Read the developers response. Seems the functions it allows are (1) buying a Deutschland ticket with PayPal and (2) buying a Deutschland ticket for others. Seems worthwhile but should be more clearly stated in DeutschlandticketApp description that THAT is the difference.

You can easily buy a Deutschland ticket at bahn.de. It is a digital ticket with a QR code that you get immediately. What does DeutschlandticketApp do that is better than that? Open to changing my review but don’t get the utility yet.
