Recorder Plus : Voice Recorder Reviews

I purchase RecorderPlus a long time ago and until today was happy with it. I would discretely turn it on when needed to memorialize specific events or conversations. I paid money for unlimited recordings and a couple of other features. Today, when I pressed to discretely record, a video ad started blasting out a song! What!?! My entire phone was is silent mode! I didn’t want to disturb anyone nor did I want to “announce” the fact that I had started a recoding. I did both. Why does an app that is designed to silently record things plays a video ad!?! A visual only ad would have been bad enough, since I already paid for numerous features on RecorderPlus and ads were not a part of it when I paid, but a high volume video ad?!? What the heck are these programmers thinking?!? It totally disrupted the situation I was trying to record and I was not able to record the event. I will now be spending who knows how much time downloading all my saved recordings so that I can delete RecorderPlus. The alternative is to pay even more money to delete the video ads, but I now have no confidence they won’t pull the same trick somewhere down the road.

To exit the ‘Record’ app indeed proved to daunting at best. In exasperation I placed my iPhone aside to speak to someone about a tree on my property which was leaning on my neighbor’s second floor and upstairs porch. Thanks to Hurricane Florence the tree had to be removed. Understandably the phone was left aside for three or more hours as papers were signed and the tree cutters removed the tree. When I returned to my phone, not only was the battery at 12%, but also the ‘Record’ app was still “fetching” information from ‘Record'! Really? Perhaps the information fetched was not only from Record, it could have been from me! I actually like to participate in studies, however it is generally accepted that one should be notified when one is being studied. Had the battery indicated little usage, as it always does when the phone isn’t in use, I wouldn’t have reason to question why RecorderPlus continued it’s installation when it had been denied. Thank you.

RecorderPlus description says “record seconds or hours” but makes NO mention of the fact that you have to pay to record over 2 minutes. It doesn’t tell you when you start recording that you’ll be stopped at 2 minutes. It also tells you that you can record in the background. So I recorded an important meeting today with RecorderPlus. After the 90 minute meeting I find out that RecorderPlus stopped at 2 minutes. It gave me NO notification. I had my notes app opened because that had my talking points. I lost over 80 minutes of that meeting because of this stupid app. I’ll be filing a complaint with the Apple team about RecorderPlus as well. Highly deceiving app. Just tell people up front that you want $2, or charge like $5 for your app. This would have been a great app if the developers weren’t idiots about the way they implemented the pay features.

I have used RecorderPlus before to record classes so that I could review them later, and it is works decently well. However today, I recorded a very important conversation between myself and my aunt, who will probably not be around very much longer, when I went to save the conversation RecorderPlus blanked out and disappeared and when I went back into it the conversation was completely gone. It had not been saved it had not been paused, it was just gone. I am devastated. Absolutely devastated. I have no way to get that back. She’s not always lucid and able to tell stories and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get that again.

Over 6 interviews now have been randomly deleted and not by me through your app. I’m a journalist and use this for work. RecorderPlus has caused me a lot of stress because I record it, know I record it and when I go back and listen it’s A: gone B: recording the conversation after I hit stop and know I hit stopped. Time to update your system or something. I’ve used RecorderPlus for going on 4 years now and this is the first issue I’ve had but I cant tolerate it because my job depends on being able to get quality recordings. Download at your own risk.

I have relied on RecorderPlus for about three years to record and save melodies to files. A few months ago, an entire folder was mysteriously deleted. More recently, many folders and single recordings ended up in another folder.

I contacted Support and the sent me to videos explaining how to restore everything.

Just a great little app, especially for recording melodies that just pop into your head!

Please update the audio controls. 0.5x; 1x and 2x with nothing in between is not good enough. I’d like to be able to go 0.7x or 0.8x - depending on the speed of the audio I’m dealing with and/or the speed of the speaker of the audio that I’m dealing with. I do a lot of transcribing and it’s hard to find audio controls with more flexibility.

Other than that, it’s great. Nice look, nice layout, all of that.

Furious at RecorderPlus for losing my data. It saved 3 sessions fine but the 4th it showed an ad when I hit stop... with NO close "X". I clicked everywhere on screen for 10min trying to get to my file. Eventually found it via files browser and it was blank. Then I clicked to open one of the other 3 files and it launched RecorderPlus and immediately permenantly deleted my 3 other recordings. They were not shown in iCloud recently deleted files.

Seeing as it ruined my session I give RecorderPlus zero stars. Buyer beware until bugs are fixed.

Others have commented on baiting to d/l then learning the nasty way rhis a paid app if you really want it to work.
Also buggy. Trying to send recording by email no send button found, nor way to close/delete rhe mail to get back to the recorder. U must force quit & relaunch for that.
Shame because this developers iphone scanner app is excellent. And the price is there up front.

I may still buy this if the email share bug is fixed. For what I want for now that would be $6 for unrestricted recording and quality mp3, not bad. If it does work as well as scanner pro.

It makes it seem that every action you do has to be payed for. I mean I don’t mind having to pay for it but instead of separate payments why not just make a bundle deal. Or if not, give a description notification prior to my purchase. I wouldn’t want to buy something that I wouldn’t know what it could be. Plus if you could add a way for us to edit our recordings such as cutting out pieces within the recording would make RecorderPlus 20x more useful with my projects.

It seems to record the conversation well but it has way of operations little confusing but overall Voice recorder is very stable. It would be more helpful if app use instructions are given.

I was recording chapter of study book to listen to in addition to reading. The quality of the recording is best with audio play controls by that you can speed up playing speed and adjust it to slower if you have missed anything

RecorderPlus has many features. Controls are easy to understand and work.
Quality of recording is perfect, no background noise, not a single missing.
Just start record and sit and relax then he recording will be on top of all things.

I paid for all the extras! All of a sudden I keep getting ADS when I first open RecorderPlus ! I restore all purchases every time and it shows all extras “purchased” yet every tine I first open RecorderPlus there is a full page AD! What did I pay for?

I originally bought RecorderPlus over a year ago. You could record, listen, send, etc. and all you had to pay was the minutes you use. Now you have to pay for that functionality to send, listen over 60 seconds, etc....even though I already purchased minutes. Those functions costs more. Would have been one thing if I bought it that way but they changed AFTER I bought it. Going to contest charges. Just get one way cheaper for flat rate that gives you everything. Typical app crooks.

RecorderPlus is great I enjoy using it and of all the recording apps I’ve tried which have need many this one was the only one that was easy and enjoyable to use. It’s really simple and records really well.i like RecorderPlus and hope you do to.

This voice recorder works awesome. I had another voice recording app earlier that was not consistent. I would record a message and then go to listen to it and it would be all garbled. I have never had a problem with RecorderPlus. Great app!

I’m using RecorderPlus to record my notes for school so i can listen to them while working or driving. I works perfectly for this. I can edit easily and its easy to use and understand.

Very simple to use. I’ve tried a few voice recorders and this is by far the best if you are looking for a straight forward, no nonsense, easy to use recording app. Open..... record, it’s that simple.

It works while we are on other screen! It records pretty high quality too! This is a solid recording app best used to leave voice memos or a conversations. The ads are not intrusive. This is an excellent voice recorder app!

Enjoying RecorderPlus . Seams to do mostly what I want. Please either make an option to keep the phone awake while recording or set this permanently!! This interrupts my recordings!

I was really excited about RecorderPlus. Downloaded it on Friday and used it a few hours later. It appeared to be recording, but the next day when I checked the recording it did not sound anything like what I was playing. I downloaded RecorderPlus bc it had 4 stars, but apparently this is accumulation of all the 1-2 star ratings and deceiving. I would like to return RecorderPlus and have a refund. Can this be done? After all the add-ons I believe that it cost $10-15 to download. Which is a decent amount to throw away for something that doesn’t work.

There needs to be people out there who actually take the time to test these apps IRL on multiple devices and verify they work before sending them to the marketplace.

If you want customers to pay for unlimited recording, fine. But tell us up front!
I started recording during one of my class lectures and of course didn’t notice until I went to stop it, that it had ONLY RECORDED TWO MINUTES.
Really? Just pop up a warning up front. Something like “Want to record unlimited voice memos? Pay to unlock this premium feature!”

Because otherwise, you’ll have a lot of people who have only recorded 2:00 using your app.

Just installed the update as per advice from the developer, but I am still hit with a popup each time RecorderPlus starts. Annoying!!!

RecorderPlus does a good job as a recorder and overall I am happy with its performance. However, even after purchasing several of the offered upgrade options I am still presented with an annoying popup each time RecorderPlus starts asking to purchase the $6.99 upgrade. I don’t need the two options I did not buy and having to be hit over the head each time RecorderPlus starts is unacceptable. The popup is also disingenuous because it lists options that I already have. That is underhanded and misleading.

I reached out to the developer before posting this review, but received no response. Crickets...

This is the best recording application out there. It plays back all your recording.
Also it adjusts speed with player.
Worth after spending 6$.

I downloaded RecorderPlus expecting good audio quality. While the audio was amazing it wont play my most important recording and keeps prompting me to pay to gain access. Had I known this in advance I wouldn’t have downloaded RecorderPlus or i would have paid in advance to ensure full access to my recordings. RecorderPlus shouldn't be offered for free when a recording longer than 5 mins needs to be paid for.

I cannot access RecorderPlus after updating it.
It doesn't recognize my password anymore.
This is the first time such thing happens with me .

Wonderful recording app, so much so, that I came back to rate it. I use RecorderPlus to record myself playing piano. I listen to the recordings in order to find ways to improve.

It’s annoying to use an app and constantly be interrupted by advertisements. So annoying, that you either stop using RecorderPlus or pay to make the ads go away.

It’s infuriating to pay for an app and continue to see useless ads for things I would NEVER buy, or at least not buy through an on line app.

I’m sorry I paid to upgrade this otherwise pretty good app.
