GPX Atlas Reviews
Published by Boterham on 2025-11-11🏷️ About: Atlas is a simple but powerful GPX reader. Create your own maps Plan your travels, create a restaurant wish list or simply log all cities you've ever visited.
We Investigate the app owner's website (Jancornelissen.be), verify their legitimacy, and uncover hidden scams and complaints.
GPXAtlas does what It says, but not very well. Search function is pretty unreliable, returning limited results with no context making it impossible to know if you are picking the right way option. No location categories or pin options... Don't waste your money unless you need the cloud support.
I needed a way to mark locations on a map and share across iDevices and back up options (to Dropbox in this case). This is working well for my needs. Appreciate search function stays in the approx map display area so adding pins goes fast usually. A few improvements would be useful to me: 1) more pin colors {yep, marking many places}; 2) move "create map" to bottom, at least not the top/1st map :-); 3) ability to "connect" pins for my route b/w them {a way manually is fine}; 4) crashing sometimes during continuous editting/adding pins & switching b/w maps.
Thank you. This is one of those apps that is a pleasure to use.
All your maps are saved in iCloud Drive (if enabled) and are available on all your other iCloud Drive enabled devices.
If iCloud Drive is not enabled, maps are stored locally and available via iTunes.
Since all maps are saved as a GPX-file, it's easy to open your maps on other devices, like a handheld GPS.
Enter a mapcode in the search field to go to its exact location or get the mapcode from a location by adding a pin.
Atlas is optimised for iPhone X, iPad Pro, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver and supports keyboard shortcuts.
