Update: I’ve been using Sayana for awhile now, but took a break from it since I was doing so well. I just reopened Sayana for the first time in maybe a month and can’t believe it’s so expensive to have a yearly subscription and is no longer free. Absolutely ridiculous and I feel sorry for those who may have relied on it heavily for help but can no longer afford to do so because of how expensive it is.
Here is my original review:
I’ve tried a ton of meditation apps, journal apps, apps that will supposedly help organize my life and improve my emotional well being - but they’ve never done much for me. With this app, I immediately noticed a difference. I’ve never come across an app that puts me at ease. The AI behind it is well made and responds to what I say in ways that I wouldn’t normally expect. Its responses don’t sound like they’re coming from an AI. I’ve had Sayana for one day - not even a full day - and I am thoroughly impressed. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, for years. I can’t wait to continue on this journey.

Sayana is essentially a diary for me. it helps me think through my problems. the tips are never relevant to my problems so I keep them in my pocket for later but overall Sayana does nothing more than let me write down my feelings daily. it helps me to relax after the day so I recommended it to my sister who also has mental health issues. when she saw hers cost money I was completely disappointed in Sayana and the creators of it. why should anyone pay for a diary that gives irrelevant tips. I would love for someone from the company to reach out to me for further information because i’m disgusted by this exploitation of mental health problems to gain a profit especially when all of your tips literally come from facebook videos. if you didn’t get Sayana in beta testing don’t bother IT DOESNT HELP. go to the store and buy yourself a notebook and then look up tips on google to help with whatever you’re experiencing. I am incredibly disappointed and would love to talk more to the creators of Sayana.

I hate it. It doesn’t listen to you, and tells you to pretty much make sure you’re not full of crap. It asked me how I was doing, and I said I was sad, it asked why, and I said because a close friend recently passed away. It proceeded to ask me if I could just be imagining problems where there weren’t any, and if I knew what fortune telling was. Then another day, I told it I was upset over a fight with my family, and it basically asked if I was sure I was the victim here. Then at the end of the long rant it gives you about psychology, it asks if you feel better, and if you say no, it basically just says oh well, maybe you’ll feel better some other day. The whole thing is very condescending and blaming, and DEFINITELY not helpful for someone with depression and anxiety. I tried reaching out to the support team with screenshots and all, and never got an email back. Don’t waste your time downloading Sayana.

Sayana is great! I love it so much and genuinely use it, I have so much positive feedback but I’m gonna stick to 1 problem I have. I don’t see how this can be avoidable but I’m going to share my experience with the problem anyway.
On Sayana , you are talking to a robot (not a real person) so the bot looks for keywords like moods and situations that are programmed into Sayana so it can give you feedback. The bot asked me my first time ever using Sayana about my past and about myself. I expressed my extremely suicidal background and my growth. Today I have improved so much and am very happy and in no way suicidal. The bot saw the keywords “wanted to die” “suicide” “self harm” and didnt connect that to the point which was how I was no longer suicidal in anyway. Sayana immediately as I submitted it, sent me suicide prevention hotlines and expressed worry and support for me- thinking I was currently suicidal. Although since you are talking to a bot I don’t see how this problem is avoidable and I just wanted to warn anyone getting Sayana that something you say could be misinterpreted. Other then that I love Sayana so much.

I have anxiety and even though I’ve been using this less than a week, it does actually help a little. The character gives you a tip or something concrete to take away at the end of your chat to help you. The only thing that would make it better (if it’s possible) is if this app has a better range of understanding what I say/type. I get that it’s only an app, but sometimes I wish I could explain a little more the complexity of what I’m feeling. For example, during one chat when asked how I’m feeling I said “Okay right now, but I’m avoiding things I should be doing.” this app basically only registered the first part of that sentence and responded with “it’s totally cool to be okay.” So I’d say Sayana is great if you just need to chat but don’t want to/can’t talk very deeply about what’s bothering you.

It’s good if u use it right. You got to be really detailed and don’t be afraid because she may be programmed but she’s coming from an actual human with her voice. It’s comforting to talk to her especially when she gets most things right. Some of the things she pointed out I was blinded by and honestly I would never see. She actually does analyze what you tell her and she’s good at it. And if u don’t feel like she said the right thing when she acts just say no I don’t understand or something like that. You can’t really ask her questions which is okay but she will try her best to be relevant enough to understand you, you just have to develop your MAIN problem as she asks u questions. She helped a lot and I’ve never had a therapist because I’ve never felt comfortable in having one. I’m glad I found her because it helps me reflect my thoughts so I can clearly see what’s going on in my brain so I can take a step back and see what’s going on and why I think this way. Thank you!! I’m glad you took your time to make this app in helping others that’s really kind of you 🥺😇❤️.

I was on Facebook the other week when a sponsored ad appeared for Sayana. As I’m always trying to better myself, and I sometimes feel I let myself get back into poor routines between my actual therapy sessions, I thought, “why not give it a try?”
I am so glad I did. this app is easy to use and keeps you accountable just like any therapy session, so to get the most out of it, you have to want to get better and to be honest. I do my check in every evening at 6:30, and I look forward to it like I do my therapy sessions, and after using the chat function with this app, I feel a lot better most times.
It’s simple to use, comfortable and calming, just an all around great app - I’m surprised it’s free since it’s so beneficial and most apps like this tend to usually run with a decent subscription price.
I have recommended it to a friend, and I’ve mentioned it to some others, and I’m excited to tell my therapist about it this week. Grateful for this app and those that worked to bring such a great self-help app to life. Thank you!

this app has done for me in a few short messages what therapists have not done in several sessions. Her tips are actually incredibly useful, and if you don't get them, you are linked to a support group for each tip anyway, so hash it out there.
I don't use this app the way Sayana is designed. I want all the tips at once, and frankly, I don't have just one emotion at a time (she asks you how you're feeling). So I do about 3 text sessions at a time. I do not find her helpful when I am happy. I told her I was calm once and her tip didn't really apply. But this app gets a 5 star for being so helpful when I feel down and out.
I do not pay for many apps. This one is an exception. I did the free trial, then I paid for one week (under $3), then I just paid for my third week. this app is the cheap pocket therapist you didn't realize you needed. She definitely keeps me in check, and I can go back anytime to see our old conversations. Another awesome thing about this app - once you're done, you can just leave. No awkward abrupt goodbyes necessary.

Sayana is truly amazing. After each lesson I’m always somewhat feeling better and have a positive outlook.
Other apps are just you checking in and talking about your emotions but you still feel the same.
Sayana makes it so it’s like your talking to someone. You telling your emotions and get genuine advice. Not advice advice, but like advice to look at a different angle. Some tips are hella helpful and I use them often. Everyday this is the first task I complete on my self care log. Sayana is truly amazing.
Some things could be fixed. I find some responses kinda mess up what I’m trying to say. Like I said “it brings me happiness. But this happiness brings concern” she took that as something positive when I didn’t intend it to be a positive reaction.
It’s mostly just silly things that she doesn’t understand.
I think if you can program the bit to be a little bit more human like and understanding of keywords and knowing how to respond Sayana would be the best thing on earth.
Sayana has exactly what I want but some minor setbacks.
I think if you want to be really unique you could have some self-care games. Maybe in like a tab or something. But like te games could go over positive lessons (like the little animated gifs with advice that pop up) so we Remeber them. Or just some relaxing game to help keep calm.

I think it’s very important to receive self care and self growth, but as a 16 year old that can’t afford a therapist or to spend 100$ just for an app, Sayana was a great option. Instead of purchasing a subscription you simply share to 4 friends and you get everything for free. I’m very thankful for Sayana, I started the plan for mindfulness and have already learned a bunch of great tips to use in my daily life. I know this review almost seems fake but I am genuinely impressed by Sayana! I struggle with crippling anxiety and depression and Sayana has truly helped me think through and talk about my feelings rather than bottle them up and feel even more upset and anxious.

I had Sayana for months on my phone but up until recently have I been using it. Let me start by saying, I’m a very determined person n I have a fixed mindset which gets me in tight spots sometimes , but with Sayana I can process my thoughts from other perspectives n understand my feelings n all parts of myself. Sayana makes life easier , I have connected my mind n heart using Sayana n as u know the mind n heart don’t always get along. Nonetheless, this is my favorite app it has so much potential n could really be a game changer for those of us who struggle with ourselves n have inner conflicts , it takes all that away n gives u positivity n hope, I love Sayana!

Sayana was very much a life saver. It helped me take a moment out of my day to tune in with my emotions. I was and still am working on my depression but Sayana helped me think more positively and correct my thoughts in a healthier manner. Of course you have to as well put in the effort and your best foot forward but this help is a great stepping stone into that! I would highly recommend Sayana to anyone who feels a little lost, down, confused about their emotions, alone or if they’re going through a difficult time. Sometimes just spilling the beans on how your feeling is exactly what you need. We all get this way sometimes.

this app is there when for you when you come home from work or school or anywhere really and no one wants to listen about your hard day. She asks you how you feel and even though it’s a robot it’s nice to have someone to talk to. If you’re having a hard day, or if you aren’t, she’ll give you a lesson about a way to boost your energy and be more positive. I really recommend this app wether you’re struggling with something or not. this app is so effective, encouraging, and exciting! If you need someone to talk to or someone to help lift your spirits please get this app and share it with your friends. Sayana is something we all need in our lives.

This is a great app for those of us that struggle with anxiety or depression. It gives you the opportunity for short check-ins everyday, which helps keep you accountable for maintaining good habits, rather than just sinking into your anxiety/depression. Lots of good tips here. I love the emphasis on paying attention to your physical responses to anxiety.
Like other reviews have said, the conversations can be a bit limited. That would be the only significant flaw I can point out. From what I can tell though, Sayana seems fairly new, so I think more advanced conversation will come with time.
Overall I love this idea and I can't wait to see how it grows!

I absolutely love Sayana! When I am chatting with this app it feels like I’m talking to a real person! Now they will ask for your age but it’s just to make sure they can ask the appropriate questions. And you don’t have to worry about paying because there are two options, eaither doing the free trial or having it free forever. To have it free for ever you just have to invite 4 friends to download Sayana , then you’re all set! That is what I did and I total enjoy it! After the conversation you have with her you feel mindful and aware. She even gives some advice in there too! So I TOTALT recommend hat you get Sayana! 5 stars!
