this app is a platform that has great superficial features such as copy trader, leverage, social media walls. But behind it there’s a lot of lack of transparency: you don’t hold your keys in crypto unless you pay a lot, the company can take your assets at anytime (they are currently keeping my gains more than 5k euros, which now is taking a long time to get back). Is really scary when a trading platform can just take your assets at will. Beyond this the fees are the high but the worst is the SPREAD! Oh my god they rip you off with the spread. I understand that catching beginners is easy by showing kind of easy approach with copy trader. But don’t be misled, It’s not a great idea when you follow scalpers or people whom history may seem high. I’m fighting to get my money back and close eToro forever.

Their interface is clunky and leaves a lot to be desired, the selection is lacking, and the transfer system completely defeats the purpose of crypto. Assets apparently take a week to settle before they can be transferred to the wallet (according to their own FAQ), which probably takes more time than that to process, then it says it can take a week to show up in the selected account. This is the exact opposite of how crypto is supposed to operate.

Update: It’s now been a week and I still can’t transfer my crypto. Was trying to avoid the dip that’s currently happening, but because of how long they lock up your assets I’m now out a few hundred dollars I would have been able to save if this was an actual functioning app. Don’t waste your time or money. Use literally any other app

I have been bouncing around platforms since the start of the recent bull run; being new to crypto and trying to find a site i am going to settle with. I got on this app for the aspect of “copy trading” which is a good concept and well executed; so good for a low security/ long term.
But i quickly realized the sight wasnt for me when the buying rate of a stock is consistently 5-8% above the shown price ON this app. The process of withdrawaling funds is painful, with a week of inactivity on the funds needed to move to a bank. And with 20 steps to transfer funds out. It’s obvious that the sight makes it excruciatingly difficult to transfer something out. First you get a poorly designed app, make a specified wallet for the crypto, jerry rig yourself to be back in this app through the wallet hosting app. And now im at a point; multiple hours in, where i still cannot find away to transfer crypto out. Its a terrible platform if you are getting started, with high rates and wacky accessibility. Though, No potential issues with longevity besides security concern, taking in to consideration that the platform is clearly not standing on good ground cryptography wise

I opened an this app account nearly a month ago and I still cannot deposit funds in the account. After weeks of emailing customer support about the issue and them telling me I had to submit PDF bank statements showing the deposited funds from when I first funded the account (a snapshot of the account was not sufficient so I had to wait until my bank released the monthly statement) I still do not have access to make trades. It was completely okay for me to deposit the money when the account opened, but now I cannot add more nor can I take back what I have put in. This is not a good broker to use for trading cryptocurrency so don’t think that since they can spend a fortune for celebrity commercials and endorsements that they have your best interests in heart.

Been using eToro for like a week. Treasury secretary yellen said something and btc flushed 18% I add some money to buy more, hassle hassle hassle. Had to delink then re-link my bank account prior to each deposit which didn’t help my entry. Few hours for by next thing you know I’m unable to access my account because it is down ‘due to technical difficulties’. Ok maybe it’ll pass in an hour or two........ still can’t log in going on 13 hours since I first realized I couldn’t log in. Unacceptable for a financial app in 2021.

Aside from the above mentioned, eToro is:
Slow, clunky, the ‘post’/‘return’/‘search’ button gets hidden under the keyboard when writing any type of text and won’t allow me to tap it unless I make some landscape double finger drag maneuver. Feels like these defects would have almost been acceptable in 2011, but absolutely not in 2021. I feel scammed as I cannot access my deposited cash and will cash out all my chips the minute I’m able to log back on. Disappointed with this app crypto USA. I’d give it no stars if I could.

UPDATE:
eToro started working again the next day. HOWEVER, now they removed the sell button so I have no way to sell inside eToro . Cool app guys, just kidding for those who cannot pick up on the sarcasm. I just want my money back at this point so I can rid myself of this stress.

eToro comes across easy to use and reliable until you cannot get any help from customer service. They are quick to email you during verification procedures but when you don’t have all the required information on your bank statements because the bank just doesn’t have their stipulated requirements on a statement it won’t be accepted and then when you upload a utility bill with all the correct requirements it’s still not accepted. You would think that after being contacted by customer support they would put a hold on the time frame before your account gets “liquidated” being under the impression that they are busy “verifying” your profile. Your profile gets liquidated while having trades open. I’ve emailed then numerous times to which I haven't had any response. Then trying to connect to a direct chat via eToro never works because you can’t get connected to any representative. Too much automation not enough actual support.

Opened an account with them about 4 months ago. First off, they take a 5% spread on the bid and ask for their crypto trades. This is outrageous. The trading platform is not intuitively designed. You “buy” to buy a cryptocurrency (that’s not the problem), but you also “buy” to sell a position (say what?).

When you want to withdraw your money— good luck! They couldn’t make it any harder for you. Instructions are lousy. It will take 8 days to get my money back. I could understand that wait time if I was a new account. But my deposit was made many months ago. There is no reason this withdrawal should take longer than two business days.

It’s obvious these guys are not about making the best system to create loyal clients. They are about the quickest way to make a buck. There are so many better options out there!

Do a web search of people trying to withdraw funds that they deposited to this app and how much trouble they had trying to get it from this app. I didn’t do this research, opened an account and deposited money. Then, I decided to go with a different platform, transferred out my funds, and closed my account. Big mistake. Lo and behold, no money appeared in my bank. I submitted a ticket, and only then was I told that my transfer was “rejected” by my bank, and a *partial*, lower amount of it was returned to my account with no further explanation. The rep then promptly closed the ticket despite no resolution. this app’s App and Web-based site tells me that because I closed the account, I can’t access or reopen it, which means I can’t access the “returned” funds to retranser them. And, they have no Customer Service number. In order to use their Customer Service Online Chat function, you have to sign in, and this app prevents me from signing in to chat because my account is closed, and gives no other options to Chat with a rep. Given my difficulties in getting my money back and numerous similar stories online from other users, AVOID this platform. If transfer/withdraw issues are rife and so often not resolved by their CS team, how do we get our deposited funds back from this company?

I was locked out of my account for reasons I still do not know. I emailed them and within mins they replied...about a day or two they emailed me again saying they’re looking into the problem. About a week passed and received nothing. I emailed them asking them about my status. They told me to start a new account with another email. They said they would close my old account. Annoying but alright. I opened a second account and when I tried to put my personal information it said my info was already connected to another account. I was not able to move forward. I emailed support and have just been going back and forth with them ever since...I do not think my problem will be resolved anytime soon...I suggest to move onto another platform.

Giving this platform two stars because 1) eToro itself is clunky. Doesn’t quite feel like a natural app - just an extension of a browser. 2) as a user in the USA, I am having the hardest time deposit funds into my account. The first ACH transfer was successful, but subsequent transfers fail 100% of the time; both via ACH and Bank Transfer methods. My bank tells me the issue is from the this app side. 3) customer service is terrible. I have emailed them several times about issue #2, but they keep sending me a generic copy/paste email that does not address my concerns. They then close my tickets out without proper resolution. 4) minimum buy-ins are STEEP and if you ever change your mind and want to move your money out of this app, beware: there are minimums to meet in order to transfer funds to your wallet. And because depositing funds is not easy, my fear is that withdrawing funds back into my financial institution will be just as difficult. I would not recommend eToro for a new user within the USA. As soon as I figure out a way to get my money back, I’ll be moving it over to a different exchange.

I have withdraw some of the profits from this app,Now if you are into crypto this is something to look over our four first time traders now the platform on its own while the user interface is very friendly I just don’t like how customer service takes a very long time to reach you just for a question to be answered. That’s one of things I like to see this app improve, secondly I also want to trade into other commodities other than just cryptocurrency‘s however due to regulatory restrictions I’m not able to do that at all and I’d love to find out if I’m able to trade other stocks such as Tesla Apple, Oil, Gold or other ETFs.

The platform is user friendly, and the trader community is knowledgeable and friendly. There is no way to transfer crypto to a crypto wallet so you lose your crypto in currency if you want to get it off the exchange and into a more secure wallet, and fees to withdraw funds are excessive. Ripple is not available for trading, and trading lag times during trades can cost you money.

There are erroneous fair market proves for trades sometimes. For example, one crypto was listed at + double digit returns when in reality it was -14% or thereabouts. Had other traders not posted this discrepancy on the forum, people could have list a lot of money.

The alt crypto offerings are quite limited as well. I’ve never needed to contact customer support so far, so I cannot comment on its quality.

Overall, because of the transfer and withdrawal limitations, eToro lag times during trades, lack of control over your own investment, and the high withdrawal fees, I would not put large investments into this app. You do not really own the crypto you buy here, the this app exchange does and you have to make an application for withdrawal to access your own money. The utility is in the trader community, ease of use, and beginner’s practice.

I like eToro a lot, and normally no issues

How ever I am receiving promotions incorrectly as I registered during my business trips and my country. Is showing incorrectly so make sure you start registering from home, as they cannot correct it after, so my debit card is not working because my country is set incorrectly on their side as during registration I put my home country and all the documentation was for my home, had to go few back and forward for over a week to confirm my home address

Several times chart was taking to long to load, specially when you switch between charts, some times it would show “old” chart of EuRCaD instead of USDCHF, had to restart eToro , app loads fast so it’s not an issue, it’s just annoying
And some times it would display positions that I’ve closed a few transactions ago, you have to restart app to see the actual positions.

For Customer Support -1* - takes to long to receive simple question reply, and they cannot fix most of the issues, please empower your agents to take decisions not wait for their managers to say yes or no

So. I want to preface my review by stating that I’m not an investment expert or crypto expert by any means. I work in construction. So take my opinion lightly.

Before you instal and choose this app as your platform here are some drawbacks to note:
They use spreads, I’m fairly certain every crypto trading app uses them or some kind of commission system. So be aware of the price you purchase at versus the actual price of the crypto.
Another drawback for me was having my card declined. I just updated so this may have changed but the automated response from this app was to “check with my bank” or something along those lines. I did. That wasn’t the problem. So I emailed this app for some support in resolving the issue… nothing.

I’m not telling you to not get this app. Just shop around and look at some other apps. If you’re like me an average guy with maybe $1500 to invest tops, you’ll want to find the best bang for your buck. And know that you’re going to need more than a grand to make any respectable or life changing gains. That’s how this game works, it’s a long game for people with low income and a short game for big money playas

I do believe this app is a good exchange for I have been using it for a month now. There are some sketchy things I’d like to address about eToro though. I believe they are stealing information from your other exchanges that you use. Sometimes when I open eToro this app automatically copied and pasted things I’ve had on my clipboard whenever I open eToro which I find really strange. Sometimes they’ll even copy things from uphold and ledger if I was on the apps before opening the this app app. Just putting this out there in case something shady happens with this app and users funds. I looked on the internet for similar situations and not a lot of people are talking about this just a few Reddit posts.

I like eToro but sometime it works kimd of funny or is not clear where are some stuff, i use a lot of other crypto brokers, like gemeini, blockfy, and gemini and the thing that all of them have something in common. All of them have good, reliable and simple platform easy to use to any costumer. The thing that actually drive me this app is the community, the alerts and the simulated portfolio to try new investing strategies. But if i will ever place great part of my crypto portfolio on this platform, first it needs some work.

I have only had eToro for a few days and it is good and easy to use. It could use some adjustments like better security. There should be an option to always ask for Face ID or passcode when opening app.
You also have to understand that there are two prices for crypto, a selling price and a buying price. So the price you see isn’t always what you are going to pay for or receive. It’s like that with most cryptos but if you are new it can be a little confusing. No fees unless you place an order vs open market buying and selling.
Overall happy so far...

I’ve tried other platforms, and this app offers options many others don’t. The “copy” function is a great way to both learn about crypto and to invest in a way that is a bit less risky (but remember there is still significant risk!). The ability to build a virtual portfolio is also a nice way to learn and figure out where to put your money before committing to a trade. There are fees, so think about that before trading too often or making frequent withdrawals. As usual with crypto, your best bet is to be careful where you invest, and don’t react to either fear or greed as things go up and down. If you copy successful traders and stay patient, you can make money over the long term (but again, remember there are risks!!).

I have been using this app for a few weeks now. After a initial issue was addressed I am completely happy with eToro. There was a hiccup concerning the cryptocurrency ADA as apparently it was a new offering. The attention to the concerns and were quickly addressed and issues evaporated. I heartily can recommend this application and the exchange.

Third review and I just closed my first cryptocurrencies... I recommend using the simulation to get the hang of the system. I looked at it...played with it for a few minutes and let it run in the background but did not take full advantage of being able to go through the motions and learn the functions properly. LOL... it was irrational of me and I felt stupid... but everything worked out. It could have been easier and potentially better though. I would not have made a buy when trying to sell. LOL

Developers, perhaps you could shed some light on the situation for new users and explain why there are more than a handful of reviews complaining about their funds not being able to be withdrawn. I’ve wanted a few friends to use eToro and they see some of the bad review, (even though there are more good ones,) and say that I’m crazy to use an app when there are more complaints about funds unavailability than there should be. Is it perhaps because US Customers are ignoring the rules and signing up anyway, and in order to stay compliant, is it a bit of a process then to get their money back after they violated rules?

DO NOT SIGN UP! After submitting all my documents for verification, and been approved by this app as a verified user, I stayed watching how the news goes with cryptocurrencies, how was the environment with this services and taking my time to invest if I get enough good feeling. Unfortunately... Today, I just made a comment in someone’s post about the lowest value BTC could get (as it’s dropping) and few hours later, this app team blocked my account with no notice. This action makes me thing this people are not serious, and I’m glad I didn’t fund any money. App Store should ban this people as also there are many complains into eToro and in the reviews. Avoid this app!

At first I thought this was going to be great I invested in what I wanted to. But not I can’t invest or sell anything it won’t even let me connect to my bank. At first it was nice I got some friends into for the referral I never received any money for the referral and every purchase is denied when I clearly had money in both accounts. Would be a great app if it was more accessible and easier but it’s a waist of time and I probably won’t be able to get my money out

Cheats your money by trigger SL early especially during high volatility. They move spreads higher so that they will try to get more money from you and ensure that you close with a loss. It is this app best interest to make you lose. Since they have exposure to all your information about your trade SL and TP, they would take counter positions in your order just to trigger your SL. Stay far away.

Also, it feels like a scam , invested my funds into it ! Everything was instantaneous and when I needed my money back , they refused to return it back , so many days went by but no communication and no reply is to why the money is not returned . Also there is no customer support or Complaint Service ! It’s just a fraud I think to lure people to lose their money into it !

Everything is fine until you start putting or withdrawing funds, you will not get your money and they provide fake documents after over-charging you for every transaction. No answers, No replies to SMS, No responses to emails, Calls always rejected, they don’t call you and say (we’ve tried but ur phone is off) so they wont lose international call charges and force you to call them (cuz you need them “ur money”), No cooperation, they purposely force you to fill strange/personalized forms (which includes security infos or UNRELATED things) “in hope” that you wont accept or you refuse, then they legally take ur money or close account and money lost .. etc

Remember; Apple is not responsible if you submit critical personal info or security issues to third parties.

Basically, they are after your shoes 24/7 (via phone, email, sms) and feel importance .. until they get your money funds IN account; then .. 180 degrees ZERO communication and game started.

this app... if you invest less than $500 they hold your currency for a MONTH.
not to mention all the fees that come with moving anything around. Impossible to get customer service, and no phone number. I’m trying to change my phone number for 2 Factor Authentication so I can send my bitcoin, there is no option for changing this. Submitted a ticket, it’s been a day, no response still.

How is anyone supposed to do any money management or make money off eToro given it freezes all the time? You call this an app? Functionality and usability is absolutely of no use if you can't guarantee app performance! Seriously wasteful!

More so, each time you update eToro for bug fixes, there is actually more bugs than you have fixed!! Figure it out.

eToro is easy to use, has a lot of information, and features that would not be available for someone just getting a wallet and buying bitcoin. I have learned a lot. The virtual portfolio is an awesome idea; it allowed me to gain some confidence both in my judgement and functionality of eToro before depositing my own money. It’s not for everyone, and certainly not necessary for experienced traders, but for someone who is both curious and studious, it is an excellent app.

In my opinion this app is the best brokerage app i have ever used. Fees are pretty low, i can easily deposit and withdraw my funds. It has an advantageous feature"Copy People". The platform is user-friendly and till now i did not experience any kind of troubles or problems with this app, by contrast to other brokers. this app is the best.

Greater and faster service and transfer of funds unlike Coinbase which I have been having issues with always! My account was blocked for 7 days and it still is and I have no idea why!

I can’t thank the team at this app enough. Had deposit issues with my financial institution and the customer service team was right on it. We had the issue resolved in 72 hrs. Great response and timely feedback and turn around!

So far I’m happy. Easy to use and you can copy other peoples trades, and even a virtual portfolio is available so you can test the waters. Question, is this only for crypto? Because I see regular stocks however I cannot purchase those?

I tried singing up on other Bitcoin sites. One rejected me without explanation when I uploaded my ID and selfie. this app took all my information, verified me and I put in my first two orders within an hour. I like eToro and used it to get everything set up. What a difference and a delight!
