Makerbot updated their site (it’s a lot more usable now), but Thingiverse was not updated and the search function only returns one Thing created by “(null)” and has no information, despite the number of results it potentially has. UI is navigation is cumbersome with no clear way to return to the main menu. Featured things doesn’t appear to have been really updated in months. I expected Thingiverse to be updated soon after the site was, but it appears not. Hopefully they do soon; I enjoyed being able to look for and collect stuff to print spur of the moment when I’m not home.

I love Thingiverse and would completely recommend it to anyone who does 3D printing or 3D modeling because its mobile this app but a few weeks ago it just stopped working I’m guessing that they decided they didn’t want maintain Thingiverse anymore so they just stopped which is a shame I’m not a professional 3D printer person or anything but i love to 3D print and Thingiverse made it easy that when I’m not at home on my computer i could quickly open up and find a model that i need and save so i can print it later so I don’t forget about it and. Know i can use the website on my phone still but Thingiverse made it so much more convenient and now I can’t do it as well if it worked i would recommend it to anybody but since it stopped its just dumb

this app as a platform is fantastic. However, Thingiverse is pathetic in comparison. You’ll notice the only update in the past 4 years is to add support for the iPhone X screen size. That’s how neglected Thingiverse is.

There are several bugs and glitches in addition to missing features from the website. Search is buggy, you can’t collect a thing into a specific collection (even though you can view your collections), you can’t share things via the share sheet, etc. It looks like they spent just enough time building Thingiverse to be able to say they have one and then forgot about it ever since.

it’s been a year since Thingiverse has been updated, and changed to their website has broken their own app since then. Basically all you can do now is browse whatever things they’re featuring, you can’t search the millions of things people have uploaded onto the site. You’re better off browsing the site through an actual browser. It’s a shame cause this app has huge market dominance as an stl repository, but they’ve really dropped the ball on developing an app. Once someone does, i get the feeling that content creators will start to abandon ship.

Surprisingly bad on an iPad. In the maker app space you would think the iPad would be more natural device (pen support, large display while still being mobile, etc) Thingiverse is surprisingly bad. Granted they don’t claim iPad support, just iPhone, but any app that has had a minimum of care and feeding over the last 5 years should support both. Thingiverse sadly has had no love, no support. One update to support newer iPhones in the last 5 years, and it shows. Continue to use this app’s website, just don’t bother with Thingiverse (on any device).

I love this app and use it all the time to upload objects and to print. However, Thingiverse leaves me frustrated constantly. I would love to post makes using my phone but there are soo many bugs, glitches, and crashes on iOS that it’s impossible to use effectively. There are many prints I would upload if it would work. Please either remove Thingiverse from Thingiverse Store or support Thingiverse with regular updates to address the many problems. this app is such a great platform through the computer but please support the mobile platform too! It has the potential to be a must have app for anyone who has a 3d printer but at the moment it’s not up to snuff.

Thingiverse has loads of potential to be a very cool way to keep up on not only 3D designs but the forum system as well but it doesn't as of right now. Right now there is no search function to help sort through designs for what you are looking for. It also gives you updates on things going on in the forums but when you attempt to access the forums by tapping them nothing happens. The forums don't work at all... hopefully they fix it as it could be an amazing app.

The website went from bad to worst, and it keeps on getting worst. I was hoping Thingiverse would provide some of the functionality of the old website, but I was disappointed. It definitely works if you want to browse postings, but if I want to add something to a specific collection, I am not given a choice, everything goes to the default collection. Such a basic function of the website, but missing on Thingiverse , enough said.

To sum it all up Thingiverse is bad, there is no reason really for you to have an account , use the online version to do all your downloading. Thingiverse takes forever to load and when it finally loads you are presented with 1 maybe 2 things and have to wait for the rest to load in. And we don’t need a mobile app to download our files. I didn’t give Thingiverse a fair chance because I didn’t feel like waiting for it to load while watching my hair turn gray.

Thingiverse has always sucked, it’s always had glitches and bugs that were infuriating. But now I can’t even search for anything. When I do it tells me the correct number of results but only one shows up, it is completely blank though. It would be nice if the devs could put an ounce of effort back into Thingiverse, I’m not the only one with this problem. I’ve spoken to others and they agree that Thingiverse is now useless.

Could you guys please update Thingiverse? I love this app with a passion! but it drives me crazy how well it doesn’t work on my iPhone XS Max, the most frustrating thing is this search bar, to me what good is browsing for what you need if you can’t search for it! every time I search it tells me it found hundreds of items but all it shows is 1 item titled null and so I click on it and it doesn’t load anything....ever! until I eventually get frustrated waiting and just go to my desktop because I’m tired of waiting on nothing, can anybody help this issue

I was excited to find out that this app had an app. I liked that I could log in, find things that I wanted to make later, save them and pull them up on my desktop under favorites to slice and print. The problem now is that Thingiverse does not allow me to search, after having Thingiverse for a while and having the functionality previously it is very frustrating . Every time I use the search bar it returns empty results. More or less Thingiverse is useless for how I would use it now. Was a decent app before with its quirks, now it doesn’t even work.

Pros:
Easily post anything. Thingiverse does this right you hit post in the tip right and click which type of post but on the website you have to almost jump through hoops this is the only reason I didn’t give 1 star
Cons:
Uploading: as I said it’s easy to post but it’s buggy actually uploading your post I can have full LTE coverage and every other app work but I can’t actually upload for some reason
App design: overall it’s just poor design my home page is half blank this should be a great app and I can really see how the developers intended to give Thingiverse a social media feel and I like it that way but it feels incomplete.

So I used your website a lot since I got a printer and have made countless prints off of it. So I was a bit excited to learn that this app was made into an APP. There are some thing I would like to constructively criticize. Or something like that. But one major feature I saw missing was a search bar for looking up things and designs. And I do love the idea of a whole separate app for this community. Another thing is when you first open Thingiverse there should be an option to create an account too instead of just signing in. I love this app and I can’t wait to see how Thingiverse develops and what it’ll grow into. I hope this helps and thanks for reading this

I was so excited when I saw there was an app and have spent the last 2 weeks trying to get over all of the bugs and lack of information options. When your looking at a thing and try to go back into your search results the screen only goes half way back and your stuck guessing what everything is for the rest of your search. The License tabs NEVER works, and there is no way to get from Thingiverse to the web page to look up all of the information you can’t find in Thingiverse . Great potential but very frustrating as is.

Thingiverse is great for sharing files and it is free. Just wish Thingiverse ran faster, smoother, and was a little more user friendly. I find that it is difficult to find true stats on users that liked and collected my designs. I hope the owners put a little more effort into making Thingiverse and their website truly great. I would even be willing to pay a small fee to use if it meant a faster and more intuitive app and website. Just know that I do appreciate it.

Easy to open and explore items, add to collections, like, upload pictures, etc.
Needs fixing a few things - can’t view forum topics (group discussion threads show up but cannot open them), and the on-demand loading of items when you scroll to the bottom of the list is finicky - it often loads three times and moves the scroll down and you lose your place.

Love Thingiverse! If you are into 3D printing, weather you own a printer or not, you will love Thingiverse. this app is an online community of 3D printer and 3D design lovers, all of which are sharing their designs with you! I have found so many cool designs: airsoft pistols, self-watering plant pots, carabiners, and so many more designs! You can also publicize your own designs and get feedback, likes and support on your design! It's great! Let's you download designs in Zip, Obj, and Stl files as well. 5 Stars!!

Thingiverse is amazing. It's great how are you can sync up your app with the website itself. The only problem is that you can not view your designs in 3D. Don't pay attention to the people who say Thingiverse is worthless because they are a bunch of non-designers who don't have anything to do with the 3D Printing community. Even if you don't know anything about 3D printing, you can still benefit from other's designs.

Thingiverse makes it easy for me to take pictures of my 3D prints with my phone, then quickly post them with a short description to the this app.
Allowing me to get my designs online quick, easy sharing to all my social accounts, & gets me right back to 3D Designing/Printing!
Another thing that is awesome is you can view everything on the site and save it to a category you can specify. When you change what your looking for you can change the category it is saved to then when it's time to print the models are easy to find!
