ExpensesOK makes tracking my expenses so easy and simple. Since I almost always have my phone on me, i can instantly enter expenses as it happens so i don't forget - it's just a really quick entry. You can add expense categories and associate an icon to it as you wish. The charts available is also very helpful in tracking where my money goes and what i spend most on. It just got updated and it can now export to csv format which is great. One thing i miss though is a complete detailed view of my daily spending for the month. The chart groups your expenses into categories but you need to tap into each of the categories to see the individual entries, so i can't easily check my spending from a certain date for example. I can't even check what i spend on two days ago. It keeps individual entries for today and yesterday only. But other than that i think this is a very handy app totally worth getting if you are looking for a simple way to track your money.

I've tried a couple different apps that help me keep track of my spending habits, and this one seems to work best for me. It offers enough detail where I can easily and quickly see what I'm spending my money on, but not so much detail where the user would get exhausted and stop caring about expense tracking (which has happened to me with other expense apps). I can create and customize my categories, and I really like that you can lump several categories into one folder. (An example would be having a separate category for power, water, gas, and internet, then using the folder option to group all of these into one category). The pie chart will show you a slice representing that folder in total. then if you click on the folder you can see a separate pie chart for just that folders subcategories, i.e. all of your utilities broken down. Overall simple, easy, useful app!

I’ve become hooked on this little app. Tracking expenses is my greatest need. Not income (look at the sister app ‘Income OK’ for that, and not budgeting. Categories are customizable which I love. Could use a few more icons but what is supplied covers all the major bases. I was scanning all my receipts and saving/entering them into another app. This is so much easier since I don’t need a picture of an actual receipt. In the ‘notes’ section I can add as much detailed info as I like. The ‘reports’ section gives a sobering overview of exactly where my money is going each month—each category is reflected as a percentage against total spending. I can target exactly where I need to make adjustments. This new update brings something that was missing: iCloud sync. Now, if I could just have an iPad version … !

I use ExpensesOK to keep track of cash expenses, as I live in a foreign country and most good personal financial management apps don't support multiple currencies. This is elegant and simple; I love it because it almost hits the perfect mark for fewest taps necessary. I would buy the paid version in an instant except for the fact that the widget (which I use a lot) is a little annoying with regard to selecting categories. Only 4 categories appear in the widget, and the only way to select other ones is to tap through 4 at a time. If the developers made the widget larger to include more categories in each screen, or made the font and icon smaller to accommodate more categories (I think 8 or 10 per screen would be ideal), that would be perfect. Grateful for this free app!

Keeping track of expenses is so much easier with a visual console, quick entry times, an automatic basic summary shown how much of the pie goes where. It's basic and very functional. All I can ask for more is to add (1) calculator function within to not have to switch apps (lazy, I know) (2) customizable ordering rules for the icons representing expense types and (3) more kinds of stats about expenses, like average days between purchases, frequencies, 80/20 breakdowns, etc - those are my top picks for new additions, and this is by far already the easiest and most functional expenses app I've found yet. 3 months of data now is showing interesting trends. Highly recommend!

Expenses Ok is a nice tool that is easy to learn and navigate...I love the pie charts and sub-categorization that's also reflected by the pie chart breakdown. (Users have a reason they track expenses however that only gets u partly there...no one is doing it just to track expenses and that's it...there is a purpose to it which ExpensesOK solves wonderfully in part but not completely)...it would be great if one could also enter in budgets for each category and then have ExpensesOK track expenses against the budget thereby making ExpensesOK much more helpful...This would help me immensely with my financial goals to stay within budget...I'm sure there's probably an app that does this but if Expenses Ok did this it would make this 4 star nice app into a 5 stars great app in my opinion!

Updated Review 5/5 - app now includes customizable categories. I seriously recommend ExpensesOK in every finance conversation I have.

I was looking for an expenses calculator, and this was exactly what I needed. It's wicked fast to type in my expense at the checkout line and go on my way (so no need to track receipts anymore). The only thing I wish I could do would be to combine my categories. I want to track my car loan payments, fuel costs, and service expenses in their separate icons, but see them lumped together in the pie graph. (Right now just fuel and service are lumped.) if the category lumping becomes customizable, then I'll upgrade ExpensesOK to a 5/5 stars 😊

Love this, it’s a perfect balance of recording spending and showing in a simple and beautiful display. The great add-on feature that’s included is the notes where one can break down the context and even itemize items like a grocery store trip. Ability to add categories allows for versatile customization. Great job in keeping it simple, balanced and providing what’s needed and keeping out what’s not necessary.

One ask: the ability to add an image of receipts. There are many reasons for this, but can save time in certain situations. Not a deal breaker, just for how I’d use it there value, maybe for others. :)

I’m a dental student so I’m really needing to budget! Unfortunately, I’ve not ever kept good records of my monthly, let alone yearly, spending habits. I got ExpensesOK and have been logging all my purchases and think it will be a great thing to keep using and see where I can cut or increase my spending. ExpensesOK is simple, user friendly, and to the point. I really love it and I had to try out a dozen different apps to find one I truly liked, since they all wanted me to connect my bank account info which I didn’t want to do. I recommend ExpensesOK to help you start saving and spending better!!💕

I love ExpensesOK, beautiful and a very handy tool to track my expenses. It gives you a pie chart showing detailed information based on your categories, and if you want to go back and put a specific category and group them together with others, then it will give a chart based on what you want to see. They have the option to set up a widget for notification center, so if you do have to enter something, all you have to do is pull down on notifications and enter your expense...you can also create as many categories as you want... Highly recommended!

ExpensesOK is really nice. You can set your own categories, group them as you wish, give them pretty symbols which makes finding the right category easy. Reviewing your monthly is super simple, you can choose to show the entire month, year or day and have the charts ready for your groups or subgroups. I would prefer two things. For one, the possibility to assign currency symbols, like $. Secondly, I would like to see all digits of the amount I wrote down. I prefer seeing $2.10 as compared to 2.1 It would be nice to have the option of choosing the format and currency. I chose ExpensesOK over two others I tried.

I love ExpensesOK. One of the few ones I use daily and rely on. It is simple to use, IMHO nicely designed, and offers the flexibility to create new categories and group them, a must for me. It syncs to iCloud and offers export to CSV file so I always have the option to pull the data out and use it somewhere else. Also the option to use a widget to add any expense is very helpful. Makes it so much more convenient quickly adding any expense without having to open ExpensesOK every time. Overall ExpensesOK is well done and it gives me exactly what I need. Great work.

I hate expense reports and tracking expenses. ExpensesOK makes it effortless. Add the widget under notifications and you don't even need to unlock the phone. Just swipe down type in the number and enter the category. My only request for an improvement would be currencies. I travel to 3-4 different countries on a regular basis and only having 1 currency system means I can't really track them. I realize this gets into a new level of complexities for several of he functions (e.g. The chart) with f/x rates constantly changing but would be nice if they figured it out.

This is a wonderful app to use! It allows you to quickly and easily keep track of your expenses, so that you're not left in the dark as to how monstrously big your credit card bills going to be at the end of the month.

It only takes seconds to record a transaction and you can add additional categories to ExpensesOK as desired. And yes, you can see how monstrous your credit card bill is going to be at the end of the month with a single click of a button. ;-) Highly recommended!

I absolutely love ExpensesOK. Took me many deleted apps to find something simple like this one. All the other apps seemed like I need a PHD to understand them plus they need income and a set budget. Well, I don’t care about that. I simply want to know how much I spend and where. ExpensesOK is incredible simple and quick. Love how it is all displayed on a pie chart. I can go back and edit easily. I’m so glad I found it. I’ve been using it for two months now. I mostly wanted to find out how much I spend on groceries and eating out. And the numbers stunned me! Ouch!

I really love ExpensesOK! It's easy to use and gives clear data back to you about your expenses. So helpful to be able to create your own expense categories, so you can get as detailed as you want. But above all, ExpensesOK helps me feel in better control of my spending habits. Seeing the numbers in black and white (or some lovely colors) is just the awareness I needed of where my money is going. And it's become addicting - I look forward to adding in my spendings every night! Highly, highly recommend.

If you are feeling a little disorganized with your finances, ExpensesOK will be your bestfriend. I track every single cent as soon as I swipe my card so that I know at the end of the month exactly where my money went and which category absorbed the most specially if you have to buy gifts, if you went out too much that month or if you bought lunch way too many times. It helps when next month comes, you will know where to slow down. Its like having your personal accountant :)

After trying several expense/budget apps, this is by far the simplest and best designed one. The genius is in having the big numerical keyboard (like a calculator) front and center to make keying in the amount easy. Then a second tap on a category saves the entry. You can also change the date and add a comment but I usually don't bother with those.

If you need to track your expense, this is the easiest app to use. And you can't beat free. Thanks to the creators for ExpensesOK!

I love a lot of parts of this little finance tracker. I had the hardest time keeping track of where money went before my husband found this. Been using for 3 months now, and have found it really lacking. It needs to be able to track month to month. Definitely very frustrating that at the end of every month the money goes into a year lump. Being able to keep track of and compare expenses from Month to Month is key to budgeting so please include that ASAP. Other than that I really like ExpensesOK and hope to be able to keep using it with that new addition soon to come.

ExpensesOK is super helpful for keeping track of my expenses, easy to use and visually appealing.
Suggestions- It would be great if the “Notes” section for each purchase were on the same page as where you enter the price and item, right below, to minimize clicks back and forth.
Also, I’d love to see a simple delete “x” logo to the right of each item purchased, instead of having to click on the item first and then on remove.
Basically, more options right on the front screen, fewer clicks.
