Love the app - bugs ruin it

Update: as a paid user, I expect actual support for something I’ve paid for that doesn’t work. Very upsetting that even after reporting the issue below, I received no support response from Cub . It’s very frustrating and although I was enjoying Cub , losing months of progress and tracking has really soured it for me.

I’ve been using Cub for a few months now and am loving it. I had a good streak going, thousands of points, just hit level 8 or 9, and then this morning my app started crashing. Seems like my phone didn’t like the recent update and now I can’t get anything back, including my set routine, my points, anything. Super frustrating. Might just delete it and find something better.

Cool idea but has a way to go with the software.

The software has a way to go before you can change $40. I had Cub for 30 minutes and had to delete it because adding something as simple as a goal wouldn’t save. The ones that did save took many tries. As someone with ADHD Cub is to busy I don’t want to tap 50 things to get what I’m looking for. I was also expecting something more personable with the widget.

ADHD vs Free Trial Challenge

Having ADHD, free trial periods can be less of a blessing and more of a curse. If I get distracted and miss days, I’m less likely to go back to something. It’s also harder for me to intentionally get into something new or create new routines. The “ADHD tax” (aka where your ADHD makes it way easier to forget to do things like cancel free trials and then end up paying money for something you don’t use later) is also a big problem.

Because I have ADHD and didn’t get back to Cub before my free trial was up, I never got to explore Cub to see if this program -that’s supposed to be designed to help with problems I face with ADHD- would even be a good fit. There are no do-overs, no resets. If I wanted to explore Cub now, I can’t do so without paying a large weekly fee or signing up for a larger fee/longer plan. I’m not saying it’s unfair or that having ADHD should get people special treatment. But an app designed to help with ADHD should maybe consider this is a problem for a large portion of their target audience.

Maybe Cub is great for people like
me, maybe it’s not. I’ll never know now.

I wish it was more engaging

From the comments on Instagram that led me to download Cub, I expected a more interactive experience. The only consistently interactive element are the blatantly interrupting "free gift" popup that opens every time I open Cub . This is especially disruptive to my neurodivergent brain. That aside, it's pretty hard to care about this little virtual panda, since it hardly interacts with me at all. I'm trying to find an app for my teenager who also has ADHD and I can tell already that, given this passive nature of Cub , it will fail to engage him. I was hopeful.

Issues with goals disappearing

All my goals I added have suddenly disappeared to a blank white screen. I’ve emailed feedback and it’s still not working. I’ll have to cancel as the main idea of Cub is to complete goals and I’m unable to see them. Otherwise great app aside from the items in the shop always staying the same. Should be updated more often with new items and ability to place them where you want. Hoping my issue is fixed soon!

Helpful but a handful of bugs!

I love using this app I myself find it helpful and have had genuine life improvements and positive self reflection thanks to this app! I have However came across a handful of bugs with both decorating and mainly the self reflection options.

Sometimes the furniture like the lamp will originally stand well in frame where it’s suppose to be but when I switch to see if theirs another one I’d rather have it’ll like become smaller and morph into a desk that’s set up or the bed. So I wish that would be fixed.
With the reflection options sometimes when I click on an option it just won’t load? it’ll pull up a blank white panel even if I reload the game it won’t pop up correctly. I have tried where i tapped on other reflections and then the one I want and it works but that’s still kinda inconvenient and makes Cub less appealing.
I look forward to more bug fixes :)

Couple bugs.

When you're on call with someone and try to unlock an app to do a quick task, it bugs your whole phone out and almost crashes every single thing.
Not ok. It's kinda like it doesn't want to give you the option to open it. Like idc I have to message somebody back and I shouldn't have to worry about my whole phone crashing to do that.

Mixed thoughts

I like the idea, I signed up in April. Created all my routines, it is a cute app and good basic habit tracker.
I had to pay for a subscription past the trial, there’s nothing free- but the FAQ page says there’s a free version?
I fell off the wagon when the kids got out of school, routine changed and we started traveling. But this app would still ping me with notifications so I just went to get back on and all my stuff is gone. I had to go back through the setup process and was asked to sign up for a free trial even though I’m logged in on the same device with same Apple ID etc. And I’m guessing I’ll probably have to set up all my routines which did take a while. Still like it and hopefully will get it resolved but worth sharing as anyone with ADHD knows that being locked out of an account and having to do a bunch of stuff to either get back in, start over or get a refund is kind of our worst nightmare 🤪

Great so far! Want more options

I really like the set up especially for my ADHD brain. So far it’s the only productivity app I’ve consistently used which is def saying something because I’ve tried a ton! I hope that more items get added to the store because I could see myself becoming bored soon.

This app is great!

I have downstairs app over a month ago and it really helps keep me on track! I love the little Panda and how I can redecorate his room! The small rewards are just enough motivation to keep me coming back! I think the ability to include a routine to help keep my kitchen clean in manageable steps helped greatly too! They have additional tools to keep you on track in a variety of ways.

I would love to see some additional changes to Cub like the ability to feed and care for my Panda on a regular basis. I would also like to be able to see my past emotional logs and daily logs to see what I have said.

Overall a great game for what it is! I love Cub and use it every day!

Cub Is awesome!

Really glad I found Cub

I saw it on Instagram and thought I’d give it a try as it’s been really hard to focus

The this app is cute, cheers me on, and I like having a place for a to do list. I also didn’t know about the pomodoro timer and that’s been helpful.

Helps Keep Me Accountable

I live a very busy lifestyle and it’s hard to remember to do simple tasks throughout the day (Such as drink 8 cups of water a day).

this app has helped me stay on track and is unlike other apps in that I am not annoyed when I see a notification reminding me to stay on track with my daily goal(s).

Great support for the app!

I’ve only been using Cub for a day or so- it’s got some cool features. I’m mostly interested in seeing my goals, more than the extra features. I noticed my music kept stopping when I use Cub which is problematic for anyone who listens to music while multitasking. I wrote the developers on a Sunday and they responded a couple hours later, promising a fix within a week. that’s EXCELLENT support and I look forward to seeing how Cub evolves, knowing they truly prioritize the end-user experience. I ended up buying the subscription because I really appreciate the fact that they listened to my comment, and I hated seeing the “gift” ad on the screen. Well worth it for the low annual cost! I look forward to using Cub consistently and bettering myself! Cheers!

Slight learning curve, still good app

I love the cuteness of Cub. Learning curve for me is slightly challenging…I emphasize slightly. I still give this five stars, especially because of the outstanding customer service, helping me maneuver, and set Cub up for my personal preferences. Look forward to getting to know Cub , and how it works for me.

Three weeks in and I love it!

There are still days that I can’t get myself to do the things, but Cub helps me keep track of what I need to do in an engaging way. And I like the ability to block other apps, just still figuring out how I’ll use it best.

Would love to see the ability to add clothes to my this app or other ways to spend the bamboo points.

Reaching out is worth it!

I’ve been using Cub since March 2024, and after buying up the entire store — I needed more.

I sent an email to get help, and they called! We had a great chat and now my this app is having a blast with the updates. ❤️🥳

Cub really helped me get through burnout. It has also been great just to check-in with my this app (myself) every day and make sure my basics are covered. Forever grateful.

Panda with Rizz

I actually really enjoy Cub. I have severe adhd so I struggle with many things but one thing is for sure, I love to check in on my panda and like giving him a better life with every task/chore I complete. As long as I remember to write my things I need on Cub they actually get done bc I care about my pandas well being. Can’t have him all ratchet with a default home. He needs all the rizz. Love it! Only thing I would love the developer to do is make it available for Mac and iPads please! Would love to use it on my desktop for work. Gotta give more rizzzzzzz

Great app with suggestion

I think this is a really great app that game-ifies whathever tasks I want to add. I have ADHD and it’s helped me a lot. However the things that you can purchase with the bamboo you earn are a little lackluster. It would be so cool to be able to earn outdoor scenery and adventures for your animal, like a backdrop of a trip to Paris, Tokyo, giant redwoods, snorkeling etc. Also earning a different type of animal instead of a Panda: koala, polar bear, tiger, cat, rabbit, etc would be really motivating. Hats, flags, snacks, swag would also be great items to buy with bamboo. I think the rugs and furniture are meh. Thank for Cub and for reading this review.

LOVE this app!!

Everything about Cub is awesome! Bought premium a few days ago and i’m already noticing a positive change!
The ability to set small goals for myself has allowed me to feel better about what i’m getting done day-by-day! The both the mini lessons & the quizzes have helped me understand how my brain works & how i can help myself be better. The motivational quotes drive me to feel better. The pomodoro timer is SUCH a nice addition to Cub; helps me to utilize the technique!
The only suggestions I have is to 1. add more options for the fidget tools and 2. add a little chart to the mood tracker to see what emotions i was feeling at what times on what day! Would greatly help those with emotional permance and/or alexithymia!

Love - put wish it had more option to treat ur cub

This is app is amazing! Such a great idea! I just wish you could purchase more things for your this app and more food options. It would be great if you could purchase toys, treats, activities, etc.
