This taxi service was a life-saver during our short stay in Malta, and we used it 6 or 7 times over the course of 3 days. The cars are large, comfortable Peugot sedans and the drivers are very professional. (And the fares are very competitive)

When it worked as expected, it was great... you could see time until pick-up, see the drivers on the map, etc. However, there were a couple times when it simply didn’t update the information, and it’s pretty stressful to see “Expected wait 13 minutes” and look down 10 minutes later and it still says the same thing...
It was rare that it happened, but it always seemed to happen when we were in a time crunch. If they fix that, this service is 5 stars for sure.

So many problems with this app Malta. The time estimate on eCabs is an absolute joke. Here is an example of the most recent experience. I request a van which eCabs says is 1 min away. App searches for a driver for about 3 minutes and then finds me one, apparently 7 minutes away. After waiting 10 minutes the driver is now 5 minutes away and dropping off another client. Eventually, 28 minutes after booking the “1 min away” van our ride arrives. Furthermore, I always select Apple Pay upon ordering the car and every single time when it finds a driver it has switched to cash. Driver can never help and I’ve had to find cash every single time. Drivers always say there must be an issue with the network/app. Clearly! Use Bolt instead, much more reliable.

Clean new cars with friendly drivers. Good communication - they called me on a british mobile when close to arriving.

Please could you add the facility to add a tip when paying by credit card on eCabs .

When in Malta - eCabs is terrible. You will end up calling the taxi company anyway and spent 10 minutes while they attempt to find your booking on their app. Definitely would use the other taxi App when in Malta - not this one seriously horrible!

eCabs does not allow for a stop along the way. So, if I need to drop my date off at Santa Lucija on the way to Valletta, there is no way to request that on eCabs . The Uber app has that feature.

Which makes it useless

I don’t understand why the reviews for eCabs are so high when eCabs wouldn’t let me register at all?

it says an error as soon as i type my email. not sure why others claim that this works.

My boyfriend and I tried to download and register but we both did not receive SMS for verification. When we called the help number they weren’t of much help either.

All taxi and ride share apps include three simple things.
1. The ability to know where your driver is
2. The abilty to use eCabs to get contact information for (or contact directly) the ride company.
3. The ability to put ETA information for the arrival of the car inside eCabs .
eCabs does none of that. It is by software design standards "worst of breed"

I’ve tried 4 different numbers both US and UK and the SMS verification will not send a code to verify. eCabs is useless until fixed.

We traveled to Malta and used this app. All the drivers and cars are professional and are employed by the company. eCabs is easy to use and very efficient with location pickup and dropoff.
