The are removing features!!

They removed 50% functionality of EMAApp . Why would you remove the module page. That’s what we use to confirm all panels are operating how they should. Why why why would you do this? Totally frustratedCmon man. If this is not put back I can’t recommend this company to others. No way at all. I am now flying blind. I have no clue now how many of my panels are working or not. I can loose half my Normal output for a whole month and would not be able to tell because they remove this feature. It needs to be put back like yesterday. Look at the images of EMAApp on EMAApp Store. It plainly shows the per module feature. That’s just goes to show you how much attention to detail these guys pay. Once you download EMAApp that feature is not there. Have me having 2nd thoughts about recommending this business to others. Quite shady. I guess they will remove how much kw/h the panels produce next time. UPDATE: found a way to check each panel. Your Ecu have a wifi connection. Connect to the wifi Ecu address and download and open the Ecu app. That will give you the per module info not historically but real-time. I did and found out one of my panels and or micro inverter is bad. This is the only way I know.

Edit: reached out to AP system and they said it’s the installer who removed it. Not them. I need to reach out to installer

Looking back

EMAApp has been great. I look at it often and can see how my system is doing and if the rate repair needs to be done. As I look back at past power generation, it would be nice to have the month and year sections under data go back based on what time frame you are looking at. For example, it is January 29th. To see what I generated last January I have to go back 30 days on the month data info to see last year. If in the month section it would go back a full month if you tap the left arrow I could go back quickly rather than 30 taps and then forward 30 taps to get back to today. Or, have the month section with 13 months instead of 12. Just some thoughts on how one person uses it. Great, reliable app.

Buggy app, no analytics

I am a new user of EMAApp. I have installed 9.6 KW solar panels system on my rooftop. The installer has chosen to go for AP Systems YC600 micro inverters. The first impression is EMAApp has too many bugs.
The login fails several times. Most of the evenings after the sunset EMAApp never works, even it hesitates to connect. GUI is so old fashioned and look. There is hardly any analytics in EMAApp other than showing static information of how much energy got generated each day, how much CO2 got reduced and at panel level the peak output generated. It lacks tons of other information like how much energy got used at home, how much was sent to grid, etc etc.

AP Systems has to learn from their competitor ENPHASE and build an new app from scratch. This is one of the reason why 90% installers prefer Enphase compared to AP systems. I didn’t know of AP Systems until my installer preferred this because of other reasons.

Useful for checking module performance.

I would love a couple things. I would love to see 13 months instead of 12 months at a time. I really enjoy seeing how this month compares to a year ago - yeah, I’m nerdy like that. To do this, I need to drop the menu to show 1 month ago, and then it will show the last 12 months minus one. E.g. it is March 2024 currently. To show LAST March, 2023, I need to select February 2024 to see March 2023 in the listings. I’d love to see last March and THIS March at the same time. Would be great to have an “export as CSV” the last 12 months from EMAApp , so I can export the data on my mobile device. I never get on my actual PC for this stuff anymore.

Great app for monitoring, but...

When I first got EMAApp I looked at it everyday with the new panels installed and loved seeing the output of the panels. As time went on I looked at it less and less and just watched my utility bill instead. Still check EMAApp on nice sunny days, but recently noticed the module page is gone. Probably after the last update?? Not too happy about that since it shows the status of each module. This is highly beneficial since you can see if any panels are not functioning properly and can alert the contractor for repairs. Please, PLEASE, put this back on EMAApp !! If I’m able to still see it with the last update which states “optimized module page” please tell me how.

Missing a couple key features for iPadOS

I love the ability to pull up EMAApp and see current power, to track daily/weekly generation trends, and to monitor modules. Below are a few things that would add at least 2 stars for me if all were added!

1. Screen is fixed and cannot rotate if the iPad is upside down or rotated - please enable screen rotation (at least 180 degrees so when an iPad is “upside down” EMAApp is the right direction

2. Enable auto-refresh (or add a setting to enable this at specific intervals). Currently the pages (Home/Module/Data) only display the data from you loaded the page. Enabling an auto-update/refresh would allow users to leave the page up and track “live” changes.

3. Add an “average” curve/line to the Data charts. It would be great to see how the hourly power/energy curve compares to a weekly or monthly average and and a weekly or monthly average in the week and month Data tabs.

EMA App is improved, needs more

The EMA App v3.0.1 is much better than its predecessor. I am glad to see the update, better capability, and a little better interface.

It still needs improvements. For the Data page in Day view, the energy as displayed is not very useful. A more useful plot would be the cumulative energy production for the day.

For selecting the date, it would be good to have a single click to return to today’s date.

Another feature that would be nice to see is a way to compare performance on two days using an overlay. Could have two consecutive days, two days a year apart, or user-defined days. This could apply to other time periods as well.

EMAApp should be getting regular updates.

Used to work

Well, folks, I used to check on our solar output all the time. In October 2022, EMAApp and the website stopped collecting data. I have done the unplugging, waiting, replugging when it is sunny thing several times. That takes some timing these days on the Oregon coast. I haven’t had any info available to me in months. I contacted the company and followed their directions. Nothing. EMAApp is just taking up space on my desktop. Disappointing.

Warning!!!

EMAApp does not work at all. It worked when it first started now, it is now worthless. You can no longer see day to day operations, let alone monthly production. This is the most disappointing app I have ever had!!!! No support, china controlled but sold in the north west of the US as US/Canada product. If I would have know this I would have never bought solar panels with this system. Please do not buy a solar panel system with EMAApp.

Need the module page back

This is a 4 star app with the modules page. I live in an area that gets lots of snow and this page tells me the coverage by panel which is really helpful. Also, if a panel ever stopped producing power, I’d never know. Please fix!

Works good

I have all the sections on here like the module, data etc but not fully sure how to understand it I’m generating more power then I’m using daily. Anyone know the right way to read and understand this to explain please?

Works great.

Apart from occasionally logging me out, EMAApp is very useful and works as I’d expect. I wish I could check status remotely (using cell data), but for me if I am not home on my WiFi network the stats screens are all blank.

Update Jan 2023

Just did the update and it won’t let me get past the Privacy and Terms of Agreement. Won’t let me click agree/disagree. Deleted EMAApp and reinstalled and will not let me click on anything. Was working fine before the update. For both apps.

Useful data

EMAApp seems to work fine. I have not had the issues other reviewers have noted. One request would be to support landscape mode on iPads as that is the orientation I usually use.

Great service

At first I couldn’t see the module page but I talked to my solar people and they linked it up to my account and now I can see it. Love EMAApp thanks!

Much improved

EMAApp has been improved so much that I am satisfied with current version. It gives me the same information I can get from EMA website, including module performance, which is very helpful to identify a faulty microconverter. Good job!

The best

For me EMA is a tool very useful. Now in version 3.1.0 you have the meter so you just need you phone to know about your consumption and your generation.

Sunny day = zero power

At least one time a week this ap will not register any power input. Sunny day = zero power. Sometimes the next day it will register the previous days solar, but maybe not. Very finicky. Installation company said it was bc my house is far from panels, but that’s why I paid to trench cat5 to my house and in my attic down my wall...so I could see zero power on this handy ap!

Everything I wanted to review solar data

EMAApp does a great job with real time info, daily monthly and yearly data retention, easy to read charts, individual panel information, etc. Great job.

UPDATE Feb 2nd: Reduced to one star as the module feature is no longer available. This feature is critical in providing information about how each specific pane is performing. Very disappointed.

Legitimate

Idk what all the bad reviews are about…. Been using it 3 weeks and it seems great! Addictive, but great!

App has changed

I used to be able to navigate EMAApp quite well on my ipad but something has changed. It is now only visible in the portrait position and it does not fit well even at that. I am unable to change between panel sets because I cannot see where to change it because EMAApp does not fit. Please fix!

Just what I need

I use the Home and Data tabs at least once a day and the Modules tab occasionally. All work very well.
