I downloaded StartStretching because of all the good reviews but honestly I’m not sure why so many rant and raved about StartStretching. Yes, it has a simple layout with example/instructions on each stretch with a built in timer you can adjust, but theres only a handful of stretches offered. Even buying the premium only gets you an additional 8 random stretches or so. I was looking for an in depth stretch app that gives multiple exercises for a focused area. Like a section for upper back or low back. These are just a bunch of random stretches thrown in an app. I don't see how they'd be particularly beneficial. Its better than nothing, but to really stretch an area, you need more than just one stretch move per body part.

First, it would be great if StartStretching told you which muscles you are supposed to feel each stretch in, so that you know if you are doing the stretch correctly. Second, it would be great if there were an option of having a voice reading the instructions aloud so that you don't have to read the descriptions in between stretches and break the rhythm of the routine. Other than that, decent stretching app.

StartStretching is good but limited. The one routine is too general and would be better if there were routines for specific muscle groups or sport specific routines. With these features it would become more useful.
Other than how it currently is the countdown and timer for holding the stretches is fantastic because some of us are more flexible than others and I like the ability to hold the streches longer before or after a run or other event.
Now please make this better than it is and realize its ability to help us all!

I’m 32 and was an athlete my whole life, but never saw the value of stretching. As I get older and my muscles and bones don’t hold up like they did when I was 18, I’m starting to realize the value of stretching. I’ve given up on stretching routines because I take on too much too fast and quit because I don’t see results quickly. StartStretching has motivated me to be consistent with the easy stuff and have seen results little by little. I’d love for more stretches to be periodically added. I’ll still give it 5 stars for simplicity and function.

It’s phenomenal in its simplicity! Do not trust the “one star” reviews! The Premium Version doubles the amount of stretches! And more are coming!
You would appreciate the ability to customize your workouts to the maximum! Perhaps, this is not an “encyclopedia of stretching”! But it will get you started, keep you healthy and happy!

I love StartStretching — super convenient for quick stretching after a workout. The graphics are simple and nice and the sounds between stretches are great. I just wish there were some more stretches available!

I’ve been using StartStretching to keep track of my morning stretches for the past week and it’s helped not only remind me on those mornings that I am too distracted to remember to stretch but all works well with the Health App that comes with the iPhone!

Thank you so much for StartStretching. I used it once this morning and now once before bed and already see myself using it daily. Very easy to follow, everything you'd want in a guided stretching app and none of the junk you don't need. So simple. Love it.

As I said, it's definitely one of my favorite apps, but one thing I miss a lot is that it's got no option for progression, besides extending time or going on a second round, and it had limited set of moves. I hope there will be some updates.

As a beginner to working out (to whom the notion of stretching beforehand came as something of a revelation), the most basic question I ask is "okay, right, so what the hell am I supposed to do, like a couple of jumping jacks or what?" StartStretching answers that question clearly and concisely, so that I can do a regular workout without leaving myself all sore and discouraged. Thanks guys.

I love StartStretching. It's very simple and easy to use. I've been using it for a week and is now part of my morning routine.

Suggestion: please add additional stretches and the ability to modify the routine. There is a stretch I don't do and add others due to my shoulder bursitis. I'm willing to pay up to $2.00 for StartStretching if/when you add those features.

I found StartStretching very useful, being that I haven't done any significant stretching in decades. My only suggestion would be that it would add some core stretches. It would also be helpful if they would identify what muscles would feel the stretching in the poses. Great app!

I woke up one day and discovered I was in my mid 40s. Everything seemed more difficult. I realized I needed to dedicate time every day to stretching. StartStretching helps me so that. It’s simple. It’s not over-engineered. It’s well-done. It helps me stay on track with stretching that’s right for me. A beginner. And as I become more advanced, it has additional levels for that too!

I'm new to stretching and was informed to do so since I'm incredibly stiff in my legs. It's definitely gonna take some time to loosen up, but I'm already starting to feel better. You just have to be on top of it. I miss days sometimes, but I try to do them everyday, 30sec per stretch. I hope I'll be able to increase my time soon. You definitely feel good afterward.

Solid app. Good flexibility in settings to allow set up and stretch time length. Keeps ongoing record of usage. Works well while listening to podcasts, but difficult to hear tones while listening to music. Features I would like to see are independent volume control and custom stretch program - where I can add new stretches, repeats, etc. Keep up the great work.

Stretching has not been my highest priority even though I’m pretty active. The older I get, the longer recovery time becomes. StartStretching has made it easy to make short stretching session a daily (or 2x daily) activity. Good starting point.

Only thing that could be added is a description of which muscles are being stretched. This helps you know if you’re in the correct position.

StartStretching is good if you are a beginner or just want some foundational stretches you can do to get your day started. I like it because it can be done quickly. I like the 7 minute workout each day before jumping in the shower as a wake-up / keep the body strong in the basics. This stretch routine is like that in my mind.... something you can do for a few minutes daily.... just to stay limber with the basics throughout your life.

StartStretching is great for anybody looking to start a good stretching routine! I’ve used it for a month now and have noticed myself significantly more flexible; StartStretching design is simple and straightforward which makes it easy to do everyday. The developer is fantastic! I reported a glitch after an update and he responded and had it fixed the very next day! Overall, I’m very happy with StartStretching, happy enough that if the developer added paid features in the future, I’d be the first customer and that’s a lot coming from me!

I am a huge fan of StartStretching and have been for several months. It has really helped me push my beginner stretches! My pike and butterfly in particular have progressed a lot. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get into a stretching routine!

My only issue is that as I find myself progressing through the stretch, I wish I could add others that help push my flexibility further. I see other similar requests for more stretches. My minimal-complexity suggestion would be to allow users to add pictures/descriptions of other stretches to modify/add to the routine.

I love StartStretching and I use it on a daily basis. Not only does it help make amends to your flexibility but I also use it as a source of meditation and a source to learn how to be more patient. I highly recommend it and just give it a try because it doesn't hurt to do so, and you never know how many improvements it will help make in your physical areas.
