A friend shared this on Facebook a long time ago and I just thought there had to be a catch. Clio had no ads and loaded quickly and it offers as much information a guidebook. I just wish it was available beyond the US

This is a solid app. The walking tours are fun and I like the VR images and the text-to-speech option so you can listen as you walk-it's like taking a walking tour but on your own time with the option of picking the places you want to see.

I love Clio! It is super easy to use and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in culture or history. I use this often when I am traveling and looking for something to explore! It’s led me to small museums, historic sites, and other important locations.

This is a wonderful app for touring history physically or virtually which is very useful now a days.

Great educational app, NO Ads or in app purchases! All about education. Every history teacher from middle school to college should get their classes involved in adding content for sites and tours.

With the this app app you see your city and surroundings like never before. Best used anywhere you are. I’ve not been in an area that hasn’t had local entries with accurate and updated information. The update is great improves functionality

this app is extremely user-friendly and comes without the excessive commercialization of other travel/exploration apps. If you are curious about your hometown or need some inspiration on your next trip, I would advise you to try out this app.

This is a fantastic tool to use when We travel with our kids. Because we homeschool its great to have all the history information at our fingertips because we always try to incorporate their education into our everyday lives.

I’ve started to discover history all around me that I couldn’t believe was there. When I’m visiting a new place for the first time, this is the kind of stuff I’m looking for—it’s just so nice to have it all in a one-stop shop (figuratively, since this app is free and non-profit).

Since discovering this app, I’ve become a regular contributor. The platform keeps getting better as more and more knowledgeable folks contribute. The Tour creation feature is especially amazing. Sure, the UI could be snazzier, but it’s absolutely the best platform out there for discovering history everywhere you go. Keep it up, this app!

This is the ideal app for history lovers. This is a great app if you are new to a town you just moved to, or even if you are passing through on vacation. You can spot the blimps on your map and follow down the rabbit hole of hidden histories that you may have heard of in passing or never realized at all.

I was introduced to this app through a class, and wow... My family has been able to use it on car trips and as we go about our daily lives. The interface is amazing and you can really learn so much from the entries. I’ve recommended it to so many people. Excellent history app.

Clio is very fun and educational-our family used this app as on our last trip and it helped us to think about potential places to visit this summer. I like the way it offers background information -- much better than the other travel sites and apps I've tried in the past

We enjoyed using Clio on our holiday drive. We discovered many interesting historical markers and stopped at a museum after the kids “played” with this app and asked if we would stop at the museum they discovered-amazing how they thought learning history was their idea. Highly recommendable app for education and travel.

I was sad when Detour announced that they were not going to keep making walking tours so I was glad to discover this as a replacement. I like the way this app includes individual historic sites and museums as well as walking tours, that is useful for times when you only have the chance to see one or two places.

I heard about Clio from a friend that uses this when she travels for work and wants to learn about the area. I gave it a try on a recent trip to Philadelphia and absolutely LOVED all of the interactive maps and history I learned about this wonderful city! I will definitely be using this again in the future when traveling to new places!!

I read an article about this app on Facebook and was impressed with their website. Searching my area brought up locations I've never been - even though they are less than 30 miles away. Now that I know more about the history, I want to visit these places in person. (Feels like that was the objective - way to go this app!) Excited to have Clio.

Or see if you can follow along on a walking tour. this app has really changed the way I see old buildings I walk past. Now I can walk by and see the residents that have lived their, the conversations that were only heard within those four walls, the celebrations and triumphs of those that came before us. Truly an incredible resource!

Our teenager son actually enjoyed using this. He read all the information about historical markers we passed and it was his idea to visit some of the places he found. Please keep adding sites !
