Today is Thursday April 6th. The 27th day of Paremhotep 1- “But as for me, when they were sick” this part is missing in the English reading. 2- Also and more significant, is someone translating the Arabic into English? Or the English is taking verbatim from King James Bible? The Psalm should read “and my prayer returned into my own bosom” 3- respectfully, we must not do our own translation from Arabic to English whether we agree or disagree with King James Version. We should not leave it up to individual to “wordsmith” because they don’t like certain words. I hope and pray that some higher up authority can look into this issue. Thank you.. As an overall concept it is well set and nice navigation.
As for the translations they are subpar and very awkward. The translations show that translator(s) utilize a word by word and literal translation, rather than a more complete format. There is a very limited use of vocabulary and a utilization of the Arabic as a main source.
The Agbeya prayers are very difficult for congregational oral rendition. The Synaxarium, as in all known English types, are childish. I can give hundreds of examples but the Egyptian thing to say is: “it’s better than nothing”. I’m glad that some ridiculous renderings such as the Advent Ps 150 refrain have been removed. Can we now fix the Easter time refrain for the Ps 150 as “Christ IS Risen” not “Christ has Risen”.

This is a good app that brings together so many of the services of the church in one place. It could be improved A LOT if the translation of the Bible is NKJV not just for the Bible portion of CopticReader but also for the readings in the liturgies, Pascha, etc. The translation used is often confusing and the words are often not the correct translation. Prime example is this reading from the Psalm of the ninth hour of Tuesday eve of the Pascha, which reads: Save me from the lion’s mouth, my humiliation from the horns of the unicorns. Unicorns???

I like CopticReader a lot but the text is to small to see or read and in the other hand I don’t need 3 languages in the Same page as personal use and also I don’t know if it is possible to ad a bookmark to the pages so it make it easy for us to remember where did we stop reading in the Bible part ..... thank you and my God reward your work

CopticReader is an absolutely amazing undertaking but.....Unicorns are mythical fairytale creatures and have no place in the Bible or Agpeya because our faith is not mythical. Please fix as soon as possible. Why are the psalms worded in such poor English. My adult sons do not read it at all because the language doesn't make sense! Please use one of the known accepted translations by the church. This is vital. I hope someone reads these reviews because there is no other way to get our voices to you.

Very nice app. But the font got very small when I made the last update. I wish you can give options for changing the font to give some convenience to different users. The other thing is that I wish I can bookmark my reading in the bible cause usually I forgot where I stop the day before. I wish you can add an option for shading verses in the bible just like in hard bibles. Otherwise i love it and am using it everyday.

The team has done a great job in organizing everything in CopticReader especially with all the content I am very impressed. The only problem is in the annual commemorations in the settings the saints and angels could be organized a bit better. They could make it in alphabetical order, but right now it is very hard to find which saint or Pope or angel you were trying to find. Overall though, a very good app.

Great resource. No ads, no crazy translations, just straight Bible text. Use it daily for quick reference. My only wish is of I could copy text. It would make things easier please. God Bless your work in His behalf

Can you please give more options rather than the white text on back background in the slide show
Also, if possible can CopticReader change orientation with the position of the phone or tablet

CopticReader is perfect. I love how it has translations and how it even has liturgies other than the Bible. I noticed CopticReader because my church was using it so I decided to use it. Now when I don't have my Bible with me i can just open up CopticReader. God bless to whoever made this!

The Coptic Community is very blessed to have the producers and contributors to these apps. They realized it was more than an app, and a way for Copts to get closer to God and get rid of a lot of bad things in life. On top of this, CopticReader is very easy to use, and includes every hymn you can think of.

CopticReader is the best app for all readings and prayers. CopticReader would be flawless if it had a search bar to reach certain readings without having to scroll through so many different readings. A search bar is definitely needed.

Thank you for the Coptic reader app. I always use it at home and at the church and I find that the church is using it also during the liturgy so everyone can follow through the screens. It's amazing during the Holy pascha week also.

This application is great, but it must be free because the benefit from it is greater than money and some people may not have the money to get it and these people are poor and therefore if it is possible to limit the payment to the people who are able to pay only.

Coptic reader has to opened many doors for us to be able to praise god and make churches in our own homes amidst the rona. I am very thankful for the creators of CopticReader and may god bless them! The only recommendation I would have is to translate CopticReader to more languages and be able to spread CopticReader to be more international

This application is doing a great job in putting all the hymns and prayers together in one place. It’s a great way to keep our Coptic orthodox hymns and heritage. Me and most of the people I know use CopticReader in our daily readings as well as to teach hymns and bible to kids and youth. I wish that the operators of CopticReader continue working and improving CopticReader .

CopticReader is amazing in all aspects and you guys are doing all the needed updates sometimes before even the user feel it needed.
May God rewards all your efforts and services.
The only issue I have that with CopticReader only my iPad screen flips backwards, not sure why
If this is something on CopticReader settings and can be fixed , that will be awesome

Hello, thank you for all the great efforts in keeping CopticReader updated. Please consider filling in the Pope’s name along with the other 2 Popes to avoid the confusion of most deacons in remembering the names. The Metropolitan/Bishop can be left blank to be filled based on the diocese. In the event where the Pope’s seat is empty, your team updates things quickly, so it can be changed when time is due. I personally Love Coptic reader it is the best app you can possibly use for any Coptic Orthodox Church it is new king James version there’s so many settings you can do and they have adjusted it so much it is now so good. I just have one request can you make an actual reader for the Bible I know it will be hard for the liturgy to do because there’s so many tunes and hymns but can you please do the Bible if there it is possible

It is easy to navigate. Very complete app. It is amazing to have all church’s prayers book in one app. I use it daily at home. I use it at church often, for example during Pascha week, I didn’t have to carry my big traditional Pascha book. It is a must to have for every Copt. You can easily access your agpeya and your bible (without the need for internet connection) during your breaks, during using public transportation or during anytime you’re waiting in line or for something else.

I love CopticReader so much and how easy it is to use but I think the responses for bishops present during the gospel are slightly mixed-up. As well as dogmatically the way the litany of the departed is setup is incorrect. Some prophecies are missing complete during Holy Week as well as major communion hymns and traditional songs are missing but new songs are present instead.

Coptic Reader is a great tool and has all the things that a Coptic orthodox needs. The only suggestion I would make is to have people make accounts that remember them. That way one doesn’t have to purchase liturgies and midnight prayer every time he/she gets a new device.

It’s a very good app but The kiahk melody “I Praise The Virgin” needs to match what we pray in any other church around the world. I looked into so many psalmodies from different sources from egypt to Canada and didn’t find what you have on CopticReader. Please do us a favor and fix it, I even can send you the right one Arabic and English. Thanks

I love CopticReader because I travel a lot and the connection could be a challenge in certain areas!! CopticReader works great no matter what!!
I love the index and the categories!! We are starting a new church and I don’t have to worry about carrying books every time I have my tablet!! May God Bless all the servants who put it together 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I absolutely love CopticReader and it is the only one I use. But for the Bible I wish I could highlight my favorite verses. I wish I could book mark where I stopped reading. I wish I could keep log of my readings. It is done in other apps that I’m not in favor of but this one being my favorite I’m hoping this can be done. Thanks to all who work on it. One thing though: would you mind putting the saints (under “Index”) in alphabetical order? Navigating the saint I would like is confusing sometimes

What a great App that figures out the Coptic calendar and reconcile all the feasts and church occasions. May God reward all those who invented this work and made our lives easy. It is used all over the Coptic churches and not only in the Southern Diocese.

I love that the design has stayed consistent. It’s a straightforward interface and the word spacing and formatting is excellent. I am glad that Coptic Reader has innovated/been updated in meaningful ways and not with flashy designs that do not improve readability or navigation!

Thank you soooo much for creating CopticReader for all of us. This is a life saver if you don’t have a bible plus it is easier to use so you find what you need faster. And there is so much more to this amazing app that is just mind blowing and amazing.
