only have one. If you contact RT support their only fix is for you to delete and re-download RoosterTeeth . You cannot comment on videos or view/post journals, which is a shame for a VIDEO platform. I’ve been getting this issue where videos won’t show up in the feed and I have to go hunt down my weekly videos. RoosterTeeth also doesn’t save your progress on a video if you stop watching which is a pain, the buffering is also a pain since there is no circle or button to help drag the video along. This is a huge shame since I only watch RT content on RoosterTeeth and will probably be the reason I end my subscription since YouTube’s app is so far above and better then this poor excuse from an otherwise great company. I hope they stop ignoring RoosterTeeth.

New Version has some bugs

Just got the update on RoosterTeeth and was excited to start my First membership. But watching on RoosterTeeth has been difficult so far. The only thing I’ve watched using RoosterTeeth since the new update was the spring break live stream. Other than that, all of the videos have no audio. Whenever I try to watch a video there’s no sound and I’ve played around to figure out what’s going on. The live stream had audio though which makes me confused. Also, every time I try to add something to my watchlist, it says there’s an error and to try again later. Still not working. Really hoping someone at Rooster Teeth sees this and addresses those bugs or I will not be continuing the First membership. Don’t see a point in using RoosterTeeth if none of my videos have audio. (Want to mention I’m using RoosterTeeth on an iPhone 7 Plus in case that has any effect)

Really good app, especially on the GO!

I am a huge rooster teeth fan, have been for years and RoosterTeeth adds to the experience. Unfortunately it dose not hold the social aspects of their online servers such as comments and the community, but I am guessing that this is something that will be implemented over time or is just to big for them to implement at all (although I am no app maker so...). But having the full site open on my phone can drain battery life, and dose not always load as well. RoosterTeeth opens and runs like a charm and is organized nicely. I'm not sure if there was an update, but the playback works fine and I can login immediately. All in all not only is it better than there previous apps but a good app all together.

I Think Im In Love 😂

When I was about 10 or 11 years old, my brother showed me RWBY and i absolutely fell in love with it. I tried to find everyone and anyone who knew about it. I stopped watching episodes after the first season because i didn’t have access, but early last year i got to watch WAY more than i had expected. Im telling you, i was screaming with joy. I am absolutely in love with RWBY. Especially the music. My favorite songs are ‘Roses Are Red Part ll’, ‘Rising’, and ‘Armed and Ready’. Whenever i hear ‘Rising’ my heartbeat skips a beat. RWBY opened my eyes to the shows i watch and the music i listen to. I don't know how to express my love for RWBY. I hope you guys make a lot of episodes and progress. Thank you for making my childhood nostalgic. 😁💜

I love the content, but have some problems with the app itself

Let me start off by saying that I love rooster teeth and appreciate the content a lot. Sadly RoosterTeeth has a few downfalls. Occasionally a video will not load after I have paused it and gone to another app, and the only way to fix it is to load another video and then go back to the one that I was watching, which also doesn't save where I was on the video, but restarts from the beginning and that leads to my next issue. It is very hard to pinpoint where I want to be on the phone and I would greatly appreciate if two buttons were added on either side of the pause button to skip 10 or 30 seconds backwards and forwards. I have no idea if anyone reads these reviews, but I wanted to try and help make RoosterTeeth better for me and other users.

Completely worth it, but the apps are buggy

I absolutely LOVE Rooster Teeth!
Red vs Blue, RWBY, and Camp Camp are some of absolute favorite shows ever, of all time.
But! It would be really great if they could get the apps, especially the Xbox version, to work more than 40% of the time. Half the time when I click on any video it doesn’t load at all. I’ve tried staring at the black screen for 10+ minutes thinking it’s just buffering, closing and reopening RoosterTeeth a dozen times, deleting and reinstalling RoosterTeeth altogether but to avail. It would be nice not to have to go through the trouble of hooking my laptop up to my TV every time I want to rewatch my favorite moments
from RWBY vol 6. It gets seriously annoying after about the 10th time.

It’s good but needs improvement

RoosterTeeth work, been watching videos for a year now on mobile as my computer died, normally I put something on in the background and close the screen but now background audio stopped working.
darkmode on the phone doesn’t allow you to see what you’re trying in the comments as it doesn’t change the test from black to white (light mode is garbage, I don’t know why you would force someone to use light mode to comment)
And occasionally during RTTV RoosterTeeth will just auto close out.
It needs work bad and not a update every 2 years like it seems to get.
New update, you like VPN’s? Do you use the one they promote on their channels all the time? Well the sites host will now deny you the use of it now, and it’s also RoosterTeeth is effected. It’s FUBAR.

Bluetooth Issue

I've been a huge fan of Rooster Teeth ever since they were created and RoosterTeeth has been a tremendous help in providing me a much easier way to keep up to date with all of their content. The only thing I've been noticing, aside from all of the other people requesting a fix to the scrub bar, is that for some reason while I have a Bluetooth device connected while using RoosterTeeth, the audio will randomly stop transmitting to my device, even though my Bluetooth device is still connected, and the video will continue to play, but it still won't play the audio even just through the phone itself. Please take a look into this because I really love using RoosterTeeth!

Downloaded content does not work

I just want to start this off saying I love this app and have been watching their content for years and will keep doing so, with that being said I’ve been trying to figure out ways to get downloaded content to work for months now and there just is not solution to this problem. You have to stay on RoosterTeeth and keep it open in order for the video to download. Once you miraculously manage to get the video downloaded it simply does not work. The video buffers every 10 or so seconds then eventually crashes all together when trying to view offline. Works while online but I need it for offline use hence the reason I download these videos. I contacted support months ago and didn’t receive a response. Looked issue up online to see others experiencing this issue but failed to find a solution or a response from this app regarding the issue.

Solid app. Weird organization.

I prefer RoosterTeeth to the website on mobile. It’s a great home for all first content. It works great as a first user. If you don’t have first, it’s unfriendly. Other than that it’s just kinda weirdly laid out on the whole. The main channel page is a useful timeline of videos for regular watchers and works great if you keep up with content. If you are looking for a specific series the order of the series page changes based on what show is out making it an ever changing mush with old shows haphazardly pushed to the bottom. They also choose to put trailers in the same playlist as shows but not the post shows so if you want to binge watch old shows and first content it is a nightmare to go back and forth.

Honest review from a die hard fan.

RoosterTeeth is great for what it is but I expected more, especially for First members. I wish RoosterTeeth had a comment section for videos and the ability to read and post journals. I have a problem with the live tweets that appear during live streams, if you click on any image shown on there you cannot back out and have to force close RoosterTeeth . I wish there was a way to have a history tab so you can see which videos you've already seen and pick up where you leave off. I don't know if if this is the best place to share Xbox One app reviews but that thing plays videos on shuffle i feel or in no particular order. I love Rooster Teeth and have been a first member for a long time. I would like to enjoy RoosterTeeth more with some improvements.

Love the app so much, but there’s one issue

I have been using RoosterTeeth for probably a few years now and I love it. I’m a long time First Member and I love all the perks and convenience of RoosterTeeth .

The one issue I have is now whenever I try to comment on a video, there is a black bar covering the text box that doesn’t let you see what you’ve typed until you submit it. It’s kinda annoying since you have no idea if you made a mistake until the comment is posted and then you have to delete the comment and try all over again. If that got fixed than I’d give RoosterTeeth 5 stars no question!

2 problems

One of the problems I have is I mainly use RoosterTeeth to listen to the podcasts, and I listen usually when I’m driving and when I play a podcast then I turn off my phone the video stops playing, that’s fine. But when I press play a song coming from my iTunes library starts playing. Meaning that I have to play the show with RoosterTeeth open, which is a problem because I don’t want to waste all my data. My second problem is I can’t look at other parts of RoosterTeeth while i am watching a video. In order to look at something in RoosterTeeth you have to close out the video and i think these problems can be easily fixed. Other than those problems I think this is a good app.

So many functions that don’t work

There is a download tab but no way to download videos, the apple background play and pause buttons don’t work still. Only recently did the comment boxes get fixed. Background play all together only works some of the time. And will take multiple tries of loading a video for it to play in the background it would be nice it just the download thing got fixed I spend days away from cell signal and this feature which is already in the apps just need to add a button the videos. Would be great
