I have played this game for over and month and enjoy the game. The one-star review. however. is my attempt to point out the inept management of the game by the developers. The game frequently runs unannounced server maintenance which interrupts game play. These interruptions do not result in a freezing of the game. however...everything continues to run in the background. I had just set a group attack and was rallying troops from my alliance members when the game went into maintenance. as a result of this. what was an easy battle win turned into half my troops being destroyed. A whole week worth of troops training. resource gathering. and in-game current expenditures was wiped out in an instant because the developers don't have the courtesy to inform players that maintenance will occur. Even a minute's notice would have saved my investment. When I contacted them to complain and ask for compensation. I got an incoherent apology saying that they were sorry for the inconvenience. Stealing my investment in their game through bad faith actions is not an inconvenience. it's theft!

Coupled with the random app glitches. the constant stream of ads to buy in-game currency. and the events all designed to make you spend resources and kill off your troops. I realize this game is just a cash cow for the developers. You can find another game that is better developed with more responsive customer service. Play something else!

The game can be fun and there are some cool people to met. However there is a prolific problem with external software that exploits the game allowing some players have an unfair advantage against other players (at least one alliance mandates the use of it). Were this software available to everyone I supposed it would be almost fair. However， all of the information regarding these exploitations are only in Chinese. One would have to some familiarity with the language， I minored in Mandarin， to even locate this software and then enough mastery to setup the software to exploit the game. I have combed through several of the public alliance boards and this data is only present in the Chinese language. Temporary player accounts will periodically post links to the services that will charge players a fee to use these exploits to automate farming and cheat the system to increase resources. Feel free to verify these claims: find posts that are neatly formatted with a lot of brackets; "QQ" and a contact number are almost always included; an unnamed player will spam the general chat with Chinese and "t.a.o.b.a.o." followed by a number (go to taobao . com and then search for that number it will bring up one of these exploit apps to purchase); and those that use these exploits seem to have a clockwork-like ability to recuperate. If you insist on playing the game please feel free to do so and enjoy the attack of the robots!

So my boyfriend got me into this game and it's fun!.. at first.
When I first started playing having a level 16 castle was a big deal and it was cool being able to talk to diff people around the world. Its nice in the way where you always have an objective. Research something to grow stronger， build your buildings to grow stronger， ect. The problem is i took a break for about 6 months and when I came back everyone was much much stronger. The alliance I'm in is hunted and killed everyday， so it makes it super frusterating. My boyfriend joined the #1 strongest alliance in our kingdom and quit afterwords bc he said it was no longer fun bc he was so much stronger than everyone. he only killed much lower level castles， and was in alliance with all the alliances who were just as strong or just a little less string then his. It just makes me want to quit bc the bugs havent got any better. I like playing when people are attacking but not when my device I'm playing on keeps turning the game off and by the time i get back on I've lost so much power and it takes like a week to regain it. Plus it takes alot of my time and money for me not getting anywhere in the long run. I dont know weather to recommend or not. but like i said， it's addicting， so be prepared.
*note: you don't have to buy anything or spend your money to get far. its a choice that many however make*

Great game. Have been playing daily for several years now. Only honest complaint is the game is very tilted word the people that have nothing better to do with $$$ than to blow hundreds and in some cases a thousand dollars on this game. ELEX needs to come up with a formula that separates the big money spenders from the others who play the game on a budget. I have finally reached a P5 castle and can’t even stand up to some of these people who have spent tons of money and marvel army’s that number in the hundreds of millions. Fair? Not at all.
ELEX is certainly entitled to a profit. I don’t care how big a profit they make either. You just need to separate these massive castles that have spent hundreds and thousands of dollars building their castles from the rest of the players. I’m really tired of loosing my entire army and everything else to one of these monsters. I do spend $$$ on this game and so do most of the players. We will leave this game in time if a separation of such extreme powers can’t be done.
We love the game and the friends we have made while playing. Dont ruin it all by ignoring this one big issue.

I played for about 2 years. Don’t waste your time and hard earned money。 the game is too corrupted by online companies selling resources cheap。 and hackers cheating the system meanwhile the game developers do nothing to stop it. The game is filled with automatic bot farms helping those with large castles grow to levels that make fun game play absolutely impossible. Unless you’re a P5 or higher all you do is shield up。 you can’t battle。 you’re too small to do anything。 the only thing that works in this game is the amazing people you will meet。 but unless your ready to drop 5K or more (a lot more) forget playing the game。 the outrageously large castle will just wipe you out. Can’t start in a fresh kingdom now。 because they now allow these huge castles to jump into new kingdoms to just feed on the small castles. Forget communication with the game developers even when you show them hard video of game cheats being used。 the most...ever。 if they do anything。 which isn’t often。 is issue a warning。 it doesn’t stop the game cheats。 because the developers flat out don’t care. Hands down COK is the most broken Online RPG game out there...just find some other game to play this one is impossible to enjoy. Worst game in ClashofKings Store!

First off all the advertisements for this game are false. The game in nothing like advertised. Second~ the amount of hackers in this game is insane. You will be constantly attacked by hackers. I would also like to mention that the battle mechanics are set up so that only people who put large sums of money into the game win. Even if you are able to amass a 60k army some dude who spent money to get better troops will come by with the same sized army and only loose 4K men while you loose all. Another thing to mention is the healing process. Once your army is in the hospitals it takes weeks to gain enough resources to heal them. The last thing would be the teleporting system. All the people who spend money on this game are constantly teleporting to different weaker players. They teleport right next to you. They have a 10 second travel time so you have no chance to save your army or anything.

Honestly you will like the game at first. You'll probably put some money into it. I put 30 dollars into it. But once you stop putting money into the game you will be attacked constantly. The developers have no idea what they are doing with this game... Don't waste your time or money.

This is the first negative review I've written for any app. If you are a woman or a parent who has a minor that wants to play this game! please refrain from downloading this. This product promotes and defends a negative image of women and allows women to be sexually objectified. There are many users on ClashofKings that display naked pictures of women that sexually objectify them and there are pictures depicting the act of sex as well. When you join the Kingdom chat you will realize how disgusting many of the users are. When you find that you have had enough and wish to report it! you will find that there is no report button! You have to contact a MOD or the GM who end up doing absolutely nothing about it. I observed one user display a picture FOR OVER A MONTH of two women naked! one straddling the other and kissing! and this person had no repercussions. Other war games have standards. Perhaps! all the people banned from those games have flocked to this one. As for the game play! please know that you can easily find a better one than this. There's nothing special about ClashofKings. The community supported by the GM and MODS are deplorable. Run away while you can.

I tried this and GoW for a little over a week. I tried doing as much as I can with spending only $15. You need an alliance; that helps. Between most people investing most of their paycheck into the game and little kids stealing their parents credit cards to build a POWERFUL city! there is no competition! It really! really isn't fair. You got people playing for the real-time strategy working hard and other people (and kids) using NO STRATEGY and just keep spending hundred & eventually thousands of dollars. Those people that spend the money will eventually get to you! conquer you! kill your troops and take your Hero and resources. And all that time is WASTED building up an army and city. This game will become part of your budget sooner or later. If you're the type of person who can't resist spending the money! DONT PLAY!

So I actually played this game a few years back and honestly, it was great for a while! My brother told me about how fun it was so I decided to give it a shot. I met a ton of awesome people and the community is pretty cool. The game itself is super interactive and I had a blast building my small virtual empire. I eventually worked my way up into high ranks and it was badarse. 5 stars to the game play!

HOWEVER, the reason myself and many others quit was because we began constantly being taken over by players hacking the game. I would work really hard training troops and preparing for battle, then the next morning I would wake up to everything on fire and my neighbors burnt to ash. Always by the same people too which is just incredibly frustrating. It made me want to weep and so eventually, it irritated me to the point of either chucking my phone against a wall or deleting ClashofKings . I chose the latter. I wanted to download it again during this quarantine but based on the recent comments, it seems like it hasn't changed. -2 stars.

Please do something to fix this! It's not fair to those who actually work hard, to then be pummeled by others who cheat.

Well my title pretty much sums it up . The game is very fun and very addicting and very nerve racking . I have been playing for four years and not even close to being as strong and the strongest players in my kingdom. Yes there are players that do as they see fit and feed on he weak or some would say bully . Y’all keep in mind that this is a war game . Most have respect and some have no respect for others at all.
I have met some really great people from all over the world in this game. I am a defender or protector . Well at lest try to be ... lol.
Playing for over four years I have seen a lot of people come and then quit from being attacked all the time and not able to spend money.
So enjoy it or if your bad tempered I would recommend a different game .

It could be a very fun game and during the time I played I met some great people from all over the world. Here's the problem. The Chinese creators of this game give preference and perks to Chinese players allowing them to build high level castle very quickly. If that wasn't bad enough people have also learned to cheat the system! to create very high level castles which cannot be defended against. So if your idea of fun is constantly having your resources taken and constantly having to rebuild your troops because you have been attacked by a Chinese/cheater (all the same thing)! then you should love this game! On a side note!the kingdom chat is not a place for young children. Even though the "game moderators" claim foul language and offensive subject matter is not allowed! they do NOTHING to even slow it down. Pay attention to the other reviews complaining about Chinese inequities! they are not being prejudice! nor am I! they are just telling you the truth!

Worst customer support i have ever seen in any game in my 14 years online gaming experience. They want your money but they dont want to give back support! any mail you send them they will probably respond with solution by the time you have forgotten it or Deleted COK.
Recently i lost Full Troops level 8 march while trying to camp on empty Location. I was upgrading my castle to level 24 from 23! after waiting 4 days i purchased speed ups from game and completed the upgrade quick! well outcome was i was still at level 23! which is more than amazing i lost 100m resources! my time! my hard-work on it! in simple words be ready to lose all the hardwork you do on this game in any minute. coK are specialists in run away with your money! so watch out before installing or starting this game.
I admit this game is addicting! butby the end you might lose all the hard work! time! specially money you have spent on it.

This game clearly prefers every other device over iphones. First， you can only bind two accounts， either Facebook or Game Center. Meanwhile， other devices can use a google account and have multiple accounts without a problem. Second， updates are slow as hell. Everyone that does not have an iOS， is always 3 steps ahead of you. Third， most likely because of that， the game CRASHES almost every 10 minutes. Fourth， the translator is HORRIBLE， don't try to make friends with a bunch of foreigners because you will not understand a word. Fifth， the support on this game is useless. You have an actual problem or question， oh don't worry， you won't be answered to. And if you do， it repeats itself without answering your question. Sixth， it's a clear copy of Game of War.... Just get that instead if you have an iphone.

This game could be great if it wasn't so fricking biased against iOS.

I will say that when I started playing the game~ it was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. However~ like many others have mentioned here~ out of nowhere there was a blatant and obvious preference for the Chinese alliances. They suddenly dominated nearly all of the kingdoms and make it impossible for you to continue progressing after a certain point due to daily attacks that completely cripple your ability to keep playing. They make the game horrible for everyone else and their rampant dominance goes unchecked because it probably makes the company money. I find myself constantly debating if I even want to keep playing because the Chinese alliances have made it so awful and take all the fun out of trying to build up your castle. If this is not addressed~ I don't see this game lasting another 3 years unless they only want the Chinese alliances to remain playing.

This game has been for many of us an enjoyment and have played for years. The friendships that have been established and then being able to battle together and enjoy the game for what it is were huge benefits. Now, it is very hard to see spenders who are fed up in obtaining the relevant items needed to stay in top and help their teammates during war. Or watch the ones who cannot afford to spend leave because they can’t catch up to keep up with the rest. This game needs to quit coming out with new updates every 3 days making what came out a month ago no longer relevant. Lots of us pay you (Elex) and because of us, Elex can cash a check yet they cannot accommodate to us nor can they fix the bugs and glitches. This game is hanging on it’s last string and Elex new development team is to blame for this. Make your customer happy and then you’ll be happy, Elex. You’re really ticking off a lot of good players and customers and possibly losing them soon. Fix the glitches, serve us in this and then calm down on the updates. Bring back the joy of the game.

While I like the game~ I cannot get the game developers to understand that their Facebook and Game Center settings are broken~ or simply not checking to see if any of the accounts are actually connected. When I try to Bind an account on my iPhone to the Game Center~ it keeps reporting that my Facebook account is already in use. Well~ DUH~ my iPad is bound to my Facebook account. Cannot bind my iPhone to Came Center due to the Facebook account getting in the way. Have tried to tell the In Game support about this issue~ they keep telling me to erase and reload the account. What they don't comprehend is that in doing that~ I will lose access to the game already in play. Since my castle is already under way~ I don't want to lose access to my game. Cannot bind it it to any other account~ because the Binding System is broken.

I am enjoying the game. It has so many things to do. But some of the instructions are hard to understand. I wish they would simplify the way to get more marches. To me, that is the best part of the game. But if your army is tied up helping an alliance member fight, you can’t do any fighting for yourself. And their explanations on how to get another march don’t work for me. It would be so much simpler to simply buy another March if that is what a person chose to do. But other than that frustrating thing, this is a fun game and it’s hard to leave it. I would just like to add that this game is fun but one thing I HATE about any game is running out of energy. The marches are the most fun but they cost energy and I think that is a rip off. I wish they would fix that. I play Bloody West and we have no energy problems. It doesn’t use energy to play the game.
