It’s actually awful, please hire someone who can make an app

SCFederalCreditUnion is actually such a problem. I’ve had to delete and redownload it three times because it will lock me out and say I violated security policies and it locks me out so I can’t even attempt to sign in to my account. And I don’t even know what the security policy’s are! I just check it to see my account balance i have no clue what that violated. Face ID worked for the first week maybe and has never worked since, even though it’s always turned on. And I’ve turned it on and off just to see if it would work again. SCFederalCreditUnion use to never show me my account number even though it was supposed to, I use to have to check the website. That finally started working the other day. Compared to the banking apps my friends have this one is terrible. It also just won’t work half the time, it will just say you have to call your bank. Also if you put your password in wrong it won’t tell you that was the issue it will tell you to call ur bank since there’s difficulties or something. I will say I do think they recently updated it cause some things are working a little better. I wish I could say the details but I can’t since I’m locked out of my account for some violation that is only for SCFederalCreditUnion .

Lots of problems

Very frustrating app. Most of the time you can't even log in. A message pops up that says "unable to authorize access at this time." I have been unable to upload a check through SCFederalCreditUnion either. Or it will say the check went through, then a week later say it never went in. I like the quick balance feature, and that you can transfer money between checking and savings but it doesn't really matter when you can't even get into your account the majority of the time.

If I could give zero stars I would

When they initially created SCFederalCreditUnion I was so excited my bank finally moved into the 21st century. However, I got locked out of my account for having the wrong credentials when in fact they weren't. Two years later I tried again assuming they had some updates to SCFederalCreditUnion . Nope, got locked out of my account again (every time you get locked out you have to call the bank and wait at least 45mins to get unlocked). And yes my credentials were correct every time - I have no problem logging in on a desktop.

Useless app that crashes every time I log in

SCFederalCreditUnion is completely broken. It doesn’t work and hasn’t worked for months. When I call customer support, they tell me to re-download SCFederalCreditUnion . When I tell them that doesn’t work they just say “well you can use our online website on the phone.” Well then what is the point in having SCFederalCreditUnion ?

I’m in the process of switching banks. I suggest you do the same. SC federal’s quality of service has been on the decline for years. SCFederalCreditUnion was just the nail in the coffin for me

The worst

I NEVER leave reviews....this place deserves it. This is the worst bank of all time. Period.

I never got the email they said would be sent in 2 business days after trying multiple times. Logging in is impossible. Getting a loan through this organization is the worst decision I've ever made. I've had it for 3 months and still have to jump through hoops to pay my bill by phone and pay an $11 service fee every time. I've never had this difficult of a time paying a bill in my life. Awful. Almost like they want you to fail. Can't wait to refi to Navy Federal

Always crashing

SCFederalCreditUnion is always crashing or saying they’re unable to validate my information. When I call the bank they always say SCFederalCreditUnion is down right now. It’s really frustrating to have an app that is down every two days when I need to be able to see my account balance to make payments or be able to transfer money within my account. When it is up and working, it’s a really great app and makes everything convenient. I’m just very frustrated with it constantly not working, and getting ahold of anyone at the bank is always a long process.

Took Away Landscape and iPad usage terrible now.

The new version had several roll-out problems but most seem to be fixed after a couple of weeks of debugging. Not unexpected. What is terrible is that it is only configured to run portrait mode and is terrible for those of us who use a keyboard and iPad as our primary device. I have to physically pick up the device, manually rotate to the side, and try to do everything with the tiny popup keyboard. I cannot believe that one of the developers did not pick up on this! I’m rating a 2-star because this is a pretty elementary concept they missed combined with the expected roll-out issues (remember the credit card issues last week). I really hope there was no bonus payout on the development contract! If so, it should be DOGE’d (okay too soon for that joke I guess)! Honestly hoping they have a few sprints left on the development. As a note: both my Navy Federal and USAA apps work just fine in landscape. I hope I don’t have to transfer everything to one of them since I have been with SCFCU since it was still CNSFCU back in the day.

New update frustrating

The new update launched on March 4th isn’t good. It’s so slow. Has signed me out when I hit a back button. Does not show the same intuitive information for my credit card and next due dates. I have to re-add my extra cards to “cards”. The UI is clunky and hard to navigate. And there is no dark mode, which isn’t huge but I miss it.

The forced update at launch should be optional. I would have preferred to wait on an update until you work out the bugs.

New Interface

The new update is fine. I personally do not like the new interface. AT ALL. Everything looks the same, its the same color, font, and its super bright. All the font is the same size as well which makes it hard to see what is what on first glance. The charges on an account are very big whereas previously you could view multiple in the account activity at once. I wish there was a way you could edit the lay out and maybe even do a dark/light mode or something for people who do/dont like the new interface. I very much loved the way the old format was, it was easily separated and you could quickly see what you needed. Id really love it if we could have the option to change the layout color/size or something.

Need Lecture On Ease of Use

I love my bank, never really had any issues. However, SCFederalCreditUnion is not user friendly. Constantly can’t establish a connection, when you’re obviously on data and/or WiFi, and constantly can’t authorize your login credentials. I can go to the webpage and put my login information in and gain access pretty much any minute of the day, but doing the same thing through SCFederalCreditUnion proves highly frustrating. I usually avoid SCFederalCreditUnion like the plague, in hopes that when I think about downloading it again, that it will work. I feel like 2 years ago it worked much better than now. Let’s get back to the drawing board.

New Update

Honestly this new update is not my favorite. Everything is slow, and my statement are not showing the correct balances on my account. I called customer service yesterday, and it took 2 departments to figure out where the money I transferred to my CC went. Even today it says I didn’t make a payment. I think there needs to be a few more updates to get this right. It’s very very very frustrating.

Constant Problems

SCFederalCreditUnion consistently has problems (more so than any other app I use). Extremely frustrating. The “stay logged in” feature, as well as the Face ID/Touch ID features NEVER. WORK. You have to re log in every single time, and 1/3 of the times SCFederalCreditUnion gives an error message like “unable to authenticate information.” What good is a mobile banking app if you aren’t able to use it from a mobile device?

Was good, but is glitching

I used to like SCFederalCreditUnion but lately it has been having several issues. The check deposit option says I am taking two pictures of the front when one is the front and one is the back. Also, the keyboard has been having issues. I wish the corrections would roll out, but for a banking app it has all the needed features. I honestly just prefer calling to get things done because the employees are so helpful.

Best Bank! Great but unreliable app…

Ok, so I’ve been really happy with SCFCU and their app for a while. Best bank ever! They constantly upgrade and fix bugs and make things better. But for the past few months, SCFederalCreditUnion randomly will just log me or and back in. It’s not crashing - I’ll just be in the middle of depositing a check or scrolling through balances or any other random thing, and it’ll suddenly jump back to the “logging in” page. Really frustrating when you’ve just gone through all the steps to deposit a check and then have to do it all again. If they will fix that issue, definitely back up to 5 stars!

too slow. change it back.

this new update is garbage. i’ve been using SCFederalCreditUnion for at least 6 years and it has never been SO SLOW. does it still do the job? sure, if you wanted the job done poorly. there’s too much going on, you can’t turn on dark mode, one tap takes a whopping 5 seconds to process, and everything is a nightmare.

Has its quirks...however

First off, i’d like to point out that i’m an active individual with a busy work life on a weekly paycheck. SCFederalCreditUnion is awesome in the fact that i can make adjustments on the go. At one point in time i had to drop money on some new car tires. It was as easy as popping up SCFederalCreditUnion and transferring some money to checking. It also has made me much more conscious of how much i spend! Having SCFederalCreditUnion does make handling my affairs MUCH easier. And it works 90% of the time.(good percentage if you ask me!)

Very good so far

I’ve had my account for about a week and I can say my only complaint so far is that SCFederalCreditUnion is not allow a Face ID option. This isn’t actually anything wrong with the service. It’s just a little inconvenient to have to type in your whole password every single time you want to check your balance.

Using it for 3 years it great

It's not perfect but I can see my money in real time, transfer funds when needed. Even deposit my check if I'm too busy to stop at the branch. I have never had a problem with it. I'm ok with the extra security features that's what I expect my credit union to do. I see a lot of negative reviews but it's a simple app and functions fine. It doesn't have to be fancy it just needs to be accurate. I have been the next person in line at the store and transferred funds from one checking to another because I left my card in a pocket at home, the money was in the other account instantly and saved myself a lot of embarrassment.

Multi-functionality

If this weren’t for my bank it would be a 3, but since it’s used for the most important facets of our lives dealing with money I give it an extra star. It’s upgraded, but I haven’t used the new upgraded service yet.
I am thankful for SCFederalCreditUnion as it has save mine and my wife’s bacon more than once. The only bummer I’ve found to date is that there’s a limited # of transfers each month, but of course I can go to my local office for more. I’d set the limit at 10 if it were me but I guess they like seeing my handsome and rugged good looks more often. 😂
Having lived through the days when life was in B & W, this is a huge difference in our lives. I can pay all the bills, increase my savings and almost everything I could hope to do, especially w/o leaving my recliner.
As far as were concerned, all y’all @ SCFCU have got it goin’ on. It ain’t perfect, but it does what I need it to.

Poor upgrade

The recent upgrade doesn’t allow me to use my fingerprint, pay bills and it’s extremely slow. Also, it only actually lets me log in about 2 out of 10 tries. Please revert back to the prior program which had no problems.
