How to Cancel BofA Prepaid

I was very excited when I heard that there was a new app for Bank of America prepaid cards, I also read all the reviews and I became a bit scared to download it because I was afraid ir wouldn’t work. But it worked just fine for me. I have an IPhone 8 I entered my information created a log in with no problem, entered my card info and Voilà it worked. Maybe take your time to enter your information. I use mine to keep track of child support deposits. Hope this helps. Thank you for this app BOA.

This app gets slammed hard in the vast majority of reviews, and IMO it doesn’t deserve such harsh criticism. It’s true that you can’t move money around, but that’s not what this app was created to do. Here’s a list of the useful things it does, all without failure: 1. Displays your current balance 2. Displays recent translations 3. Offers balance quick look 4. Alerts when money is deposited 5. Alerts on definable low balance 6. Supports multiple debit cards 7. Supports Touch ID 8. It locates bank branches 9. It’s much faster than the website I gave it 4 stars because push notifications are not enabled on my device, despite allowing them in iOS Settings. This app is designed for you to quickly check your balance, see your history and set up alerts to notify you when things happen. It does that pretty well. It does not make your former spouse pay child support on time. It doesn’t fix problems with your account and it doesn’t move your money around. When I first read the reviews here, it sounded like the app set your device on fire. It does not. It runs, the features work and it appears to be very stable.

Title and rating says it all. Someone claimed the app deserves a little credit for doing well with what little it does. Well, banks don’t extend unwarranted credit and neither do I. Firstly, the app used to be just fine. It allowed you to receive the money on your card, acted like a viewable bank account for that card, and then ALSO let you transfer that balance ELSEWHERE. But that means Bank of America might not keep access to your funds, and banks use funds. They need your cash to stay with them. So they updated the app. And now you can literally just look at your money with their app. That’s it. That’s all it “does”. I’m not impressed with an app that opens when you click it. The bar is higher than that. I’m not interested in their app telling me about atms. I already know about atms, or I can google it. What I can’t do with google is transfer my money. I literally could do that with THIS app one month ago. Sorry folks, big business keeps winning. It doesn’t get better. -3 stars if I could.

I give plasma and am forced to have this prepaid card so I can get my money. BoA has done everything to make sure they get a cut of it. You can’t get your money out of your card without getting charged fees. Windrawals from a BoA ATM has a fee. Transferring funds to your bank account? Forget it. The app doesn’t even do that. If they did you better believe they’d charge you. BoA, do you like being garbage? Do you enjoy being the only ones that steal other people’s money? I thought so.

This is the ONLY banking service I’ve ever used that does not allow me to transfer funds. Absolutely ridiculous. This lack of feature only appeals to the company not the consumer. I have this prepaid card through a plasma donation company and now have to use an ATM to get my money? Seriously?
