OG UGM users will understand why it’s so bad

This game has so many flaws.

You cannot resign draft picks because they are unhappy, you can’t find coaches in the market, you can’t trade for more than two picks, and you do not make any money.

This DEV has broken all of this companies games. I’ve seen many people complaining about the same things I wish they would change. But instead they are too focused on making money, not the game.

So I got this game because I heard it on a podcast I listen to. I enjoy games like this. I will say this is very hard unless you spend money. But beware if you do. So I have played about 20 seasons without any real success. I finally was getting somewhere when I decided to get the pass. You get extra bonuses with accomplishments. When I got to the +5 gear upgrade, the highest you can buy, I thought that would push me over to win the cup. Nope!! Once I made the purchase, the top three teams got a +10 gear bonus, which is not even available in the game. Needless to say. Those teams have won every year sense. So if I pay money it gets harder? I don’t understand. So save your money unless they change this. I just updated my rating to 1 star. I spent money on this game and time to build up a team only to have two teams in my division with +10 gear. So the only games I lost in the season was to those teams and then I got bounced in the 2nd round of the playoffs? Ok. Support will tell me to choose wisely my goals. My team was rated 4th overall. I can’t get any better with these super teams +7 better than me. I don’t get why they do this. If they don’t fix this soon, I’m done.

I just got your response. You make super teams to make it fair? How is it fair that they can go past the salary cap? How is it fair to have a gear bonus of +10 when the highest I can ever get is paying for a +5 bonus. How is fair that they can make players in their academy seemly at no cost? I spent seasons trying to build up so I can accomplish the stupid tasks that are almost impossible to get. Like a perfect season? Ok!?!? I finally build up only to have the super team take over for 6 seasons. Yeah that’s fair. What a stupid game. That’s only by the way seasons of failing because I can’t compete with no money. I keep losing players and having to start over. Yeah real fair. I wonder if you guys played the game at all yourself.

So fictitious teams of fictitious players. So what? You don’t even have fictitious teams in real team cities, like St. Louis.

You destroyed what use to be a perfect game, don’t download…. Now it’s a pay to win purposefully frustrating

Have to spend LOTS of money in order to have a successful team. Spend a fortune on motivates just to have a higher overall and still not win after spending 4.99 each time is ridiculous. Wouldn’t be bad if I didn’t have to spend close to $100 and still not have a championship worthy team…..

Alright so I’m in the gutters trying to make some more money, right? So I decide to upgrade my team store from 6 to 7, I didn’t read it because it thought yknow it would give me more money like any other upgrade would, but it turns out instead of gaining money per year the amount it gives you was less than the amount it cost to operate it, I now only get 24m dollars from it per year. And from previous upgrades I gained more money from it. So please fix it.

This game is unrealistic unbalanced and unfair, you’ll NEVER make it past the second round of the playoff, I spent seasons making the perfect team in all 4 lines and defensive parings had a amazing goalie rotation, great chemistry,only to get beat in you guessed it THE SECOND ROUND to teams with 70+ wins which is freaking unrealistic again and missed my 3 season cup window with my team and had to start over cause I couldn’t keep everyone. I seen another similar review so I know it’s not just me having this problem and the devs say it’s their way of balancing the game by making super teams 😂😂😂😂😂… ok?!?! I seriously doubt the devs played the game or even know how hockey works cause no way they can proudly say this game is balanced . Don’t waste your phone space on this game

The game is somewhat entertaining for the first 20 seasons of your team, until AI opponents start to build superteams that you can only compete with by paying money. I spent loads of time perfecting my team through trades and drafting and barely navigating the cap, just to find out I got fired from my position because the owner drops his goals for the only apparent reason of missing them prior. On top of the fact that I was fighting with less than $1 million of cap every year, the new GM to take over dropped it by over $40 million, with out cutting anybody! The game is blatantly lying about other teams caps as many of them sit over the actual limit to gain a higher edge than what should be possible on you. Overall good experience until the pay to win section came in, would not recommend buying unless you plan to drop money on it.

I like the game but this is not as good as the others. I have all of the Ultimate GM games and buy the premium for all of them. They are all great but I don’t understand why on the hockey one you can’t make player for player trades? You can only trade players for draft picks or draft picks for other draft picks. I end up with so many draft picks that I just end up trading them for fewer higher picks the following draft because there’s no way to draft that many players. Why can’t I trade one player for another? Make the point system like in the football one so we have the option to trade for better players already in the league to help our teams. I’m not sure why you would change anything from the other GM games you make. They are great…this one is getting frustrating.

Have played, enjoyed and beaten all other management games from this company. This one doesn’t feel like it’s the same level of depth and quality. It feels bare bones, and even on the easiest setting this game is CRAZY hard in the first year or two no matter what you do. Hockey is my favorite sport and I’ve been looking forward to this game for quite some time, and I’ll keep checking in on it from time to time, but right now it’s pretty disappointing. Needs more fleshing out.

The game is a lot of fun, but even on the lowest difficulty, you will struggle for the first several seasons just to keep up your finances, let alone win 30 games. That brings me to my next point…what NHL team cant win 30 games? It honestly feels like the devs have never even cared to research hockey at all. Incredibly rare for a team to be that bad several years in a row no matter what their management is like.

The problem with not being able to win early on, is that is the only way you will make any money to actually improve your team/facilities, because for some reason the devs think that nobody goes to sporting events and spends money at them I guess??

Another huge issue is that later on, when your team actually is good, every CPU team in the league gets an automatic +5 boost to their team. I believe it costs $5 or $10 for the player to get the same deal. So here I am fighting for my life to stay under cap with a 94 overall team and the flippin arizona coyotes (of all teams) are 96 overall, 60 mil under cap.

Sorry for such a long review. Would love to rate it 5 stars but I can’t. Would love to see what the devs have to say about this😂

I have played most of the gym titles from you guys and they all are great. I love the baseball one with the minor league teams and building that type of way. I was wondering if it were to late or possible at all to put the minor leagues in hockey.

I love the game but can you take off the salary cap like the others or all the salary cap to increase somewhere cuz every season the players want more money but I can’t give to them and have a good team w they salary cap

You guys are awesome, I already bought the premium version and I haven’t even started the game yet. Every game you’ve made is quality and I can’t wait to play this later. I’ve been waiting for the hockey version. Thank you for making this a reality!!

For blind gamers using the screen reader voiceover, this is the most accessible hockey GM game. I have found so far. As a huge fan of hockey and the NHL i have some critiques to help make this game more realistic and truly ultimate. First the minor league system needs redone as in its current state it is currently unrealistic, I should be able to promote and demote players just like NHL teams call up and send down players to their farm teams no matter what age they are. Second in the line up tab we should be able to set our first and second power play units as well as penalty killers. I have noticed while watching the play by play of my teams games players who are not listed as starting will score on the power play and penalty kill. This has to be a bug as well because when you go into the stats page it will show those players with zero games played but with goals and assists recorded. Third is a list of features that would give the game more emersion. Goalies should have win and loss records in their stats just like a baseball pitcher. Goalies should have catching/glove hand designated in their player card Goalie of the year award should be added as it is part of every hockey league from juniors to the NHl. Bring back jersey numbers and allow them to be retired kinda like your legends page Minor teams should have names again and a championship like it once did in your Baseball GM game. When a coach or staff member is approached by another franchise to join their team it should tell us which franchise… this also used to be in your Baseball GM Game. Allow us to edit players college as it is not very realistic to have a hockey team full of players from Clemson and University of South Florida…If we could also edit hand designation, height and weight that would also be great. Their also should be a page that keeps track of franchise records like largest margin of victory, most goals in a game by a single player, most points in playoffs etc etc…Ultimate Baseball Gm also featured this. A captain feature should be added in which you could set one player as team captain and it could effect personality or happiness. Players who are unhappy should be able to demand a trade if their happiness remains low for an extended period of time. Also would love to see a draft class system where i could edit, save and then be able to import later similar to the way you can download users files of team names for the league.

I have played every game this company puts out. I love GM games and they do them the best overall. I would love to see the user player names highlighted. I really enjoy seeing my players stats rise through the all time rankings but it’s extremely hard to pick out my players without them being highlighted like they are in the company’s other games.
