Dev is a hustler. Maybe this is a good app for playing videos, but who can tell? When you start playing a video, it directs you to make an in-app purchase in order to continue. You've gotta be kidding me. App looks like it was written 8 years ago, along with the pricing!

This used to be a good and usable app. But now, you’re only allowed to see a couple of minutes of videos then a black screen tells you to pay up. What’s the point then of offering a free version? Scam.

I paid for v3.8.1, had to upgrade to v5 for iOS 11. Now it only plays 5 min before black screen telling you to buy full version.

AcePlayer is great, and I enjoy watching files on it. There is only one problem, but it's a big problem. After a couple days, AcePlayer will crash whenever you try to open it. The only way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall AcePlayer , to which it'll start crashing a week later, and it creates this infuriating cycle. Other than that, AcePlayer is great.

AcePlayer is my default video player on my iPad and iPhone. I don't even bother using anything else, it is fantastic, and plays everything I've thrown at it without a hiccough.
One small thing - it seems that every now and then AcePlayer just decides for itself that it will now lock screen rotation and I have to exit the video I'm watching, go back to settings, and switch it back off to be able to change screen rotation. Fix this one small annoyance and you have 5 stars...

I am absolutely just blown away with AcePlayer - I can reliably stream music, audio books, and even movies off my computer over the Wi-Fi network! :-D I'm so thrilled!
I just discovered it also supports different playback speeds, but it doesn't compensate the pitch, so it sounds like The Chipmunks when you speed up audio books. Hopefully you can fix that?

As a music player it should support .cue files, otherwise .flac and .ape files made as CD images are useless. Please, add .cue file support and the ability to browse .flac and .ape files by artist, album, performer, etc. if added, it would be the best player ever for iOS.

when browsing by artist, it performs well. but i generally use the "all music" category in shuffle mode to listen to my music. i have never gotten it to work. the wheel spins and spins and spins forever. as a basis for comparison, i also have a mt-daap server at home and use the simpledaap app to play all songs in shuffle mode. AcePlayer loads all songs in under 30 seconds, and i have about 9000 songs. this is how a music app should work.
please, please, please, consider adding mt-daap client functions.
one other thing, for scrolling through a long list, there should be the standard a to z lettering on the right side of the screen to quickly jump to the song/album/artist beginning with that letter. why is it missing?

I have been a fan of AcePlayer for long. I missed it when apple screwed up my Id and AcePlayer became 2.99. I tried other dlna apps to play videos from my computer, nothing even came close to Ace Player. Now that it's free now, I am jumping right in.

I'm using an ipad2. Tried several different apps and this was the only free one that would play mkv and avi with the audio (infuse3 worked too but they force you to upgrade eventually)! So far so good. Automatically rotated the mp4 video when I started playing it but that's been the only oddity I've found so far. Ty!
