- The app allows for unlimited eKeys and deleting as necessary.
- The concept of not needing a key is great.
- Kevo Plus allows for operating the lock when the app is taking too long to recognize the lock.

Do not waste your money on this. Kevo is trash, as is the product itself.
The concept: You don't need a key! You simply touch the lock to lock and unlock it (while in proximity of your phone with Kevo )
The reality: It rarely works.
Sometimes, I'll tap the lock, the lights'll spin for a few seconds and nothing happens. Then I do it again. Same result. After about 4 tries, I'll finally pull out my key and lock the door manually.
It WILL work when you don't want it to. I'll go out to check the mail and my hand will lightly brush the deadbolt and it'll activate. Or, it'll work when I've given up on it and finally pull my key out and it'll activate just as I go to put my key in the lock after standing there like a goon for 2 minutes trying to get it to work. Or, worse yet, it'll activate just because my key or finger touched the lock as I was inserting my key, sometimes creating an error when it tries to lock it after I just unlocked it (or vice versa).
Why couldn't this work when I need it to and have my hands full with groceries (coming home) or the items I need for work (leaving)? Nope. Only works effortlessly when I don't need it to at all.
It's literally the worst. I don't know if there are better options out there, but it's impossible to have worse options. Avoid at all costs.
The only reasons it gets two stars are because (a) you can’t rate it lower and (b), at the very least if you have your phone, you’ll never be locked out.

There is no Apple Watch option, there is no timer to lock and open the door. Having these two features can make it more easier for the user. Setting up a schedule for when the lock activates and locks the door for you, and then a time to open it. Instead of going to your phone to manually do it. Then another option is having easy access with your apple watch to open and lock the door. Hope to see these features in the near future, it’s already years behind and we hope to see these options coming to Kevo soon. It’s all programming nothing more , nothing less. Good luck but for now it’s one star rating with nothing special with Kevo

Challenge with these this app locks is that they are super expensive and change hardware every year. With bug fixes ever month, multiple permutations of installations, versions, etc are created and pretty soon you’ll find yourself in a situation, when you get Zero support unless you purchase New all over.
New year, new iPhone, new this app, when does the ridiculous spend stop? - once the this app stops working, you have Zero support and you just figured you are stuck with spending another $250 on a new lock or move back to the old lock.
Why bother with this app if it only works for a year?

More than 90 percent of the time, I am unable to lock or unlock my 1st gen this app lock on the first try (by touching the lock). Sometimes, restarting the this app app would work but most of the time, it does not. When the this app app is able to get the actual status (locked or unlocked) of the lock, it is possible to use Kevo the operate the lock but that usually takes a while and sometimes require restating Kevo . I also have this app Plus and when I am unable to operate the lock by touching the lock, and when this app app is taking too long to recognize the lock, I would resort to using this app Plus to operate the lock.
Because these issues started quite a few years ago, my wife has completely given up on using the “smart” feature of the this app and has switched back to using a physical key.

I expected this to work well. In short, it doesn’t! I’ve trained and retrained the locks. I’ve reset them. I’ve changed the batteries. I have two, one on each of the main doors to my house. There is ALWAYS a problem. I have an iPhone 11 Pro. The locks do whatever they want, when we they want. I’ve even been walking out the door and the lock has locked automatically as I’ve closed the door. Thankfully I had my phone. I want to change them, but I don’t want to deal with the hassle. I just use the key after five tries. I would NOT recommend these locks to anyone!

The last update ruined the functionality of the lock. It now locks and unlocks at will. It takes forever for the lock to work and it sounds like a grinding machine (seriously like a key being made in the grinder). I wish I could submit an audio. To top it off, my lock started flashing red and orange (new batteries were installed 3 weeks ago). Obviously this killed all functionality of the unit. I had to remove and reinstall software to get the flashing and functionality back. Now if I could get it to work like it did before the last update, I might consider keeping it.
Mechanical warranty is only 1 year. Companies solution after malfunction ( 14 months). “Disconnect electronics, take batteries out and use it as a regular lock. “. Seriously, after spending more than$200. That was their solution.

It’s a great app, works exactly as you would imagine and has incredibly easy setup. HOWEVER after a while it starts bugging you with pop ups for feedback every. Single. Time. You open Kevo . Wanna unlock your door? Gotta let them know if you love this app first or not. You cannot bypass it to lock or unlock your door, so you had better not hope there’s a time-sensitive emergency happening. It doesn’t even matter if your answer is yes or no, the prompts will keep coming. They don’t even ask you to leave feedback on Kevo Store or their website to make it stop. I’m only leaving this review here in hopes that it will stop because at this point I’m worried it will be a safety concern. Please this app, my answer is yes for now, but it will not be forever if you don’t stop asking me every time I open your app.

I paid $99 for a LIFETIME use to remotely control my lock through this app Plus. For about three weeks now, I have been unable to do so. this app has stayed silent on the matter. I know this is a widespread issue because this app has an Alexa skill that requires this app Plus and every review for the last several weeks says the service isn’t working. Unprofessional and unacceptable. I really hate to dog on manufactures because I love innovation but in doing so you have to keep trust with your consumers. Unless this is fixed, this is a critical failure of trust.

So I had my phone inside the house and walked out front door, instinctively locking it. Realize my phone is inside - touch keypad assuming if I locked the door I could unlock the door. Wrong. So... you can lock the door with the phone inside the house but you can’t unlock the door with the phone inside the house?
No problem, my smart watch is connected to my phone so I’ll just unlock the door from my watch. Wrong again. Kevo does not work through the smart watch.
Either disable the ability for the door to be locked when the phone is inside the house or enable it so the door can also be unlocked when the phone is inside the house. Bonus would be for Kevo to work on a smart watch.

I have a this app locks forever some time. When it works it’s great. But most the time I find myself having to open Kevo and going to the lock before it will open. Even though Kevo is in the background and in my front pocket or even in my hand, the lock will not open unless I open Kevo . This process defeats the purpose of this app and is more time consuming then just putting a key in to lock. The worst part is I have contacted this app several times about this and I have not even gotten one reply. This is why I am giving this 2 stars

Kevo back when the this app contemporary came out was amazing and I’ve had it since day 1; however, after a few updates Kevo has introduced new bugs. The worst bug being the two factor authentication. The idea behind 2FA is to use FaceID or a pin to unlock / lock the this app. It doesn’t work that way and it’s a huge security issue. If you open Kevo it just goes straight to the lock and you can unlock the front door just by touching the screen. No 2FA needed. This is just one of the inherent vulnerabilities found on Kevo . The lock is great don’t get me wrong but Kevo on the other hand isn’t. Also, just don’t take my word for it. Try it yourself. You definitely should not trust a Cybersecurity Expert in the reviews section of an app.

We have the Baldwin Evolved lock set and Kevo is inconsistent with the Bluetooth. Sometimes it is running and it works immediately but at other times Apple kills the Bluetooth from running in the background and you can sit outside your door waiting for it connect and fail in longer than the time it would take you to lock it with a key.
The other problem that they should advertise is that the Baldwin Evolved lock DOES NOT WORK WITH RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. So every couple of months you are having to recycle disposables. It’s a bummer.

There are bugs in your system that make it so I cannot lock or unlock my door on the first try. I have been left standing in the rain, in the cold, in the heat and needing to get in quickly for a myriad of reasons only to be trying to unlock or lock my door with the IPad on an iPhone 10S for at least 4 months now. I have to try 5-10 times on most occasions when it only took a mere second or two before. Please fix it.

This lock absolutely took too much time to unlock, I had to open Kevo every time, then it said “updating” for about 5 seconds before showing an open light and finally opening. It doesn't sound bad but the process took around 30-45 seconds, thats not bad until you have owned a simple combination lock. Type in a combo and be done! There is nothing easier!
Now this part is for why my father in-law loves it! He uses it for his business where he has to remotely let people in. For this, the lock is great! It can be configured to act as a remote lock and has some extra cool options.
This lock works for the business but is way to annoying for a second home. Also the price is about twice as much as a standard electronic combo lock!
Figure out what you need, it may be perfect or a total waste of time.

I just wanted to say thank you to the developers for continuing to support this wonderful device and app. I know that the support of newer phone models has been a sticking point for a lot of reviews, but, as long as we can continue using our standard issue currently supported iPhones with this lock — seamlessly — I will be a happy customer. Reliability of unlocking with my new iPhone in my pocket recently has been flakey, (have to open the this app app on phone for it to “trigger” my touch on the physical lock), but I hope that I can continue to use the lock for many more years to come before support is ultimately dropped per eventual demise of all technology things in this world.

Kevo could be a lot better, the lock takes a while to lock and unlock I’m there outside looking dumb waiting for it to lock. Also there should be like a “ check for update “ button within Kevo to update the lock. Also there’s this lock called “ latch “ they have a widget within the iPhone which does not require for Kevo to be open since its running within the widgets.

I love Kevo. I’m a married mommy of 3, and I know how important it is to know about the locks before bed. Yes, I walked past the door 300 really mea before bed and never thought to just look at it. Then my husband comes home and he unlocked the door and never locked it back; so Kevo is sooooooooo convient for the tired me who thinks at night time did I lock the door!!!!!!

This lock was the answer and compromise we needed to start our Airbnb. The fact that we can give out unlimited eKeys and delete as necessary. We don’t have to worry about guests losing or duplicating keys. Love this lock and it works awesome for my wife and I.
The bad - the scheduled keys and guest keys never work. I always have to send anytime keys without admin use. This is frustrating. Why have those options if they don’t work. Guests with newer phones can never access the lock and searches forever. I always have to hand out my key fob which I do not like. Please fix this problem.

Kevo does what it says it’s going to do. But there are waaaay too many notifications. I don’t need a notification when I turn Bluetooth off, and I don’t need a notification when I close Kevo . I know that Kevo needs to be open to use its functionality. That’s pretty much what all apps do. The only notifications that are necessary are (1) your door is unlocked and (2) your door is locked. Forcing me to deal with extra worthless notifications (and giving me no way to turn them off) is annoying.

I have had three times in the past month alone where my wife has locked up the house while I was outside working. Fortunately, it wasn’t an issue because I have this app locks and my phone is my key. It always works! And, it’s super easy to share and eKey with family members.

I had to try three times to load the lock update. It’s a step backwards! Yea it lock/unlocks beyond 12”, which it would not do prior.
However, I continue to get wrong statistics from the lock. Kevo shows it’s locked, but the green light is flashing on the door. So I close and re-open Kevo . Oh, again I have to sign in? Why? Why do I have to sign in each time I use the f**%ing app? No the status shows unlocked, and will lock the door. How is this a convenience? It would be easier to just walk to the door, check for deadbolt showing and lock the lock.
What a waste of time/money. Owned the lock now two years, it’s work now maybe 10 times.

I have the Convert lock that was easy to install and get connected. Kevo works well, but I have one request. It would eliminate one more tap if the lock of my choice would be the first screen to pop up on Kevo launch. It would make locking and unlocking just a touch faster when in a hurry.
