New update big problem but fixed with re-install

Update:
I removed and then re-installed MommyMeds and it works well again. So thankful as I use this very frequently.
This is my “go to” app for pregnancy and breastfeeding safety and patient counseling. Now MommyMeds doesn’t work at all. Nothing loads and I have been unable to use it. Very frustrating. Please fix it.

Design, missing some data

Overall design is a little cumbersome to utilize. There isn’t much data on certain medications in MommyMeds despite there being tons of studies on their use in pregnancy. So I end up wading through a bunch of PubMed articles despite buying MommyMeds. Also, it is sometimes difficult to search for meds- like propranolol (very commonly used) isn’t even on there. A little weird. It wasn’t expensive to buy, I just don’t find it useful and will instead be using Epocrates or PubMed.

Keep getting an error while trying to use

Anytime I click on something I get an error saying “internet connection error. Unable to detect an internet connection. Verify you are connected to the internet and try again.” Even though I am connected to the internet. I tried my wifi and my phones cellular data and keep getting this message. I pay for MommyMeds every year and haven’t had this happen before. Is there a known way to fix this error?

Trusted

Recommended by my lactation consultants as a trusted resource for medication safety. Great for peace of mind during pregnancy and breastfeeding, when googling is inconclusive and contradictory. I gladly paid the $3.99 subscription cost to help fund more research. Thank you for creating MommyMeds!

MommyMeds

Great app for first time moms ! Helps a lot with what and what NOT to take while breastfeeding! Good info and easy to search !

By

Not working and paid for subscription

MommyMeds is not working for me. I keeping getting a message “internet connection error.” I tried turning my wifi off and back on and still not working. I tried deleting and redownloading and now it won’t even let me log in—I get the same error message.

Must-have app!

I also wish I'd downloaded this sooner- so convenient, and great comfort knowing the ratings come from a great research group. Much more trustworthy (and easy) than doing your own internet searches about safety. Also, there's a lot of healthcare providers who simply don't know if medications are safe, so they just tell you to "pump and dump" or even quit breastfeeding when neither is required for baby's safety and makes breastfeeding a greater challenge for us moms. Great resource, easy to use and understand, highly recommend!

No explanations

Feel like I’m just as confused and without answers as I was before paying for MommyMeds. I can’t figure out what the icons and L’s mean to try and make an educated decision.

Paid and doesn’t work

I paid for a year subscription and it won’t allow me to create an account. Ive deleted MommyMeds , re-downloaded and it still won’t work. Ive reached out to support for assistance and never received a reply.

Doesn’t work

I’m currently sick and pumping while my sim is in the NICU. I was referred to MommyMeds by my levitation consultant at the hospital. It doesn’t work. I’ve searched up DayQuil and NyQuil to see if I can take it while pumping. I clicked on the med and nothing came up.

MommyMeds is a Great Investment

Being pregnant for the first time is scary enough without having to worry about if your medicine is safe to take or not. I trust this app to give me the most recent information regarding the safety various medications.

I love that this app is also customizable based on the trimester of pregnancy. By using MommyMeds I learned that Ibuprofen can cause birth defects if used during pregnancy but may be safe for use by a breastfeeding mother after the baby is born. This is invaluable information that all mothers need to have access to!

Wish I'd found it sooner

I've been nursing babies for 4 years straight. Trying to figure out if I could take a med in the wee hours I bought MommyMeds and wish I had known about it sooner. I normally call my ped to verify meds I take which works well, but not after hours and a lot of other sites/apps do not have the data base this site has as well as the simplicity of figuring out safety. Dr. Hale is THE go-to in this field and knowing MommyMeds is based off his research makes it easy for me to trust.

New 3.0 update

Since my app has updated, it does not work! Anytime I click on anything, it does nothing except stay on the main page. The previous version was quick, reliable, and easy to get information on medications. Now MommyMeds is useless! I hope they fix it soon!

By

Completely useless

Gives no useful information on any meds and horrible, time consuming interface. All users need is a list or safe medications to take while pregnant. Instead MommyMeds lists all medications with no quick filter for safe or unsafe so you have to read through every one. Hello, that’s the same thing as the internet. Even after clinking a bunch of them, you find 99% tell you nothing useful. They might have some noncommittal label like “no way to rule out harm to fetus”. I got MommyMeds for actual answers and they are so scared of saying the wrong thing that it says nothing. No value at all in MommyMeds.

By

Delete the app & reinstall

After the most recent update, MommyMeds no longer works. I cannot check any medications or anything at all. I’ll update my review if this is ever fixed but for now don’t downloaded MommyMeds

Update! If you delete and reinstall MommyMeds it works better than ever!

Excellent research based app

As a doctor I field questions constantly about the safety of various drugs during pregnancy and breast-feeding. I often refer patients to look at InfantRisk and Motherrisk's website but it's not the easiest for simple searches. MommyMeds puts the same database of info in an easy to find and understand format. Highly recommended!

Helpful for dads

My wife made me buy MommyMeds, and it came in handy the first time she sent me to the store for pain medicine. As a dad who did not know much about pregnancy, MommyMeds put me at ease when purchasing medication for my wife. I highly recommend!

Very frustrating experience; glitch on top of glitch

Tried to buy MommyMeds at the recommendation of a co-worker. (We work in lactation services) i was never able to successfully download it after being forced into also purchasing infant risk subscription. I was instructed to then go set up an account which i was unable to do. I have no idea if or how many times i may have been charged for this. I cannot use it and am working to try to get it removed and my money back.

Not very user friendly

Overall not a very user friendly app.

I’m breastfeeding and don’t care if something safe for pregnancy or not, but when I go to my bookmarked drugs, it shows one icon of whether it’s safe in the first trimester or not. So in my bookmarks, I’ve got a big red X next to some of my drugs that are safe for breastfeeding.

MommyMeds doesn’t take up the full screen on my iPhone. Makes me feel like this is a really old app that hasn’t been updated since the new iPhones. I don’t want an app that’s never updating to tell me what’s safe for my baby.

If you accidentally open the camera to scan, it won’t let you go back so you’ve gotta shut down the whole app.

By

needs an update

While I find MommyMeds very useful, it crashes often, endlessly loads and at time says it doesn't have a common drug in its database. I'll try to look it up later and it will suddenly be there. Looks like the last update was 9 months ago and I really think it could use some work!

By

Lacking detail

I’m a Lactation Counselor and MommyMeds shows risk factors but does not clarify some types of risks. Drug safety is shown in regards to the safety of the breastfeeding infant however it is known that allergy medications and many cold and flu medications temporarily dry out a mothers milk supply. It is rather important information for mothers to know this! Don’t you think? If a mother has the flu and takes medicine and on top of fighting her illness she can’t feed her crying baby! Could you imagine the stress and harm this causes! This is careless.

A Mom Essential

MommyMeds has been amazing through my TEN years of nursing and pregnancy! I recommend it every new mom. The hotline has also been helpful at some very stressful times.

My wife still can’t log in.

She’s emailed support and clicked forget password many times. Nobody responds to her emails and she doesn’t get an email. She’s checked every folder and searched by keywords. Nothing. I want a refund if we can’t get access. This is ridiculous.

By

Can’t reset password

I’ve tried 10 plus times to get a password reset sent to my email. never comes. i use MommyMeds for school and personal use so it’s really frustrating i paid for a year and i can’t access it.

By

Made my card get blocked for fraud

Said they only wanted 2 something for research purposes but then tried to charge my card $64 causing it to block due to fraudulent activity and now I have to wait 2 weeks for a new card.

By

It’s not actually free

Free download but says it costs 3.99 as soon as you open MommyMeds . Make it cost 3.99 to begin with then instead of making it seem free when it isn’t. False advertising.

By

Ehh

Hasn’t been super helpful yet as most medications are listed as “unknown risk”. Could have stuck with Google instead of paying the $4.

By

Migraine meds

Don’t waste your money. Every possible option says they don’t know the risk. I’m mad I wasted my money on MommyMeds. Disappointed.

By

Highly disappointed

I downloaded MommyMeds to hopefully consolidate all of my meds/vitamins/supplements to make sure everything was within safe range for pregnancy. MommyMeds practically has zero information. Wasted $4.99 on MommyMeds because you had to pay before you could use it. It should at least have a free trial before purchasing so one could see what they were buying before actually buying it.

By

App Not Funtional

I purchased MommyMeds by recommendation of a website. Mind you, MommyMeds is not free and it is almost totally un-usable. It glitches more times than not, you can’t find what your looking for, the buttons on the top and bottom of the screen are not accessible as they run off the page, so it was a complete waste of a purchase and subscription. Save yourself the time and headache and go to a different app.

By

Very poor database

I tried to search a dozen of medications and they all come back as no data, unknown. Well, that certainly does not help. I think for a paid app the database would be better

By

Amazing App

Incredible app to look up medications that are safe for pregnancy and lactation

By

Unable to access app and paid for subscription

I bought this as I’m pregnant and sick and trying to see what I can safely take. I registered and paid for the subscription just for me to get an error message saying I didn’t put in an email or password which I did as you have to, to register. I got an email saying I subscribed but everytime I go to log in it says there’s no account with my email that exists…. Very confused and disappointed
