Let’s be real here. Covid is the worst. Especially for those like me who’s illnesses got in the way of going outside. When I stumbled upon EarthCam I was lonely, isolated for 7 months, suffering from excruciating medical pain and living alone. I gladly paid the few dollars to gain access to all of the features. And I was NOT disappointed.

While on bed rest I would travel to a pub in Ireland, singing along to all the songs the bar patrons sang. I then attended a wedding in Vegas ordained by Elvis, pink Cadillac and all. And lastly I watched the sunset in Honduras, overlooking a beautiful bay. All this while in my bed.

If you’re like me and have a hard time going out, and are in serious need of a social fix, this is Webcams for you. Thanks EarthCam, I am dreaming of the day I can pull up Webcams at that Dublin bar and see myself! One day I will!

I downloaded Webcams to see all the pretty views around the world live (since we can’t go anywhere due to Covid). For the most part it delivers. Some cameras even have sound. I love listening to Niagara Falls. With that said, there are a couple of drawbacks:

1. Not all cameras work, and some that are “on” are completely black and have no view
2. Some cameras have you looking at a still image and not a live view.
3. I downloaded Webcams on both of my devices (iPhone and iPad). I paid for the premium version on my iPad, hoping it would automatically work for my iPhone as well. It does not. I would have to pay an additional $4.99 to add it to my iPhone. Not a huge deal, but I’m still debating. It is a one-time fee and NOT a subscription, which is great!!

UPDATE: when I went to purchase the cameras for my iPhone, the store already notified me that I had made the purchase, so I automatically got the cameras without having to pay another $4.99

Definitely worth it to download Webcams, especially if you feel alone. Somebody is always awake to watch from afar.

Our young daughter and I were looking at this app from around the world on my laptop yesterday, and I decided to download Webcams so we could view them on my phone. When I did I noticed that I had previously downloaded Webcams and then deleted it from my phone in the past, which I’d forgotten. Now that I’ve downloaded it again, I realize why I deleted it. The $4.99 in app purchase price to view all cameras would seem reasonable if there were indeed many live cameras to view. However, when looking at their map it appears there is only one in London, for example, which is completely ridiculous given the number of potential cameras to view there. The handful (175+) of cameras available even with the in app purchase makes the world seem very small place, and that’s not what I had hoped to share with our daughter. Sadly, I’m deleting Webcams again as there is no point in having it taking up space on my phone.

I first bought Webcams to view crazy weather before it arrives here. I’m a paid customer... so when I found out the created an appletv app, I assumed my previous purchase would include access to the new Apple TV app. It does not. I ended up paying for the Apple TV app separately, assuming The Tv app would work similarly to & in conjunction with my already paid-for iPhone app. It does neither. The Apple TV app won’t let you search for cameras, it has a predetermined list that you can watch “schedule free” with payment. if the weather I’m curious to see coming isn’t in one of those predetermined locations, I’m not going to find it. Next, I hoped that since both the iPhone & TV apps are both paid for, I thought surely there must be a way to use the more navigable iPhone app to stream a specific camera onto the tv. I was wrong on that front too. This was a total waste of money, twice.

One wish, when I click on one of my favorite saved cams the navigation link in the upper left turns to the word network.
When clicked it beings me back to the main network main screen instead of the favorites screen I was previously on.
Can it go the favorites screen again?
Oh ok another one..
Also it would be fantastic if the left or right swipe would allow you to go through the cams list that being populated on the menu screens. Instead of bouncing back to the main menu then back to the next cam then back the menu...

EarthCam technology is opening doors for people who would love to see the world and travel-but may have limited opportunity to do so. I finally had my first experience traveling to Europe last month. To be able to now scope out my top locations for future trips, I get a real-time glimpse into the atmosphere and determine my next trip. Webcams absolutely surprised me with how many cameras are available to view at any moment. Some are located in places I have never even heard of. I now have a sense of the unique landscapes in countries and places that I may not have otherwise ever known existed.

I’ve loved EarthCam since I was young which is why it pains me to write this review.
I downloaded the Earchcam App on my Apple TV to use as a window of sorts, I wasn't particularly a fan of the interface as finding preferred cams was difficult since it's in a type of scheduled format. And after leaving a cam on the TV for a while it would either change to a different cam (as per schedule) or archive footage.
After browsing for a while I finally decided this is annoying and decided to purchase the "schedule free" option.
The cam selector is still in the ridiculous schedule design but whatever, I'll find my preferred cams but when you select a cam it still gives a splash screen saying this "cam is scheduled to play at" xyz with the options to Preview or Watch Now. After choosing Watch Now, in the bottom right a small text will read "You're now watching schedule-free!"
But STILL, after 10 minutes or so it will change to archive footage!
Are you kidding me? What did I pay for? You best believe I got a refund.
And don’t even get me started on this iOS App Version, it’s beyond useless with little to no access to anything.

Greatest app ever.
I keep this on when I'm not home for my pets. I keep this on the tv when I wish it was warmer out. I keep this on when I wish I was somewhere else. But I sure wish I could pick which this app I can see on the Apple TV, like on the computer. There are a couple on the Apple TV app that don't work most of the time, and there are many, many that are repeatedly played all day. Would be nice to have more choices. Overall, though, it's the most used app on my tv. Thanks

Just took a trip around the world. There’s a lot of world out there. Love the Bali cam with the elephants. Love the Key West live cam with music. Especially love all with sound. It’s the missing ingredient to make it a whole experience. Encourage folks to broadcast live with sound. Lots of city cams and nearly all began looking alike. We like our tall buildings for sure. The NYC cam showing the two footprints of the towers was heart wrenching but glad to see folks are caring for all the lives lost on 9/11. Love animals in cams if they’re not just walking around listlessly penned up. Love beach scenes and sunshine. Keep ‘em coming. Great job.

What is going on with these cams? I view via Apple TV and the application is garbage. Have some standards. 2/3 of the thumbnails work (ok) there is no way to look up the cam or favorite cams and cams that we watch regularly that are popular and “trending” get taken away?? It appears the “Apple tv” platform has been abandoned by you and I may look into a refund.

Update: Dev requested I look for help with “my” issue. Someone at EarthCam needs to checkout the Apple TV Application. It’s absolutely terrible and completely ignored by its developers. We have to stranother device and stream it to our Apple TV. Also, search option maybe? And have like cams available as iOS at least?

I normally don’t rate apps but made an exception. :) Webcams is the best. It’s live not still pictures. It’s great to see what’s happening around the United States and a few other countries. I wish you could zoom in on a few of them. I also miss the Hollywood stars cam but overall there is so much to see! I bookmark my favorites. I like that you can take pictures of images you see too. Would be cool if you could save some of the video footage. Webcams is well worth the 4.99. This is great entertainment and very relaxing.

I really enjoy "traveling" via the cams and watch them quite often. I purchased the unlimited access for both my iPad and my Apple TV. However Webcams for the Apple TV is less than impressive and no longer works at all. What's really disappointing though is the customer service, I contacted them via email and didn't hear back for several days so I called them. They said they don't know who I could talk to but they looked for my email and confirmed that they received it. Rather than let me talk to someone they said they will pass my email along. So I guess we will wait and see if it ever gets to the right person that can respond.....

Enjoy viewing the different cameras especially Dublin, Ireland where our grand kids have a Church, and NYC. Disappointed that the area of Brooklyn bridge camera isn't always live. We watched them construct that building that appears on the live screen. It's interesting to see the river traffic and other activities.

Just a side note Wichita Kansas (the city) has just installed a series of cameras in what is called old town. (Entertainment district) It would be nice if you could include some of them on your site.

Update:
After about an hour of trying to load this app and rebooting Webcams it suddenly came alive! and this app started loading. Now it works as advertised!

Upgraded iPad and app says data feed not turned on. It is and all other apps work OK. Tried to delete and reload and only get version. 1.5.6 instead of 1.6.4! Sent email feedback and was rejected because I don’t have a help desk account! Webcams worked OK on previous IOS releases. Sad state of affairs for a once great app.

Do not buy the extra cams they offer. I purchased them and my iPad became unusable and I had to purchase a new one. I went and downloaded Webcams again. When I logged in I did not have the cams I had paid for. I went to the restore cams option and it said it didn’t have a record of my purchase. I looked through my apple history and found it in less then 5 minutes that I had paid for all the cams the site offered. I have emailed the company over 5 times requesting they restore my cams or refund me the money if they refuse to honor their sale. I have been robbed then ignored. So whatever you do, don’t give this company your money. They are dishonest and have zero customer service.

During this difficult year of quarantining and no travel, earth cam has brought me to many of my favorite vacation places every day! The high quality of the cams set it apart from the competition. My favorite cam is the falcon cams, watching the baby falcons grow every day is amazing and brings me such joy! I love that my favorite vacation spots all have earth cams (Aruba, New York City, San Francisco, Florida) and watching the cams take the sting out of not being able to travel a bit for me

I only have one complaint about this site, I wish I had found it a long time ago. I’ve been able to show my grandkids places they would never get to see or hear. No one would get the chance to see the places around the world as we do sitting right at home. Plus it has inspired us to travel to see some places in person. Just wished ther were more cameras out there. Thank you.

UPDATE: Everything is back to the prior excellent cam experience. Thanks for fixing whatever was causing the problem. A joy to use again!

Long loading times for cams, app hangs, sound from a cam continues even after you kill Webcams , becomes impossible to scroll down cam list. Experience is so frustrating I’ve quit using it. iPad Pro on latest iOS release.

I love Webcams! I can be anywhere in the world and watch what is going on. For New Year's, I got to watch close up the stages and in-between behind the scenes set up for the stage with the Aladdin signs and the Planet Gym stage. I'm a pilot so get my flying fix by watching a smaller airport in Florida which I love! I can giraffes at night and tons more. I upgraded for just a few dollars which is worth every penny with the world open to me with the cams on Webcams . I hope they keep adding more!

I really enjoy checking in on my favorite cams weather and street activity (so different during pandemic). This past holiday season I watched the Christmas light installation on Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store... fascinating. My favorite cams are “Dublin Cam”, “Miami News Cafe” (when it’s available), and the “5th Avenue Cam”. My only real criticism is that I have to scroll my favorites list in order to move from one (example) Times Square cam to another. Please add a feature that allows me to arrange my favorite cams in my own order.

I love Webcams! I especially enjoy the Hella, Iceland cam. I look almost nightly for the aurora borealis. I have noticed on this site as well as others that the night scenes are plagued by pixilation or matrix issues from the camera, making it hard to see detail. Do you have any influence over the quality of the cameras that are being used? On another note, can you make Webcams so that the list of favorites can be scrolled through without having to go back to the main menu and tapping on Favorites again each time.

I had purchased Webcams a year or two ago, but had to remove it due to iPad storage problems. Recently, I reinstalled the free app figuring I may have to repurchase the whole app because they would have no record of my first purchase. Boy was I wrong. The minute I opened the free app, a pop up appeared asking if I wanted to reinstall the cameras I had purchased 2 years ago instead of just the free cameras. So happy to know they had kept my records. Love Webcams. Dublin is my favorite! It is so alive and full of energy!

I love earth cam and look at all the different cams throughout the day and night. I like the all the businesses when it comes to cities and the quiet ones where you can enjoy people watching on the streets. Dublin temple bar is one of my favorites since I’ve been there and enjoy hearing the music and buzz inside the temple bar webcam. NYC always fun to look at as well many others on Webcams. Overall , a great webcam and very entertaining and enjoyable!

I love Webcams and I love that you can see so many different beautiful places of the country. You see other pictures from other countries and it is just so wild to see those places since a lot of us can’t personally see those places. It is a great app to open when you are at work and just feel like you need to check out other places. It does enhance your desire to be somewhere else LOL but that is the only flaw with Webcams 😄❤️👍

The quality of Webcams is the best that you could expect. The pictures are great, beautiful, clear, with many or most live videos with sound. You could not ask for more. Right now I am viewing pictures in the middle of Hurricane Irma. The selection is tremendous too. I would totally recommend Webcams to anyone wanting to view videos and pictures of places from all over the world, excellent app!

I’ve enjoyed your app for several years now. My wife went on a trip to New Orleans with her sister and friend. When they were at the corner of the Cats Meow bar, she called me and I saved a number of pictures of them as they were waving at the camera on the corner. They were too chicken to go in and sing karaoke at the Cats Meow. What a cool real time use of your app !!! Please add more worldwide and USA cameras!!! I check it out daily!!!
