This is the worst app I’ve ever had to use. Unfortunately I have to use it for work or I would never look at Descartes again. Every time a change is made in programming it is made worse for the user. For the love of God stop having your three year olds design your apps. Thank you.

They need to change a lot things.

LOL all you can do with this is laugh at it and move on, just like when you consider getting good service at Home Depot, that’s a good laugh for everyone. So expect a laugh but nothing to be done right!🤣🤣

With this last update, they have somehow manage to make Descartes less intuitive. Now I have random screens popping up throughout the day telling me that I have route updates. Then I have to click through 3-4 screens to get back to the home menu. Just what I need everything I need to status a wo. Spending an extra 20 seconds clicking through more screens every time I open Descartes . See “dumpster fire” in the dictionary.

Too many issues to list but here’s a few, loads orders that you skipped, some days Descartes won’t let you load your route, routes don’t always close at the end of the day so you have to manually close them via calling dispatch.

My workplace started using Descartes it’s the worst it will route trucks to cross paths in the middle of the route to deliver to the same place or close to it instead doesn’t consider traffic as part of anything doesn’t consider weight it will route backwards from what common sense should be and have us drivers carry 30,000lbs around until last stop of day instead of making that the first stop to drop all the weight to save fuel and time wear and tear on truck just a excuse for someone not wanting to do there job here punch deliveries in a app it knows best!!!! Haha

Why does this application require that you always allow it to track your location? Why must it be set to “always allow”?

It doesn’t update quickly, we have to be logging in and out some times to update and sometimes uninstall and reinstall back again so it can actually works and it drains the battery out real bad!

Hard to update. Crashes and freezes a lot. Some decent features but needs a lot of work.

Stores can’t verify deliveries completed by drivers with the picture method , Descartes does not update unless you log out then back in. POD comments don’t always show up to management. Great app if this stuff wouldn’t mess up. Especially the picture and comments those are vital to run smoothly,especially when a neighbor sees you deliver and steal the delivery and you have no record in Descartes of made delivery .

I've been using delivery systems from this app for a long time now like the older style that was back in the boost mobile days. Anyways Descartes is way better than what I've used in the past as of now I'm using it on my iPhone 6s and it runs really smooth and it does take some time to figure out some of the features and how to use them. Beautiful user interface but there are some cons that I really hope they work on.

Cons:
- if you are in 4G you'll have a great day, as soon as it switches to a lower bandwidth you are screwed and cannot do anything not even get signatures, arrive to your location, nothing!
- sometimes it crashes and exits abruptly so you have to open it back up and sign back in which is an annoyance and wastes precious time.

All in all a great app but please create an offline mode for temporary workflow when I have no service so I can keep using it!

Update, went from 4 stars to one. It crashes a lot more and the more I use it the more I learn. Like now I can actually use it on 3G service, it must've just been that buggy. Also randomly I can't log into stops or enter in data, so I have to abandon my route and then click the button to get my route. It's a huge hassle. I'll have customers trying to sign then OOPS Descartes crashes, sometimes 2-3 times in a row!!! Please update Descartes and fix the tons of bugs it contains!!!

Another Update -

Spoke with a representative and they reassured me there is a new release coming out soon so let's hope they make a lot of fixes! I'll be sure to test it out and let anyone know of any positive or negative changes!

It would be helpful if we could have ease of signature when we are done with delivery.

Need a fix for Apple version to allow adjustment of the orientation of a picture. I have to hold my IPhone in landscape position to get a portrait orientation. Also suggest a feature to allow drivers to email themselves a summary of the trip at the end for payroll purposes . Drivers often have to keep such records manually to make sure they get paid properly. The summary should include the trip number, miles, stop information-name & location and number of stops, any pay notes entered. Obviously It doesn’t need anything confidential like BOL images or proprietary customer info.

I believe Descartes could use a new feature that will allow delivery drivers to view their stops Pinned on the map within Descartes . Stops could be out of place or not routed in order and theres no way of seen that in Descartes .

The camera works fine besides not having the zoom work anymore also realized that we used to be able to take as many photos as we could for shipments now it crashes after 8/10 photos I sometimes have more then 15 to 20 orders and it’s very hard to snapshot each order when it keeps crashing

Descartes is easy to navigate and runs smoothly I am an iPhone user and the only issue I have is I have no way of knowing where my stops are located on the map, I’m relying solely on dispatch to correctly route them.I have no way of seeing my pinned stops on a map so I can decide which way I’m going first I feel like I’m driving blind!! and with all the technology of today I shouldn’t have to look them up on Google myself and order them correctly outside Descartes .

I am a contractor for Home Depot and I deliver and install appliances in peoples homes the issue is all I can do on Descartes is take pictures which doesn’t prevent a customer from damaging something when I leave their home.. if I had the option of a 10 sec video it would save me from customer filing claims please consider

Descartes is in a much better state. Rather than a year ago. It’s just harder for live updates when you are communicating with your dispatch and you upload a cord specifically it does not show up immediately on the order that’s usually the only problems I have with it and also Descartes has coloring issues and you don’t know when you can or cannot take a picture at times I feel like a update every 2 weeks will be necessary just for performance purposes.

With the latest update, everything is running smoothly. Makes life a whole lot easier for the drivers on the road and everyone in the back office. Real time info and communication between the systems is key.
