Over.Video: Add Text to Videos Reviews

OverVideo is a horrible hodgepodge of an editing software. There’s a pay wall for almost everything except for putting text on videos, which is fortunate for me except, that feature, the feature advertised in the title of OverVideo, doesn’t even work. Once you click on preview to see the video in its final form and get passed the barrage of advertisements OverVideo throws at you, you’ll find out that your video isnt at all what you wanted. Instead you’ll see a black video with no noise and the only thing other than that you’ll see are words that you added to the video. This was a complete waste of my time and it’s sickening that you want us to pay for most of the features when the part that’s free can’t even do its job.

So, I was making my video, and was on it for like 30 minutes. It turned out GREAT and I was so surprised by how the words were perfectly over the video. BUT, when I clicked preview, it just showed a black screen for the video!! After, I tried using a picture and that worked fine!! I’m so confused. Is there a step I’m missing?? I would love for the video to work. OverVideo is amazing.

I like that OverVideo is very user friendly and you don't have to go to film school to use it. There are some adds but this is a great free app to have in your video making arsenal.

Cons - the ads are a lil longer than they should be. It messes up sometimes which can be very frustrating.

Not happy with the limited options in iMovie on iPad, I tried this one to add texts to video. It works similar to adding a caption to video in iMovie except it allows you to specify the duration the text, which is a good option. Then it becomes more difficult (or impossible as I have not figured an easy way) to add different texts to different segments of the video. Not sure if has this functionality. Even if it has, it does not make it easy to use for a beginner. Will upload OverVideo and look for another one for my iPad.

It’s ok except that the ads pop up when ur rushing to edit in time for your recording session

there is a paywall for crop, a paywall for trim, a paywall FOR EVERYTHING! I got OverVideo because I needed to add 3 words to a video I was using to help someone learn a technique to help them with something and it was completely unusable and useless even for that simple task. The positive reviews for this one without a doubt extremely fake. Ads before you get to step 1 seconds into the first launch, and paywalls on EVERYTHING!

Horrible user experience and when you crop your video, it doesn’t. It simply deletes your video instead or, only shows the outer edges on the preview screen. You don’t know what you’ve got nor where your video went to. All you see is off colored screen and any words you may have typed while hearing the video’s audio only. When the preview ends, you see an image of your video again. Really waste of my good time. I must have my money back.

I’ve been using OverVideo for years and have never had any negative experiences. Easy to use and other than the ads popping up, it’s great.

AVOID!!! Seems like a dream but they’re just after your money. I started out with the weekly plan the first time I used it. The second time I opened OverVideo it wouldn’t let me use any feature without purchasing the monthly plan, CONSTANTLY with the pop up subscription page! Then the third time I opened it, it wouldn’t let me proceed unless I got the yearly. Complete racket.

OverVideo has all you need to Title your Video; annotate, crop and edit. It does it all and I’m glad that I found it. I highly recommend OverVideo to everyone who does their own videos.

I looked for ever to find a edit app like this, all I wanted to do was add words, but the others had everything but words, and this one was perfect, I thank you u for making it!

I have downloaded so many app to create videos for my instagram and all of them have failed me, but thank to this app I can finally do what I want. I 100% recommend OverVideo!

K I wanted something simple and this was OverVideo ! Absolutely amazing. I just wanted a title to my video and that was it! And OverVideo made it possible considering almost downloading 15 other apps just to do what OverVideo does. I love it!

EVERY single time I try to make a video, right when I go to press ‘save’ OverVideo freaks out and deletes it all. I would really like to enjoy OverVideo. It’s not a storage problem, I’m not trying to work too fast and over click, it just won’t work. My friend who is with me, downloaded it and it keeps doing the same to her as well.

you can hardly change around your text unless you literally start the project over. so if you type something you better make sure it’s what you want or else lose all your work!! SO FRUSTRATING!!! fix this please! i would really love OverVideo is this was fixed. it’s the whole point of OverVideo and yet it barely works!

When I try to preview a clip, it just shows a blank screen with sfx. I thought that it was just a bug with the preview feature and tried saving the video to my camera roll; a blank video with my selected text was saved. I’m willing to change my rating once this issue is addressed.

If you downloaded it to do what the title says,(add text to video) it works great! That’s all I’m using it for, so I don’t know if all the other features work. Overall, it worked great for me.

Wayyyyy too many ads!!! Because I can’t bypass them, it takes longer to watch them than it does to add text to my videos. Not sure if there’s a paid version without ads, but out of principle for feeling forced through the way the ads are handled, I’m looking for an alternative.

By far the best video overlay app out there! Scoop it up! You won't be disappointed by anything!! Unlock the full potential too, that really makes OverVideo a pretty powerful tool!
