ABOUT THE APP

Give up technology? Take cold showers? Abstain from alcohol? All around the world, thousands of men find themselves trapped in negative, habitual thought and behavior patterns. You know what we're talking about: endless scrolling through useless noise, unending binges of shows you stopped caring about three seasons ago, two-three-four-five drinks per night celebrating nothing in particular, we live for the weekends and then waste them away. Surely, we were made for more than this. Exodus 90 is an introduction to a different kind of life: a life of responsibility and meaning and freedom. Freedom from our vices and freedom to live a life for others: our families, friends, and communities. Exodus 90 calls you to follow a disciplined life of prayer, asceticism, and fraternity. Over the course of ninety days, you will say goodbye to creature comforts and find new life in Christ. You'll enter into silent prayer each day. And you'll undertake this journey with a band of brothers to provide encouragement (and correction) along the way. After ninety days of prayerful meditation in Exodus 90, you and your fraternity will continue your journey of prayer, asceticism, and fraternity through the Biblical Series--three years' worth of spiritual journeys through the books of the Bible from Genesis to the Acts of the Apostles. Just like the Israelites whose journey to ultimate freedom did not come to fruition until the coming of Jesus Christ, so too for us our journey to freedom is ongoing. Why Exodus 90 & The Biblical Series? • Exodus is effective. More than 99% of men who complete Exodus 90 report being more free from unhealthy attachments. • Exodus increases men's faith satisfaction, helps them spend 46% more time in prayer, and increases their participation at church. The first 7 days of Exodus 90 and all the Biblical Series exercises are completely free to new men. On Day 8 of your first spiritual journey, you'll be invited to join Exodus Membership. Worth it but needs some improvement

App is great, program at its core is great. I would recommend this program to any catholic looking to deepen their faith and ultimately change their life. It is hard but sometimes we need things to be hard. However, my biggest issue is the Fraternity aspect and how it relates to the family. Every fraternity isn’t the same and sometimes Parish’s that do it with multiple groups will randomize the fraternity members. This does make sense in the way that you’d be grouped with people you wouldn’t normally get to know. However, in our case, it was 3 young married men w/toddlers, one single, and 3 older men with kids out of the house or in college. Sometimes groups value different things and with the new idea (meaning I don’t see it in the 2017 exodus book from when I first did the program) that the fraternity relaxes a discipline together I think it simply doesn’t work. It caused some strife in our group because everyone is in a different season and everyone’s family is different and has different needs and celebrates the sabbath differently. I think a cool idea would be to include with the fraternity relaxed discipline would be to allow the family or the wife to choose one discipline for the exodus man to relax on Sunday. In addition to the fraternity one. The exodus man is still not in control plus if your family celebrates the sabbath a certain way, you are free to do so.

My Best Self

It seems counterintuitive, but living without all these human comforts actually opens me up to others and gives me incredible joy. I couldn’t believe how much time I actually have in a day when I’m not wasting it watching TV. It’s not easy, but it’s well worth the effort and time. Also, starting every morning with a holy hour and ending with an Examen has brought me closer to the Lord than I’ve ever been. It’s changed the way I think and feel about people throughout the day in an enormous way. I actually notice a big difference in myself when I don’t pray in a day. God’s grace is REAL and very potent. I’ve grown deeper in my relationship with Christ through this spiritual exercise and have reaped the fruits of his love for me. This is my second time doing it. The last time after day 91, I noticed that as much as I tried to keep the disciplines I tapered off from them over time. I recommend doing this 90 day cleanse at least once a year. I might even start doing it for Lent and Advent ever year. It’s a great way to prepare yourself to receive the Lord on great feast days! This way you “move the needle” a bit each time you do it until you’ve molded your life around Jesus permanently. Keeping the fraternity is a good idea too, but I feel like that’s easier said than done. I guess I’ll find out soon. God bless!

Day 45 and more alive

Cutting out the distractions in my life and focusing that time on my family and the lord have been amazing. I have more energy and feel a sense of calm and peace in work and home situations that used to get me angry. I’m getting projects done around the house and improving my own health. I’m Down 20 lbs and feeling great. Eating good foods, fasting and no sugary drinks and snacks has been a huge blessing. Sadly I couldn’t find a fraternity to join or convince others to join my journey, but I’ve been checking in on a few friends who support me and that in itself has me feeling more connected. My wife may even join me for the last 40 days as she’s been watching the news too much and getting stressing about things. She’s seen how it’s transformed me and is overjoyed. I probably sound like I’m exaggerating — and I’m a little surprised myself, but life seems easier and more full, Vs hours on Facebook or Netflix always feeling tired and empty. I feel like I am treating people better and helping spread joy all while spending my valuable time on earth in a more useful way. “Be not afraid” & “Here I am lord”. Two of my favorite hymns and great words to live by. Peace and love. Matt

Fraternity of men

Back in December 2019 five of us took on the Exodus 90 day challenge. With every cold shower, every missed televised sporting event, every soon forgotten candy bar and alcoholic drink our prayer life and our weekly fraternity meeting filled the holes/wounds that seperated from our full potential as men, fathers and husbands slowly healed. At the end of the 90 days those things that caused us each individually such spiritual and personal strife were still there waiting to pat us on the back and welcome us back. So we agreed to continue on with Exodus 91. Although the cold showers have not returned many various other challenges in forms of acseticisms and prayerful commitments to our Lord continue to strengthen our fraternity bonds and bless our families nearly 2 years later. As I prepare to enter year three I know that I speak for my fraternity brothers along with a lifelong friend who was and still is my anchor man since day one and has agreed to be there with me in year three is to pick up your crosses and strive to be the man that you were called to be through prayer and asceticism in Exodus 90. You have nothing to lose and your friends, family and community have everything to gain.

Intuitive UI, Clean Design, Incredibly Useful

Having been through Exodus 90 once before with the book, I was highly skeptical about using an app this time around. To my surprise, the app was not only more convenient than the book but it truly helped our fraternity stay more accountable throughout the spiritual exercise—and in turn, made the entire experience more fruitful. I love how the app simplifies every part of the journey—communication/accountability with the fraternity, daily readings and meditations, and notes for personal reflection. And as someone who works in marketing for a living I’m quite picky (read highly critical) about UI, aesthetic design, and functionality of apps. I can’t believe how intuitive and clean this app is; especially for a small nonprofit. It’s truly incredible what the Exodus 90 team has created and I can’t wait for additional features to be released! Beyond the app, the journey through Exodus 90 has truly been life changing. It’s been years since I’ve had a fraternity like my Exodus group and I owe my thanks to this organization.
