I’m sorry Lush but you’re really off the mark in LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics. The basic need of LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is to have shopping that I can easily complete, which I was able to do with the other app (white icon), very simply and not have to remember logins, or retype my address etc and payment details. You are literally introducing friction to purchasing with LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics which will have impact on your revenue. There’s no point producing a bunch of content that is primary demands stimulation, if you don’t make it easy for people to actually purchase the product from their phone.
Having two apps where you get rid of the one that was working fine, smacks of having ‘big company-itis’ and shipping pet projects, instead of doing the right thing for customers and your bottom line.

My experience as a long time customer who loves Lush products and ethos has been tainted because I have had numerous problems with the kitchen subscription box (not being able to change my address after I moved - multiple months of issues), so that is another commerce system fail, and now LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics issue means I will just spend less with you. Thanks - it’s been wild.

Each time Lush updates its app I have to brace myself because it keeps getting worse. They’re completely focused on visual dazzle dazzle in LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics and not ease of use. I’m a regular Lush customer but it’s a real drag ordering from LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics. They’ve completely removed categories so now you have to know the exact product you want if you want to order it. You can’t browse by categories like face, lip, bath, body bar, perfume, etc. They even used to have a category by preferred scents (floral, green, etc) which I loved but they predictably did away with (because anything that’s convenient has to go!) Plus, I used to like to browse certain products, put it in my basket and come back to it a day or two later and it would still be there. Now it’s gone if you don’t buy it on the spot! I put multiple items in my basket which I probably would have purchased (I’ve already done several orders this way) - but I now can’t remember what I put in there and of course I certainly can’t search it by category! They also did away with a wishlist so I can’t refer to a list of my faves to keep track (because of course that would be convenient - so let’s do away with it!) I can assure the company that I’ll be doing a lot LESS ordering with LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics. (And I’ve placed multiple orders at hundreds of dollars at a pop - so you’ve lost my business at least.)

Why would you get rid of categories and all of the other subdivisions? With the new design you have to know exactly what you’re looking for. Horrible browsing experience. I have short term memory. How am I to remember the name of every product? Can’t find anything now. Not to mention all of the products that are shown that aren’t even available at this time that are wasting all of the space on LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics . Not user friendly. Whomever came up with this design and those that agreed to it were not thinking things through. Major turnoff. Ruins shopping on LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics .

I dislike the new app. I cannot pull up my old orders. Apple Pay has failed and I missed out on the toil and trouble perfume. Lush has gone down hill. It makes me sad. Instead of really finding me one or sending something in compensation - they just said, oops. Sorry. Then it let me at toil & trouble perfume AGAIN to my cart. Let me check out. Only for it to be out of order?! I will never order from lush again not only for this reason but because prices have gone so far up and they’re taken lanolin out of the best of products. They’ve always sent me broken stuff. Customer care told me to reach out to stores when the perfume was an online only promotion. Obviously customer care has gone down. I’m so upset. So disappointed. The quality of the products has become more for aesthetics and less for quality - especially bath bombs. I’m so upset. I know this started as an app review but Lush has lost me as a customer. I will find dupes or something else for way cheaper and way better. Bring back the good stuff. The good bath oils that were round. Bring back more moisturizing in the bath bombs instead of fragrance and color. It’s so upsetting.

It is impossible to find what kind of scent the bath bombs are now. It never keeps my favorite list, I’m constantly having to re-set up an account with the same email. So all of my purchase history, which I must have purchased hundreds of bath bombs and products over the years ARE ALL GONE! every time you update LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics , everything is erased! and the bath bombs no longer come individually wrapped. They are all shoved in a box together, leaving them all crumbling up against each other! they used to be individually wrapped with a sticker of who made them! they used to make sure the product was not exposed to other products and carefully packaged! and what happened to all the variety of the bath bombs? Most are out of stock now, and hardly any are unique anymore! i’m very disappointed with LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics , but most of all, I’m disappointed with Lush. I miss the way they used to be. I miss the care they used to have and the pride in their products.

I love Lush products and have been a customer for around ten years. The new app is visually appealing but is super difficult to actually shop. Products don’t have any descriptions, there are no categories to search for products, you can’t order to pick up in store, and the cart and wishlist are super glitchy. Sometimes I get errors and sometimes it works. My cart had 26 items and then all of a sudden it was empty. The old app with the white logo worked way better. The new app is basically useless and until the shopping experience is drastically improved, I won’t be using it at all. I wish these issues were fixed before they cut the old app off. :(

You can’t search or browse by product type. And now they’ve made the old (white) app completely inactive.
From the start of this new app’s release, this has been a consistent complaint in reviews and comments on other blogs online.
Why has this fallen on deaf ears? It’s cool that you can scan a naked product and see the details, but this doesn’t even remotely make up for the removal of browsing / discovering product types.

I just can’t wrap my brain around this.
Lush, you have essentially cut out the ability for customers to purchase / try out / discover new products via the mobile app…
If I am a customer and want to explore what products are available - whether they be newly released or just new to me - how am I to do so? How am I to see any of these? You have to know the exact name of the product to find it with just a type-in search bar.

It’s infuriating.

I have deleted both apps, and considering I make 100% of my purchases via the mobile app (ordering 1-2 times a month) they’ll be losing a significant portion of my business.

Lush, please please fix this.

App was even more horrible on Boxing Day. You couldn’t even see the entire stock of what’s available. By the time I had put items in my bag for purchase, I wouldn’t know what was out of stock until trying to pay and again it was not specific on said items that are not available. Nor would the shopping bag update on the out of stock. Too many back and forth just to get rid of an item. This year was a joke. There was not much communication on when LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics would be available and the same for stores about Boxing Day. Hopefully LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics makes some changes going into the new year and making the overall shopping experience better

I’ve never taken the time to write a review of an app before however this needed to be said. LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is AWFUL. It’s impossible to find products as there are NO PRODUCT CATEGORIES. What? It’s just odd.

The old app was wonderful and I wish I had reviewed that one. 5 stars for sure. Then they made me get rid of it and download this one. From 5 stars to Zero… if only I could.

Not only are there no categories, their search parameters (example, searching for “soap”) bring up items have nothing to do with the search. I keep waiting for them to fix it & no such luck. I’ve been buying from Lush for over 15 years. It may be time to switch things up.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics doesn’t allow you to see lush’s full catalog. They have a a few features collections on the home page but everything else you have to search for specifically in the search bar. I want to see all of the products but I almost have to look at the website in order to even know what to search for to find to order. Their website also has gone downhill recently but still better than LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics. LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics used to be good over a year ago but whoever changed it made some bad choices.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is worse than its predecessor which admittedly worked out decently well enough— you can’t browse through LUSH products and have to know what you want in order to search for it. Removing categories of products (bath/shower/body/face/fragrance) in lieu of a “naked product scanner” means we can no longer shop with ease. This is a far cry from a pleasant shopping experience, let alone feeling luxury.

I would love to know why LUSH makes it more difficult for customers to want to remain customers, and this new app is a reflection of that.

i think that there was more effort put into making the Jeremy Renner app. Slow as internet explorer and very likely to have the knowledge of it. Also, if you want to see items that have been out of stock for 6 months, download! But if you want to actually see what lush has, go to their website haha. LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics doesn’t offer anything that would make you want to download it. There isn’t sales or discounts or literally anything. Early access doesn’t even work half the time.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics AND website are completely nonfunctional. An endless scroll app and website that only display a few products and does not have any links to categories or other products is completely useless. I do not understand why a company that sells products would not give a bar at the top with categories for their products. Do they only want to sell the 3 products listed? I’m genuinely so confused if they are going bankrupt or shutting down because there’s no other reason for not having a website to order the products they make. Why bother making it if no one can buy it?

Regularly buy one of the dusting powders and it doesn’t show up in LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics . None of them do. Don’t need LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics if I still have to order off the website.

Unfortunately the new app is so hard to use I won’t be ordering anymore :( unless they fix it. Can’t see my wishlist, cant browse any products without directly searching the name of it- names that I shouldn’t have to screenshot or memorize to remember what I wanted to buy, can’t save things in cart, can’t see store availability, don’t have the option to pick up in store or ship. All of these things you could do in the other app. They had a perfect app that was easy and simple to use. Unfortunately I just won’t be spending any more money at lush until they can fix what they broke.

Sure, LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics can access my camera now and track when I’m taking a bath, but at what cost? Everything about the shopping experience is broken (and no, you can’t click the smiley face to sign in as sidesteps on another review - that just lets me change the setting to keep the display on in the bath).

Please fix this. We can’t be expected to use barely functioning tech for super cool app exclusive early product launches in the state it’s in.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is awful. You can’t just scroll through and find all the products, you have to type exactly what you’re looking for. If there is a way to see what’s available in my store like the previous app allowed, I haven’t figured it out yet. It also showcases a lot of products that aren’t available, many more than the previous version did. I’d give this zero stars if I could. The products cost enough that lush should be able to make a decent, useful app.

What a horrible experience! We were told to download LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics for the Mario exclusive, but then it was only available on the old app?! Trash. You can’t even effectively shop on LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics let alone check out.

The interface is not user friendly, let alone functional. Most users aren’t able to sign in and complete check out. As a developer, I’m embarrassed that this new app made it into final production.

Unless you want to shop a new collection or you know the exact name of a product LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is in need of updating. I want to browse by category and that is not an option. I cannot use the menu available on the website. It’s a delete for me

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics makes it hard to find what I’m looking for. I typed “bar soap” into the search bar and 4 items came up, none of which were soaps…

I’ll stick to the website. The previous app was just as hard to use in my opinion.

North American customers can’t even sign in or update ANY setting such as billing info, shipping address or literally anything useful so why is LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics even live? The whole purpose of downloading apps for shopping is for an easier customer experience and that could not be farther from what this is. Please add some useful features and maybe I’d use it more.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics used to be fine. Then it was updated with stuff that no one cares about (immersive bathing experience?? I’ll use Spotify, thanks). And they removed the ability to log in to your own account and favorite items?! Why?? This has rendered LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics useless for me.

Update 4/1:

I reached out to LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics support team as requested and was told that North American users are not able to log in to their accounts on the new version of LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics because it’s not supported for us. What?! So you’re alienating what I suspect is a huge portion of your customer base by making LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics unusable for us. You can’t create a Lush North America app?? This is so silly to me.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is useless at this point. You’re unable to navigate and filter what you want to find, so you pretty much have to know what you already want after browsing the website. Lush advertises “app only” presales and items, but what’s the point when you can’t even find them unless you know their exact name to put in the search? Just more proof this place is going downhill and sacrificing their once admired quality.

I love lush, but LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics update has made it nearly impossible to use LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics . You can’t find anything on it, it’s impossible to navigate. It doesn’t show you anything that could be in stock at a local store that you used to be able to order for pickup and still can off of the website. I can’t check my account for my saved favorites or anything. Please go back to the old app.

I'm disappointed in LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics, especially because they seem to have earlier access to new products and stuff. As others have mentioned, the lack of categories to look through makes browsing the product catalog nearly impossible. I also am having an issue where after going to one of the categories off the main page (with the "Shop the Collection" button), and then after returning to the main page, the button to go to any other category doesn't work at all. You have to restart LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics , which clears your cart, which is another issue. I would love a wishlist option as well, especially if the cart won't remember things you put in it for any amount of time. Please make this functional!!

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is set up very poorly. There should be a tab that has each category ‘bath, shower, hair’ etc like the website does. Instead LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is set up with sections of scents and yoh have to scroll a lot to find what you’re looking for. Annoying. I will be deleting an app and sticking with the website.

I LOVE Lush and the products are amazing!! However, I do not love this new app. There is no way to go to your account settings nor see active or past orders. The old Lush app, that is still up, is much more user friendly and easy to navigate. With this new app, it’s not easy to search sub categories. You must scroll the entire page to find what you need rather that having a menu section to click which category you’d like to see. I’d almost rather use the desktop version over LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics. On a positive note, it looks pretty but just not super functional. Hoping to be able to put a 5 star review if modifications are made.

Why is there no hamburger menu? I want to be able to look at all the bath bombs. Not only shop by collections. I feel like I’m missing out on products and nothing is accessible compared to the previous app experience. I’d also like to be able to log in and see my account info like previous purchases etc. shopping by category is important to me enjoying my shopping experience. Hoping for a major update soon.

I’ve been a Lush shopper for over 10 years. I don’t like this new app, and IMO it doesn’t have many of the practicality features the previous app did. I like that you can search for old products to see their scent profile and reviews, that’s about the only thing I find more useful within the new app when compared to the previous. However…there are some glaringly obvious things that I imagine weren’t thought of before Lush discontinued the old app. I can’t see my previous orders, can’t keep things in my cart (they disappear after just an hour?) and I can’t favorite/wishlist items. These were things that I’m sure most people would say are what makes or breaks an apps usability. I’ll update my review if these things are fixed.

My birthday is coming soon, June 1st, and I would like to know if there were any birthday freebies and how I would be able to get them. I’ve seen videos about them having birthday freebies and them no having birthday freebies so I’m getting mixed signals. Also, there is no “Rewards” on LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics so I am assuming there is no Birthday freebies but if there is please let me know!

The white background Lush app was perfectly fine. Everything had a a category, you could explore easily, and was user friendly (save for the favorites tab, but oh well.) LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics is completely unmanageable. You have to know exactly what you are looking for, no room to explore. I’ve avoided using this version of LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics for as long as possible but the white background app will no longer be updated to my knowledge.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics looks great and is pleasing to scroll around on but there’s no way to shop categories or new products without searching for the exact product. There’s also no way (that I’ve found) to choose to pick up in a store. You have to go to the lush website. It’s just an overall disappointment from the old lush app.

I enjoyed using the previous app, where it listed all the different categories and then you could see all the options for face, body, hair, etc. Now you have to specifically know what you are looking for. Also where did the log in go to save my information instead of checking out as a guest? Not liking the new app so far :(

I love Lush but am disappointed with LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics . It needs a store locator and favorites list. They’d have a lot more of my money if they had a rewards system.

I have mixed feelings about LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics. It’s very convenient to find ingredient lists. The search is mostly good, searching for bath bombs also included a few other random items. When you get to the bottom of the screen in a search, the page glitches before refreshing with more results. My other feedback is that I would really love a dark mode option and USA pricing. I think I’ll go back to using the website for now.

Really love the convenience of being able to buy Lush products. I’ve had LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics for years, but I hadn’t used it in a few months. I came back to a lot of changes. For one thing my wishlist was blank.
Second, when I tried to re-enter my info (because for some odd reason all of my personal info including my address was gone) I kept getting an error message that read “Data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format” and the error message popped it no matter what I did or changed. So I tried to log out and log back in hoping that would solve the issue but when I tried to log back in I got the SAME error message. So now I can’t get back into my Lush account on LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics 🙃 it seems like there needs to be some work done to make it more intuitive and user friendly.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics has amazing content and is aesthetically pleasing! The ability to scan a bath bomb in store and preview the bath art you will get is FANTASTIC! However when horizontal scrolling through the sound scapes I am unable to navigate all the way to the end. It’s like it’s stuck in one spot. I also believe Halloween content is suppose to be up on LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics and I cannot find it. Once these bugs are fixed I’m sure LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics will be great and I’ll be happy to update to 5 stars

Visually pleasing app but drawbacks are can’t create favorites list, can’t select store location or pick up vs shipping, doesn’t show number of items in stock at location (so yesterday an item was in stock every size on older app, today I clinked on every size and simply got ‘system error’ instead of out of stock or select in stock at a store nearby or online option), and the shopping cart empties after a few hours…(but I can’t create a list of favorites or “save for later”, so I have to start over each time), I haven’t gotten to the checkout yet to see the ease of functionality yet. I’m a huge fan of Lush so I hope they work out the bugs of LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics.

The recent update has made LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics very difficult to browse. Prior to the update you were able to brows by concern or the specific product type that you wanted; bath, shower, face, hair, etc. Now it’s like you almost have to know exactly what you’re searching for because you know how longer has this option. The only products that are easily looked at are the ones they have on their homepage (new or promoted products)

I am a loyal Lush customer for years and rely on your website to order products. I live rurally so the added option of free shipping if purchasing over a certain amount is no issue because I order quite a lot of products. I also loved choosing a sample product because I do not have the option of a local store to try new products. I was disappointed to say these two benefits of ordering online are now removed with my last purchase. I know this will affect my future purchases, as I debate for days to even order the products I had in my cart. I hope my feedback addressing direct impacts to my experience will be considered.

I don’t like that I can no longer buy online and pick up in store. I don’t like to wait for shipping. It is convenient to just go in store and pick up your items. It hard to search for things now as well

There’s no ‘subscription box’ info. in the new app. You have to go to the website to retrieve that.
And, the link ‘buttons’ to go to certain pages do not work. (Tap, ‘new products’ for example, nothing happens.) You have to go to ‘search’ to get to anything. And where’s the ‘buy online, pick up in store’ part? And no more ‘store availability’? TONS OF GLITCHES AND NON-WORKING AREAS OF THIS NEW SITE. Not so user-friendly.

Disappointed that I cannot use LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics to shop for pick up at my local store location. The search function works very well but browsing is not user friendly because LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics does not follow conventional online shopping structure.

I love lush and hope that they can give LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics a decent redesign(and keep previous accounts unlike last time)

I mainly get the Lush products for my daughters. Only complaint is I wish there packaging was a little better. I do very large orders for them on their birthdays and Christmas so I get very disappointed when the bath bombs come broken up and crumbled in the box. It happens often, more then one item too. And the closest store option is over 2 hours away. Otherwise they love Lush product.

LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics isn’t what I expected, however, I ended up loving it more than what I WAS expecting! I love that there are bath meditations/sound baths and that LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics has transitioned to more of an “experience” app (although some may not agree with me). I can shop for my products online just fine. But I love that LushFreshHandmadeCosmetics caters to your well-being and not just consumerism. Again, if I want to buy a LUSH product, I can just go to their website! This is an awesome app and I really enjoyed my latest bath listening to “Lakes”. I loved the Irish twist on it that transported me Ireland itself. So relaxing!

If I had one critique, it would be that the shopping portion is not user friendly. As someone with an IT degree, I would recommend changing the shipping tab to have a full menu of categories and more photos on the home page of the tab.

I love lush, I never even thought of buying outside salon stores, but wow has made such a difference in my kin and hair, it’s been great, I can now style my wavy hair more naturally with minimal heat only my bangs and my hair looks fine, no more frizz my waves come together nicely, my daughters hair looks sooooo much better, it’s surprising, I just bought a huge overhaul of products to try out, thanks Lush, you’ve made a huge difference in our lives, looks like we are forever customers

I did like the old app….but the new one works even better. Good lord, stop with the “I’m not shopping here anymore.” Yeah….you'll be buying from lush again. Anyway, Keep up the great work and not gonna lie, I’m due for a refill on some stuff!!
