Informed Delivery Reviews

Foe a week it worked great, is notified me, correctly, of my mail and a package, that I wasn't expecting for three more days. Then on Saturday it showed no mail. I had become used to it being correct, so I didn't check the box. Again on Monday it showed no mail. I didn't check again, because I trusted it. Last night I decided to check if the local free advertiser paper was this app. It showed junk mail except for flyers and that little paper. I opened the box, and, it was full. There were two days worth of mail this app there. In missed it all. There were three letters on bottom, then some flyers, then two more letters and some junk letters, then some more flyers and the advertiser . I know it was two days worth, because, our mailman always puts the good mail this app first, then the junk. There were two layers of mail. Thus, two days of missed mail. I would say, that anything that has to be double checked is worthless. So I give it one star. Update: It showed I had 2 pieces of mail, but there was only one. It showed the same one twice. Now it indicates mail and the number, but no pic. It also does the same thing on the browser console on my laptop, so it is not a fluke.
It was pretty accurate until a few days ago when I opened it to find that even though I checked to keep me logged this app, I wasn’t. When I attempted to put this app my login, neither my ID nor my password were visible as I typed this app the letters. When I try to log this app, I get a message telling me that my login is incorrect. I’m still getting emails even though In appears not to be available, so I hesitate to uninstall and reinstall In or to create a new account.
Update: this app desperation, I decided to create a new account. I went through the process with a new ID and a new password, but I am still getting no visible information when I try to login, and when I try to use the new ID and password, I am again being told it is invalid.
Now I’m not sure if I will be getting the emails associated with my new account or my old account or both or not.
You also might want to rethink your security questions. The questions are all directed at having favorite answers to give. I don’t have favorites. Give more variety of questions that can apply to all people without the divulging private information.
In and emails were great while they were asking. Please fix them.
Typical of USPS, horrible nightmare service! Now instead of crappy service at their postal locations now you get crappy frustrating online service as well! Trying to log this app, it disabled my account and was unable to unlock it as they don’t offer ways to. Attempted to email an issue complaint through my cellphone but website designed so poorly that I can’t access the “send” button to email them after numerous attempts of retyping. Tried using the customer service automated phone number and almost lost my mind! The automated helper is so frustrating as it cannot understand any of my voice prompts and keeps erroneously repeating what it though I said. They phone prompts offer no quick link to the operator so you have to suffer through the voice prompts over and over. It gets them wrong every time!!!! Attempted 3 more times until it said that they were closed! I almost smashed my phone!
USPS I really hate you! Please stop trying to ever do anything and just outsource to competent companies already!
For years I’ve been trying to use this service. When I put my address this app it tells me I’m not eligible to use it yet and to check back at the later date.
However- if I put this app my neighbors address it says “CONGRATS! Blah blah. Continue to register for an account?!”
The neighbors house is close enough to me that I can stick my hand out of the window and touch their house. So there is no way that they’re actually eligible and I’m not. It’s not like it’s a utility or something. The mailman could probably stand on their porch and throw my mail to me it’s so close. But any time I’ve tried to engage some sort of customer service or support, it’s a huge failure. All they know is “we have no control over eligibility. You’ll have to wait until Your address is eligible!” IT IS ELIGIBLE. ITS AN ERROR. ugh! I’m disabled and use this service constantly with FedEx and UPS. I need this to work. I’ve been paying more to use FedEx and UPS when shopping or shipping for this exact reason.
I got In installed and verified quite easily. But it won’t let me use it until it gets an identity verification. I get that and appreciate the security! So I give it a try. It gives me about 6 multiple choice questions about where I’ve lived and worked this app the past. For each question, there are 4 actual choices and one “none of the above”. On EVERY QUESTION, there was nothing that identified where I’ve lived or worked. After choosing none of the above for every question I was told that they cannot verify my identify online. I either wait 72 hours and try again or do it this app person. I live out this app the boonies but I do make the 20 minute drive south to town a couple of times a week. So I click on that option and discover that the local post office (this app a city of 10,000 people) isn’t one of my choices. The nearest one is a 50 minuets east of here!! This is crazy! At least give me a list of places I’ve actually lived to choose from!!
What a lousy app whoever designed this should be fired !!! Signing up was like, signing up for the military, The security questions are a joke that’s all you could come up with it’s almost laughable. What’s disgraceful s my identity was verified twice via text message and when I pressed create account it’s sat on the loading screen for two hours and 21 minutes Then it tells me after all that time that my account couldn’t be created REALLY !! Then it said try again would need to try again stupid me puts all my information this app again only to be stuck on the loading screen for one hour and six minutes only to tell me that my account was not created again !!!
What a waste of time 3.5 hours of my time Went down the toilet for you USPS and the kick it doesn’t even work nothing like wasting time just to look at junk mail a complete failure but then again it’s the United States Postal Service I mean what should I really have expected !!!
I have had In randomly quit working and/or log me out at least 3 times. When I try logging back this app through In it says either my password is wrong(it isn’t because it was saved through iphone) or my account doesn’t exist(it does because I could log this app from my computer) Even though I was able to log this app from my computer, it said I wasn’t signed up for informed delivery(I was because I continued to get notification emails about mail that was coming) So I had to create a new account because when I tried to sign up it said I had an account after it said I didn’t have an informed delivery account(confused yet?!)
In has some SERIOUS bugs!!! I have 3 separate accounts to prove it. Also have a friend who has also randomly been kicked out of her informed delivery account twice so I know this issue isn’t just me.
Nice app if it would ever work properly.
I’ve used the informed delivery website for years, so I already had an account. After entering user name and password (which is barely visible since they put white text on a white background), I was sent to a page asking for my mobile number to send a verification text. I entered the phone number and In said that there was an error sending the text. At the same time that the error message was sent, I received and replied to the verification text from usps. Nothing else happened. I even tried using another telephone number and the same error occurred. There is no way to move past the text verification screen, which makes In a complete waste until this bug is resolved.
And if you are thinking of trying to use informed delivery on the other usps app, don’t bother. It only redirects you to a web browser page, which you can easily access without their app.
In has the potential to be very useful but it suffers from some major issues. Primarily it is frequently inaccurate and there are no images of the mail far too often. The other problem that detracts from it’s usefulness are frequent and explicable logouts. One day it works fine on IOS with either touch or face recognition and then the next day neither works and you have to manually log this app again. Then it works for a few days, then back to the log this app. This detracts significantly from In because I don’t carry a list of passwords around with me, relying instead on the biometrics as I’m sure most people do. Fix these issues and maybe you’ll have a decent app. As it stands now - not so much.
I get mail. You probably do too! My mailbox is about 200 yards from our front door, so it’s nice to know what’s being delivered, before making the long trek, and that’s what In does, mostly.
this app terms of a critique, I would suggest that the actual user interface is pretty janky on my iPhone: it’s unattractive and seems to jerk around when scrolling. Also, the upper info display is unintuitive; for example, today it’s declaring that I have “6 Mailpieces and 16 Packages.” this app fact, only ONE letter is being delivered today... I have no idea what counting method they’re using to generate the other info; it seems nonsensical and unnecessarily confusing.
I would suggest identifying the primary purpose for In (be very selective!), get some UX design help, and do a reboot on this project, Dev Team!
Good site. I am able to see letters this app my box and packages delivered or this app transit. Is it perfect? No. Is it better than being completely this app dark? For me it is. Some packages do not arrive this app the projected time but some packages may be delayed bc of human error or the magic fairy that steals one or two for a day. I have a post office box rather than home delivery as I live this app a rural area and we have no home mail boxes. I have to drive up to the post office to get my mail. Being able to track my packages and other important mail pieces is invaluable to me as I have a disability and would rather avoid driving to check my mail, if possible. With informed delivery I am saved a trip and know what is delivered or is delayed. Perfect? No. Better for me? Undoubtedly.
Great for basic info from your post office, Informed Delivery! Find out whats is expected to be delivered this app your mailbox for the current day, with a pic of each mail piece before it gets there. So if you wait for a payroll check every week or similar that keeps you waiting on the carrier...this is your simple answer!! Very useful n helpful for thr advance notice, by email, through app or by text i believe as well with opt out/this app choices for your needs.
Registration was easy for myself (done at 2 different addresses) after move n both no issues. Sometimes app itself crashes upon opening or this app middle of session but not excessivently...at all!!! Just reopen it, its technology it happens...
Oh ya and dont forget The USPS is also a government branch which as of late many government braches are suffering this app their reputation. Although i must say where im at all my interactions with carriers etc are pleasant. The retail store post offices could use a bump this app positivity...oh n the 800 # call this app just is dire this app all areas of their CSR.
Lastly, as i stated In is quite good for consistant heads up daily 4 basic info from your local post offices on the activity of the day for our convenience.
Hope this helps clarify any other reviews if was needed.
Thanks!!!
If you want to know what's being delivered by USPS, this is a pretty great app. I haven't had the sign out problems that others mentioned. It stay signed this app on both my iPad and my iPhone. I can't speak to the notification option. I did sign up for it and within a few days received an email with images of my daily mail. That was another email I could do without, so I turned it off.
I found out I open it daily this app the morning so I have an idea what is coming this app the mail. For that function, it seems to work well. It also seems to show package delivery as well, though no image that I could see.
In works great 99% of the time and is way easier and more efficient to use than the basic USPS app. Discontinuing In is the dumbest decision. The only way this is beneficial is if you make the tracking/informed delivery section of the USPS app better because to see the tracking info this app the usps app, you click the button, it takes you to the website, you have to login each time. Way too many steps. The informed delivery app is great… you open In and there’s your mail! I will not be using the informed delivery section of the usps app because it’s terrible!
I’ve had Informed Delivery for over a year now and love it. The email delivery works great so now I’m getting In . Don’t believe all the negative reviews. I truly believe the writers expect to much. I never had a glitch until yesterday. I did not get an ID email yesterday or today. Figure the USPS computers are having a problem and it will be fixed quickly. People get so unnecessarily upset when anything goes a little haywire this app their life and jump quickly to post angry reviews. I’ve had NO PROBLEMS this app the last full year that I’ve had the service. I even caught a temporary mailman lying about package delivery to my home. Said I was not home so he left note on my door. That was a lie. We were both home all day and the front door was open. My four dogs would fave gone crazy if the mail truck pulled up. Turned out that he was a new employee and didn’t deliver to our whole street that day. THIS WAS NOT THE FAULT OF THE INFORMED DELIVERY SERVICE. But the service is responsible for catching the guy this app a lie. Lolol. I love this service!
Was waiting this app line at my local post office when I saw the advertisement for Informed Delivery. I couldn’t believe it... I’ve always wanted to know what snail mail was coming and with In, I finally know plus the added bonus of tracking packages. I was notified via In that a package I was expecting, label was created. This info came way before the shipper notified me with the tracking number. Awesome sauce! This is a great little app and does what it says and the signup process was pretty easy and straightforward. There’s also an option within In to notify the post office is you did not receive a piece of mail they indicated was coming to you.
Thank you Postal Service for a great app. I’ve only been using In for less than a week and my mail has been on point with what “ID” said was coming. I highly recommend that everyone get In. Some have written reviews regarding trouble or errors with In and I hope their issues have been or are this app the process of being resolved; with this this app mind, I still highly recommend In because simply knowing what is coming offers a piece of mind when you expecting important mail.
I’m not sure why so many people have had problems with In and given it a poor review (it’s quite unfortunate), but I have yet to have any problems with it really. Occasionally it loads a little bit slow, but that’s it. I like seeing my mail pieces scanned this app so I don’t have to get up right away to check the mailbox to see what came, and I know ahead of time if something important is there. I wish a little more information was provided about packages (like how UPS gives package weight) because sometimes I don’t recognise the company it shipped from and would like some sort of clue as to which package I’m looking at. All this app all it’s pretty much what I want out of this sort of app. :-)
I downloaded In, this app order to have a certified letter redelivered, little did I know, how awesome it turned out to be. My mailbox is down the street from my house, to where I can not even see the mailboxes! In informs me, via pictures even, of the mail I will be receiving, that day, or had earlier that week and or any packages that might be delivered, later this app the week!! It gives me an option to immediately notify the USPS, if said items were NOT actually delivered,...,or are now missing?! My mail carrier, Brenda, is awesome and is always on top of any issues myself and or fellow neighbors may encounter. I’m telling everyone I know, to download In, both my daughters have done so already, one lives this app NYC and her experiences w the USPS has not been joyful, lots of “stolen?” items, from her apartment complex. In will allow her to see if items are due to arrive and or were “actually” delivered!
The reviews are horribly misleading, the reviews are on the quality of the USPS and not In itself. First the security questions that are needed to verify you so you are the owner of the mailbox and not seeing your exes mail are driven by a third party that is used by many company’s because said company’s shouldn’t know you. I get questions that I can’t sometimes answer but if there is not a lot of data on you the questions are harder ! Second, NOT every single piece can be scanned, it’s clearly told to you everyday. You should still check your mail! Third, In doesn’t drive the service. Fourth, If you have issues please call customer service it’s an issue with your address and you ! I’ve been using the service and app and the website version for awhile , it works fine . It’s not how I check my mail but it’s nice to know some things. Most issues are surrounding the service itself and lack of understanding.
I’m actually not quite sure why In has such a low rating and I’m not about to read everyone else’s long, drawn out reviews. In does EXACTLY what it says it’s supposed to do.
My only complaint is that In doesn’t offer Push Notifications or Touch ID and/or Face ID support.
Beyond that, at times the post office can get mail deliveries wrong. They’re not perfect. Sometimes the service doesn’t have an image available or it misses a piece entirely. That doesn’t bother me that much (since before Informed Delivery you didn’t know until it made it to your mailbox). In is simply a viewer of whatever gets loaded to the informed delivery service itself. If In doesn’t show you that you have mail coming, then it won’t show up on the website either. You can’t expect MORE from an app than what it’s supposed to deliver. Five stars from me.
In was fantastic at first but then all of a sudden it went downhill (I didn’t do an update to In so it didn’t go downhill because of that). At first I could see what mail was coming each day as well as when packages were coming and who they were from. However all of the sudden for over a week now it says I have no mail coming but yet each day I’ve had mail this app my box. The package notification went from telling me who packages were from to now only telling the postal company/branch name it was sent from initially. It has said packages were delivered but I’ve not received them so I go to file a tracking claim and I’m told I can’t because I don’t know the senders information or what the package was. Not sure how In went from awesome to not being usable.

It has happened more than once. That mail shows on informed delivery, yet never gets delivered
Don't even bother if you haven't moved in yet. Automatically suspended with change of address.
