Buggy app, crashes a lot, and makes you watch too many apps. Just skip it and get your news elsewhere. Would give zero stars if I could.

CBS Local: Like just about everything to do with CBS lately, CBSLocal is awful. I go to a new story to see a local NEWS VIDEO. But CBS, you greedy idiots, have to play an advertisement first. OK. The ad plays fine, and then the news story starts, and hangs about 10 seconds into the story. After a long pause, CBSLocal crashes. As usual.

Bad enough, but when it relaunches to the story again, I have to watch the ad again. Seriously? Could you get any greedier? And before EVERY short news video! Give us a break from ads. But I suspect this will be a paid app soon anyway.

First CBS All Access where you have to pay to stream WITH commercials. You are the only network that when one subscribes on cable or satellite, they still have to pay extra for the streaming service. You hold your channels hostage on Dish for more money, costing subscribers more. Now, ads before EVERY news video in your local app, where that video is usually shorter than the ad. Why not just come into my house and steal things while your at it?

Oh, and feedback inside CBSLocal ? IT STILL DOES NOT WORK! CBSLocal feedback email ALWAYS says try again in a few minutes. Seriously, are you guys for real? If you don’t want feedback, remove the button at least.

Woman trying to put gas in her car is not even mentioned on this site at this time after is been on the news. I live around the corner from that and I had just gotten home before that happened. I don’t know why it’s not mentioned but praying for the lady and hope she turns out to have a full recovery because that is a dangerous road and up to that area at night there are no lights and if they’re speeding it makes it even worse and so many people that ride that road are not aware of it & appears to be scared to even drive. I drive it every day at least two and three times a day & I know every crack and cranny in that road.

The live streaming video of the newscast seems to nothing more than a frozen image of the White House. I've sat through the stupidly long California Walnut commercial three times and still the show does not stream or even appear.
But to make the issue even worse, I've also tried to send an email through the "contact support" option well over ten times now. I continually get a "try again later error". Should I try a different support line to figure out why I can't contact support?

I have deleted and re-downloaded CBSLocal , which is still the same version, 2.2.10. As President Trump would say, "#Sad."

I downloaded CBSLocal so I could watch the CBS 2 New York news if I was not home. Now that my cable company has removed this station (I live in PA), I used it much more. The last several days the news feed has not worked. I put up with the lousy one-story front page, but this is ridiculous. The website works, so it’s not the CBS feed. I tried CBSLocal on 3 different devices (iPhone and iPad running iOS 11 and iPhone running iOS 12), and none of them worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled CBSLocal . Still nothing. Please fix this! CBSLocal needs major updates and fixes as it hasn’t been updated in a year!

CBSLocal was ok before. Not the fastest at getting news reports and reports would often sit for days (months even) so not always something new and interesting. But now they’ve started putting out news alerts from CBSLocal but it’s just self advertising for their weather reports, so many times a day now, it’s gotten ridiculous. Yes, we KNOW you have the weather, we KNOW we can see it on your app or watch on tv; we don’t need reminded multiple times a day. Alerts should only be for breaking news and not self advertising. It feels like commercials or ads interrupting my day. About ready to uninstall and just use WTAE’s app...

I’d say once or twice a month CBSLocal is problematic.
During those times, I attempt to play a video (usually the weather report). CBSLocal crashes repeatedly.
I attempt to submit a comment. CBSLocal crashes.
Once the weather video crashed CBSLocal but the other videos played correctly.
CBSLocal is better than coping with their website. That experience is worse. The ads tend to cause problems with the video player. That problem is more consistent than CBSLocal problem.

I have been using CBSLocal for over a month, and I have seen none of the “buggy”issues that several reviewers have mentioned. CBSLocal has worked just fine for me. I guess the people forgot that this is a mobile app and that your reception quality relies highly upon your location, connection quality, and your equipment that is being used.

I have been a huge fan of CBS Los Angeles for years and really enjoyed their Facebook live coverage of breaking news (Bring back Stu to FB live!), so when they stopped live coverage on FB, I downloaded CBSLocal. IF a notification even comes through, 9 times out of 10 I go to CBSLocal and watch five minutes of commercials like an idiot before going back to facebook and watch the coverage from a competitor. Huge fail CBS, you have no idea how many fans you lost by trying to make money. Uninstalling now.

I would like to give CBSLocal a 5 star rating
but I cannot. The problem is the first commercial. Sometimes it will not stream or it stops and starts. By the time I get to the end of the commercial the news cast is half done.

CBSLocal is horrible! It does not show all of the current news stories, sometimes there is even a blank page. When I open CBSLocal on my iPhone or iPad, on the news sections, it shows a few stories from weeks prior. I even uninstalled and then reinstalled CBSLocal , thinking that might solve this problem, but no such luck! It would appear that CBSLocal is in serious need of an update or even an overhaul! I will be keeping CBSLocal off my devices and go with more reliable news apps!

I for one enjoy the journalist and reporters here and CBSLocal is definitely one that I want and like any it’s depending on where you are and what signal you are receiving on what device. I’m satisfied with it and is one that I prefer to use and get accurate information about what is going on in this world

Had to delete app, the pop up ads are everywhere, horrible can’t even read the news without being kicked out without an ad. Finally, the new weather guy is annoying. I have to switch to another local weather report because he is condescending and frankly, unwatchable. The rest of the news crew rocks.

Not sure why all these other reviews are so bad. I love being able to watch the news live. It keeps me informed every time I click on CBSLocal . Love CBS News. Thank you.

CBSLocal has all the local news and weather information you need. Since Cleveland doesn't have a CBS O and O, I use one of the major citys, and get news from there sources. Other then that, I love CBSLocal .

Even after update, while listening to a station and you choose a news article, the radio stops. Even if there’s no video in the article. You have to swipe out of the article and restart the radio.

And CBSLocal freezes a lot. What a shame. I like the news radio I listen to in the morning. I just have to read a different station’s news articles at the same time.
