Next Stop Paris – RATP Reviews

There are so many features of NextStopParis that blow away all the others! My favorite is the ability to put in a tourist site like the Eiffel Tower and NextStopParis will tell you exactly what Metro lines to take with easy to follow, step-by-step guides through the Metro. Other apps have cumbersome advertisements or only list the Metro station names, not tourist sites nearby. You can also get information about tourist sites and download off-line maps. Amazing free app!

My husband and I just got back from Paris and NextStopParis saved us. We didn’t get lost on the Metro one single time. It is amazing not only in showing you which routes to use but also which directions you should be facing and how long you should be walking to get to your destination. It was especially great in that you don’t need WiFi to access the maps.

Give NextStopParis a chance, it may seem confusing but once you understand it makes Paris very easy to travel around. Just add the destination and NextStopParis will give you directions. It’s perfect!!! Just make sure before you get onto the metro you verify direction of the trains next stops, NextStopParis will tell you which way to go.

You can use NextStopParis online or offline to plot your travel around the city. The Metro is designed so you never take more than two trains to get anywhere, and NextStopParis shows you exactly which and in which directions. It’s a snap to use!

As a novice international traveler who doesn't speak French, I owe an amazing Paris vacation to NextStopParis. Not bugs, no upgrades needed, works fully like a charm. The offline features - especially the metro guidance - helped me navigate the city like a long time resident. I would strongly recommend to anyone who visits Paris.

Stayed in Paris for the first time and NextStopParis saved us from getting lost. Worked amazingly even underground in the subway. Enjoyed traveling via train to all the known landmarks and they have lots of info regarding Paris!

NextStopParis was great, made travel around the city a breeze, made me navigate like a local. Highly recommend to anyone traveling in Paris. Bravo to these app developers.

I have both the Next Stop Paris app and the RATP app. I liked the RATP app better. The Next Stop Paris app gives you info about tours, attractions and events. All I needed was info on the transportation - metro, buses, trains so the RATP app worked for my needs. If you want more info about happenings in Paris, Next Stop Paris is a good app for that!

Great and very useful app

We were late for a dinner reservation and found that the stop presented by NextStopParis has been closed since 2017. Luckily the taxi rank was just outside the station. Deleting NextStopParis now.

Takes quite q bit of effort to figure out how to use this ap. Ok if you wish to put in some effort.

Searches result in bad routes. Better off using regular RATP APP or even google maps does a better job of routing you on Metro/ Bus etc from your location to destination.

If you plan to travel a lot by Metro in Paris, NextStopParis is essential. You can search a couple ways; by the attraction you're heading too, it will direct you to the closest Metro station and direct you to the one closest to the place, or from one station to another if you know which stations you are leaving from and going to. It gives you the option for the fastest route or the route with the least stops. It tells you which direction to take so there's no confusion. We had a three-day Paris Visite pass which was great. We didn't have to stop to buy a ticket each time. The Metro & RER trains really is the best way to get around. The only caution I have is to try to avoid the Metro during rush hour. It's extremely crowded and you may have to wait for a couple trains to go by until you can find one you can fit into. This is also a prime time for pick-pockets. Loved NextStopParis and can't wait to use it again on my trip next month.

I dl'd several apps, including RATP, and this is the best. It's easy and accurate, and I've used it for my last two visits. It particularly helps when you have to make one or two transfers.
The only thing to know is, it doesn't know 'regular' things like businesses, shops, etc. It only knows monuments and tourist attractions.
But that is no impediment, because it knows all the various metro options. If you're not visiting an attraction (as I mostly was not), just use maps to locate the metro stop nearest your desired location and plug it in to NextStopParis . There were definitely times I would have been literally lost without it!

Recently used this in Paris. My biggest problem when learning a new city's subway is figuring out which direction to take on a particular line. NextStopParis is great for that, it clearly tells you what line to get on, and the direction to take. But it is fundamentally broken, where I was unable to use it for the majority of my time in Paris. My hotel was right by RER C line, which is closed for construction. I know, because NextStopParis helpfully gave me a popup telling me it was closed. But when I enter in anything to/from the hotel, the directions were still dependent on RER C. There is no option here for alternate routes. It would be nice if real time closures were programmed into the logic. Afterall, NextStopParis already knows about them, since they tell me on a popup screen! Or give multiple route options so I can plan around my closed line.

NextStopParis was incredibly helpful for navigating the metro, very accurate in showing you the station to go to (need google maps to find the station though) and then excellent at picking the best route. Highly recommend.

For the Developer: the ad thing had problems and wouldn't load right so the ad overlay would be there, but blank so you couldn't manipulate the map, but didn't know why, until it went away. I would recommend figuring out a better way to implement ads for the users not upgrading to the premium version.

This is the best app I have found for navigating complex cities such as Paris. The secret is the download of an offline map that works with the apps GPS. I didn't have data service on my iPhone but had roaming phone service with my UK sim and NextStopParis worked brilliantly pin pointing my position on the offline map. NextStopParis gave us the confidence to explore areas of the city which we were unfamiliar and allowed us to find restaurants outside the usual areas. Metro and ReR stations are clearly shown on the maps so navigating was easy. The built in journey planner made this our GoTo app!

It's simple. Just write the name of the station in front of you and then write the name of the place that you want to go, it doesn't matter if you don't know the name of the station in that place. You need a bus, transport to airport, it's the same, just simple, and giving to you extra information like time of schedule made it. For me was and great experience, moving throw Paris like a local. And the best: is free and works totally offline. I really recommend you.

I went to Paris after downloading NextStopParis. Even without wifi, NextStopParis worked to navigate me from wherever I was to where I was headed. Because of the accuracy, I became in charge of every commute for our 10-day trip. I will use it the next time I go and have it on my phone now for practice. I recommend this to anyone, especially travelers who may be going alone. You'll feel like a Parisian just know the trains stop running at 12:30AM!!!!
