I am deleting DeFlockme as generally useless. Whatever the trick is to actually getting a camera reported, I haven’t figured it out and am over trying. The reasoning for DeFlockme is excellent. The utility of its use is not so much. Best luck improving.
I downloaded DeFlockme but to submit information you must create an account (like I need another login to remember) I did that through the open street site you must use. It was slow. They send you a link to confirm but the link does not work. Disappointing.
First I just want to say thank you for DeFlockme . It feels good to see people aren’t just sitting around waiting.. you know. Anyway, only reason it’s not a 5 star review, is because it’s a little confusing on how to create an account, I’d rather just do it in DeFlockme like everything else rather than some website. But again, thank you and all praise to The Most High
DeFlockme is very necessary to deal with the digital age but for some reason every time I go to use it doesn’t show any information and am unsure if it’s me or DeFlockme or connection or all the above. Would be better if the info showed up faster if possible
As a developer since 2008 I used ushahidi map pins when it started this brand of mapping. I know the pitfalls and I drive everywhere. You should not allow delete unless confirmed by several users or add a pic feature to show the camera there and any camera with a confirmed pic can not be deleted because police are deleting the flock pins in black neighborhoods. Look at small towns in NC and notice that every time you see train tracks you see no cameras on one side of the tracks. The black sides. I can’t put all the black neighborhood cameras in by myself. What is concerning is that some of these police actually live in the black neighborhood
Love this idea and it’s helpful to see where the cameras are ahead of time, when planning a trip. I can’t get notifications to work on my phone but hoping this will resolve eventually.
Thank you for watching out for concerned citizens like myself, a wonderful way to do it. I have added several cameras to my area to the best of my ability, and will continue until they are completely eradicated.
I would love to see some way to get people together and take action against these cameras through policy of course.
minority communities don’t have cameras pinned on the map even though you can physically see the setups through out these neighborhoods. The world is falling apart and “they” are still worried about us….
I downloaded DeFlockme in response to watching Mr. Rossman’s videos on the topic of these cameras. So far for a free app I am really happy about its performance. I found that my town has the flock cameras so I will do my best to get them turned off.
Let’s hope we can all make a change before we become china. Thank you to the team at deflock
Learned about this noble effort from the conversation with Rossmann at the end of the Denver livestream. I’ve since added 5 cameras in my area and learned they were already installed - city contracted with Flock some 2 years ago (to the credit of city officials, I’m impressed, or maybe surprised is the word, by their proactive approach on privacy. Transparency is an opportunity though).
So pleased to see DeFlockme has shipped and with more functionality than I expected - hats off to the Devs.
Flock “Safety” and other surveillance companies have gotten rich by ensuring “you can’t get a breath of fresh air” without the police knowing about it (that is a DIRECT QUOTE from Police Sargent Jamie Milliman who used data from a Flock camera to falsely accuse an innocent woman of theft). The DeFlock app does exactly what it says, it allows you to help map where these cameras are located to draw public attention to how out of control the surveillance state has become.
This is great. I will NOT subject myself to Flock’s system as much as possible. I’ve even added cameras in my area that were incomplete on the map. Glad DeFlockme exists!
I knew the flock cameras were getting bad but I never knew the sheer amount they have deployed. DeFlockme is doing important work to fight our oppressors!
Adding cameras as you see them is MUCH easier with DeFlockme. Hopefully this lowers the barrier to people actually mapping them.
DeFlockme is perhaps the most valuable civil rights software ever created. Restoring Americans’ freedom of movement and allowing people to attempt to protect themselves from violations of the fourth amendment.
Love DeFlockme and all the wonderful people and organizations that contribute to it constantly. We shouldn’t need this but alas we do!
Extremely accurate for my area.
Feel a lot more secure knowing there’s a way around their unconstitutional ways
Thank you to the publisher. Flock cameras are a gross invasion of privacy on American citizens. I will be doing my part to log every single camera that I see.
