Amazingly helpful

I freaking love ChefTap. I always lost the online recipes I used and there didn’t seem to be a good way to keep them all in one place, in an organized fashion, that was also accessible to my family. I love that we can add notes, pictures, retrieve missing text, see the entire recipe or ingredients list at once because the blogger’s pictures aren’t taking up space, and I don’t have to scroll past annoying stories just to get to the recipe. It seems like cheftap has thought of everything and recipe-saving is as absolutely convenient as it can possibly be.

Absolutely Amazing

Cheftap is quite simply amazing. Very straightforward to use and incredibly accurate with clipping. I honestly cannot say enough about it. It has made my shopping and cooking feel much more organized and go much more smoothly. I have never had any issues with it at all. Well done! If you’re looking for an app to organize your recipes and generate easy shopping lists for you, you’ve found it!

Awesome App

ChefTapRecipeOrganizer is so perfect for developing your own recipe book. Clipping recipes that you really want to save from the web is spectacular! I am so happy with ChefTapRecipeOrganizer. I have had it for years now, I really hope it doesn’t lose its support and customer base. Pay for pro and keep ChefTapRecipeOrganizer going! I would also love to be able to share recipes to other chef tap users!

I love this app

This is one of my most used apps. I love that you can add tags to recipes for easy categorizing. I am constantly adding new tabs. You can add your own photo to the recipe, or find one online that looks like said recipe and use it. Editing recipes is a breeze.
I have been using this for over a year and can’t imagine living without it. It makes everything so easy.

Love this app - BUT what happened

I’m not sure if this problem is from my iPhone upgrade or ChefTap upgrade... but my home screen has gone from two across and six recipes listed to one recipe and three showing on my homepage. Anyone else have this problem and how do I fix it?

Charge you for everything

If you came to ChefTapRecipeOrganizer to put in your recipes, plan on paying. You have to “go Pro” to manually enter your own recipes. That is the most ridiculous thing imaginable to charge people for. I’m not paying to enter my own recipes, I’ll buy a physical book to write them into before I pay for an account yearly. Oh, and it only lets you save 15 recipes from the internet MAX before you, again, have to pay yearly to use ChefTapRecipeOrganizer . I’d sooner pay for ChefTapRecipeOrganizer itself than pay to use the thing yearly.

Best recipe app! Beyond happy

I’ve used all kids of programs over the years to track recipes. ChefTap has EVERYTHING you need in an app. I can’t say enough about it!
Easy to add recipes, pictures, reviews, it makes a grocery list. It’s the best!

Fantastic app for serious cooks.

I find ChefTapRecipeOrganizer indispensable. And to the people complaining about paying, I say would you go to work every day for no pay? ChefTapRecipeOrganizer is so powerful and useful to me that I see the yearly fee as a bargain.

Lack of copy/paste convinced me to go elsewhere

Since copy/paste of recipes is a pro feature, I'm migrating my recipes to another app. There are cool things about pro, you didn't need to make copy/paste or write your own recipes a pro feature - and you don't even talk about it on the website!

It works

I am very pleased thus far with ChefTapRecipeOrganizer . It does exactly what I want it to; clipping recipes from websites and consolidating them in one place. The interface is a little clunky but you can’t beat the price.

By

Very cheaply built app

App doesn’t work well. On top of the restricting basic features like cloud syncing once a week kind of completely defeats the purpose of storing your recipes using their cloud. Additionally none of the desktop photos on my recipes show up on ChefTapRecipeOrganizer when it does finally sync. Find something else

Easy recipe saver!!

I wasn't sure about it at first, since the features weren't 100% intuitive for me (embarrassed how long it took me to figure out how to delete a recipe), but the more I use it the more I like it! Still glitches sometimes and doesn't save a pic/title/etc when clipping.

Glitch

It would be nice if ChefTapRecipeOrganizer worked all the time, it seems like there is constantly one glitch after another I sure hope I can get on for my Thanksgiving recipes because right now every time I get on ChefTapRecipeOrganizer it throws me out.

Blurry pics on iPad

I’m paying a fee annually and ChefTapRecipeOrganizer displays ALL pictures blurry and out of focus on the screen you scroll through to select recipes. How unappetizing. I’ll change my review once this is fixed. I reported it a year ago and still no improvement.

Everything I need and more!

Awesome. Convenient. Worth the price. What did I do before ChefTapRecipeOrganizer!??

No updates what happened

Not enough updates to charge a yearly subscription fee. I paid a one time fee for Recipe Keeper and I am much happier with that.

Just crashed

Installed and it did nothing but crash. Unfortunate because it seemed promising. Over 50 apps working fine and this one just couldnt deliver. deleted.

By

Sign up doesn't work

The registration link failed and I could not create an account making ChefTapRecipeOrganizer useless for my purpose.

By

Terrible so far

Can’t activate my account so app is pretty useless so far...

Nice interface, but fails at syncing

The ChefTap interface is very clean and user-friendly and I liked it at first, but soon realized they have a lot of work to do functionality-wise. I wanted a web recipe clipper that would sync between my iPhone and iPad, but synchronization is problematic and inconsistent (very hard to tell which device has the latest update and the recipe data often fails repeatedly to match between either device or on the web site, even after multiple sync attempts triggered from each source). Another problem is that although ChefTapRecipeOrganizer does recognize / clip recipe text from most web pages, a lot of that text gets lost during import. Picture quality for manual image uploads is also poor compared to other recipe clippers.

I've found that CopyMeThat is a really good alternative to ChefTap. Like ChefTap, it has a very nice interface and recognizes nearly all web pages, but its advantage is that syncing is always occurs instantly and flawlessly, image quality is way better, and during clipping it gives you an option to import "original text surrounding each section" (i.e. text not recognized as ingredients or cooking instructions), which seem to be the portions that ChefTap neither recognizes nor imports. Plus, CopyMeThat is 100% free and ChefTap requires a yearly subscription for unlimited clips.

Nice app

Nice app, but can you please please:

-add a way to organize our recipes (move around and make folders).
-add a way to add our own recipes.

Used to be great but needs an update to be usable

I’ve had ChefTap for several years and have the paid version too. ChefTapRecipeOrganizer has gotten so bad I'm cancelling my subscription. It crashes frequently when viewing recipes and every time I search recipes. It’s sad because this used to be a fantastic app.

By

Crashes

Have had this program for four years, now when I open it, it crashes.

Was awesome, then updates stopped

I loved Cheftap for years - it was ahead of its time when I first signed up. But suddenly the developers stopped pushing updates and ChefTapRecipeOrganizer experienced frequent crashes. It feels like the developers just forgot about ChefTapRecipeOrganizer and their customer base. It’s a shame.

Also, Cheftap’s export format was so poor I ended up having to re-import most of my recipes by hand into a different app. The exported html files didn’t even include images or a consistent structure (e.g., half of my recipes were missing the “Instructions” and “ingredients” headers).

I hope Apple takes note and removes ChefTapRecipeOrganizer from the store if the developers aren’t going to maintain it.

Fantastic recipe organizing app!

I have been using ChefTapRecipeOrganizer for years and have over 1,000 recipes saved. I love that I can easily upload recipes from websites and tag them with categories I created (I like to label them by what type of meal they are such as dinner, what type of season such as stews and soups for fall/winter, if they’re easy or affordable, etc). This makes it easy to get ideas when I’m feeling uninspired and can’t decide what I want to make for dinner. It’s like having my own personal digital cookbook. I cannot for the life of me understand why ChefTapRecipeOrganizer doesn’t have a higher rating!

By

Still Love ChefTap

I’ve been using ChefTapRecipeOrganizer since it first came out. It’s great for meal planning for vacations, camping and finally party prep. It has all my favorite recipes ready to go when cooking for 50+ people. Yes it crashes occasionally, but I do have more than 200 recipes.

No real support

We’ve been using ChefTapRecipeOrganizer for years and knew there were sync issues and reported them. We weren’t too impacted and just worked around them. Now my wife has lost half her pictures of recipes and I’ve lost all pictures. We’ve communicated back and forth with support to no avail and eventually to no response.

At this point app is of limited use requiring us to access via web.

No support

Sadly, ChefTapRecipeOrganizer is no longer being supported. After numerous friendly attempts to contact customer support, I hit a wall. The one response I did receive was “I’ve been sick”. I AM GUTTED! Have used and loved ChefTapRecipeOrganizer for years and have hundreds of recipes cataloged. I used it nearly every day and converted dozens of handwritten recipes, newspaper clippings and family heirlooms to ChefTapRecipeOrganizer . I can no longer clip recipes and I’ve lost most of the photographs I had. Am looking for alternatives, but It will me a mammoth task to convert my ChefTap collection. Such a shame.
