Ridiculous subscription

I have been a custom of log ten since 2005. The software has been great and the ability to upgrade when I felt like the features would be of value, which was most of the time. However, the new subscription model is absolutely ridiculous. To pay $100 a year just to be able to use software that does not change or have any information that the company must constantly update such as maps or airport data like foreflight is absurd. I use to recommend logten to all the instructors I work with and all of the students where I work, which is in excess of 400, especially bc of the ability to sign flights, but I will now be finding a new logbook to use and recommend.

Edit: As if it wasn’t bad enough before at nearly $100 a year with the Mac version being free to use if you purchased LogTenPilotLogbook . Now they have removed that as well and increased the price again to $130 a year. The developer responds with they have a fantastic suppose team and always adding new features but should I really have to pay more for night mode, a feature that is it even needed, also if the software worked as it was suppose to there wouldn’t need to be any “service” always there to help. Im love technology but these people are what criminals look like in the tech era. I will be switching to Pilot Pro. One time $40 app and free web app with all the same features.

Terrible Terrible Customer Service

Absurdly expensive. You will have no control when they want to raise the price, look elsewhere. Log10 Pro used to be $100 good for a lifetime. A few days before the subscription change where they charge an outrageous amount each year, I added the Log10 Pro subscription to my cart and went through to complete the order. A couple days later I realized the order did not go through correctly. They changed the subscription from $100/lifetime to a much higher $100/per year cost. They would not even in kindness be willing to grandfather me through on the old plan price. Now I find out that with Atlas Air and many other airlines, it is impossible to import my schedule, many flights at a time into my Log10 Pro logbook. So, I might as well have just done it the old way or found a much cheaper option, or just Excel spreadsheet or something. These people will happily take your money, and provide very little assistance. I still have never been able to talk to any sort of support over the phone. Plus, there is no guarantee they won't blast the price up even higher in the future. There are much cheaper options that are just as good.

Tiresome

From the moment I first started subscribing, I had all kinds of issues with a program that was supposed to make my life easier. I contacted tech support years ago to address an issue I had with certain hours inexplicably not being counted. I got a strange response with someone from support attempting to show me that it was working fine while simultaneously attaching a file that reinforced the fact that it still wasn’t counting those hours. I eventually through hours of troubleshooting figured it out on my own, but it was emblematic of what was to come. When it works, it works, but for such a high priced program, it should work better than it does. For a while sync was (and honestly still is) troublesome. And my latest issue post update, is that the iOS app won’t even open if I don’t have an active Wi-Fi connection. It just crashes. I’m now at a point where I am seriously considering just using a spreadsheet because this is getting ridiculous.

Expensive subscription model for absolutely 0 new features

No new features have been released in a few years. $100+ per year for an app that could improve so much but they just won’t add any new features. Especially ones I’ve messaged about 4+ years ago. They advertise an amazing support structure.....but if they’re app worked as advertised they wouldn’t need to rely on their support structure to justify paying $100+ per year. Edit: In response to the developers reply - “thousands of updates and improvements” sounds like something that should be included FOR FREE when you purchase an app, not justify $100/year. ForeFlight charges same process and they have a logbook that works exactly like yours, but comes with so so so so much more. You need MAJOR updates, not little tweaks. You sent out an email recently about “now we can show 117 limits”...YOU COULD DO THAT 4 YEARS AGO NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!! And hows that split screen coming along? I requested that 4+ years ago and said it was “coming” but nothing yet. Horrible service. Definitely not worth the money. Find something else. Anything else. All these reviews say the exact same thing.

Lost all entries!

Purchased logbook four years ago, and have renewed my subscription three times since. Assumed that the $75 fee would provide a backup of data on the Log Ten Pro website. After my iPad was accidentally erased, I attempted to retrieve my logbook entries from Log Ten Pro...THEY DON’T KEEP THEM!
I was instructed to retrieve information from my iCloud (which I also pay for separately). For some reason, only the first year’s worth of logbook entries were saved. It seems that some setting in LogTenPilotLogbook must have changed when I renewed my subscription, and not a single entry was saved after that. I was told that I must have changed something in the “settings” part of LogTenPilotLogbook . I DID NOT...there would be no reason for me to even go into the settings, as nothing has changed on my end...same airline, same plane, same position, same base. So, for no apparent reason, I have lost the last 30 months worth of flight information. Not sure what you get for $75 every year. There are many other logbooks out there that only require an initial purchase to use. I would choose one of those and save yourself hundreds or even thousands of dollars over your career. You decide!

Mostly works

For the longest time, my review would never show up on LogTenPilotLogbook Store..I think partly because I was writing a review through LogTenPilotLogbook! Really buggy and clunky! I really had high hopes for LogTenPilotLogbook, but it’s just very poorly designed. It still feels like a prototype that one guy wrote, but never got funding to get a full team to develop. It’s very clunky software, not intuitive, and extremely frustrating to get the data out of it that you want. There are things called smart groups, currency groups, and limit groups, but you add one, and it shows nothing. They have pre-made reports, but you have to generate the report, then open it and see if it has the data you want. There is no functional sorting or filtering feature. Customer service is a joke..they take days to reply through email, and the responses aren’t helpful. They send you links that don’t work, or smart groups that don’t make sense. If this were a $9.99 one time fee app, it might be worth considering, but the price is a complete scam! I’ve subscribed for years, and I literally had to check in LogTenPilotLogbook Store to see if they actually updated LogTenPilotLogbook because nothing seems to have changed. Excel would work a lot better than this thing. Sad story: don’t buy it.

iCloud sync buggy

I pay for the package that lets you use LogTenPilotLogbook across your iphon/ipad & mac. It is considerably more for the package that allows access on your mac, and as much as I enjoy using it on my ipad and iphone, the icloud sync is pretty useless. I’ve followed their troubleshooting tips and have even contacted customer support several times and the blame always goes to “it’s problems with icloud”. I don’t buy this, I have plenty of other apps that sync across icloud with no problem and for the money you charge that’s not a satisfactory reason for why my logbooks don’t sync. If it really is an issue with icloud invest in a server and remove icloud from the equation, god only knows, as everyone who pays for your logbook we certainly pay enough, especially since it’s just about as expensive as a foreflight subscription which includes a digital logbook, which surprise surprise has no issues syncing. Stop resting on your laurels and improve, your prices have certainly gone up since what they were before so now fix these issues

Was hoping for more functionality

This is the third time I’ve been pushed into having to update my LogTen Pro. I had the original and then an IOS update came out and it wasn’t compatible. Fast forward a few years and once again same thing. At least then it was a one time purchase. Now thanks to the overlords at apple and IOS 11 I am force to do the annual subscription. Ok. What surprised me is that there is almost no functionality improvements over previous versions. One would think that after so many years IOS would finally be able to import airline schedules from FLICA or what system you use, but it still only available from the MAC. For what it is the program is decent and it does enable quick reference for filing out an 8710 and watching your flight limits. However both were available on my previous non IOS 11.0 version. Over a thirty year career this program will wind up costing a pilot several thousands of dollars. I may just print out my logbook at year end and go back to the old way. Just my two cents. -Michael

Mixed feeling over mixed operation

I absolutely love LogTenPilotLogbook … HOWEVER… I use LogTenPilotLogbook every time I go to work so I only had the basic subscription. But then I figured it would be easier to manage on an iPad, but I didn’t have one yet, so when I bought an iPad I upgraded my subscription. The cloud rarely allowed my iPad to get all the current information I put into my phone and I wound up not using it. So when it came to renew my subscription I attempted to downgrade back to the basic plan, and while my subscription says basic now I was charged the full $130 ($140 w/ tax) for the premium! I am NOT happy right now. I called Apple Care and they said the only thing they could do is cancel my entire subscription and then wait for everything to clear then repurchase LogTenPilotLogbook on the basic plan. I love been flying for 15 years. I waited until I had over 5,000 hours to buy LogTenPilotLogbook, and it took me 6 months to enter my paper logbook into LogTenPilotLogbook. I cannot afford the kind of time it would take to input the over 8,000 hours I have now. I just want a refund of the $50 that I’m owed now being back on the basic plan.

Great interface. Sync feature is its weak point.

I have been using LogTen for a couple years now. Once you set it up how you like, entries are quick and easy on the iPad/iPhone. However the iCloud sync feature has caused me many headaches over the years. Several times now I have had to troubleshoot iCloud syncing issues. My current issue is that my iPad will not sync and my mac says it has synced but doesn't reflect the new entries that I've created on my iPhone. I'm currently deleting and reinstalling it on my iPad and then I'll deal with my mac.. this is frustrating because it takes a lot of time to go through and verify that I did not lose an entry that I may have created on my iPad that didn't sync to my other devices. I have had to do something similar to this a couple times since I've started LogTen. I wish they would add a sync now button or a pull down to sync/refresh feature. Other than that it's a great app even though it's one of the more expensive options.

Would like to see a more polished interface, and importing on iOS

Would like to see some optimization to the interface (particularly on large screens). The layout of the logged flights is not compact at all. Would be good if there was a compact view that could be toggled. Also, I’d like to be able to generate reports with just the fields I select, instead of have to choose from layouts that they’ve made.

Huge problem, lack of import options using iPad or iPhone. Instead, you MUST have a desktop mac. Honestly, after hand entering flights, and after trying the RosterBuster export workaround (which frankly, I have to go into the imported flights and clean up the data a lot), I’m not sure I’ll continue with the subscription after this year if import support isn’t implemented. Too much work.

AWESOME! 100% Recommended for Airline Pilots

I cannot say enough how much stress left my life when I finally made the switch to Log Ten Pro. I am a captain at SkyWest Airlines and used a different electronic logbook software for 6 years before making the switch. I was first impressed when I messaged their support to fix a simple date issue and I received a reply within 10 minutes. The issue was fixed and they even offered to upload my CSV files for me to create my new logbook. I previously used MCC Pilot Pro (now: Crew Lounge AERO). I never once was able to sync my schedule without error messages, a 7 day wait for email or their software going out for weeks at a time. It was like pulling teeth to get my logbook updated. Now, the process is insanely easy and it just works. This software was worth every penny and I can’t recommend it enough for those looking for a software that just works with ease.

My go to logbook...

I've been using Coridine's product for several years now. I find that it works extremely well for my needs. I'm a commercial pilot that flies privately. I log 250+ hours per year and every one of them is detailed in LogTenPro on an iPhone 7. I also use the software on an iPad. I keep details of the flight times, flight conditions, passengers, approaches, business use, training flights, etc. I have always found the product to be reliable and stable. I've also been very happy with the ability to customize data fields and the UI. I've had a couple of issues synching over the years but the Coridine support team have always been able to quickly solve my problem. Most importantly, I have NEVER lost any data. I'm a die hard Apple user and in my opinion, there's no better log book on Apple iOS. In fact, I'm also a die hard Foreflight user and even though the Foreflight log book is now bundled and data can be imported to it, there's no way I'm switching.

Not worth the cost

I tried a few different digital log books and used them side by side for the last 2 months. LogTen, whole having lots of hype and good comments proved to be rather clunky and at times frustrating. I fly different aircraft and one point of frustration comes from LogTen entering an old Hobbs time that had to be cleared each time an entry is made, including separate legs of the same trip. Tracking and entering approaches flown is also poorly designed. Why do I need to tell you the type and runway of an approach when I’ve told you where it was flown?, why isn’t there a drop down provided? Every trip requires a new identifier to be searched and added, and tomorrow you’ll be doing the same thing, for destinations you frequent.
Then the best part, after 250 hours, I need to pay either 80 or 130 if I want it on my computer too?
There’s other programs much more intuitive and faster that provide the same reports without the time consuming effort it takes to enter time.

App and support fails

My problem is not with the pricing...I’ll save that review for another day.

LogTenPilotLogbook periodically fails to work when it doesn’t recognize longstanding login credentials whether they are thumbprint or username/password. Previously, it would spontaneously work for a few weeks, then quit, again. Having changed neither my password nor my thumbprint, one day...Boom! no longer able to log anything. By the way, when the email password rest button fails to send an email reset link...email tech support, right? Well, only if you are anxious to receive ineffective advice like “check your spam folder for the email”. Really?? That’s all the support I get? It’s been a whole 24 hours since I have heard from them and their “amazing” support team. Why can’t we just have a phone number
to resolve the issue in a reasonable timeframe? I don’t sit behind a desk waiting for the support team’s email to arrive-I am using LogTenPilotLogbook as a tool because I am busy with other things...like
flying.
Still no help with the login issues, and no way to continue using this subscription based app....

By the way, it never seems to work without an internet connection, so if you are airborne, better hope someone paid 6 figures for in flight wi-fi if you want to log flight data....

The logbook you want!

You may need or want the small logbook if your just getting started in aviation but as soon as you start taking aviation seriously you’ll want this log book app. Simply put it does everything you could ever want. It does so much more then just logging time and helping you keep a neat an organized logbook. It can calculate your time to complete an 8710 in seconds. It’s easy to know how much you flew in the last 6, 12, or 24 months so you can update your time correctly for your next FAA medical. It helps you know when you’ve accumulated the time required for your next ticket. It can most importantly help you create a great logbook when you need to present one for such an occasion as a job interview. I know it was an enormous help when I got an opportunity to interview with a major airline, yeah I got the job.

Support is awesome!! Instructions were bad

Okay so at first I was ready to throw in the towel and move on because the instructions on how to run things were god awful. Then I contacted Nicho in their support department who took care of me, all my demands and demonstrated a patience I have never seen before in any business.
They imported thousands of hours of flight info and THEN when something didn’t take, Nicho FIXED it all line by line!!!
THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of flights worth of items!! HOLY CR/P!!
I am still learning the system but with this support level, it’s hands down the VERY BEST AVAILABLE!!
Truly shocked by how great Nicho was and still is to me!!
LogTenPilotLogbook has incredible functionality and usefulness!!
I have never seen a company with this level of support. I know there are people posting about updates and new rates that take them by surprise but while that certainly isn’t good, I’d be willing to bet the folks at Coradine will change the way they do the updates so that it matches the high level of support they provide.
Far superior to anything else available and I mean by a huge margin.
A instructional video that goes from the very beginning and assumes total novice would be great. I think it would make the learning curve for guys like me a lot less intense.
Thanks!!

Best Electronic Logbook Option

As a professional pilot (Part 121) who cares about (and needs) accurate logging of flight times, as well as various duty times, having a logbook I can completely tailor exactly to my needs is important. I’ve tried numerous logbooks, both paid and free, and I think this is the best logbook solution available. I’ve also found being able to custom track various categories/combos of times has made keeping applications updated super easy.

I pay the annual fee, which does make this (I think) the most expensive logbook software. You get what you pay for. For something that I use so often, and for so many important reasons, I consider the cost worthwhile. As long as the quality remains where it is, as long as updates continue happening, its worth the cost.

Great logbook. Can be cumbersome, but worth the hassle!

Udate: Developer responded with instructions. Apparently, the features I asked for are already there! Five stars :)

Great logbook overall, however, the iPad version needs to include the ability to log more than two approaches in one flight. The basic instrument qualification requires three approaches in a single flight. How am I supposed to log that? Also, how can I annotate my route of flight in the ipad version? I don't see any way of doing that. Fix these two shortfalls and I'll update to 5 stars.

Note: LogTenPilotLogbook kept crashing for some unknown reason. I tried uninstalling/re-installing to no avail. In the end, I had to completely reformat my ipad (pro 9.7"). Sort of a pain, but I restored from my icloud backup and it seems to be working now.

Best integrated digital professional logbook available

I have been using LogTen Pro since 2017 and it has gotten better and better. This latest update takes out the differences that can occur in LogTenPilotLogbook on your phone and on your iPad (for instance) when using iCloud or Dropbox. This new version allows for sync between platforms within seconds and both iPhone and iPad (for me) now are a mirror. Also, LogTen Pro’s integration with FC View for those of us that use it, is such a time saver and makes having your own digital logbook a dream to use. Highly recommend this for anyone starting out. Also, printing your logbook for job interviews or reports for resumes is the best in the business. Get LogTenPilotLogbook.
