I’ll give OneThing this: it’s decently effective at breaking scrolling and social media habits, but it has a really huge flaw. Whenever OneThing , even if it’s wrong, detects you’re “lying” and not actually doing your daily task, it throws unnecessarily disrespectful insults at you. A few days ago, I had taken a picture of myself to demonstrate the task I was doing, and it had told me I was incorrect. That’s fine, but then it followed with insulting my appearance and even poked fun at certain facial features I had which apparently, according it’s commentary, made me look like “a mess.” Today, I took a picture of a new productivity calendar I had set up for myself to help with organizing my side hustle, under the category “work on business.” Not only did it say I was lying, which I wasn’t, but it also starting making fun of the information I had on my calendar and began mock the goals I had down in a very derogatory way.
If you want an app to break scrolling habits, go find another because this one will only insult you, even if the AI itself, not you, produces a false negative.
