    Great app, bad pricing model

This app is exactly what I need to help me develop good thinking habit and stay positive in my life! I also recommended it to my therapist hoping this can help others. However I don’t feel right about how the dev prices it. Of course you don’t have to pay for it; the free version has all the basic functionalities for your CBT record, but it happens that I need to share my thought entries with my therapist, which is locked until you pay. You need to pay almost 40 bucks a year for the record export, and this is kinda ridiculous. I would rather pay upfront for one time cost and that’s it. I hope the dev can reconsider how they charge users for this app. It’s a solid app, and I would like to support a solid developer who really cares about mental health. But so far the pricing is not quite right.

    Absolutely incredible

I never feel the need to write reviews, but right now I think I need to. I have only been using this app for a day, and can tell that this will be my safe place to spill my thoughts down feeing and analyze what is going on. I have done CBT in the past, but it’s been hard to make it to my appointments because of my hectic and overwhelming schedule. If you are struggling with invasive thoughts, anxiety, depression, etc. you need this app!! I feel better after every entry, and I love the check ins that I can do throughout the day. Thank you for creating this app!!

    Amazing mood changer

When I remember to use this tool to challenge and defeat my negative moods and thinking I generally have amazing success. I can really change my experience at any given time by picking this up and applying the thought changing exercises. So many times through life I have heard the idea that it is how we view events that culminates our experience of an event and yet it seems so natural to just accept my default perspective. In fact this is the tool that can help me re-view events for a better one.

A Great Tool; Complete Mobile Journal

I found Thought Diary through the recommendation of a crisis support counselor. We had just discussed CBT and they pointed to the app as a possible tool for learning more and for practice. I love it. It's a simple as choosing a smiley appropriate to your mood or as deep as identifying and challenging distorted thinking. It's simple to export your notes if you keep a separate digital journal. The reminders on the app are great, they even work with Apple Watch. I love the cross-platform functionality. Great job here. I like this app a lot.

    Best mood tracking app

This app not only helps me manage my moods, it helps with perspective. With a mood disorder it can be hard to step back and look at things objectively and see patterns developing. This app slows me down and makes me take a look at my own emotions privately before expressing them by engaging in destructive behaviors. I like the prompt to identify and challenge negative thought patterns. And it’s great that this app has guides on therapeutic techniques—truly goes above and beyond.

    Very helpful in a crisis

I’ve used Thought Diary for about ten days, to help me through a period of high stress. I am finding it so helpful in articulating some overly emotional thinking and guiding me to challenge it. I have even gone back and read past entries to learn from the cycle of my thought. I appreciate Thought Diary’s prompts to come at my day from different angles, which are then compiled into discrete diary entries. A useful way to learn about myself and calm my thoughts.

    So far so good

I started counseling recently and my counselor wanted me to try a thought log. Since a pen and paper isn’t the most easy thing to access at all times, I wanted to find something for my phone. I’ve used it quite a bit in the last couple of days. It’s easy to use and I can open it up the moment I’m feeling the need to challenge any negative thoughts.

    Disappointed

I used this app in the past. I recently reinstalled it and found to my disappointment many of the features I found useful are now locked behind a subscription wall (password protection, emotion customization, and other customization features). This app is no longer useful to me. I understand paying for specialized analysis tools and features, but not allowing customizations or password protection of highly personal thoughts, is a sign of greed, and not a desire to provide a tool to help those that need it. The app is nice, But pencil and paper work just as good.

As a Therapist, I Enjoy this App

I have been looking for an app to use with my clients to replace the paper thought records we use. I decided to take this for a spin and so far, I have been enjoying it. It’s going to be a grate tool to use with my clients. I wish there was a license for therapists to offer this to their clients and not have those clients pay the monthly price.

    Awesome!

This app is exactly what I needed. My therapist had me documenting on paper and it was a fail. I found this app and it’s exactly what the CBT Thought Change work I was doing on paper! It would be extremely helpful if you could change the date that a thought happened. I’ve tried doing it and couldn’t figure it out. Sometimes I mean to document things and forget and would like to go back in the next day.

    So far so good!

I really enjoy this app. I love that it makes me more conscious of my thought patterns. You can tell it’s been really well thought out. The only suggestion I have would be to include a calendar view of the diary so you can see your moods laid out in the context of a calendar. (It’s easier to see patterns in this format as opposed to a list. I used to use Daylio exclusively, but still use it just for the calendar view.)

Helpful for CBT on the go!

I just started this app from my counselor’s recommendation. I’ve done CBT a lot before and it always helped but I have trouble keeping up with it. This app helps me by seeing the possible cognitive distortions and being able to choose which one it is and work through it.

Unable to sync app between my iPhone and iPad

I really like the app. Im at the end of my 7 day free trial and want to pay for a year....but I can’t get the app to sync between my iPhone and iPad. I tried restoring from my iPhone from my iPad ( where I set up the free trial) and it’s not restoring or auto syncing.I I have both set up for auto syncing to the cloud, but my iPhone won’t sync with my iPad.

    Helpful to anyone

I am someone that struggles with reasoning my thoughts but I’m beginning to believe that a lot of people are. When I showed my friends & colleagues this app they were amazed at how quick it takes to change the way you think & how easy it is. I use this daily!!!

    Really helpful!!

I’ve done CBT before and have found it the most effective treatment for my mental health. Having it as an app has helped me do a little everyday. I’ve been recommending it to everyone cause it’s so good and think everyone could benefit from using it!!
