I downloaded a bible study book, and the only way to open it was with this reader app. While the website says other sites allow you to open/read, this is incorrect. Problems: 1) when I attempt to highlight a section, it DELETES the text. No way to get it back. There is no ‘delete’ feature so this is a mystery. 2) the TEXT feature does not work. At all. 3) touching various chapters in the book does not always take you to that location. 4) no way to communicate with anyone at Lifeway about a refund; just an online blog type of similar questions. There is a live chat feature which does not work on the weekends. :( So I now have a partial book, with the sections that are important to me deleted. I see why LifeWayReader has a 2.7 overall star rating.

LifeWayReader will work for about a week and then it will run into some issue where it won’t work and there is no support. No help button no troubleshooting nothing. I enjoyed LifeWayReader when it worked. Most of the problems lie in texts that have imbedded videos. It will work until a certain point and the. It will tell you that it is preparing videos and will just lock up and freeze. It thought in the beginning it was my internet connection. I have a T1 at work and it still does it there. No thanks I will move on to something somebody actually supports. Not a very good Christian witness if you ask me. Shouldn’t do something if your not going to play full out in his name. Such a shame it would be a nice app.

As a student with Liberty University there's a lot of my required reading that's electronic through Lifeway. While it hasn't crashed on me, LifeWayReader is jerky as I scroll through the reading making it easy to lose my place. Every time I have to move the "page" it delays then jumps. As a student, I need to maximize my reading time and this slows me down when I'm constantly having to readjust where the words are. I wish I had the option to open these books in the Kindle or iBooks apps for smoother reading. Lifeway, please make that an option if you're not going to improve LifeWayReader !

Although I love Lifeway’s content, LifeWayReader needs a lot of work. It crashes almost every day when I open it. Sometimes it takes four times opening it before it stays open. I also have tried to assign the default Bible version and every time I try to use it LifeWayReader tells me that I haven’t chosen a default.

With all the wonderful things that Lifeway has to offer, I think they need to spend some time and invest some money in making LifeWayReader better if they are going to sell their e-books this way.

I hesitated to buy my bible study book as an ebook. I travel abroad and try to keep up with my group while away so I thought an ebook would help me to have to pack less. Unfortunately, most of the time I cannot open LifeWayReader . When I can open LifeWayReader the notes I want to add are like a comment on a word file, you have to open it to see what it says it’s not right there where you would have written it down in a paper book. It is also very difficult to get the notes to come up where you want them in the text. Please either fix LifeWayReader or allow the books to be used in a better program like Apple Books or Kindle.

Just purchased my first book for this reader. As promised it was already in my library when I entered the reader. Just clicked on it and it opened up. Went to the table of contents, selected the first session, took me right to it, selected the back button, took me back to TOC. Typed in response in the comments box, perfect, highlighted some text, worked great!!! LifeWayReader gets a thumbs up from me so far. Great job guys!!!

I try to do everything electronic but LifeWayReader makes me regret not buying the paper version. Just no thought put into in to be able to fill in answers within the study. You can add notes within the page but you can't see what you wrote unless you click on the little icon showing there is a note. The links to the reference materials in the book I purchased just keep going to the cover page. The links to the Bible passages would be a nice touch but they are not formatted properly which makes them difficult to read.

I don’t usually download apps with three stars or less but apparently that’s the only way I can view my ebook. Already. It a fan of that concept. I thought I’d be emailed an access link that will enable me to add to my Kindle app or Apple Books or something. But I can’t. So I thought to myself maybe it’s not that bad. But it is, I can’t even view the book! Once I tap the book I get a blank page! Not ok. I’m not sure the last time LifeWayReader had an update but please jump on this ASAP. I’d like to view my purchase. More so I’d like to view it in my Kindle.

I am enjoying the study but finding LifeWayReader frustrating. LifeWayReader is far inferior to other apps I use to read books. It does not scroll smoothly and at times will jump back to the beginning of the chapter. I’m sure I am doing something to trigger this, but I don’t know what.

Worse, when I highlight something, the section I highlighted along with another line or two disappear. I have figured out if I quit LifeWayReader and restart it the text is back, but this is frustrating.

Bought the ebook for Bible study because I travel a lot and an ebook generally is easier. To with LifeWayReader. I’m so disappointed at the fact that all the ebooks are just lazily put together. No page numbers and half of the workbook part doesn’t flow or has additional text you cannot remove. I haven’t even tried to highlight. I’m so lost during Bible study group because they always quote page numbers!

Purchased 2 ebooks and enjoying them very much. However there are times when a page will not advance to the next one unless I exit and reopen LifeWayReader . And when I open a book, it doesn’t open where I left off, it takes me back to beginning. Thankfully the bookmarks work, so that is of some help.
Please update this system as I plan to purchase more books. Thanks so much and God bless.

So far so good. Have not had long but so glad to be able to download Leader Guide. Use when out of town and will probably continue to purchase every quarter: Like the ability to click to get reference verses. Very helpful and look forward to using for more study options. Thank you.

The only reason that I use LifeWayReader is because I am vision impaired, otherwise I would use the large print hard copy. I am presently trying to get my Bible Studies for Life to download to LifeWayReader , without success I might add. I think the process changes with every order. I think that you should have the opportunity to have an easier order system for the vision impaired. I get my audio books from BARD. How about offering your study guides there?

Scripture that is displayed through hyperlinks have references embedded that make reading difficult, might as well not have them, because I use another app to read the scriptures from the lessons for easier reading. Also, doesn’t allow copy and paste feature to be able to copy points into another document to prepare outlines and additional note to prepare as the small group leader, no other app that I use has this level of restrictions. Lifeway needs to encourage collaboration and not restrict it.

Not only is the reader slow, hard to use, and prone to crashing, the ebooks themselves are ugly. They replace beautiful formatting with the most basic of fonts, arranged in a hard-to-read manner. Also, if it’s a workbook, the only way to fill in blanks is make a separate note (assuming that doesn’t crash LifeWayReader ) that blocks a good portion of the screen and doesn’t include the actual text. The only saving grace is that Lifeway sent me the physical book when I called for no additional charge except shipping.
