There are a few things you must do and know before canceling subscriptions. They are:
- Check the Terms, Service policy or Privacy policy of myGMC to know if they support self-serve subscription cancellation or account deletion:
- Once you subscribe to a plan and you don't cancel it manually like you subscribed, that plan will renew automatically because you gave the permission.
- When you subscribe for a trial period and then you cancel, you run the risk of losing that trial content altogether.
- You must remember to manually cancel a subscription 24 hours before the trial period ends.

How to Cancel myGMC Subscription on your iPhone or iPad.
- First, open the settings app and tap on your name.
- Then, tap on the "Subscriptions" tab.
(Note that you might not automatically see this tab. In that case, tap on iTunes & Appstore) - Next, tap on your Apple ID. View Apple ID then sign in and scroll down to the "Subscriptions" button.
- Next, tap on myGMC (subscription) you want to review.
- Now, Tap on Cancel.
(Note that if you don't see a "Cancel Subscription" button for myGMC, then it's definitely canceled already. It won't be renewed anymore).
How to Cancel myGMC Subscription on your Android device
To cancel myGMC subscription on Android, you need to realize that deleting the myGMC app alone won't cut it. Follow the steps below:
- First, open the Google Play Store. If you have multiple Google accounts, be sure you're signed into the right one.
- Click on menu, then go to "Subscriptions".
- Choose the myGMC subscription you wish to cancel and tap on the "Cancel Subscription" option.
- Finish up as directed.
Once your myGMC subscription has been removed from Google Play, your future subscriptions will be cancelled and won't be renewed anymore.
How do I remove my Card from myGMC?
Removing card details from myGMC if you subscribed directly is very tricky. Very few websites allow you to remove your card details. So you will have to make do with some few tricks before and after subscribing on websites in the future.
Before Signing up or Subscribing:

How to Cancel myGMC Subscription on a Mac computer.
To cancel myGMC subscription on your Mac, do the following:
- First open the Mac App Store, then click on your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Click on the "View Information" tab at the top of the window and sign in if asked to do so.
- Scroll down on the next page shown to you until you see the "Subscriptions" tab then click on "Manage".
- Click "Edit" beside the myGMC app and then click on "Cancel Subscription".
Note: Always make sure to use the exact username and ID you used to set up the subscription to manage that subscription when necessary. This is sometimes different from the Apple ID or Android brand ID you have set up.
If you don't remember your password however, contact the App for help/to reset password.
How to Cancel myGMC Subscription on Paypal.
To cancel your myGMC subscription on PayPal, do the following:
- First log into your PayPal account at www.paypal.com .
- Click on the settings tab which is beside the logout option.
- Press "Payments" from the menu provided to you and click on "Manage Automatic Payments" in the Automatic Payments dashboard.
- You'll be shown a series of merchants' agreement you've transacted before. Click on "myGMC" or "General Motors Company" to cancel.
- You will be shown a confirmation page. Click on the "Cancel Automatic Payments" tab to affirm that you want to stop making payments to myGMC.
- Then click "Done" on the verification page to complete the unsubscription.
What to do if you subscribed directly on myGMC's website?
Here's how to cancel your myGMC subscription when billed through a payments provider that is not the Appstore, Playstore or Paypal.
Sometimes, you may start a subscription directly on a company's website without using an extra layer of security like Paypal or Apple. To unsubscribe, you might have to sign into myGMC's website or directly reach out to their payments provider.
Generally, here are some steps you can take if you find yourself in that fix:
- Finding the company's information, then reach out to them directly: Get all myGMC's contact details here
- If the company has an app they developed in the Appstore, you can try contacting General Motors Company (the app developer) for help through the details of the app.
How to delete myGMC account
You might have created an account on myGMC during the course of using the app. Many apps make it so easy to signup but a nightmare to delete your account. We try to make it easier but since we don't have information for every app, we can only do our best.
Generally, here are some steps you can take if you need your account deleted:

To delete myGMC from your iPhone, Follow these steps:
- On your homescreen, Tap and hold myGMC until it starts shaking.
- Once it starts to shake, you'll see an X Mark at the top of the app icon.
- Click on that X to delete the myGMC app from your phone.
Method 2:
Go to Settings and click on General then click on "iPhone Storage". You will then scroll down to see the list of all the apps installed on your iPhone. Tap on the app you want to uninstall and delete the app.
For iOS 11 and above:
Go into your Settings and click on "General" and then click on iPhone Storage. You will see the option "Offload Unused Apps". Right next to it is the "Enable" option. Click on the "Enable" option and this will offload the apps that you don't use.
Delete myGMC from Android
- First open the Google Play app, then press the hamburger menu icon on the top left corner.
- After doing these, go to "My Apps and Games" option, then go to the "Installed" option.
- You'll see a list of all your installed apps on your phone.
- Now choose myGMC, then click on "uninstall".
- Also you can specifically search for the app you want to uninstall by searching for that app in the search bar then select and uninstall.

When I found out this was a thing for vehicles my first thought was, “for why?” But then after my first trip leaving my truck at the airport not remembering if I had locked up my truck or not, knowing my key’s signal could. It reach I tried out the lock system. The app let me know that my truck locked up. The. When I came back from my trip I did not remember where my truck was parked. The app let me know where my truck was located. I was even able to honk the horn to find my truck. In another situation we had our windshield cracked and the repair man needed to take my truck but I was in a meeting at work and couldn’t leave. He texted me that he was at the truck so I simply unlocked the truck and he was able to do the repair and texted me when he was done so I locked it back up. The starting the truck was a little weird cause my thought was if I am near my truck than, my keys will reach but it does not work when you have to park a block away and your truck in in a parking garage. In the winter months I get my truck all warmed up before I take off now. The watch app needs some work. Every operation has to be done twice.

I have on star on my Malibu and GMC Acadia there was a large piece of wood in the middle of the road and before I could steer clear it hit both my driver side and driver side passenger tires denting in the rims And ruined both tires on the Malibu Understandably I was freaking out thinking about the super expensive tow bill and having to replace both rims and tires. After calling family and no help there I decided to push that little blue button and they completely saved my day I had no idea free towing came with the package I can full heartedly say I love onstar and they have earned a lifelong customer. If you have a GMC product get on star it’s money well spent!!! P.S my wife loves it to when she gets lost.

There are too many places where you have to use a password or touch ID. You should have to use touch ID to unlock your truck to start your truck but not to lock your truck. You should have to use your password only once, like every other software to enter the program. Once you’re in the program you should be able to do what you want to do without having to use touch ID every time you want to make an action. Other than my complaint about the use of a password, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five, the program is awesome.

First off I’ll start by saying this is an awesome app. I love having the ability to check fuel levels, oil life, driving habits, pretty much everything the app contains. The only thing that would make this better in my mind is if there was a 3D virtual image of my truck that I could see, or at least something that resembles it, so I could check if it’s locked, if a door was left ajar, if it’s running, etc. at a glance instead of having to check a log that showed the last time a vehicle function was accessed. That would also give users a chance to swipe between multiple GM vehicles and check their status, or even see them in a garage format. This is just my two cents, and I have no idea how to develop an app or anything like what I described above, so kudos to anyone who can put this into action. Other than that, it’s a great app and definitely very useful. I’m sure once I’ve had my truck for more than 24 hours I will adjust to the app and it’s functionality, and find many more useful features that I haven’t discovered yet. Four stars for now, and I won’t even hesitate to go five stars if this is incorporated into a future update. Great app!

Overall it's a solid app. It does the basic stuff well. I primarily use it for remote start which is great since its essentially unlimited range. I've also been able to unlock my wife's truck for her when she accidentally locked her keys in it. It works well the majority of the time, but can sometimes have an issue with a signal getting through if you're in a parking garage - which I assume is a function of the service provider not the app itself. Overall its a very convenient tool to have. One thing to watch for -- if you have two GMC vehicles on the app, double check to make sure you have the correct vehicle selected. I have started our other vehicle by mistake when it's sitting in the garage. To the developer: it would be nice if the banner image reflected the vehicle currently selected, instead of a generic GMC line up. That would provide an easy identifier for those of us with multiple GMC vehicles to quickly confirm which vehicle is selected. Even allowing the user to upload an image would be a useful option.
