Yummly has too many ads, requires multiple clicks to get to the heart of a recipe, and profiles recipes for me that don’t fit my needs. But what is the most frustrating is trying to cancel my subscription. It’s a never ending do-loop of logging into website to access my account, then being sent an email that asks me to sign in. I have then gotten to the place to cancel my subscription, which I do, but then the website will not allow me to cancel my account until I have canceled my subscription, which I have already done (or think I’ve done). But at each step, I have to log in to website where it again sends me an email with link to sign in and I have to start all over. It just keeps repeating. This doesn’t make any sense, does it? No. I can’t even explain what is happening because it is utter nonsense. I want to cancel my subscription and delete my account. And it doesn’t appear that I can. So, my advice is to avoid YummlyRecipesMealPlanning at all costs. It’s a trap and there are better cooking apps out there. And if I did successfully cancel my subscription, please cancel my account. I have tried multiple times and it just keeps telling me that I need to cancel my subscription first. Which I tried to do. That’s how bad this is.
Worst Recipe App without a doubt

I hated their website and app several years ago when I tried to use. But one of my dear friend sent me a recipe “Super Energy Kale Soup” via email I tried click the link and open it in my browser, ingredients comes up but when I click “get directions” , that page never stop loading and nothing comes up. I’m kind of person who have insane amount patient!! So I go to App Store and download YummlyRecipesMealPlanning , and follow through the 10 minutes worth of crap to finish signing up, then even get the pro version. I searched for the kale soup recipe and and when it came up I clicked “ get directions”, same thing happened and it opens a blank page. Now most people would give up by then, but I decided to try one more recipe to see if only that one kale recipe soup has issue, but second and third recipe same thing. I use an IPhone XR and all the software are up to date. I don’t care what million other people say, after spending 25 minutes of my life I will never get back... this is the worst recipe app or to be honest any app I have ever used. Your incompetence is nothing short of unspeakable!!
Great App for Certain Uses

by SarahASmall
This is a great app to find new recipes, but it is not so friendly when you want to save and compile recipes that you already use. I was able to find many, but not all, of the recipes I like to use (from certain blogs/websites). I do not use any filters, so I am unsure why the search function does not recognize certain recipes that easily come u when I google search. To my knowledge, there is NO function to either import a missing recipe from another link or manually enter a recipe (that may not be online).
I would prefer to have all of my recipes in one place, so that I do not have to check multiple websites, apps, or personal notes. Maybe this is not the purpose of YummlyRecipesMealPlanning, but it would make it easier for people that are trying to get everything in one app. It would also be great to “follow” blogs or websites that I like within YummlyRecipesMealPlanning so that the recipe feed can include recipe makers that I already trust in addition to recipes YummlyRecipesMealPlanning suggests to me.

I gave it 4 stars but I’m down to three right now. I respect the right to have a paid/subscription service but if I’m not interested in that please let me know if I’m going to have an offer thrown in my face every-single-time I start YummlyRecipesMealPlanning . I don’t mind periodic reviews but I am getting annoyed. When I get annoyed I begin to look at alternatives.
Prior review:
As a person who is just getting much more into cooking because of COVID I really appreciate YummlyRecipesMealPlanning and it has really helped with coming up with some great dinner ideas. There are three ideas that would make this 5-star for me: Allow the ability for something to be “tagged” for me as a “not Yum” so if I try something out and don’t like it that doesn’t show up in my search (this is different from a negative rating of the recipe), allow “All Yuma” to be at the bottom of the screen to be able to be hidden - I categorize my recipes and have one for “ideas” to consider trying but viewing everything in one bucket is not useful to me and, finally, some better sorting when looking at recipes based on popularity, reviews, diffulty, etc. Thank you for a great app.
I give YummlyRecipesMealPlanning 3 stars because as others have mentioned, the user interface/experience (UI, UX) leaves a lot to be desired.
- Login was my first obstacle. I made the mistake of trying to use my own email address rather than Google or Facebook. Each time I left YummlyRecipesMealPlanning in my iPhone X, I was forced to have an email sent to my email where I had to click a button (never worked) or a long link (ok). That opened YummlyRecipesMealPlanning for me, but I spent a couple of hours trying to correct this issue.
- Hoping that perhaps YummlyRecipesMealPlanning was not friendly to iOS and X, I tried logging on via MacBook Pro. Here I tried to set my password (mistake). This involved resetting my password (wait for email again), try to set a new password which gave me the message that the reset time period had expired.
- I really did NOT want to use either my Google or Facebook account to log in but it was my last attempt. Finally, I tried that and all went smoothly. I was able to skip all the choices I had made before since their server remembered them all.
- Also, to see the directions/instructions for any recipe, I was forced to turn my iPhone horizontally in order to press the button.
Once I got signed in, YummlyRecipesMealPlanning presented a lot of nice options (When to start a recipe, shopping list, food allergies to avoid and more), but for now, I'd say it's not ready for prime time yet if it's going to make it so difficult to sign in.

I’m a major Foodie. I have found so many incredible and interesting recipes on Yummly. Even ones I’ve used over the years myself. I really enjoy the ability to research so easily. I try a lot of recipes that fall into several different categories. So it’s always a pleasure to come on to YummlyRecipesMealPlanning and be able to research in less time than books, especially when the recipes give you nutritional information that is accurate. However, with all the great things one thing has begun to bother me somewhat. I go to the recipe and the page is gone and that is when you go to directions. It’s very unfortunate to find a wonderful recipe only to find that it’s not complete or accurate. If you fix this Yummly I will give you the 5 stars. I switch from YummlyRecipesMealPlanning Yummly and Food Network to create a planned menu weekly. I also use true and tried recipes I’ve counted on throughout the years. I try as often as I can to give a comment on the recipe I am trying for the first time. However, with so much cooking and daily life, commentaries can get pushed to the side. I do eventually get to them just may not be the same day. Keep up the great job and work Yummly and please fix that error page, I have been disappointed quite a bit lately from that ordeal. Thanks for asking for a review after I used YummlyRecipesMealPlanning for a while. I appreciate the timing.
Awesome app! But always room for improvement

I love YummlyRecipesMealPlanning and use it just about every week depending on how busy the schedule is. There’s recipes for almost everything on here. Every recipe I’ve found has detailed instructions for prep and cooking. I can almost guarantee you will find what you’re looking for here. Convenient meals available at your fingertips. Only spots for improvement in my opinion is not having pop ups to go to some blog every time you want instructions for a recipe. The instructions should be right on YummlyRecipesMealPlanning itself. Not that it’s a major hassle or anything but sometimes I don’t want to read about how much mom loves this recipe and wants to stroke it for ten minutes before she shares her secrets with us, who just want simple instructions so we can accomplish making the meal and enjoying it with family/friends. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I really enjoy reading the blogs when they’re well written or I’m in an interested mood. It would just be cool to have the option of looking at plain instructions along with going to the blogs as well. Also an improvement would be being able to see the recipes my mom has saved or yum’d, and vice versa. Because cooking with mom is how most of us learned or started to learn!

I love YummlyRecipesMealPlanning. My husband introduced me to it a couple years back and we both use it on a weekly basis. The layout makes it less intimidating when finding something new to cook. It has options to help with shopping and has videos from chefs to help with some recipes (you have to pay for that portion.) which is nice. Unfortunately, YummlyRecipesMealPlanning stopped working for me about 2-3 weeks ago. It started right after an update in Feb so I thought maybe it was a bad update. However I have had I believe two updates since than and it hasn’t fixed itself. I went to help page and that didn’t do anything for trying to figure out what is going on. I still use Yummly on my web browser but it is not as good as YummlyRecipesMealPlanning and keeps me from using it as often as I use to. I deleted YummlyRecipesMealPlanning and downloaded it again but it’s saying there is something wrong with my user. Not sure what happened but if this keeps up I may end up not using it. I pay for pro because I like it so much but if I can’t use it to the extent I’m used to there isn’t much keeping me from canceling my subscription.

Good app. Relatively easy to use. Great customize categories for ‘filing’ recipes. Very good content. I will keep using. Could be a little more intuitive on tech side, esp when searching for recipes. It’s nice to search by ingredient/omit ingredient, & would be better if could just search categories of food by type of food or main ingredient or basic type of recipe name...in other words the equivalent of searching by subject at the library. Have found it hard to do that. When opening a traditional cookbook/recipe book, you can do so and it’s efficient, esp w/an index. It took me 45+ min to find a recipe the other day. Easier access to FULL recipes would be better/appreciated, although I understand why clicking to the recipe author’s scroll-thru-29-ads-and-other-misc-stuff-to-get-to-free-full-recipe-directions is necessary in the current pay-for-play-with-time/distraction/ads/broken up text-model of receiving “free” content via electronic media/apps. I’m not sure if there is a paid version of Yummly and even more important, I have my doubts that a paid version would eliminate the above mentioned scroll-thru-15pages to get to full recipes/instructions.
I have been using (and loving) Yummly for years. I love it for gathering and saving recipes. I also use it to meal plan and create my grocery list. I’ve recommended it to many people when they ask where I find my recipes.
In one of the recent updates, however, we seem to have lost the ability to see quantities for ingredients when added to the shopping list. Before it seemed that every recipe would work to add, for example, 6 cups of chicken broth and it would keep the quantity in the shopping list. But now the shopping list just says “chicken broth”. I have to go into the recipe itself to confirm that I’m buying the correct amount. Some recipes still display the quantity in the list, but the majority do not. I know that I can manually go in and change it, but...I hate doing that when it used to work so seamlessly! This is all not a huge deal and doesn’t stop me from continuing to use Yummly. But...it is frustrating when I’m just trying to make it in and out of the store as quickly as possible! It’s the only difference between 4 and 5 stars to me.
AWESOME...But just one thing...

Yummly is seriously so amazing and I'm surprised I haven't heard about it until now. It definitely inspires me to want to cook more often. Also, the way you can filter through recipes is so cool. I will usually look for different recipes on Pinterest, but YummlyRecipesMealPlanning just makes everything so much easier. You see something that looks good, and can instantly save it. Then you just tap the picture, and boom you have the recipe. Also the way you can filter your allergy/diet specifications is one the coolest things about the entire app! The only thing I wish it did have (and i understand this isn't very high demand compared to diet) is a weight GAIN filter. Thats one of the toughest things that I struggle with, with having such a high metabolism, is finding HEALTHIER meals that help you gain weight(more protein, calories) . If there was even just an option in the “Nutrition” filter where you can select “higher calorie amount” or something like that, would be super awesome. Just my personal feedback and this is the ONLY negative thing that I have to say about Yummly! :-)
This app got me to start cooking!

I was telling myself that I will start cooking more for months... There were times where I would cook for a week and then it would wane for a couple weeks because I wasn’t really sure what I was capable of cooking. Looking at food blogs was becoming tiresome because I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for... Enter: Yummly. I downloaded YummlyRecipesMealPlanning after seeing an ad on Instagram and I was immediately hooked. The UI is super intuitive and and satisfying to use. I can simply just type in what I’m in the mood for (e.g., “chicken breast”) and then I have a plethora of diverse recipe options to choose from. It is so simple to browse through recipes on the bus, find something I’m in the mood for, add the ingredients to my shopping list with the click of a button, and then use YummlyRecipesMealPlanning as I walk around the store to ensure I get everything. Highly recommend!!!
I love this app!!!

The design of YummlyRecipesMealPlanning is awesome. It manages to pull recipes from many sources smoothly, and it’s great about searching specific ingredients/certain types of meals. It consolidates all the recipe info in a clean, straightforward way, so when you spot something you want to try you can quickly see nutritional info, ingredients, prep time etc. from YummlyRecipesMealPlanning , without having to scroll through the actual site the recipe was posted on trying to find all that information (if you choose to make the meal you will THEN go to the full recipe site for the directions, but it’s still from within YummlyRecipesMealPlanning ). It lets you create different lists, which I really like, and you can even tell it to create shopping lists for you based on the recipe you’ve picked. You can also tell it what ingredients you have on hand and it’ll will give you recipes that you can make using those ingredients, or what time you plan on eating something. It will give you reminders on when to start prepping the meal if you give it a time. So cool.
Seriously, this thing is great. I love it.
Awesome!

I have made more meals in a week than I ever have! Meal planning was always so hard for me to do with a little one - never enough time to look up recipes, always forgetting something at the store, etc. but with Yummly, I have been able to get all my groceries in ONE trip to the store, and find the recipes easily! My favorite new find in YummlyRecipesMealPlanning is that you can set a schedule on your calendar that will remind you when you need to start prepping the ingredients & throwing it all together to have it done by the dinner time you’d want!! THAT is HUGE for me!! I am very bad at planning out the meal prep time, always causing our meals to run into the night, or having to throw some last minute dinner together that is below exceptional.
So far, I love YummlyRecipesMealPlanning!
Only downside is I have noticed a few glitches and bugs that get annoying, but nothing that can’t be overlooked for the convenience!
I love Yummly, I don’t remember how I found out about it. But it has been a lifesaver, it’s great to save recipes I find online that I want to look at later and not get lost in the bookmark section of my phone. It’s also good for a vegan like me to find recipes, but also serving size and nutrition facts.I scan look at all the egan recipes in one place instead of looking them up online and finding out it isn’t vegan. Plus I can look for recipes using certain ingredients I have laying around. They have such a inclusive dietary preference all types of vegetarians, paleo, plus all kinds of allergies. They have now guided videos, I’ll check those out soon and see what they’re like. I honestly can’t think of anything to complain about. It’s a useful tool for me and one of the must-have food apps on my phone. All the other exclusively vegan recipe apps , or just general apps are overpriced and don’t do half the things Yummly does or if they do you have to pay a ridiculous subscription fee. The best part it is all free! Not a free app with a lot limitations on certain recipes, but there’s a premium membership with access to over thousand of recipes and videos. Or it’s a free trial , it’s actually legitimately free, I mean it has prompted recipes from brand companies but its clearly labeled. Plus I mean YummlyRecipesMealPlanning has to be paid for somehow. If that’s the only ads I’ve got to deal with, I’ll take it!

I have been using YummlyRecipesMealPlanning for probably around 7 years now. Definitely my go-to app for recipes. YummlyRecipesMealPlanning makes it super easy to find what you’re looking for by asking questions like what kind of protein you want in your dish, desired cooking time, number of ingredients, type of ingredients, dietary restrictions, etc. in order to filter the recipes. When you find recipes you want to save for later, you can create categories (I have one called “Recipes for Dad” where I save easy recipes that I know he can make) or use the ones that come with YummlyRecipesMealPlanning (breakfast, lunch, dinner) to sort them. The recipes always show a rating and written reviews from people who have made them. I find this extremely helpful in deciding which recipes to make and how to alter them based on reviews. Overall, YummlyRecipesMealPlanning is super bomb and I recommend it to everyone!
Amazing, so many good features

Yummly is a great app. I have found so many recipes on YummlyRecipesMealPlanning that I never would have found otherwise! If you aren’t sure about a recipe, just look at the reviews for the recipe. Reviewing recipes is honestly such a good idea, as most recipe-filled websites or apps don’t have such features, meaning that you have no idea if the food will turn out well. You can save the recipes, which is another great feature. Find a recipe you would like to try? Just save it so you don’t have to go back and find it later. If you are planning on making several different things at the same time, you can add the ingredients you need to the shopping list on Yummly, sorted by category of foods. When you first log on to Yummly, the user can choose what foods they dislike, what they are allergic to, if they are on any diets, and what kinds of dishes they enjoy preparing. This filters the recipes you see, and you can then find more recipes you would like. Yummly is my #1 choice as a baker and chef.
Best recipe app!!!

I’ve tried pretty much all the recipe apps and this is by far the best. I use it nearly every day. I have food allergies. Yummly let’s me select foods I’m allergic to along with foods I don’t like. That’s nice because it allows me to expand my allergy list. I can pick a specific diet. In our case, pescatarian. I can also pick our favorite cuisines like Mediterranean, Greek, Indian, etc. I’ve not found a lot of the other food apps to be so specific at narrowing down your searches. I don’t want to see foods I’m not interested in.
I love the fact that the recipes are easy to make. You can even select how many ingredients you want. I don’t want to have to research ingredients or cooking methods. I want simple recipes that my picky tween and teen will eat. My family raves about the stuff I make from YummlyRecipesMealPlanning. I’ve made some things two nights in a row at my kids request because they love what I’m making. I’ve always hated cooking, but since I started using YummlyRecipesMealPlanning cooking has been less of a chore. The recipes are interesting.

I’ve been using the Yummly app for a few years now. I can find every recipe I am searching for, and believe me it has come in handy. In the last year I’ve switched diets from Mediterranean to Vegan to Keto, now I’m low carb. All the while I’m gluten free. YummlyRecipesMealPlanning makes it easy to obtain allergy free recipes and recipes geared toward my diet. I also receive emails from Yummly. Just before Christmas I receive cool kitchen recommendations. I may put some items on my Christmas list for me or buy items for my friends and family. I am an avid gardener and sometimes need fresh new ideas for an over abundance of vegetables or fruits. With Yummly I can search the vegetables name and find all sorts of recipes. This year I canned my very own tomato sauce with a Yummly recipe! I also learned how to cut a whole chicken in half and roast it! The amount of “Yums” on each recipe make it simple for me to chose what recipe I want to try if multiple recipes pop up under my search. I’m rating Yummly 5 stars because I can always find an outstanding recipe to suit my and my family’s needs.
It’s the best free recipe app! You can save recipes to different categories. YummlyRecipesMealPlanning starts you off with some categories, but you can create your own categories that make sense to you so that you can easily find what you have a taste for. You can click on ingredients right from the recipe, & they go to your shopping list which is organized by type (produce, meat, etc.). You can check it off in YummlyRecipesMealPlanning as you buy it, but it doesn’t disappear. It just moves to a completed section of your list, then you delete it when you want. In the shopping list, it also tells you what recipe the ingredient is for, AND you can get to the recipe right from the specific ingredient in your shopping list. 🤗 There are SO many recipes too AND different recipes for (ways to make) the same dish. Some recipes for a dish may be easier or have a different twist. There is so much possibility.

Right away when you get YummlyRecipesMealPlanning it gives you a quiz about foods you prefer and don’t prefer, if you have any food allergies, or if you are on a diet. You can always change these in settings. There is a home page of foods YummlyRecipesMealPlanning thinks you would like and an explore page if you want to try new things. There is also a search bar. All of the recipes have the nutritional facts and tell you how long it takes to make. You can also set a reminder on YummlyRecipesMealPlanning of when you would like to start preparing your meal. You can give the recipes reviews and comments. You can also save the foods you want to make and there is even a way to organize your saved recipes. You can even make a shopping list on YummlyRecipesMealPlanning and there is a spot on YummlyRecipesMealPlanning where it tells you of good cooking tools you can buy from different brands. Love YummlyRecipesMealPlanning!

I never agree to write reviews for apps but this one deserves it. I love YummlyRecipesMealPlanning! I use it every single day for at least one meal if not more ☺️😋 Yummly has the most amazing options and filters. It coordinates how long the prep and cooking take and can even add a reminder to your phone calendar to notify you of when to begin your meal based off the time you want to serve it. It lets you select if you have a food allergy and will choose recipes without that. It lets you list foods or ingredients you dislike and will choose receives without those. It has an option to let you list what ingredients you might have laying in your refrigerator or pantry and will show you a recipe with those ingredients. And it even lets you take pictures of food/ingredients and will help you identify them to choose a recipe based off that. Great app. Thank you!!!
Huge variety of recipes, very useful

Yummly is a great app for finding, collecting and storing recipes. Yes, Google also works well for finding recipes, but Yummly gives you a virtual storage place to collect your recipes, sort by type, and each recipe has a shopping list function as well as detailed instructions.
These recipes are culled from cooking websites all over the interwebz, and some of the individual cooks have a little too much prose on their pages. I may not need to read 8 pages about that wonderful trip you took to that quaint little town in Italy on your honeymoon when all I want is a recipe for cannoli. But that’s not Yummly’s fault.
I often print out or write down recipes that I’m particularly fond of, because I’m not sure that the recipes survive on Yummly if the person’s individual webpages are taken down or age out. But again, that’s not any fault in YummlyRecipesMealPlanning per se.
The interface took a little getting used to, it’s a bit cryptic, at least for me - but everything is there. I just sometimes get lost and have to back out of the recipes to find the basic Yummly functions. But that’s probably more a me problem than a Yummly problem.
Overall, as an enthusiastic home cook always looking to expand my repertoire, I find Yummly incredibly useful.
