KOA Camping RV Cabin Tent Reviews

This KOA campground is situated in a place surrounded by cows and other animals. What the owner Helmet calls “country”. Needless to say you can’t stay outside your RV without being swarmed by flies and the fragrance of cow manure. Extremely unsanitary. It has a great mountain view but unfortunately the mountain is made of manure several hundred feet away. Its so a rough dirt road getting into the campground and the roads within the grounds are dirt with a sprinkling of gravel. Few obey the speed limit and the dust is endless. The owner Helmet is well aware of these conditions but he thinks simply calling “country” explains why this isn’t mentioned on his website. I find this very deceitful. I wish I had checked the reviews first because there are several others that mentioned this. When we ask for a refund for the next three nights as we were leaving Helmet said it was KOA‘s policy no refunds without a 48 hour notice he therefore only refunded one night I contacted KOA headquarters they said it was up to the owner to issue a refund. Who’s lying?? Not finished with this yet more to come.

I reviewed this a few years ago and today tried to use it for the first time since. I really wanted to like this and hoped it would be convenient way to make reservations. They’ve made changes/improvements and updates since my last review but I still couldn’t get a successful reservation. I followed all the prompts and answered everything including entering credit card info and then it just stalled out. I hit the back button and reentered everything again and thought everything was OK as it said I’d receive a confirmation via email. Well I waited and waited with no email received. Finally picked up the phone and called the campground and did it all the old fashioned way. You folks are wasting your money and our time on this useless app.

What I need from this application is a way to look up all of my reservations. I’ve booked 4 different reservations at 4 different KOA locations for a road trip, and it would be nice if I could see all of those reservations in one convenient place, rather than printing out four different reservation documents. Then, KOACampingRVCabinTent would make sense: It does provide good information on each KOA location, but is designed for searching for new destinations. It is not able to provide any information on existing reservations. I’m deleting KOACampingRVCabinTent .

The good: You can book sites online. That’s about it. The not so good: It’s slow. Annoyingly so. The fact that the loading bar exists at all indicates they expect a poor user experience, otherwise it should be architected to avoid this. The older app didn’t do this and was much faster in general. KOACampingRVCabinTent doesn’t remember your selected preferences profile, meaning every time you check availability/make reservations, you have to wait for the page to load (red loading indicator and all), select your profile from the dropdown, wait again while the loading indicator makes you want say bad words, and then see it loaded. Want to change dates? Go through it all again. Want to check another campground nearby? Same. It’s just painfully slow to use KOACampingRVCabinTent. Oh and the random logouts are awesome. Start looking for a site, after waiting, only to realize the preferences option isn’t there because you were logged out of KOACampingRVCabinTent without notice. Navigate KOACampingRVCabinTent to where you can log in, log in, manually get back to the campground and spot where you were checking availability, and then wait numerous times while you select the profile, etc. etc. I know first hand that it’s hard to make good software, but KOACampingRVCabinTent is not fun to use at all, ever, under any circumstances. Please focus on improving the speed and usability of KOACampingRVCabinTent. Speed matters. It’s death by 1000 cuts trying to use KOACampingRVCabinTent.

Overall KOACampingRVCabinTent is wonderful. However, I find it really annoying that KOACampingRVCabinTent has no way to remember my KOA rewards number. I have to enter it every time, even though KOACampingRVCabinTent remembers everything else like the length of my rig, whether I’m bringing pets, etc. I guess it’s just a way for them to try to finagle me out of the 10% discount. I really hope this can be fixed so that KOACampingRVCabinTent is far more convenient and usable. If I am searching multiple campgrounds, I have to put in my rewards number multiple times just to compare.

KOACampingRVCabinTent has work very well for me, especially since I got the one bug fixed that was irksome in the early stages. I asked KOA's IT people why the "search for nearby campground" simply would not work on my iPad, and I got a quick and accurate reply. After applying their suggested fix, I have had no problems at all. This is one of the more helpful apps out there in my experience. Keep up the good work, folks!

Overall this is an informative and intuitive app. But it keeps giving me the message that “campground data is out of date” along with two buttons: cancel or update. Also tells me that I must be connected to WiFi or cellular to update. Well I am connected, but the update button doesn’t work. We are doing lots of traveling and I would hate for my app to get stale.......

Updated from 1 star to 5 - Fixed- Make sure under Settings - KOA that cellular data is turned on and use my location while using app and everything will work. Also 7 day or more update will update. Recent update must have turned it off????

Original Review - This was a 5 star app until very recent. Keeps crashing and several options do nothing.

Traveling with my kids, we have found the KOA’s are usually nice and have things for the kids to do. KOACampingRVCabinTent makes it easy to find campgrounds and check them out before staying. Also the KOA rewards is worth every penny. It paid for it’s self in the first two stays we booked. I wish I would have gotten it last year as we traveled the country. Glad I have it this year!

I retired 4 years ago and decided I to start traveling in the US with my wife. We invested in a used travel trailer to do this.
We started with 5 day adventures the first year, and only at KOA’s. This was a Great choice.
The second year, we did a 4600 mile trip and about 4 months of RVing. Almost all at KOAs because of cleanliness & great staffing we experienced.
This year we purchased a 2021 Jayco 27RL, and plan more travels and stays at KOAs.

I used KOACampingRVCabinTent to reserve a one room cabin for Memorial Day weekend. The process was easy enough. There are a few clumsy slots, going back and forth to compare and get prices for the different options, but I was able to complete the process on my own.

This will be our first time camping at KOA, but we hope to do a lot of tent camping this summer, and I’m already looking at the other KOA campgrounds in our state. We are looking forward to the experience!

We received our KOA membership as a benefit with our roadside assistance card. Unfortunately it has been dropped and is no longer included. Not a problem, we will continue to renew our KOA membership on our own. It’s a great value and the locations are always in the areas we visit. The helpful friendly staff and the well maintained grounds make our stays very enjoyable. Look forward to our next stay!

I would like to say that I've enjoyed staying at various KOA's and have enjoyed them all. We used to camp with trailers but do to my health issues camping with trailers has become an problem. So we have recently starting staying in KOA cabins when possible. Recently we stayed for three days at the KOA in Lafayette, LA in a handicap accessible cabin and the place is well kept. As to KOACampingRVCabinTent, I'm well pleased. We are planning a trip in late July into Aug. and we have already made several reservations. Thank you for all.

Camped here many times and love the staff. That have been super in assisting and have moved our site to our convenience when possible.
My issue is that is getting more pricey for us. We are seniors and do not use any of the amenities. I realize there are a lot of things for young children and their families. For the seniors they are no use. Our families live nearby and love staying there on our way through. It is convenient, but we are beginning to look for some places that are not as pricey. Thanks.

KOACampingRVCabinTent is good but I gave it a 5 star because of the camp I LOVE IT and it’s soooo fun we go there every year theres a pool and also there is a ice cream place and a gift shop. Another place where you can play volleyball, basketball and more there also is a lot of play grounds. And you can go boating, fishing, biking and more and you can also bring whatever you want. And there’s a dog park so you can bring your dogs. It’s only 7 dollars a person. So If you are thinking about going camping and don’t know where I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND camp KOA!!!!!!!!!!!!♥️

My experience with the KOA’s have been wonderful. The people are always helpful and accommodating. The facilities are well maintained. If your RV needs to be service they usually have someone on staff or they have a RV repair person within reach. It is an inexpensive way of traveling the country with similar Ike accommodations of a hotel. Many of them have swimming pools, exercise facilities as well stores within the camping ground that has food and other supplies. Some offer daily breakfast and pizza.

I don’t know how many times KOACampingRVCabinTent has helped us find a KOA when plans have changed during a trip. No more do we have to go online and scramble to find an available campground at the last minute- only to find out the office is closed and there are no online reservations. There are so many KOA campgrounds to choose from, and the way KOACampingRVCabinTent describes each campground, the amenities, and full descriptions of available sites, as well as being able to immediately make the reservation - makes it very easy to find an enjoyable place to stay. We have found places we love and have returned to, that we wouldn’t have found without KOACampingRVCabinTent. Love KOA!

I can’t say enough about the ease of making reservations or even cancellations (COVID restrictions). I was spending days/weeks trying to book reservations for a 5 week tour around the Great Lakes areas last year until I hit into the KOA website and I joined! Now we couldn’t find KOA campgrounds for all of our stays but the ones I found were, one website, search and done! All of them were great! This year we are doing the same! Today I made reservations for four weeks of our vacation! I really like the deluxe sites with the grills, patio and furniture. Now if you want to camp in a tent, go for it, but we are RVers and KOA is the way to go!

Easy to use! I enjoy exploring KOA locations by using the map but you can also search by location or certain amenities. From there it’s easy to tap the campground you want to see. When you’re ready to book, just select the type of campsite you want and put in your info. Done! You’ll receive a confirmation by email.
I know this seems simple for this day in age BUT some other camping apps I have tried are surprisingly unfriendly to use.
The other cool thing when cruising the map looking at campgrounds, the KOA map is chock full of details! More so than what you see on your phone map. I found a bunch of cool places and things to do just by zooming in and exploring the spaces in between campgrounds.

We will continue to return to the Benton harbor Koa several times this summer. It’s our absolute favorite. They are so wonderful sweet and very friendly! Our best memories were made there, and we need more. Cause several of our family members passed this fall and winter. And my mom has cancer she was diagnosed in September. We need some more one to recuperate and get the sadness away and we can celebrate there lives and hopefully my mom will be well enough to come with us.

We rented an RV spot from Madras/Culver KOA. We have a toy hauler with our quads and dirt bikes parked in front and our Raptor parked in front of that. We set up a chicken wire fence around our campground on posts (I would gladly post photos if I could to this review) to keep our two Australia Sheppard off-leash but constrained.

We are regularly complimented on this tactic and were complimented at this campground also.

24 hours into our stay ...the manager? came by telling us to take the fence down. First stating that "people complained", then changed to "people might complain", then stated that "if it was a fence purchased at petco it would be ok but this looks ....", and finally said that "any bad reviews would kill her and we need to take it down"

Also the campground is like a parking lot, no seclusion at all. One whole lane of trailer spots are residence of which is not the most comforting appearance of safety.

I used to love KOACampingRVCabinTent and used it all the time. Just like a majority of the reviews from the past few months, KOACampingRVCabinTent now crashes and just closes if your on an iPhone 11 or any iPhone running IOS 13+, and you try to use any of the search features. This happens a lot with completely new operating releases, but the frustrating thing is that KOA has had four months to fix this and there is nothing from them. Not even a comment from their developer that they are working on it on any of the bad reviews. KOA, please fix KOACampingRVCabinTent that I love!

KOA listened to the issues related to their website and thankfully fixed it. What irks me most is when you review a location and you never receive any feedback. We stayed at the Crawfordsville KOA in July and this place would be a great place to start a campground. The manager is totally uninterested in her guests or their needs. I rated this location and heard nothing. That’s what you need to work on.

We rely on KOACampingRVCabinTent when travelling to book last minute, one night stops as we travel long distances toward our ultimate destination. Updated info on the KOA camps and amenities, pictures and reviews are very helpful. Would like to see rates up front and whether or not there are restaurants in walking distance.

I love KOACampingRVCabinTent as it has been dead on this month of our travels. New to KOA and my husband and I have loved all 4 sites we’ve been too. All parks have been easily accessible and near all the mIn events. They have each been maintained very well with exceptional hosts. We have a 40 ft fifth wheel will 5 slides and we have had ample room in all sites. We have become believers in KOA parks!

Nice play area, indoor pool, mini golf, activities for kids such a gem mining, and even breakfast ( you have to pay for but nice option). Parents can relax knowing their kids are having fun! The showers are beautiful & LARGE! The bathroom itself is VERY VERY SPACIOUS! Carol at the front desk was super helpful!! We are from TN & doing a cross country road trip with our 2 young daughters for homeschool! She was able to accommodate us in our 1 night TENT SITE & we are thankful !!!

Some of the reviews I’ve read actually crack me up! Some people need to sale their tents, Rvs and Camping gear and stay at 5 star hotels..lol.. Ooops there was a piece of toilet paper on the ground in the Bathroom..😂🤦🏼‍♂️.. Anyways great staff, Always doing some kinda of maintenance or clean up! All staff was friendly and very helpful..I forgot my cable for tv hook ups and instead of buying one the staff member loaned me one..👍🏻Oh and I forgot to return it but booked five days next year so I’ll be she to return it.. (sorry) Keep up the good work staff your all excellent..👍🏻

We enjoy KOACampingRVCabinTent because my family likes the ease of KOACampingRVCabinTent and the fact that everything is in one spot and we can do a reservation on the road if plans change. Even the site type is able to be picked.
