4.5 out of 5
Just look for a review titled "useless"

... The first review I saw with a score of one said almost exactly what I have to say. It could be that I have an iPhone 5, and the most recent iOS I can run is 10.3.3. Perhaps in later iOS versions BatteryTesting useful information. For me, it just showed me five minutes worth of advertisements and then gave me a number. I gather from looking at other peoples scores that this number can range between one and 1000. I've now run the test several times on the same battery and gotten wildly different numbers. I found a chart that said that my score is "bad." Finally I found a page that showed me available milliamp hours and percent usage, but it turned out that that was a number I could have obtained by multiplying the percent my iPhone shows in the upper right corner and the maximum possible milliamp hours of this battery if it were in perfect shape. I get no estimated run times, no explanation of what test was run, no explanation of the score and what it means… You get the idea. Useless. At least with iOS 10.

Misleading

I read a review with 5 star that touted the program for its ability to diagnose battery life. BatteryTesting does not do that. What I want to know is whether my battery needs to be replaced, not cryptic information about the current charge, and certainly not random data about the overall iPad system. I got tired of the ads so I took a leap of faith and just paid the $1.99. I should not have. BatteryTesting does not give the answer to the very question that prompts anyone to download it in the first place. iMazing does a far better job ( but it takes up tons of space on my laptop, so I had to delete it).

One large ad program

When running the test an alert will pop up notifying you it will run for up to 15 mins. For a total of 22 mins BatteryTesting ran 17 ads one after the other. It seems BatteryTesting is mainly use to run ads and not give you any useful info on your battery except a number that does not break down any detail. It compares you to other other users with other numbers but that also does not indicate any detail of your battery health or usage.

Useless

Utterly useless. I have been noticing my battery life getting increasingly shorter, so I decided I would try to test its relative life compared to new (or similar). BatteryTesting spends several minutes doing something or other and then returns a score. Just some number that is not relative to anything I can observe. Not 500 out of 1000 cycles. Not 2500 mah vs 3500 mah new. No, nothing like that. First test resulted in a score in the mid-500s. A few weeks later it tested with a near perfect mid-900s score. So apparently my battery is getting dramatically better the more I wear it out.

Useless results

I have a 5 year old iPad that gets really hot when charging, and very slow to charge. Then only takes between 1 and 2 hours and it’s dead. Tested it and it scored 986 almost perfect score. So I decided to install BatteryTesting on my 2 week old iPhone 15 pro max it scored 993. I can believe it on the new phone but the old iPad there is just no way. I installed this because I’m having issues and apple don’t show battery health on iPads for some reason. So this did not help at all.

Inaccurate, no description

BatteryTesting feels very inaccurate. While I understand that free apps have ads, it doesn’t increase my trust in BatteryTesting and makes me want to try the paid version even less. Results jump wildly and don’t make any sense. Something like this needs to be reproducible and have test conditions thoroughly fixed.

For example, my brand new iPhone 14 pro gets anywhere between 450 and 600 points with an estimated video play back of 5-6 hours. This is nonsense.

What’s even worse, there is ZERO description and instructions on what BatteryTesting actually does, what to take care of or how to operate it properly.

For example, is it running high load? Which? Where should the brightness be? It automatically switches to full brightness but after some time switches back. Should radio/WiFi be on or off?

And on top, most of the time the test fails in the middle.

Great concept but really bad implementation.

Awesome tool to waste time

I have a several year old 5S, that the battery will only last about two hours. Erase the phone new operating system load, ran test and the tool reported 640. I went and had the battery replaced and the score went to 550, so I told them their battery was bad and had them replace it again and the score went to 500. The phone stays charged all day now New battery, although BatteryTesting reports that there is no battery life.
BatteryTesting is a waste of time and effort, and there is no place to select feedback to connect with the developers, so I’m done wasting time with this and will move on to a different tool.

Wildly inaccurate

My battery drains within hours, so I wanted to test it. I tried BatteryTesting. The “tests” BatteryTesting ran were 15-20 seconds long when it is supposed to take 5-7 minutes. Something about that seems fishy. Then it gives my battery a score in the 700s and tells me I have a battery that will last for 9 hours of web surfing time. This is wildly inaccurate since my battery went down 3% just using BatteryTesting. Side note: I had no other apps running at the time of the test and have previously taken many steps to reduce my battery drainage. So the 3% drainage had to be mostly due to this testing app.
Clearly my battery is worn out and there is no way I have 9 hours of web surfing time. BatteryTesting is useless.

Horrible, inaccurate app

BatteryTesting is a scam, I’ve had my iPad for over 3 years now and use it on a daily basis. I had noticed that my battery life had dropped significantly and now only runs about 3 hours of browsing (Approximately). However when I went to test with BatteryTesting, not only were there countless ads you had to click away for the test to actually run, the numbers were wildly inaccurate, stating I could run my iPad for 9 hrs of constant use. I don’t even think I could run it with 9 hours of constant use when it was brand new. BatteryTesting is a scam and a cash grab and only serves as misinformation. Do not recommend.

A waste of time

The UX is horrendous. A battery test takes a very long time (10+ minutes), and that is time during which they will run many ads, and if you switch to another app the process will start again.

All in all, it’s hard to recommend something like this to anyone. It’s also sad to see that apple allows such an app to be listed in their app store.

It’s ok run an ad supported app, but BatteryTesting is just an insult to any decent advertising experience.

Tries hard, but...

You'd think the developer could find at least one colleague who can speak English. "Estimate time for specify function" is not a good look.

When I see that I have available 7 hours of "web broswing" (sic), I learn that the developer's attention to detail is, let's say, less than encouraging. I certainly wouldn't buy the "Pro" version as it stands.

This seems to be an attempt at "crowdsourcing" test results for the sake of comparison, but it's hard to decipher the results. What does "742" mean? Nice eye candy on the charts, though.

Not that great.

BatteryTesting is built fine. The issue I had was my battery tested at a 695 and stated it was normal. I repeated the test a few time with similar results. Now I knew I was having battery problems because it would only hold a charge for about 2 hours when it’s rated for 6-8 hours. It would also just shut off with 20% and requiring that I plug it in. I called Apple to see if something could be done and the support guys was like “let’s run a test”. So I gave him access and did a few things for diagnostic and after just 60 seconds he said my battery has failed only holding a max charge of 60%. And was faulty as well. Long story short Apple replaced my battery for $99. So don’t trust BatteryTesting. I’m not even sure how it graded the battery.

It does half the job, and soooo many ads

I was looking for an app that would burn down by battery on command, as I prepare to replace my iPhone's battery - it should nominally be discharged below 30% before removing it. I don't really play games and thus don't know a good app that chugs through battery otherwise. Was hoping this one would do it.

I ran the test on my 77%-rated battery, and was immediately inundated with a constant flow of ads. Hey, I get it. They make money, and it's a clever thing to do for an app that isn't really interactive. But ... The full screen video ads, the constant flow every few seconds. C'mon.

At the end I was just searching around the UI for a "burn in" option to just make it run continuously, or maybe til a certain percentage. Nope. Just an option to rerun the test. Bah.

And it rated my battery as average/good, which is like... (-_-メ) c'mon.

Why is my score 358?

I have an iPhone 11 pro max. Battery health is 99%. Had it for almost a year. I ran the test a couple times both were in the 300s. I dont get it, am i supposed to do something before testing my battery shouldnt be bad? Besides that, BatteryTesting also provides your device statistics which is pretty cool. Like the cpu, battery detail, etc. besides the test showing my battery score is bad, the phone detail part seem pretty accurate.

Not sure what it’s measuring

Installed when this iPhone SE was new and used occasionally as the unit ages. My scores continue to be in the mid-900’s even though my battery charge now only lasts a few hours of intensive use, where it used to last more than 4-5 hours. When new I could recharge a few time a week; now it’s a few times per day. So, why is the testing score still so high?

Great app but too many ads

Good system and battery analysis. Stats are not so reliable since you do not know how many people actually use BatteryTesting to measure their battery health. Ads are too many and frustrating.

Pretty cool app

This is a cool app to test the power that your cell phone battery is putting out. I just replaced my battery and wanted to check to see if it was in fact a brand new and powerful battery and BatteryTesting give me a good high score, in the low 900’s so I'm a happy camper. Thanks to the developers of BatteryTesting. Good job. There are a quite of few adds within BatteryTesting, which isn’t bad because you have to wait a couple of minutes for BatteryTesting to fully scan your battery and you have something to look at something and waste some time during that period, I mean they need to make their bread some how.!!!!!!!! Its better then having to pay for an app. Add it up all you want...

Great app

This battery testing app works great for me I’ve tried it on my iphone,iPad and a few of my friends devices. It’s always great to be able to test your battery condition before checking other reasons why your phone or tablet may be working slowly

To tell the truth

Believe me I wasn’t sure that I wanted thisBattery app after using The doctor WELLYes this surpassed the doctor in a better way by literally showing a graft
and a score so a lot more in depth then
I ever expected . They put a lot of work
Into BatteryTesting and I’m definitely happy I
