Aloud!, text to speech reader Reviews

I like Aloudtexttospeechreader better than some others I've used, but for some strange reason. It won't pronounce "fi" or "fl". It will just say whatever comes after, or it will spell out the remaining letters. If I'm reading along visually, it's not a big deal, but if only listening, it leaves gaps in my understanding of the text.

Copy an paste 🤦🏼‍♂️is this not year 2020 I should not 👂 hear the audio voice over text read out semicolon, dots, and punctuations.. come on developers ( create, find the problem an become the solution) in the year 2020 my finger should touch on any text online, email, or book and my second touch should select “read” and at a comfortable speech rate. I should hear 👂 ONLY the text. semicolon, dots, and punctuations should impact how it read; not being READ! I really don’t understand how this technology is still in the dark ages 🤷🏻‍♂️

I really love Aloudtexttospeechreader, but once in a while it will freeze while loading a document. I also can't change the language. There's a language choice option, but it doesn't work. Other than that, it's awesome!!

Aloudtexttospeechreader doesn’t even deserve one star. It doesn’t allow you to choose a starting point for reading, and if you accidentally hit a button while scrolling, it goes right back to the end of the document. I gave up trying to find where I wanted to start reading after about the sixth or seventh time scrolling and ending up back at the bottom of the file because my finger slipped and hit a button. Don’t waste your time.

The widget in Aloudtexttospeechreader to Upgrade to Aloud! pro is broken! Aloudtexttospeechreader without upgrading to pro is useless. After entering my Apple password get something like "No Transaction Registered". Also, can't find Aloud! pro from app store. Also, can't edit text to correct mistake after typing in correct input. Only selecting and erasing words can be done. And, of course, if not in pro, there's infuriating popup ads.

just updated and now it closed immediately after opening any PDFs. I’m sure he’ll fix it however it’s just functional. No real great features. When it discovers a character that it doesn’t recognize it speaks ”to the power of” Which happens for M dashes and causing quotation marks, which gets to be quite annoying.

There are way too many commercials for Aloudtexttospeechreader. You type in some thing and it takes you to a spam commercial. You press the wrong button it makes it very hard to get back into Aloudtexttospeechreader, to a point where you have to delete it and reinstall it.

I am happy good if you didn’t make you pay for more space when ever you decide to you ran out

I liked Aloudtexttospeechreader so much that I upgraded. All the functionalities were opened but Ads stayed. Really?!!!

After I update the newest version, Aloudtexttospeechreader cannot open anymore. What’s wrong?

A very poorly designed app that is difficult to figure out.

This is not an app it is crap! I had to give it a star in order to say it doesn’t deserve even one star.

I'm giving this 4 stars because it does quite a good job of reading, but got fooled by a PDF file and read some sections twice. I'll try to send that to the developer.

The reading voice is better than expected. It uses punctuation to insert slight pauses, and does well with that. Headings, however, could use that treatment too. They run into the next sentence without a break.

Pronunciation was good (English) and it missed on only one word. This was "recreate," which is actually two distinct words with different meanings and pronunciations. If that's all it had trouble with in the sample I tried, that's pretty good.

As a pastor/teacher I like to put my notes in Aloudtexttospeechreader and listen while I take a walk or drive in the car but when I purchased the full version nothing changed, I couldn't access the languages and sometimes it freezes or crashes when I attempt to restore. Anyway I hope they figure out the bugs. It's frustrating.

It takes a while to figure how to use it...but nice so far.

Great app it's just annoying having an ad everytime you open without the option of an ad free version. Aloudtexttospeechreader will not open all .txt files but once I converted them to word they opened fine

Simple and great! Would be even better with in-app purchase to remove ads.

I like this one quite a bit! Let's you lock the screen while listening without pausing the read aloud! I use it to sleep, and it does a great job!

Unless you upgrade- like-the second you open this after downloading it doesn't really do too much!
I couldn't get it to do anything but read aloud what I physically typed-(in an old fashioned robotic woman's voice.)
No web pages, PDF's, email etc.
Not what I was looking for.

Each time open app, have to open book and manually scroll to place where left off. Scrolling is horrible. App intended as ad for pro version. It is not usable as is.
