BEWARE! They advertise a “31-Day Money Back Guarantee” on the front page of their website, but they do NOT honor it. Also, there is no way to simply cancel service. You have to submit a help desk ticket to cancel service, but they won’t cancel your service. I submitted a ticket requesting cancellation 1 day after starting service due to its slowness. The only thing they do is turn off autopay. Repeated attempts to get a refund have failed. This is a company that you do NOT want to trust your data with since they won’t even honor what they advertise. And when you don’t honor what you advertise for the purpose of deception and financial gain then it’s called fraud! Stay far, far away from these fraudsters.

Just got back from a visit to China. Bought PureVPN hoping I could keep in touch with friends and family, use Facebook, etc. PureVPN worked for about 30 minutes, then I could never connect again. Emailed them and received a reply with some complicated instructions on settings, I asked for refund but never got it. Downloaded Express VPN and never had one problem connecting easily. Don’t waste your time and money, just get Express because it works and this one doesn’t, at least not in China. (Unless you are a techie person who likes fiddling with settings for a couple hours instead of just pushing one button.)

In June 2017 I purchased thos app.
In the 9 months I've had it, it has worked 3 times. Only once without having to contact their tech support to redo something in the settings.
I don't use PureVPN regularly as life happens.

A couple months ago, I went to use PureVPN and it again wouldn't connect. I also noticed the location I use for the VPN was no longer on the list.
I contacted this app tech support I was told I needed to upgrade to their Premium account.
I inquired why since I was already paying monthly with PureVPN . I never received an answer.

Life again happened and time passed.
Today I contacted this app to find out what is going on.
I was told that my account expired in September. They stated they haven't received payment from Apple since August 2017. Which isn't true.
I was charged nonetheless every month since June 2017 with apparently no service since Sept 2017. I have proof I had been charged and proof of payment made. They told me I had to take it up with Apple. Apple only refunded two months back to me.
Beware of this company. If you purchase PureVPN there is no guarantee they will honor the agreement with Apple and you the consumer.
I am skeptical of any subscriptions made via PureVPN store at this point. There is little protection or guarantees for service or refund to the consumer.
Disappointed.

I used this app for years with no issues. Last year (circa Sept 2019) I wasn’t able to login regardless of what I have tried. I thought my subscription must’ve expired so I paid for another 3 years. I was able to login... yet a few days later when I logged into my account I realized that I had two active accounts!! The first one did not expire and now the second one was added. I didn’t bother following up, but now PureVPN is totally useless!! I cannot connect to any country, and when and if I use the quick connect, it -once in a while- connects but then I cannot bring up ANY site! I emailed support and they recommended a few things but nothing worked. I simply gave up and downloaded a free vpn app which I am now using successfully (although I have to endure the ads!) This should be a case study on how to destroy a great product by upgrades..

2022 UPDATE - App developer response says contact support as more detail is needed. I have been going back and forth with this app support for weeks now - and the issue continues to be either ignored, intentionally rephrased as so something else - and no me tionas to why PurrVPN now REQUIREs an AppleID? Maddening.

2022 UPDATE While this app has gotten better, the iOS software now REQUIRES an extra link attached to an Apple ID to access PureVPN . Yep, a VPN that now forces an Apple ID sign in. When concerns were shared about this nee requirement, support responds by suggesting customers create another Apple ID for this purpose. ——- 1) Requires manually connecting after device sleeps. ALWAYS have to manually connect. Huge PIA quickly. 2) Most tech support chats result in "delete and reinstall PureVPN " or instructions to manually configure OpenVPN. Support is off-shore btw. 3) Too many taps to turn on or change locations. No Today shortcuts for example. 4) May not work with your cell provider ... and support does not know what to do to address.

None of your information is private or secured this company take your money for nothing there services are fake. And don’t fall for the dedicated IP that you think you might be buying I spoke via chat and via email to 12 different customer service and technical support representatives and none of them provided me my dedicated IP information and none of them were able to get it to work because that also is also a fave service. They couldn’t offer it to me because they didn’t really have it to offer to begin with this company will soon go under because they will be found out soon enough I am going to post my screenshots on every forum regarding VPN I can find. you’ve been warned

The absolute worst vpn I have ever used, it’s hard to connect or stay connected. It takes a long time to connect and that’s if you ever get connected. I used it for many different things but it was absolute nightmare and cause me to lose money from not connecting. And the customer service is just as bad as the connection service. I paid for a 5 year plan, after noticing how bad the connectivity was ( within 30 days) I tried connecting with customer service to get a refund and I couldn’t even get 1 reply back from someone that could solve my request, all I received was this automated messages. I’m only telling you because there is better out there than wasting your money to find out, good luck……

If you’re living outside of China and want to use the China servers, stay away from this VPN company. IT DOES NOT WORK. They advertise to use their China servers to access certain contents only allowed in China but none of their servers work. I contacted 24/7 support but each time I only get a same exact pre-typed response “they’re having issues and are currently working to resolve the issue” for over 2 weeks and when I asked for my money back, they kept asking to wait until they resolve the issue. This company is still trying to sell their service at a huge discount when they know it’s not working. They even changed one of the China mainland servers to Hong Kong as a gimmick but that doesn’t work, stop tying to fool the users. DO NOT GET THIS VPN if you’re trying to get into China servers. FRAUD

I bought this VPN years ago and recently renewed. Has many quirks and stopped working on one of my computers. Tried customer service on several occasions to repair and service, only way is to “chat online”. Being they are from China (strike one) communications is not ideal. VPN on iPhones won’t stay connected. Finally had enough bought a new vpn service and wow everything works with no hang ups. Cancelled the remaining three years of service only to be told “sorry” don’t qualify for a refund. Only then did I get an email asking to show them my problems so they could “recreate the problem” to offer a fix. Being they are based in China think twice before you buy!

I been using this app for over too years now, and I’ve seen slow changes to the product. However, I’m still not please with the product ideas of overwhelming the customer with too many features that’re ineffective to the users experience. What I and other customers need is the consolidation of those many features into a single intuitive experience. In other words, when I turned my phone or devices on I expect this app to automatically activate wherever I my location with all of the features automatically activated. PureVPN connection is unstable and when I turn my devices off or reboot PureVPN I need to manually activated each feature. In addition, this app need to be transparent about the logging of the user’s history. Don’t be like Facebook...

Not worth it. I paid for a year but regret soon.
First, it almost NEVER connect you to the location you choose. When I tried Singapore, it connected me to Pakistan??? I tried 5 times. Same results. Then I tried Beijing, it connect me to Hong Kong. Tried more than 5 times, still the same.
Second, it’s not that stable. You have to check the connection often to make sure you’re not automatically disconnected when it’s operating at backstage.
Think about it before you purchase the membership. If you could live with those, go ahead.

At first it was disconnecting almost every 20-30 minutes . After deleting the configuration it had installed the first time I download PureVPN and deleting the one I had Manually installed in my iPhone settings before I got PureVPN .
I then re down loaded PureVPN and allowed it permission to everything it asked and do it on a fresh setting . It finally worked for about 11 hours before it stop connecting and then I had to disconnect and reconnect again But it worked for a while no problems . So that better then before where it would disconnect every 20-30 minutes .
The thing is that if you loose signal . It will disconnect and be a pain to reconnect so be carful with that and sometimes the server just goes down and you have to re install and you’ll notice it will be on a new server when you do . I give it a 3 . It works but it doesn’t do a good job continuing to work after it looses connection for whatever reason. I have to close , and play with it till I it comes back . Make sure you put always on or sometimes it will
Disconnect and leaks your data .

Thanks this app Developers. I could not change locations and experienced terrible buffering with old this app app. The new this app app has no buffering and now I can change locations. Good job developers. Enjoying the new this app App.

Changed rating to three stars because its been five months and an upgrade, and you did not fix the dedicated VPN problem. Your dedicated VPN disconnects in five minutes on IOS app. You did not fix this after repeated complaints. What good is support if you don't fix the problems. I still cannot us my dedicated VPN on ipad. It permanently disconnects in five minutes.

Interesting. As I try to connect to UK or US servers PureVPN automatically switch to Singapore nodes mostly and sometimes HK ones. The only way to build reliable connections to UK and US is manual setup methods which you have to talk to their agents to get. Frankly speaking, the speed is much faster with manual setup than that with app connection.

Although the iPhone app and Mac app do have some issues connecting when it needs updated, overall updating the version or just logging out and back in fixes 99.9% of my issues. And these issues are very infrequent for me.

It’s a great peace of mind while traveling and I love the “always on” feature on iPhone is great for when your phone wants to connect to previously used passwordless WiFi’s while you pass by. I recommend it to friends and strangers.

I don’t often leave reviews, but the comments I read are so negative and don’t reflect my experience at all. I’ve been able to load PureVPN to all my devices and have been able to connect to every country I’ve tried. I even got an email from their customer service asking if everything was working for me. If things change, I’ll update but so far this is a very good app for the price.

I've been using this app for roughly a year and I have no complaints. Its name says it all world's fastest vpn app. I love the applet for DDWRT. PureVPN for DDWRT is great and it provides amazing settings and configuration ability. As far is iOS app is concerned it works great most of the times . The router and the iOS app are both easy to use and fast, their servers fast as well with no lags. There is no lag whatsoever. The money i am paying is well worth compared to other providers and their manual configurations which is always a hassel.

I signed up with Pure VPN a few years ago, in that time I’ve seen really good improvements. They have a really nice updated app now, and it’s easy to use, shows connection data that some may appreciate more than it just working well & being reliable.

Even with streaming video, using in (US) or out of country servers (Romania, UK, Australia, Russia, & others), Pure VPN is great. No stuttering or artifacted video. If the internet served is bad, VPN can’t fix that.

I have used other VPN service, only a few more than at a time. Pure is the only one I’ve used long term, and I’m thoroughly impressed.

I don’t do many reviews on apps - I’ve used this VPN for over a year now after I left whatever provider I was using before because of some shady behavior or maybe a Netflix issue I don’t recall.

Look PureVPN and service are an excellent value, but what prompted me to write this review was coming upon the listing in the store and seeing the latest update notes. They are ACTUAL UPDATE NOTES, not “blah blah generic bug fixes” nonsense.

Listen carefully - people/companies that take the time to do such things are the ones who actually give a crap about the user experience - they respect their customers and honor their time and money by treating them as adults. REWARD when you see stuff like this because it’s getting RARER AND RARER!

I’ve been using this device for about 3 years now and I must say that it is the best it has been. If I lose cell connectivity with my VPN on, when it comes back up, my VPN automatically activates. It is sometimes slower than WiFi/cell service, but not markedly so. It has gotten a lot better from when I first joined. Definitely worth continued use.

Bought PureVPN because of good review in an article I read. Big mistake. PureVPN often logs off of the VPN without any notification which defeats the purpose of PureVPN . If you use the On Demand VPN feature it goes in an infinite loop of asking for your login and password only to reject them and ask for it again. My only remedy was to power down and delete PureVPN off my iPhone since it turned it into a brick.

Customer service was less than helpful and was more interested in having me troubleshoot to help them debug their app. I’m a customer, not your QA department. as far as refunds they generously offered 1/3 refund after less than a month of frustration trying to get PureVPN to function properly.

DO. NOT. BUY THIS HORRIBLE APP.

Update: puh-lease. Same Cut-n-paste response to every review saying this product is garbage.

Purchased about 9 months ago. I use PureVPN for iMac, iPad, Kodi, and Win 10 OS’s. Initially a few config issues but their 24/7/ live chat support was quickly available, patient and competent. I was even able to use it in China (PRC) to access my Gmail. Another positive aspect is their continuous improvements on multiple platforms, and many server locations.

Extremely easy setup. Stable connections to any country I choose. Best of all, they have fantastic tech support! I recently had an issue with my service, submitted a tech request and had an answer within the hour from the this app support! A VPN is only beneficial when it works correctly and the folks at this app will keep you connected at great speeds.
