Excellent app

Excellent app. Works very well. The best way to set up ConnexxSmartRemote is to scan the barcode. If you set it up manually you will not get all the functions that you get when you scan it. For those who are concerned about ConnexxSmartRemote not working with your Bluetooth in your car, it's very easy to simply disconnect your phone from the car with the press of a button and then your hearing aid App will work just fine. You will still receive calls on your phone, but they will not come over the speakers in your car. For those having trouble with ConnexxSmartRemote only connecting to one hearing aid for the battery test, you simply need to delete ConnexxSmartRemote and reinstall it again because what's happening is the Bluetooth portion of your phone isn't connecting to one or the other of your hearing aids. I've been using ConnexxSmartRemote to control my hearing aids for the last six months and it works perfectly if you have everything set up correctly.

Connect Smart Remote

The Costco Signature 7 has served me for 2 years. I would like to see the behind the ear piece a little smaller. The piece in the ear was molded for my ear ( very comfortable). The manufacturers need to figure out a way for the hearing aids to be adjusted separately. One is extremely sensitive to loud noises and one is not. When I turn down the volume in your app on my iPhone 8 Plus, the message I receive is turn up volume or the device will not work properly “too low”. I have tried EARGO
(another hearing aid) which is much smaller and fits directly into the ear, but it has a hard body and is uncomfortable in my ear. But, I must say the sound quality is clearer ( not too loud, just more natural sounds). The reason I am sharing my experiences with you is because I loved the customer care I received at Costco and I believe if you make a few adjustments to you Signature 7 series you would be able to flood the market with an award winning hearing aid. Truly I hope my suggestions are practical and feasible.
A devoted customer, Elder Cheryl Tilghman-Robinson

Works well but interface needs improvement

The control ConnexxSmartRemote provides is superb. For me, simply setting the volume and treble/bass balance is enough to make my hearing aids deliver realistic sound without the annoying background hisses, clangs, rustles, and rattles that so many hearing-aid users complain about.

Which raises the question: Why aren't the volume and treble controls on the same screen? They ought to be, always.

Complaint number 2: When battery doors are opened on the hearing aids and then closed again, ConnexxSmartRemote doesn't restore my settings but instead defaults to something much louder. So after re-inserting batteries, I have to turn volume and treble down to minimum, put on the hearing aids, and then reset them. A minor inconvenience.

Finally, I think the "Automatic" program should be renamed "Manual," because it does in fact offer a wide range of user-controlled options.

But four stars, because the thing offers so many options and works so well with the hearing aids.

Decent but

I liked the hearing Kirkland hearing aids that I used ConnexxSmartRemote with from Costco but I traded them in from my trial because they and ConnexxSmartRemote did not offer independent volume controls for each aid and lacked a midrange control. My hearing loss is worse in one ear then the other and it distorts more in the midrange. If your loss is normal loss in both ears then you should be okay with this but I feel that I need these features so paid an additional 800 for aids and app with these features.

Aweful

ConnexxSmartRemote is bad. I cannot store different personalizations. If I take the time to adjust it for business meetings that I attend, ConnexxSmartRemote automatically switches back to auto adjust after 20 min. This makes it hard to conduct meetings and interviews. I cannot stop the meeting and play with the settings every 20 min. If I want to set different programs I have to go to the hearing center and they set the programs based on what they think I need, but I can’t do testing until I leave and try it out in the real world. I have been back to the hearing center 4 times I the past 2 months to get the programs right and they still are not right. This would be taken care of, if I could create my own programs. I don’t understand the logic of ConnexxSmartRemote... It is completely worthless.

Pair problems

One of my aids stopped working and only after deleting and reinstalling ConnexxSmartRemote could I get both aids and ConnexxSmartRemote working. It took me over an hour to figure out by trial and error how to get things working. One clue was that the battery status indicator disappeared from ConnexxSmartRemote . Also I had to restore all the provider programs which took extra time. App is Ok but instructions leave a lot to be desired. Troubleshooting is not complete enough. I am pretty computer savvy, I pity the computer illiterates who probably spend waisting provider time with simple tech problems.

This basic app does exactly what it says it will do

I had been wearing behind the ear hearing aids for several years but I was never able to get used to the loud scratching sound when I put on/took off my reading glasses or sun glasses.
I got these small in the ear canal Reston Adore IX hearing aids at Costco and installed ConnexxSmartRemote with no problems. ConnexxSmartRemote is not as functional as the one with my other hearing aids, but it does exactly what it says it will do. I am very happy.

Some pro, some con

Downloaded a couple of years ago when I first got my hearing aids. I really liked that I could use ConnexxSmartRemote to control my aids without messing with the buttons on the aids. Had to re-download a few months ago after I had to reset my phone. The new version no longer has the battery health feature, which I found useful. Now ConnexxSmartRemote frequently stops working, and I have close it and lock the phone before it works again. I’m hoping an update will address these issues.

LOVE these little devices! I forget that I'm wearing them most of the time! ConnexxSmartRemote is wonderful. ConnexxSmartRemote controls allow me to focus on the areas of sound that are most important, which means I can eliminating distractive noises i.e. Loud music, water fountains, any back or forward noises. It is very accurate in zeroing into the sound I'm trying to grasp. The many controls are so advanced! Technology in hearing devices has soooo surpassed the old devices.

Reston Hearing Aid App

Very handy app to change volume levels or if you are listening to music. The battery level feature needs work though. It always seems to beep twice indicating half power and then I go out and they die two hours later.

Not the quality I explected

I t tried several different hearing aids before settling for the Rexton. Two years later I am sorry I purchased them. They have limited adjustment features (ie background noise suppression, cellphone connectivity, directional adjustment). Also, the sound quality varies. Some days it’s fine, other days it’s like I’m hearing in a cave. Sometimes the sound variance occurs the same day. Bad choice on my part. I’m in the process of evaluating a replacement pair. I won’t make the same mistake twice.

Not worth the $$$$

The only worthwhile feature these hearing aids have is the GPS which allowed me to find one when it was misplaced. Since I have on them they have been plagued with performance issues and they were finally replaced this past week because they were just absolutely going nuts. I just received the replacements today. There is essentially a new replacement and when I got them home I had static continuously in my right ear.

I really like these

The quality of sound and ease of use make these a winner. Things are much clearer. I used the directional option and was able to hear the priest in church. Wonderful! Then when I got home my neighbors were having a yard party complete with a well stocked selection of musical choices. One click and they disappeared poof! Love it.

Basic

It is a very basic HA app. Not bad, not spectacular. Unfortunately it does not update to the HA setting when they are turned on after being turned off. That is an issue with both HAs that are compatible and ConnexxSmartRemote itself.

While in use, the controls are adequate and respond quickly. If you have several programs on the HAs, each can be set with a specific volume and/directional mic. It does the job.

Rexton Kirkland Signature

After using ConnexxSmartRemote for two weeks I'm very happy with the way it interacts with my hearing aids.

A huge improvement on having to carry a separate remote like the last one I had.

I'm sure that improvements will happen as time goes by. But I can't see how much better ConnexxSmartRemote could be made.

Ok but at times aggravating to use

I’ve used this daily for the past year to control my hearing aids. It’s definitely easier to control them with ConnexxSmartRemote then with the small buttons on the hearing aids. But it gets frustrating when you constantly get a Bluetooth connection conflict error, by just being passively connected but not using any other Bluetooth device, as when you just get in your car. The developers can do better...

By

Mostly Frustrating

Usually, when trying to change the volume on my hearing aids, I get an error message that my smartphone volume is too low and that it must be increased for ConnexxSmartRemote to work. This makes no sense, since it isn’t compatible with streaming.

The audio transfer from handset to hearing aids rarely functions with my iPhone. I have better success using it when placing a call. It will not transfer after receiving a call.

Sync with Hearing Aids

Functions fairly well the preprogrammed settings. But would be a five star candidate if it synced with the hearing aids
In other words the program you set on ConnexxSmartRemote also changes the program on the hearing aids. According to my audio technician it does not. And he seems to be correct as far as I can tell.

App on phone conflicts with car Bluetooth

When in my car, ConnexxSmartRemote is inoperable because my phone is connected to car’s Bluetooth.
Second, it would be nice to be able to name my 4 settings. I don’t use them often but , for example, when I want to muffle background noise in a restaurant, I can’t remember if that is setting 1, 2, 3, or 4, so I have to cycle through all 4.

Very good, but...

ConnexxSmartRemote works well for most things, but, as other reviewers have reported, every time you take your hearing aids out, ConnexxSmartRemote resets to a default, low gain level. You need to have a way to save the optimal settings for each individual user so that you don't have to reset it every time you put the hearing aids back in.

Dad wears his hearing aids so it’s a win!

It took years to convince my dad to get hearing aids, but my husband and I finally did it. We went to a doctor who was more concerned about the price range my dad was willing to spend so we left. We then went to Costco and for a perfect match, ear doctor and pair of hearing aids. What a difference.

ConnexxSmartRemote is great! I have it on my phone, since my dad still won’t get a smart phone, and when he comes over I adjust it as needed. It is very easy to navigate and to adjust how my dad hears. The only thing that frustrates me is there is no “save” feature when I’m done adjusting his hearing aids. It seems every time he comes over I have to readjust them. Otherwise he really seems to like wearing his hearing aids. Thank goodness!

Very Good

I am NOT a software engineer and find ConnexxSmartRemote easy to use to adjust volume, treble/bass, and to control for 6 different situations that seem to make a difference (TV, traffic, party etc.) and the directional microphones. It has also added battery level since I last downloaded it. Using ConnexxSmartRemote is much easier and more detailed than using the buttons. The only thing it does not do is adjust each ear separately, but that is what the hearing specialist who adjusts for each ear’s hearing profile is for. Costco is a pleasure to work with. Not sure what the other guy’s problem is.
