I don’t know why I would buy another camera like this. I pay money for the camera and then I have to pay you to use. It sounds pretty stupid to me when I can get a better camera and not have to worry about all that miss seems like to me the world is so greedy that they will do everything they can to make money and scam people out of money. It seems senseless to buy something that I have to pay to use. I bought it now it’s useless paperweight, but I’m gonna bust all the pieces and throw in the garbage already destroyed one of them. I have one more left. I’m going to destroy that too. Apples getting bad. About wanting to charge you a little. Monthly fee to use apps that makes no sense. But that’s Apple. The world is more and more evil and greedy. I’m surprised they don’t charge us to breathe now I’m sure that will probably come soon

The new versions both camera and app are horrible. Can’t playback like it says. Can’t have 128gb SD card it has to be smaller. Night vision doesn’t work. There are no options to change things like the old app and cameras. Unless all these new versions have the bugs fixed, I’ll still with my older versions and older app. Waste of money in my opinion.

Complete junk. Won’t pair to any of its products despite having all the proper WiFi/bluetooth/location/ssn/ASL info/access/capabilities app “needs”/demands. Tried all troubleshooting.
Finally reviewing after latest attempt to pair merkury smart bulb yet again that must be flashing to be in pairing mode. Really thought sticking with it would eventually get me in there but all it did was waste even more of my time and give the gift of a flashing light induced headache.
Any time I’ve tried to search for a topic in “help” section screen goes white and eventually shows some tiny sketchy I assume error icon/picture/scribble?
Why does it have to be difficult?

Nothing about MerkurySmart or service is based in the United States of America other than distribution to megastores. The only contact you can receive is to be put in line on a queue to be called back from a call center in the Philippines. A situation occurred where I needed to rely on the services. Premium subscription purchased. Account verified on website as paid. The only access I had were live feed to the cameras themselves. could not retrieve any footage or captures whatsoever. Representative on phone could offer very little to zero solutions or help other than “rest assured” the situation will be handled. It won’t. I attempted to delete my account all together only to be met with and error “OPPS, Something went wrong, please try again later.” With a Merkury logo on the page. 7 days as I am writing this. 7 days and still zero solutions other than. “We will pass this along”. This service offers absolutely ZERO security and I am downright baffled it has this many high reviews

The two cameras were working fine for two weeks, and then all of a sudden the live view is not available. I have tried resetting, restarting, plugging and unplugging the camera, and it worked a couple of times, but then it reverted back to not giving me live view video despite being connected to the internet and the camera status showing as “online.” And tech support is nowhere to be found! You get what you pay for!

Got 2 smart cameras and paired them up to MerkurySmart . After about 5-10 minutes the two devices unpaired and would not pair again. Resetting them did not work, unplugging them and plugging them back in did not work. I ended up having to return the cameras, and then MerkurySmart would not give me an option to cancel my subscription. Hopefully their customer service actually responds quickly and cancels it for me. But I absolutely do not recommend these products.

Really disappointed for the overall app, website & camera quality. The camera in its self is… okay I guess. But you do have to pay a subscription for it to actually be useful as a security camera.

It’s incredibly difficult to try and cancel your subscription, especially because both the website, app, and customer support are inefficient and difficult to navigate. There are so many other ways to streamline your app, why are you making it so complicated?

Furthermore, trying to change your password, or god forbid you forget it, it’s nearly impossible. When submitting your email to get a password reset, you never get the email. At least I haven’t and it been almost a week. When seeking help from customer support, I was giving just the info from the support site, which I had previously stated did not help me.

There’s better options for a better price. Save your time & money.

I bought the light strip, not knowing I would have to install an app. I thought these all were just controlled by a remote. Upon installing app I have to give them access to location or else MerkurySmart somehow won’t function. Not sure why, all the strip does is give off a Bluetooth signal. In no way does MerkurySmart need your location settings to connect. I myself have brought the lights back and bought some with a remote.

I have written to Support sent a video of MerkurySmart crashing trying to reinstall it and now I can’t get location services on it. If MerkurySmart isn’t going to be fixed, then people should really get their money refunded at this point. It is incredibly frustrating working on something for hours and the same thing happens over and over again. Anyone out there looking to buy a camera don’t buy this one. It’s a waste of money and it’s not even heavy enough to be a paperweight!

I have 3 smart lightbulbs. At least 1 of the lightbulbs won't turn on at the time it's supposed to so I have to turn it on manually. This happens 1 out of 7 days a week on average. Also, I only have the living room lightbulb set to 40% brightness but for some reason, during the automation, both the living room and the patio lightbulb will be 40%. This happens 6 out of 7 days a week on average. I don't know if it's MerkurySmart or the product but I don't appreciate coming home to a house with lights not working the way I want them to.

**I don’t recommend this product or anything they make to anyone. Hard to connect and hard to understand customer service and vice versa. I bought 4 totaling almost $50 and ended up throwing them away. I had my receipt but not the packaging. Was a waste of time putting them up taking them down and a waste of money buying them this was the 2nd time I tried their products and same thing so lesson learned. I’m good save your money though and time

I have 2 of the older (4 months) cameras and the older app. It works great I have hardly had a problem out of them. I decide to try 2 of the newer style with the new app. (Only because I couldn’t find the others for sale anywhere)
MerkurySmart is terrible to navigate, the camera wouldn’t stay online. Even though it said it was online. I had to restart it 4 or 5 times. Actually pushing a button on the camera by the way. This was maybe a week at the very most. Had motion set up to take video, but didn’t see one video at all. A single picture every hour on the hour was all that was captured. Will be getting rid of the new cameras and keeping my older ones. Hopefully will be able to find one or 2 more, given that Merkury doesn’t change the original Geeni app.

I was able to get MerkurySmart to work once before and now I’m sending it won’t so I uninstall it went to reinstall it the first time it took me two hours the second time I’m still unable to install. I’m not wasting another two hours. I’m going to return the product.

The Geeni app is way better than this one. It was very frustrating to pair my device to the cam which took over an hour of searching online for a solution. Worst of all, they want you to subscribe in order to view the pics or recording in a bigger size. It is my biggest regret of purchasing their newest product. Never again.

The real mercury hardware app is under The name “Geeni” The official Mercury camera and security app. As well as MerkurySmart that controls your household devices like your dimmer, switch, your pet camera, your LED light sin, things of that nature. Please do not go to MerkurySmart thinking you’ve downloaded the one that is supposed to be downloaded with the official mercury software this is not they are trying to get you in customer service to ask you a bunch of questions that are personal in order to expose you to some type of fraud or scam. Sorry.

I went to set up first device, led strip light, and MerkurySmart kept telling me to connect to a 2.4g hertz network but I already was connected. If MerkurySmart can’t figure out I am connected to the right type of network then it shouldn’t be so forceful. If I can’t get this figured out then I will be forced to return the product because of MerkurySmart and not the product itself.

The camera is God awful. If I would have known connectivity would be an issue I’d never have bought the thing. I’ve a camera at my front door that runs on the same internet as this one. It’s never disconnected nor has it ever gave me any issues. It’s not my internet because I’ve got gigabit internet. It’s the camera itself; don’t buy and if you’ve already bought it. Return it before your 30 days return policy is up.

Already purchase 2 cameras with the other app. Then we decide, “hey let’s get one for the porch.” I notice they got this white one at Walmart. We spend 40 dollars for this junk just for it to tell us it won’t even give us motion detection unless we subscribe to a plan. So I try to subscribe to this plan and MerkurySmart has no way to let me, just says to “visit our website” so I do that, and guess what? The website takes me back to MerkurySmart !! I don’t know how anyone else managed to get a subscription but this is nearly impossible for me to do. I don’t even know the price of this plan yet I still want to purchase it just so I can see who is accessing my mailbox!

Fixxx MerkurySmart (: and the quality is awful. If you just purchased this camera just put it back in the box and get a refund.

I bought 28 different devices that use the Geeni App. I then bought 14 of these cameras to use all within the same app as the name and company is the same, setting beside the 1080 version only to find out they won’t add to my mercury app I’ve been using, why is this? So I’m out 252 dollars total if I don’t use all the cameras I opened, mounted, and set up, then another 380 to go back and purchase ones that work with the other geeni mercury app. Maybe don’t write POWERED BY THE GEENI APP on the stupid box if it’s nothing but a huge lie, because this isn’t the geeni app. I feel like I purchased a product and was completely lied to by the packaging stating untrue facts. Be aware

Don’t waste your money and if you did, like I did, then I’m sorry and go return these cameras before you can’t return them anymore. It’s just a scam for some Chinese company to take your money for crappy cameras that have awful audio and don’t have a “cloud” even though they claim to. The customer service is awful it takes 2-3 weeks to get an EMAIL response and in the email all they do is repeat what the FAQ’s tell you to do. This company is useless, these cameras are useless. Just go buy a google camera or a ring camera anything else, even wish cameras, are better than these

I bought this to watch my elderly mother was I was away in college but the user interface is horrible, along with them, trying to forcefully persuade you into a monthly subscription. You’re better off buying a WebCam or the ring system. Everybody wants to charge description but do not want to provide quality to the product. I did and asked for a service I asked for a product to make sure my mother didn’t fall again. There is a special hot place for greedy people.

I tried to connect the cameras to my other geeni app which contains my Merkury 720 cameras and it wouldn’t not allow me connect to MerkurySmart . This is terrible I even tried to connect my 720 to MerkurySmart and still nothing. There is a button which says select other device to connect and it won’t allow you to access that. Why can’t you connect devices if they are made by the same company I do not understand that at all. I rate this a 1 star because I was expecting a lot more from geeni and I am very disappointed.

Please do not get anything from these people. It always disconnects from my phone so I am always scared to change the lights. Then when I do go to change my lights, the colors don't change. One time I was figuring out the buttons and it got stuck on a mode where the colors flash constantly and it would not turn off. It was extremely overstimulating and I had to unplug it. Sometimes the lights turn off out of no where and only at night time might I ask. Do not buy from these people!!

I use a lot of Merkury in my house from smart plugs to lights to cameras.
This new camera uses a totally different app, you can setup motion sensors and it will take pictures. You can record 20 second and take pictures while viewing the camera. BUT…. You have to pay for a plan to view any of the recordings or pictures? Don’t have to with the older cameras they have. I can’t even save the pictures or recordings to my phone. This new app is trash and the UI is not user friendly.

The customer service seems none existent. I emailed once and didn’t get a response at all. Emailed a second time and it was like they never read what i said and just sent me FAQ links.
The device itself doesn’t always record events and will stop recording for a whole day or more with no obvious reason. Not following the rules we built in for it either. Overall not great

It is not a wonder why you cannot find their items for sale anymore. Merkury always has had glitches and problems with their smarthome products, but a new app for a single “new” product is pure garbage. Now I have to use two apps to run cameras from the same company? Figure it out, turkeys. All the problems noted by other consumers and nothing making any of their products better. Just more buy, buy, buy. But at this rate it will be far much more like, “bye, bye, bye.”

i dont know why, but the smart lights doesnt coneect at the first and always need to pair them with an alternative pairing system. kinda anoying when you have more than 1 bulb in the same circuit cause you cannot reset one without resetting all of them. ALSO, i've changed my phone 2 times this year, and i cant understand why if the deveices are in my account, connected to internet and "synchronized" when i log in in a new phone i have to pair all deveices again...

MerkurySmart needs an update I believe the cameras are fine. It just has issues sending the notifications when it detects movement, even with the correct settings on it. It may be a bug with the notification settings.. also the activity log, the log for the detection recordings, is bugging sometimes you’ll see your previous recordings and sometimes it won’t be there. Please update MerkurySmart and the camera so it can work smoothly!!

You should have Live Video available on main screen. I am able to see what was captured on each camera in the last 10 minutes but not the option of viewing all three LIVE at one time.

MerkurySmart itself works great but you must buy a plan to watch what the camera records. For some unknown reason every time I try to purchase the plan it tells me unexpected error contact support but there is no support I’m guessing cause there is no way to talk to someone even through the help chat no one responds.

Would be great to have the option to add or change the email for the account when The account is created with apple or with Google. It’s also necessary to be able to have the option to get sent a password reset email in order to create a password for when the account is created by default with apple or Google without a set password. MerkurySmart lags in creating detections and notifications for the auto detect smart feature.

Not to difficult to setup but a longer power cord would be nice. Instructions on how to view camera is not there . But I figured it out

MerkurySmart is very easy to navigate and also has great quality picture with just an update. It doesn’t send a lot of notifications but if it is offline it will. Convenient depending on what you are monitoring.

At first I had problems connecting my camera Wi-Fi an app together, but customer service stayed on the phone with me about 30 or 45 minutes to straighten the problem out. Since you and I have had no trouble and I’m very satisfied with this camera.

I just started using MerkurySmart for my led light strip so far it hasn’t given me any issue. Everything on here is perfect. Very simple to setup and use.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So far this camera app has worked amazingly. It was a cheap price and I highly recommend it.

This product is excellent and works like a charm and easy to set up. I’m going to buy 4 more before they are all gone. Please send me a coupon ..lolol

Keep finding my self wasting 15 to 30 mins a day trying to get them to sync properly pretty frustrating product to say the least. Starting a few on wasting my time on these novelty items.

I love the sound the camera makes when the camera pairs. Really great app.

Man this is the best investment I ever bought! I like how the quality of the camera is; it’s not blurry at all! It give you the sense of feeling like you’re there in real time. My only concern is sometimes I loose connection; but then again that might be where I’m at when I’m out an about.
