I was selected for a T Mobile Event that boasted open bar, food and celebrity guests LOL. After waiting in line for an hour, they told us no one else was getting in but we could wait and see if some people came out. So once a bunch of people walked out they let us in. There was no one from this app anywhere in sight to check in with, the bar had NO BAR DRINKS beyond water and diet sprite, there was absolutely NO FOOD and no signs that there was ever food present. and I guess the celebrity guest was a random no name band. Was I paid for the event I was told I be paid for attending? No. Because no one from this app was anywhere to be found. Considering I lost 2.5 hours of my life I’ll never get back and $30 for an Uber to and fro seems like I came out worse than I started

I used Surkus to get tickets to Ozy Fest in NYC and it was an awful bait & switch experience. First, their email communication was delayed, so it was unclear if I actually had tickets or not, then when we were told to look out for a second confirmation email, one of them didn’t even arrive that confirmed where will call was located in Central Park. Then today, a friend who got there before me, said all this app ticket holders were turned away due to a misunderstanding of value capacity. They had provided a phone number to text the day of, but no communication had been disseminated that this app ticket holders would be turned away. I only got that confirmation by texting the contact. Don’t download Surkus!

I had my app on and checked in with the guy at the event I attended. Later, after I got my coupon I opened Surkus again to see I was marked "no show." As soon as I got home I sent this app a picture on the coupon, and let them know what happened. Instead of letting me know what to do next time, and helping me out. They just told me what I did wrong multiple times from multiple people. They finally said they won't change anything because it "has been more than 2 days after the event."

My girlfriend had the same issue, but they helped her right away. Our thought is that they care more about her attending events because she is a girl.

So I’ve been with this app since February 2016.... this used to be the most amazing app. I was an ambassador for most of the time. I met so many amazing people whom I’m still friends with and I was able to go to all kinds of amazing events and get paid to be there! But in the last year it’s basically been nothing but ads for me to buy stuff and make a post to my social media. And it’s all spammy. It’s literally nothing like it was the first year- two years I was apart of Surkus. I’m honestly very disappointed. It’s basically a completely different app and has nothing to do with what it was when I first joined. How do I delete my account???

The events are awful. The rewards are awful. They won’t let you delete a profile in Surkus and their email system doesn’t work. And Surkus “conveniently” stopped showing me notifications when I was getting close to VIP. So 8 months of using it and now my score is terrible after a weekend of no messages when they spammed me with 40 events I never was notified of on my phone.

Also pretty sure they sell phone numbers to telemarketers when they collect your data. My whole office started using this app right before we all started to be bombarded with phone scammers.

The fact that they won’t invite both you and your significant other to the same events, ever, and don’t even let you all invite each other to the same events is ridiculously. They need an option to link accounts together. I work in Irvine and my fiancé works in Hollywood, we both live together in LA. Because we are in different cities during the day, we will never get the same event invites and will never be able to invite each other. Surkus needs a major update to work. Also, we’re obviously not going to ditch each other if only one of us gets cast. They need to be able to link accounts to lower cancellation rates. 2 stars, because the customer support rep was very nice.

The few times I used this service it worked great except tonight when I saw that there was a free event to see Young Thug in which I arrived at the scheduled 9:45 show up time and was asked to pay at the door. They decided (since apparently this wasn’t discussed with the club Lure in advanced) that only the first 10 people would gain free entry. Now while I am normally not one to complain; I am now. Not only did I waste my time getting ready for this but, I used my good cologne, put on my good shirt and pregamed for what I thought was free. I’m just saying this was a big inconvenience for myself and if you wanted me to just go to the event to pay entry... just ask don’t lie about it or better yet be organized.

I like to use Surkus sometimes even though they are usually paying 5-7 times less for parties than promoters.
But the bad thing is you can build your member rating for a long time and get that VIP status but if you won’t respond for 2 invitations it will drop so significantly that you will need to build it for a long time again. I understand drop when you “nonshow” but for not responding it doesn’t feel right. Sometimes I don’t use Surkus for a month or more and after that I’m usually with so low rating that I cannot get any good invitations.
If they won’t drop rating for “not responding “ I’ll give them 4 stars.

Recently downloaded Surkus per friends request. We attended one event & i was going to recommend Surkus to my friends....however... noticed my friend who is younger was getting offer to the particular event & was telling me to sign up but I told him they were not showing up on my feed. He even sent me the link & I've got a notice that i am not “selected” for the particular event. We figured must be the age bracket ... Will be getting rid off Surkus & making sure all of the business women who buy their own drinks do not download Surkus. Thank you.

I was invited to Country Costal Jam on April 8th, 2018. The only thing I had to do to get the tickets was post to Instagram a picture of me with the person I wanted to go with and tag this app by April 7th. I followed this step and this app responded by saying I would have two tickets at will call. At 11pm on April 7th I was marked a no-show and my rating dropped ALOT even though I followed the directions. I went to the event on April 8th and my name was not on the list of this app members even though I had posted to social media on time as requested. I also messaged the Ambassador and she never responded. I emailed this app several times but they are unwilling to fix my rating or even acknowledge that they made a mistake!! I have no other issues with Surkus. I enjoyed the other events I went to previously!

Cool app and it offers some fun experiences. However, there are a lot of things that could be configured better. For instance, a way to switch off notifications for opportunities while you’re out of town/traveling so your rating doesn’t go down by not responding to opps. Also, I believe another person mentioned this, but a way to link to accounts together. I’m married. If I get cast and my husband doesn’t, there’s no way I’m going. Linking accounts or “families” together would be helpful. We don’t have kids and are free for a majority of these opportunities but when one of us gets cast and the other doesn’t, we cancel because it’s not worth it.

Went to my first ever this app app event yesterday, Monday December 10th, 2018 at the Holiday Commission Party. Basically it was dedicated for small business owners celebrating their achievement, discussing with others small business bout their achievements ect... live music, live dj ect... information about the event was clear with the exception of the time and that it was not paid. I arrived 2 hours beforehand only to find out by the coordinator at the venue that the party did not start until 5:45. Luckily this app support staff responded immediately (you can also message them on Instagram but they will most likely direct you to contact support staff). ANYWAY I HAD MY CAR TO CHILL IN, SPOKE TO THE SUPPORT STAFF TO INFORM THEM OF THE WRONG INFORMATION ECT🤭🤗🤗.
Also I was under the impression that I would get paid. I did not, but however at least when you get paid it will say it on the event!! IF THERE IS THE PAYMENT INCLUDED IN THE DESCRIPTION OF AN EVENT YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND TOO THAT MEANS ITS PAID!! But what I realized that we, this app critics are able to attend parties for Free, receive perks, and invite a plus one most of the time. We experience many kinds of events and basically if you think about now I also have experience as a “critic”!!! Thanks this app and I look forward to have fun, critique and enjoy all the events you throw at me.

this app is a great way to try new things and get refunded for every day purchases. So far, I’ve done about 5 events and they’ve all been very smooth and I’ve been refunded the price immediately. this app normally gives you the full rebate of the product and then an extra bonus amount, which is nice because it gives the extra incentive to follow through and thoroughly review the products.

The only thing I don’t enjoy is how competitive the products are. I have VIP status and I wasn’t selected for the last 8 events before I finally got to do one. I feel like the VIP status should give you first priority to events. There aren’t many VIP only events so I don’t really get what the point of being a vip member is. Also, there aren’t that many in-person events in the Chicagoland area which I would like to see more of.

I NEVER write reviews for apps but this app deserves it! I’ve gotten to try some really cool products for basically FREE and I joined not even 3 weeks ago. You get the cost of products refunded to you at a 100% rate, there is NO catch. I haven’t taken advantage of the events side of Surkus too much, but they also have really cool invites to fun local events for FREE as well. I’ve never experienced anything like this and I am literally recommending Surkus to whoever will listen

Been using it nearly every week for 2 years and I’ve seen so many cool events I wouldn’t be able to go to otherwise, and even got to try some new products! Made moving to a new city so much easier, and I’ve had a 100% seamless experience with it on every activity.

I can't cash out. I keep getting a message that Stripe is down. I've been trying for several days. When will this be resolved? How can I get my refund?

Surkus has an ongoing issue with PayPal and individuals NOT being able to cash out and receive the funds they have earned. I have not been able to cash out in months.
