They just updated it to make it inoperable. Before, the select/center button on the directional pad didn’t work. But the trackpad feature worked pretty alright, so that was the work around. Post-update, the trackpad is a paid feature, as is completely mundane buttons. Example, the Netflix button is now a paid feature. Thanks. 10/10 improvements on the update. This is sarcasm.

There are free applications that control your TV through your iPad or iPhone, I specifically purchased RemoteControlSmartLGTV because it said it would work on my watch… It does not. I emailed their customer support asking if the application would be updated, and despite a response that they had received my question, nothing has been done. Now RemoteControlSmartLGTV is telling me I need to purchase the premium version… Which I already did when I first downloaded RemoteControlSmartLGTV , I had to restore my purchases, but when selecting haptic feedback for my watch, it keeps returning me to a page saying I need to purchase the premium version. An absolute headache with absolutely no benefit, I am going back to the free LG app to control my TV from my phone.

I bought this remote and paid the full price for it. I cannot control my tv from my watch so that was money wasted! The watch ap does NOT work!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Now every time I try to use my phone it has a connection request so I have to have the actual tv remote to confirm I’m allowed to use my phone..... EVERYTIME I push any button .... so what is the actual point if I have to use the actual remote anyway. Can I please give this a negative 5 stars?

A key feature listed is being able to use your Apple Watch to control the television. Except the Apple Watch companion app does not even launch. Read the rest of the reviews and the Twitter account and you find that everybody else is complaining about the same thing.

What’s worse is that this company hasn’t released an update or tweeted in over a year.

Nothing left for me to do besides request a refund and look for an alternative. False advertising, no support and worst of all an app that could have been perfect.

Having ads show for every 5 click is annoying. As a first time customer i was not able to use RemoteControlSmartLGTV for 5 minutes, every 5th click shows a full screen ad, and the close ad appears after 5 seconds. I feel like the lesser ads would have let me use RemoteControlSmartLGTV more and later would have purchased ad free version. This experience was like “you go to buy ad free” else u wont be able to use.

I’ve never written a review before, but RemoteControlSmartLGTV is sooooo terrible that I needed to. I control most of my devices (fire TVs, Xbox’s, etc.) with my phone and tablet as I hate trying to locate the remotes that my kids and wife loose. I got RemoteControlSmartLGTV and saw that with the premium you can get rid of the irritating adds that keep popping up while you try to use RemoteControlSmartLGTV . It was the worst 5 dollars I’ve ever spent. 98% of the time it doesn’t recognize that I have premium so it keeps popping up adds, it won’t let me turn my tv on (even though it says it’s supported), I can’t use the track pad and all of the other features that you’re suppose to be able to do with the premium package. Do not waste your 5 dollars for the premium. Their is virtually no difference.

Paid for RemoteControlSmartLGTV and had had full use of all of the features of it! They decided to update it and take away features I had already paid for! And now they want charge additional amount to unlock those same features that I had already paid for. Please don’t support businesses that do these kinds of things. It’s very crooked and in my opinion, larceny.

Love RemoteControlSmartLGTV , but it has a few serious bugs. The directional pad select button doesn’t work, the watch app doesn’t open, the play/pause buttons don’t work on most WebOS apps, you can’t rearrange apps on RemoteControlSmartLGTV screen, and there is no play/pause Siri shortcut available. For a $10 app, there should be ZERO bugs.

The developers don’t seem active either, which is a massive shame. This is the only app I’ve found that actually lets you turn on the TV from RemoteControlSmartLGTV , so my options are limited. As far as polish, UI, and general functionality, there are far better apps out there.

Save your money until they fix the serious problems.

I paid full price for the upgrade so I could use it on my watch. But it doesn’t work.

App works great on my iPhone. But on a current fully updated watch, it immediately crashes.

You need to either fix this or stop saying it works on the watch. I should have read reviews from over a year ago saying it didn’t work.

I wanted to get RemoteControlSmartLGTV because it looked like it worked and I can never find the normal remote cause I keep on loosing it, and when I tried to use the volume buttons, they wouldn’t work, same with the power button. I think this is because I don’t have cable set up but also RemoteControlSmartLGTV connected to my Xbox (which is what I wanted it to connect to) and I pointed the top/front of my iPad at the tv and the Xbox and it still wouldn’t work! Every time I would try to use the power button it would say that my tv doesn’t have the “wake up” feature, so I don’t know what that means cause I’ve never had a wake up feature before mentioned on my tv. So RemoteControlSmartLGTV doesn’t really work for me, and I personally think that it’s because I don’t have cable, but it connected to my Xbox which is connected to my tv instead of cable.

RemoteControlSmartLGTV works ok through phone. I purchased the advanced version to be able to use watch as well but every time I start watch app it crashes. I am using a series 5 Apple Watch. Then after many failed attempts I tried my wife’s Apple Watch and it still would not work. So if anything stay with the free version don’t waste money on paid version.

Really frustrating to try and evaluate, I get the same full screen ad for a roofing business every 2-3 button presses.

Try to bump the volume up a bit and you have to dismiss the ad.

But it does work, and even powers off the TV which LG's app doesn’t. Looks pretty polished but the response from the TV lags by around 0.3 seconds...

I originally bought RemoteControlSmartLGTV to get rid of ads now RemoteControlSmartLGTV updated and I have to pay to use the trackpad and even just to select apps on the TV. All it is good for is changing the input.
I do like the new feature allowing me to turn the tv on but not worth paying the additional amount just to have a useable app. Switching apps now

I never had a problem with RemoteControlSmartLGTV till I updated it , now only the volume works, can’t open up my apps, willing to change the star rate after problem has been fixed, please and thank you .

Downloaded the iOS and found it very responsive in comparison to the LG official app. I purchased the premium upgrade to make sure all the features I might need were available and the watchOS doesn’t load. Acts like it’s opening and returns me to the list of watch apps. Disappointing l, especially since I just spent $10 for the premium version. 🤦‍♂️

Folks having issue with ads after purchase, when “Restore” shows up at the bottom of any screen, PRESS and HOLD it and “Purchased” will show up.

Siri Shorcuts are a game changer! I was really disappointed when LG announced that it wouldn’t be releasing an update to bring HomeKit support to older OLED TVs. Being able to tell Siri to “play Xbox” and have the TV turn on and switch to the correct port—thanks to RemoteControlSmartLGTV—is amazing!

(This is a review for the 2.9 version, which is much improved and no bugs in RemoteControlSmartLGTV on my end)

I downloaded RemoteControlSmartLGTV when I kept losing the remote that came with my LG TV, this is so convenient. Not only am I able to turn off the tv from my phone, I was also able to turn it on from my phone— many other remote apps on RemoteControlSmartLGTV Store only turns the tv on, which is pointless, so I really like RemoteControlSmartLGTV.

I purchased the premium package to access other features in RemoteControlSmartLGTV such as having my Apple Watch as a remote as well, however the Apple Watch app kept crashing the second I open it on my watch and couldn’t use my watch as a remote at all so I emailed the company who made RemoteControlSmartLGTV about this issue (I wasn’t expecting much from customer service since online companies barely meet customers’ needs nowadays) then 2 days later I received a response from them and said they made an update to fix the issue and should be working now then I updated and everything was working! That was smooth, and I really appreciate the customer service, and RemoteControlSmartLGTV works great on my phone and watch. 👌🏽 5 stars!

Thank you so much for creating RemoteControlSmartLGTV I paid for the version, where I can keep it forever, and I been founding myself using RemoteControlSmartLGTV a lot; even when my remote is dead smack in front of me LOL.

RemoteControlSmartLGTV is good the only thing that I can recommend is: would be better if I can use my earphone when I am using RemoteControlSmartLGTV because sometimes I watch tv when my wife is sleeping.

I downloaded RemoteControlSmartLGTV so I wouldn’t have to type one letter at a time with my tv remote and after buying RemoteControlSmartLGTV the keyboard doesn’t even work !!! Completely dissatisfied with RemoteControlSmartLGTV because I only downloaded it for this reason and everything else was pretty much an added perk. Do not download until bug is fixed! Just wasted 5 dollars on it not to work. 🤬🤬🤬

Had to buy pro version to get access to the features that I wanted but found the pro version to be mostly broken. OK button doesn’t work on Apple Watch most of the time ( does nothing or taps on the wrong item). There is no trackpad on watch app. On iPhone the keyboard comes up for searches but does nothing when you tap on the keys. Not sure how this buggy app got approved for production use.

When I was installed RemoteControlSmartLGTV on my iPhone, I connected it to my TV without any problem and It worked well on my iPhone (my iPhone model is : 7plus and my iOS : 13.3)
But RemoteControlSmartLGTV didn't work on my apple watch at all
(My watch is series 5 , and my watch OS : 6.1.1)
When I touch on RemoteControlSmartLGTV icon on the Apple Watch, nothing happens and the program doesn't open at all

It won't save my TV. I have to re-pair my device every single time I close RemoteControlSmartLGTV . It also is so overloaded with ads that I can't complete any action without first closing out of an ad. It's free so sure show me ads, but not to the point that it severely impairs using RemoteControlSmartLGTV .

There are many similar apps out there that actually save your device and is usable even with ads. Pass on this one and find one of those.

If all you want to do is turn your TV off from your phone, RemoteControlSmartLGTV is great. If you want to anything else RemoteControlSmartLGTV is certainly not worth downloading. The “OK” button will not select anything which makes RemoteControlSmartLGTV almost totally useless. There is also a 5 dollar charge to get rid of the annoying pop up ads which RemoteControlSmartLGTV sometimes forgets that you’ve purchased so they show up anyways.

The new update is dumb. It looks pretty, but having to pay extra to be able to just click on Disney+ is BS. Why should I have to shell out extra money for features I already had preupdate. Nope, not doing it. I’ll go the long way before playing into your games..disappointing.

Edit:. Oh no! RemoteControlSmartLGTV is having serious trouble again. The Apple Watch feature is not connecting for me, even after an uninstall/reinstall process. I just got a response on April 17th to an email I sent on February 3rd, and RemoteControlSmartLGTV hasn't been updated in months. Please get RemoteControlSmartLGTV going right and I'll give back some stars, but it takes more effort!
