Worst tease ever.

2022-05-21

It’s great for the people its actually aimed for. And that wouldn’t be the broken, heart broken, or defeated. If u went threw a breakup and were left with nothing then don’t even bother downloading it. It’s only meant for the rich considering EVERY SING video and daily spread and everything els. And I mean EVERYTHING els costs at least $2. Well spending that for every video. Then doing it everyday or spending the $15 a month witch is more than I pay for tv a month. Why the hell would I spend that kind of money on an APP that I use once a day for 10 mins??? You could still give it a try, I did. And within 40 seconds I realized I can do nothing more than stare at it wishing I could use it because I could have really used the help. But no she doesn’t want to help people she just wants to make bank. Clearly.

Not my thing

2022-06-22

I delved in during the trial period and was thankful for there being one.

Minor things:

No night mode. The time I have for quiet and reflection is night. The design is bright. You can flip your phone over or turn off the screen but this would be a minor change that people will enjoy.

Music. I hope that was free music because it's just awful. It's the same phrase over and over. I have usedany meditation apps and this choice boggles my mind. Ifd never have expected soft, background music to be distracting.

Difficult to see text. The background is bright but the text isn't contrasted well & it's small. I get some people won't have a problem but this could easily be fixed by allowing a few options or even dimming the background-again.

Major:

Content. There's a lot of content. Cool. The content-proper is not for me. I have a background in psychology and I work as a parole officer. Cognitive-Behavioral is my preferred approach. The approach here is basically too sidling, too ephemeral. In the who speech, the same explication of a situation and examples could be done in 5-10 minutes. My takeaway if the 'point' & the action step from these could be delivered more succinctly.

I have had years of therapy & work as a civil servant. I currently have a therapist, as all therapists and counsors should. All of this to say that I really do have experience with getting and giving counsel. The concept of SanitySelf is good. My experience with it shows that it's not for me.

Not very helpful for me

2022-07-23

This seems to share a lot of good communication tips one might accumulate after years of therapy. If you’re just getting started in your wellness journey that’s probably much more helpful. In that way I’m not the target audience. Also it’s DEFINITELY made for straight girls, oftentimes saying “your man” instead of “partner” and telling the listeners how inept “your man” is. Some of the time they seem to fall back on pretty sexist standards that were common place in couples counseling in the 60’s (men are from Mars style “husbands are so dumb we have to talk down to them” style of communication). My last gripe is the majority of the content seems aimed at our relationships with other people, which is good indeed, but SanitySelf was billed as a self care experience not couples counseling. I myself am more than my relationships to others and it doesn’t seems to promote that line of thought.

Mostly disappointing but slightly insightful content

2022-08-24

I downloaded SanitySelf because I saw an advertisement for it on Instagram, and thought why not. When I opened SanitySelf , I was initially skeptical because of immense focus on just empowering women, which is a good concept. However, the execution of SanitySelf creates an exclusionary environment because not everyone feels supported, which is not fair especially since majority of the content is general information for all people.
Another issue I have with SanitySelf is that after only one sample audio a pop up comes up that requires you to sign up for a free 7 day trial or pay an outrageous amount for premium. It’s disappointing and quite ironic that in our corrupt society there is an entire market created out of coping with the society itself. Thus, creating an endless cycle of superficial values that take advantage of and sanitize the real horrors of living in a world full of systems that reduce and commodify human life. For example, many people can not afford the overpriced amount for premium does that mean they don’t desire happiness? Absolutely not! There are many free ways to cope with problems like reading articles online or listening to music or talking to friends, thus proving SanitySelf does not uniquely fix any issues and is quite unnecessary. Therefore, the only reason for its existence is to exploit stressed out people.

A lot is missing

2022-09-25

I’m not sure who will see this in the sea of reviews. Most of which are 5 star reviews. For me this is not a 5 star app. It’s a 5 star concept. I’ve had it for a month—like other women I wanted to start the New Year “getting back on track”. I thought this was a great app to do that. I quickly got board. And the content that didn’t bore me was over with after 2 mins. I just wish it had more. More important I wish it would update the content regularly. I’ve been waiting for new bedtime stores for weeks. Where’s the rest of the chapters to Little Women and Alice in Wonder. Once you finish a session (which is usually only 2 mins for 5 days) then what? It takes more than 10 mins a week to learn to love yourself, to learn to accept yourself, to not get stressed out. WE NEED MORE. Also. I’m 32– I know this is for women but I feel like some of the content is for younger women. I don’t need to learn to touch myself. I don’t need to learn how to play mind games to make men interested in me. And I don’t need to learn to say the F word. It’s already my favorite word and I’m content with canceling my subscription. I won’t miss it. I really hope they can update their and add more content regularly. I really wanted to love SanitySelf. If anyone needs me I’ll be going to Calm (which is also cheaper) you MOREEEEE bang for your buck.

I like it but disappointed in the lack of content

2022-10-26

I accidentally paid for the year subscription but decided I would stick with it because I enjoyed some of the sessions and the sleep guides (though I wish they were all longer). I understand with covid it’s not necessarily the easy task but I feel as though I’m the amount of time I’ve been on SanitySelf not much has been added. I noticed one addition. Especially with the bedtime tales, I would like to see following chapters of the books. I love the concept and the girl power and the lessons being taught but there are also many things that don’t apply to me and I’ve listened to the ones that do already. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add more stuff I would love to continue use of SanitySelf due to the messages it’s getting out there and the help it can bring to women.

Misleading in a way..

2022-11-27

I do like SanitySelf and I think very good points are made in each session, but personally, I’m young and still in school and I was really excited to find out more about how to learn to help support myself through different issues in my life with this. But I cannot afford to pay for premium as I am still only in school. It would be nice to have free options. I feel like now I’ve downloaded this in hopes of getting more in depth with myself, and now I can’t afford to get the full experience. Which is quite discouraging to be fully honest. But I think the idea behind it is in good efforts.. many people looking for help nowadays consist of younger girls in hopes of finding reassurance in their lives. And if you’re in highschool- it’s hard to afford things such as this if you’re just looking for another opinion to help clear your head.

I can tell the app is amazing

2022-12-28

I’ve been exploring SanitySelf for a few days now and most every title that I’ve come across definitely sounds like something I would like to listen to. The only problem is that I am not able to access any of the sessions due to them all being Premium. I don’t have Premium and I’m didn’t download a free app only to buy the main feature (I’m sure many others feel the same way). There should absolutely be an abundance of free sessions that users of SanitySelf can be able to use. I’m sure the Premium sessions are totally awesome, but it would be great if we could have free access to a bunch of less-awesome sessions per say. And I don’t mean just samples of the session itself, I mean full sessions that people can actually get something out of. I’m so excited to start using SanitySelf but, for now, there really is nothing to use. This is the only reason why I’m giving SanitySelf a 4 rather than a 5 star review. Everything else SanitySelf features is superb!

Thank You

2023-01-29

I read several reviews. By about the 3rd one I was mostly thinking I was going to give it a try and download it, just because.... however, by the 6th or 7th review I was convinced that I HAD TO (it was like an urge to) download SanitySelf .
On one hand, it was free for 7 days (and if I’m not LAZY like most people) and ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION to the 7 day mark and cancel it before that date... it was totally free, even if it turned out NOT to be worth the what, $5.99 a month?
And BEST case scenario, it needed up being TOTALLY worth it, and it might ACTUALLY change my life!!
Well, that would be THE BEST $5.99 I ever spent!
Sooooo... I screenshot all the dates (so I don’t forget to cancel it by the right day)
Sign in via Facebook.. blah blah
I answer all the questions
And get the: Breakup Bounce Back.... I’m not even 3 minutes into session one and I was balling my eyes out.
It was all I could do to get up here fast enough to write this review so I could hurry up and get back to session #2.

Thank You
P.S. I look forward to more amazing reviews (which I’m sure are to come)

Joie Nicole Rhodes (currently)

Absolutely worth it.

SanitySelf has been a God-send. I've listened daily for about two months. Yes, you have to pay to get full access. When I downloaded SanitySelf , it was a $60 subscription fee for the year.
For the YEAR.
I admit. I sort of cringed. But then I got to thinking.
That's as much as some gyms charge per MONTH. That's probably even less than what you spend in a shopping trip with friends.
And your mental health is worth it. MY mental health was worth it. These sessions really pulled me out of a deep rut that I had been in for a few months. I'm learning new ways of thinking that I can implement every day to help me regain ME. And I do. I'm learning that I'm not as alone as I thought I was. I'm getting encouragement and coping strategies from people who GET it.
*I've only done the listening/journaling sessions SanitySelf has to offer, and haven't yet tried the one on one chat. But I can tell a lot of work went into SanitySelf, and I'm betting that service would be pretty helpful too.
I haven't regretted this purchase for a single moment.

Best self-help I have ever experienced

2023-03-31

I’m 20 and I’ve never been seen a therapist or councilor past third grade. However that does not imply that I never needed one. When I came across SanitySelf I was wowed by the diversity of thought and the types of struggles they offered to help with. I learned things about myself through SanitySelf that I never knew. This is more than an app, it’s a community of Women whom want to better ourselves and our lives, and counselors that are here to help us do just that. They even have a community chat and a personal journal. I recommend this to all women regardless of where you are in life. 🌼

Thank You

SanitySelf is changing my entire life. I can not tell you how grateful I am that this exists. The pandemic has been such a struggle, but everything I’m learning from SanitySelf is giving me tools, I didn’t even know I needed or existed, to overcome my personal struggles. I’ve changed my entire lifestyle with the help of SanitySelf. SanitySelf is helping me figure how to put in the work to change my life. I’ve been sober for a year, lost 60 lbs, ended a 6 year relationship, I’m finding my independence my authentic self because of Sanity&Self. If you’re not living the life you want too, and are ready for personal growth, THIS.

Yes!!!

2023-06-02

I paid for the full one year membership which is a lot for me. I hesitated to do it buts its so worth it. But you have to actually use it and follow the programs/talks. They are relaxed and sympathetic of our issues as women. Most of my issues are dating and self esteem but they even go into more details. Not just self esteem but self esteem for single women. If you have an issue they have a talk about it. It’s such a simple app. You can even pause the talk switch over to the journal page and make some notes for later then switch back to the talk. I’m really happy I paid for SanitySelf.

Review

I have just begun to try SanitySelf and it interests me that it’s geared towards helping women in today’s world. Today’s society, is so fast paced and has really propelled women to the forefront of an astounding number of professions much quicker than what most people expected; I feel safe saying. SanitySelf really helps slow the woman’s traditional roles of thinking back down to a more calm pace.
One suggestion I have would be to expand the trial period before making a purchase for a year at the cost that’s advertised. And also maybe on SanitySelf reorganizing the featured sessions into sections (i.e. - mind, body, spirit) with the sections matching accordingly such as running with body and relationships with mind/body etc.

Worth every penny!!!

2023-08-04

The content on SanitySelf is spot on.I subscribed for a year and the cost of that is a fraction of what I would spend on one therapy session! What I love most is the different series of talks. Right now I’m going through the ones on self worth, and then journaling. The content is not pedestrian or condescending… It’s real, intelligent and challenging.I want to thank the creators of SanitySelf for taking the time to find high quality and diverse contributors, and for designing SanitySelf so thoughtfully. Exactly what I’m needing.

Side note: I wanted to recommend SanitySelf to a good friend who just lost her husband but I see there aren’t any series on dealing with death. Please consider adding this. Thank you!!

I love this app

2023-09-05

I decided to do the one year package and I use this almost every single day and now I’m using the sounds every single night to go to sleep to talk to a therapist to her three times and yes I did pay the $100 fee to me it’s been worth it because I have gone to real therapist and on SanitySelf you have so many things in one the tools that you actually need her here I would recommend this to anybody who is looking for change a mental change and an emotional change in their life so SanitySelf is a very great tour you can do voice messages you can type them out the sessions the voice sessions that they provide are so amazing and they feel so personal 10/10

Such a perfect app!

2023-10-07

I feel so much at peace with myself and my life right now all thanks to SanitySelf. I did the monthly plan, and I can say that it was definitely worth my money. You can just tell the time and effort these individuals put in and that they truly do care about each and every one of you that decide to take a listen. It gives such amazing advice, advice that I actually have never heard before, and it has done wonders for me in any type of situation I can think of. There is an audio for just about anything you may be struggling with, and if you are in need of support it is definitely a place where you can feel it, and start to love yourself if you have trouble with that as well. I absolutely love it, and have no regrets!!!

I ❤️ this app but, I seriously didn’t think I would!!

2023-11-07

SanitySelf totally surprised me with how much I love it, how not-cheesy it is and the focus being on women, ALL WOMEN. I thought “Ok, I’ll use it maybe for part of the free trial but not all” and that turned into “I love this, let’s sign up now!” From opening SanitySelf and seeing “You’re home, take off your bra” then seeing all the different areas of anxiety, self doubt, depression, abusive or toxic relationships and seeing areas geared towards queer, bisexual women or women of color, then fitness, weight, sleep, relaxation, meditation. SanitySelf blew my mind. Then you can journal, chat with experts. This is amazing. And when my membership needs to be renewed in a couple more months, it’s will have my 2nd year starting up. Gold star ⭐️🥇👍

Update: Better than I thought it would be

2023-12-09

I pay because it IS worth the money. My favorite speakers are Diane Mandell and Melanie Dewberry. Both have great insight to offer. I feel like they are genuine with their intentions to help women become better versions of themselves.

There are so many self- help apps that I have downloaded just to ignore the recommendations and activities. Many of them seemed appealing by their description but in the end just didn’t keep me engaged. This one is unlike any other. There are courses that are more than just the typical “self- love” and ‘take a moment to breathe” apps. The courses target real issues and provide tools to address how these issues affect our lives. The only issue I have is that it advertises as an app specifically for women. There are several modules that could apply to anyone.

Don’t normally buy apps but..

2024-01-09

I usually don’t buy apps BUT SanitySelf has been a life changer. You could go out and spend $100 per therapy session, OR use SanitySelf. I admit 9.99 is a lot for an app, per month, but if it’s an app that’s going to help me think clearly, and be my best self, then it’s something I need. Life is hard, sometimes you loose yourself, sometimes you need strength to get through your day and you don’t know where you can get it, and you’re absolutely desperate, but the second I start listening to the calming voices, and NOT feeling alone for once, everything starts to fall into place. This is my favorite app, and if you try it out, I guarantee within the week, you’ll fall in love.

Very important part of my life.

2024-12-22

I read reviews and finally stopped being cheap, I purchased my first app ever. That’s like in 17 years. It was a very great much needed experience I do not regret. SanitySelf does so much for my mood and depression, self loathing, relationships, and hope. I make minimum wage, and I made it work with the subscription fee. These ladies out here literally saying “they need to make a free version” or “you should do this and that”, is really mind blowing. You’re unhappy with SanitySelf because you want to use it and you want it for free? Umm that’s not how things work. Basically 10$ a month of 6$ with the year. If that is not obtainable for you then there are other free apps. The features in SanitySelf are above and beyond. I literally don’t understand that people seriously go on the reviews and give low stars and take the time to complain to a business for not giving them products for free. Huh? Why are you doing any ratings when you haven’t even experienced the application? You’re hoping they will reach out to you and give you a free subscription? I bet you complain at stores and restaurants asking for a manager or supervisor to be belligerent with, waiting for them panic wanting to stop you from causing a scene and offer you free items.
You can’t afford it? You can’t have it. That’s life. If you need emotional support that badly you need a dr not SanitySelf.

My favorite App

2024-12-22

This is by far my favorite app that I’ve had. In the past year, I deleted my Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat accounts. There was just too much comparing, so much negativity and it was a complete waste of my time. I was having a rough go at life and I decided to try “sanity&self” for my own sanity. Listening to the amazing programs, encouraging one another and sharing positives really has helped me to have a new outlook on life. Instead of tearing each other down, we must raise one another up. I thank the creators so much for their thoughtfulness and love for people. Try SanitySelf and I promise, you won’t regret it!

Everyone needs self-care

2024-12-22

I absolutely love love love everything about SanitySelf. It has helped me so much... I would love to see it advertised as more than just a women’s self care app. I immediately felt the need to share it with people close to me... I just wanted them to feel the way about themselves as I was feeling. The women I shared it with loved it, but the men felt unwanted. I feel like many people are in need of the magic that SanitySelf brings. I know of many men who are insecure and are even more insecure to share those details. Maybe SanitySelf could be gender neutral and can help everybody take some time for themselves💛

Inspiring trainers, fun and calorie busting workouts!

2024-12-22

I’ve been an early adopter of Moov’s various fitness enablers, including the Now and HR. This version, which is wearable free and brings in various trainers to push you to your limits, needs just your commitment! Love the different workout formats, the fact that they are equipment free and have already transformed me in a short timeframe! The Moov Studio community on Facebook is also a great place for people to share their experiences, to motivate each other and to just feel the power of community when needing people around you! Overall, this is a great app and I look forward to doing more with the community!

Grateful to have found this!

2024-12-22

SanitySelf as so much useful content.
If you are interested In self development and building your boundaries without feeling guilty. I recommend SanitySelf. I have looked for apps to help me and I believe this one is worth it. I do wish it was acceptable to all girls especially teens who can’t afford to pay for apps. Like I said it worth it if you can. $5 a month is as much as a burger you would buy and finish is 10 minutes. This will help you understand yourself and that will last you a life time. Learning and applying this to your life are to different things. Apply it to yourself and if you cannot maybe you feel you don’t deserve to, but you do. SanitySelf will help you see that for yourself. I listen to it in the morning or before bed. When I can actively listen to it. I share it because I feel it will help people as much as it has helped me. 🌻

Amazing, 100% worth the money

2024-12-22

To the people complaining that this costs money, think about how much a yoga, meditation, workout or therapy session costs per month/year. WAY more than what SanitySelf costs. This is cheap for everything you get. I love SanitySelf because of how much it helps with my anxiety. When I start to overthink, I’ll start a session and feel at ease. I also love that they have sleep meditations, workout sessions, and stretching guidance. It’s easy to navigate and always calms me down when I open up SanitySelf . Thank you for creating something amazing! I’m happy that I’ve finally invested in myself!
