Why can’t government of India provide a simple, user friendly app free of ads? Is the government so poor that they revenue out of these pesky ads? How money are you really making out of these ads? Or is it feeding some minister’s son’s or relative’s business?
User Experience is bad. E.g. it’s tough to figure out how to book a ticket. One eventually one finds out how, when one clicks on “book” it take you to Apple App Store link for a third party app or a game app. Really? Govt. of India needs to collect this click ad revenue and can’t provide simple, user friendly booking experience? I’m deleting IndianRailwayTrainEnquiry.

I downloaded IndianRailwayTrainEnquiry and tried to check train status.
1) Adds keep popping up and never lets you use it. Is this an official app of IRCTC? If I’m a paying customer then why do you allow advertising and commercials?
2) as an NRI with a foreign passport it is very hard to register and book tickets. Rather I had to ask my relatives to book it for me.

I was booking a train ticket , money was charged from my account but ticket is not booked, app does not show any bookings. There is no way to contact IndianRailwayTrainEnquiry support.
I tried feedback to report issue but no response.
Please use RailYatri and save your time and money

IndianRailwayTrainEnquiry needs improvement.
Displays errors for phone number already in use , then doesn’t display captcha & gives error missing captcha from laptop browser safari.

Phone application keeps keeps hanging when registering a new account & displays sending Otp but doesn’t send.

I would like to give 0 star, but there is no option for it. This is very poorly built app. It never worked for me. Not on mobile data and not over wifi with high speed. Not sure what’s wrong with my app version. I am using ios 15.6.1 on iPhone 12 pro Max.

I was trying to book railway tickets for Jan 2020 to Mumbai from Ahmedabad (21st Nov2019). The site displayed no train for available reservation. The same time I asked an agent to book for a specific train and he could get it in minutes.
I can’t understand how this could be possible unless some corrupt officers jamming the system for common men.

Disappointed with IndianRailwayTrainEnquiry . PNR status mostly say - Oops something went wrong, please try again later, even after the status has changed actually. Cannot rely on this, overall not worth downloading and installing eating up space.

this is very unfortunate that this site is full of ad. you will never find any official site with so many annoying ads. please don’t run ads, this is a money making site why do you need ad?

we have top class developers from India every where in the world looks like this site may have been designed and developed by people who have zero experience in web design.

Worst app ever, every single time when I try to cancel the ticket it’s giving me an error unable to process. Tried reaching to customer care who are not available on weekend, my train is on weekend and our plans changed on Friday unable to cancel 5tickets total of 4.5k. Everything is working fine except the cancel ticket button, it happened couple of months back as well it looks like they never fixed it on purpose.

PNR retrieval keeps failing. And then frequent ads keep popping up.
Lastly giving feedback requires using email (sharing personal email which lot of many won’t prefer just to submit feedback - feedback should be anonymous) instead of just taking in app feedback form.

I am unable to complete my profile. When I login and select update profile, nothing happens on the webpage. When I called the customer service I’m told just wait and try again after sometime.

I am an OCI living in US. I wish IndianRailwayTrainEnquiry would allow any phone number to be used for authentication purposes and not just Indian mobile. I plan to travel with kids and have to ask an agent to make the reservation, which seems primitive and outdated.

I was thoroughly disappointed about the quality of the cabin and the toilets were disgusting and dirty. Although there was an attendant on board, I hardly saw him doing anything. I have travelled all over the world in some of the luxurious trains ,even in poorer countries and the trains were clean and full of amenities and first class on board services.

In some trains bath rooms are very thirty. Can you take action on this problem. Middle class people are not having voice. Kindly address this problem immediately.

Informative but not easy to find what we want.
Maybe more user friendly for older people.

All regular trains cancelled and special trains running by taking away CONCESSIONS to various sections of people. Passenger trains cancelled and putting public to inconvenience. All wine shops , Cinema halls, busses opened. Why trains cancelled? Any logic in this step. It is only to privatisation by showing losses to Railways.

Very convenient and provides all info on the train even when traveling on the train . Great app very reassuring to the passengers

I like Indian Railway and do not understand why Seniors and Women are given 40 or 50% concessions even though many of them could be super rich and can afford the Fare, especially when Railway has to subsidize the Fare. Best regards
