Almost love at first sight

Where to start? Was getting into it... tried to add a new effect. All it suggests is some crazy $5 A WEEK subscription. Sorry, this is NOT a $260 a year app by any means. Where are the individual effect purchases listed on Pacemaker Store? That’s super reasonable and a pretty awesome business model.

Then I’m getting used to it and getting into it and jamming, then suddenly it jumps to the very beginning of my mix and I’m like what the heck is going on?! Where’s the play head?

Sorry. Pacemaker is so desperately needed... perfect working and functional contrast to the other lead dj app here. Fix the biz model and back button UX mess, and you could win. Do NOT make this a forced subscription for FX. Check reviews of that other app, and you’ll see they get nothing but grief from let down customers. Good luck. Hope you make the right choices. I was seriously ready to give you $10 right off the bat for the FX pack, but can’t even figure out how to do that the UX is so bad. Way to ruin our first date. Don’t want to, but maybe have to move on.

Most expensive app I pay for, is it worth it?

I pay more than any other app for this, $15 every 3 months....and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I load up Pacemaker I am confronted with “Do you like this app? Leave us a review! No? Tell us why!” and have to perform thumb gymnastics to get to the TINY X at the very top right of my 8+ screen. Their blatant disregard of the “In-App Ratings & Reviews” setting in the appstore (and Apple’s lack of enforcement) are very disenchanting for my most expensive app.

I second other reviews about the dismay of the fx being subscription based. I understand the “it costs money to make all the wheels go around and provide our users with a killer app and constant upgrades” mentality but that doesn’t jive with the amount of money the developer makes from sales of the vast and unique data harvested from us users. Not to mention they most likely already have oodles of venture capital...

YES the ui/ux is way slick. However, navigating around users, globals, recommends is a cumbersome nightmare. The inability to adjust the BPMs from track to track is a joke and almost defeats the entire purpose.

WHY ARE THE IPAD APP AND THE IPHONE APP SO RADICALLY DIFFERENT!? The features avail on ipad are sorely needed on the iphone version and vice versa.

Again, for the amount of money I pay, I would expect more.

All these rants aside, I still use Pacemaker and the automix feature does a freakishly good job most of the time.

Subscription really?!?!

I purchased all the effects A few years back and I’ve been enjoying Pacemaker ever since now after this update I somehow cannot use it anymore to DJ I have to have a subscription to DJ while I already had power all the in app of purchases so for you guys to do that and not at least let people that have had this out for years now like stick with that or allow them to have that option which is DJ on that I use app it makes no sense I am very disappointed this is not an any Wayfare and get business I think you guys should consider reading this and changing your policy or just no subscription at least for me and those I have had this out for years now I depend on it since I’m a DJ and I can’t be paying for a subscription I just so dumb when there was no subscription to be paid a few months ago this is what you call innovation progress well I don’t see it I just see it as another way to make more money from us

A Cluster of Bad UI with confusing and pointless features.

I feel like the developers wanted to make a sleek and fluid app UI, which I totally applaud. It’s almost 2020 and ugly apps just aren’t it. That being said, there is an extent to which trying to oversimplify stuff that already works just doesn’t help. Navigating Pacemaker is an absolute NIGHTMARE. Confusing main menus literally make it so hard to find the simplest stuff. I was in the middle of my 300 minute playlist of the Godspeed You! Black Emperor playlist and decided to go looking at other playlists; but when I was scrolling through the laggy and annoyingly heavy-feeling public playlists, it would select a random playlist because it cares more about being a good looking, fundamentally broken, and annoyingly dumbed down app. You guys feel like it is a good idea to restrict so much view space and go for this abomination of an app style. Seriously reconsider.

New 3.0 version is completely unsatisfactory

I have been using Pacemaker and paying for it for the last several years and absolutely loved it. But since this new 3.0 update,I can only access a quarter of the songs from my old mixes. A 60 min playlist is now 15 min long at best. Not only can I not use my mixes anymore but everyone else’s mixes only have about a 1/4 of the songs in them as well. The selection that is available on there now is unsatisfactory to say the least. If this app cannot get access to all of these songs back, I will have to cancel my subscription and use another app such as Rock My Run or Fit Radio instead. Pacemaker created a passion for me in making my own playlists for my classes. I feel like a part of me is lost now without it. Do not get Pacemaker unless they can get the rights back to all of the music they previously had! Make this right this app

Great Idea, Poor Execution

On a surface level, this is a great app. I appreciate the BPM analyzer recommending potential next tracks when building a playlist, and the editing ability (pro subscription) is good. However, for the life of me I cannot understand why - if you were only going to allow playlist creation and editing on one platform - you would choose iPhone over iPad. Maybe the developers are under the impression that “less is more” when it comes to screen real estate, but I’m here to tell you that that is not the case. At all. Very frustrating having to edit on such a small screen - and I have a 6s+! For this reason, I am searching for another (more user friendly) way to edit my playlists. My sausage fingers have had enough with Pacemaker.

What is happening

I am so sad to say that my this app no longer works properly and it appears that I am now being hijacked to pay $4.99/week. It worked fine until I began taking the updates.

I paid for this application over 4 yrs ago and put it on my iPad and iphone but when I go to tap the link to restore purchase it does not work. I am now left with an app that is useless. $4.99 per week is also highway robbery. I have a gig to do in 2 weeks and I am now in panic mode and so terribly sad that supporting them even paying a fee back years ago does not allow me continued usage. I’ve even sent in fantastic feedback as a deejay and music curator respected the world over for my achievements in the world of soulful dance music. I am one of 11,500 voting members for The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and signed developed and released a body of of music of 1000 singles and 80 LP’s Licenced signed and appreciated the world over.

There’s no way for me to even contact customer support when the application opens up as well.

Hopefully someone reads this at the company and does the right thing here reinstating my original purpose.

Good app

Though I wish it worked with Apple Music (which I know is beyond the developers’ control and is the same for all these types of apps) Pacemaker is definitely the best of its kind. That being said there are various glitches, like sometimes it plays the songs as if they have been mixed but doesn’t show that they have been and doesn’t allow you to move the tracks and edit them; restarting Pacemaker usually fixes this but not always. Also I wish there was an easier way to choose the order of the tracks rather than scrolling endlessly, and I wish that you could import a whole playlist in the order that the playlist is in rather than mixing a few songs from it.

Long Time User Cancelled

I’ve been a long time user and absolutely loved Pacemaker. Unfortunately the price has just sky rocketed. In that process Pacemaker hasn’t been made that much better. This costs more than what I pay for Apple Music for my entire family and Apple Music has way more music. If Pacemaker was better, like consistent across iPad and iPhone, AND if I could stream my mix tapes via Apple Watch it might be worth the price. The only thing the Apple Watch is good for is a remote control to your phone, which it’s been like this for years. Make the Apple Watch stream the mixes so I can use this expensive app when I go on runs and I might consider the cost. I pay for an entire office suite from Microsoft for less. It’s just too expensive.

Pretty amazing app (for me)

I saw Pacemaker a long time ago while scrolling through story’s on Instagram, and I thought nothing of it. This time I saw it again, and I thought “hmm, maybe I should just give it a try”. Well dam is it amazing! It may be a little hard to understand how things work at first, But it’s easy to figure out. So nothing to bad. I already made a 3 1/2 hour mix of songs I love! This is a game changer for me and my friends who want a homemade radio station type vibe. And I mean can we talk about the transitions!
👌🏽😩 honestly for me they’re amazing! What can I say, 5 stars my friend.

You need some serious updates

I’m a set it and forget it type of guy. With that being said I purchased Pacemaker so I could make kill playlists with the feel of a DJ controlling everything. Using Pacemaker started of as a good thing but as of late as I’ve been using Pacemaker the playlists have been crashing halfway at random spots and cutting short of the playlist times.
Since use Pacemaker for my group fitness classes these crashes in Pacemaker makes for uncomfortable silences at points in the class in which the energy from the music is needed most. I’ve tried emailing support but they don’t seem to really care. If this continues to be the case and updates aren’t made to solve this problem then I will have no issue with cancelling my subscription.

This used to be a good application.

As a completely blind person who is a DJ, are used to love Pacemaker. Granted, manually mixing on other apps is doable on the iPhone, but without any physical controller in my hand, it was more difficult. Pacemaker was even smart enough to change the EQ of the tracks depending on what part was playing. It was even smart enough to cut the tracks off at the exact times, just like a normal DJ would. However, The update that brought this social features to Pacemaker has completely ruined the accessibility, therefore making Pacemaker completely useless to people like me. And that was over two years ago, and it has not been fixed. Please make Pacemaker accessible again as soon as possible. I actually depended on your app whenever I was too tired to mix myself.

Disappointed with performance

I have been a this app subscriber for more than three years. When many of my playlists lost many songs, I loved Pacemaker so much I figured out could make it work.

In the last week however, the performance is Pacemaker is dismal. It will not pull up tracks in my library it it takes FOREVER to pull them up. My phone and Pacemaker are all updated so I know that is not the problem. The search feature for tracks is also horrible. This is incredibly disappointing given that most members are losing a lot of tracks. Now we have a subpar app to deal with too. I’ll give it a few more weeks, and if it doesn’t improve, a subpar app and subpar tracks give me no reason to spend money on it anymore.

Great for exercising!!!

I use Pacemaker at the gym and while running. I can load any of my iTunes playlists of individual tracks and it's like a DJ is mixing my playlist for me. Granted the transitions from track to track aren't always that great, but other times the transitions are amazing! No more downtime while tracks are ending and starting. The intensity of my runs and work outs has drastically increased because of Pacemaker.

Some options I'd like to see and even be willing to pay for are...
1.the ability to rate a transition so Pacemaker can learn when it's working well and when it's not.
2.When I'm in the lock out screen and I hit the next track button it jumps the current song ahead to where Pacemaker was planning on mixing the next track instead of forcing the mix at that point like it will do when inside Pacemaker .

Again, love Pacemaker even though I don't use it for its intended purpose.

There’s no point in buying this

When I was getting it it was free so ya know I thought it was gonna be free I could make some pretty good music and mashups but when I loaded in it was just a stupid scam that I had to pay 7.99$ for per month for no reason it’s nothing so idk why I have to pay for it at least just make it free to use and have it free where we could use it there are just some features that require payment instead of making the whole app 7.99$ for nothing

Top in Its Class

this app is a very cool app. Better than Pyro (IMHO). Will it replace Traktor or DJ Pro? No. However, if you want to throw together a nice mix tape for the workout, party, or road trip then this is a fun And easy app to use. The graphics are great.
I love the community of mixers! I can always find excellent mix tapes.
If this could detect bars and phrases of tracks, it would be out of this world.
$4.95/week is a little steep. Especially since traktor costs around $150.
The ability to export the track list would be awesome!

Money grabbing in effect now

Imagine: having a customer pay $40 a year for Pacemaker , and it works well for over 5 years. Then they decide to go for the cash crab and increase it to almost $200 a year and making it WORSE! That’s what they’ve done to Pacemaker. And if you’ve got a yearly plan, Pacemaker (after asking for a while) just wholesale switches you to the new option (where you can’t sync songs from your library EVEN if you have Apple Music, nexuses the old subscription hasn’t ended and you can’t pay for the new one yet).

Just a disaster. Almost like they “Whedonized” Pacemaker , like Joss Whedon totally destroyed a great movie like Justice League.

Avoid! And this is coming from a former supporter and promoter of Pacemaker.

A few “great” things about the new update

Update 3.0 was amazing I really loved these features:
- you can no longer play 99% of your songs
- you have to pay for this app + to do anything now
- Previously purchased effects from way back to before + are no longer usable without paying for a premium service (because you can’t use Pacemaker without a subscription)
- Pacemaker is slower than slow
- hopefully you want to pay 5 dollars a week to listen to like 10 percent of your previously made playlists!

This update really knocked it out of the park! Great job!

What the heck happened to Pacemaker. There is NO reason that I shouldn’t be able to use this app like I have been for the past 4 years. I paid for the ability to use features in Pacemaker and now I can’t even use those features without paying for a subscription. These guys are crooks. It doesn’t really matter though because even if I could still use Pacemaker without paying 20 bucks a month they quit supporting like 99% of there music anyway. Overall do not download.

Buggy

Hi, ive been playing with Pacemaker for a while now and I loce it. But if I'm going to pay this much for it, I would really appreciate if you guys could squash at least most of the bugs. On my iPhone 12, I have experienced spontaneous crashes, the scrubber completely ignoring me when I touch it with my finger, and most of all, when I add a new song, very often there is not transition that shows up on the timeline and pressing that little lightning button literally does nothing (even when I jam it repeatedly). The fix for all of these issues is always the same, restart the all. But it's frustrating how often I need to do this

Perfect for group fitness

Really cool app! Highly recommend if you’re a trainer who gets to pick their music for fitness classes. Love being able to create my own mixes without an awkward pause and without having to play the entire song. I’ve had multiple problems with my account login information, my app quitting suddenly, or my subscription (even though I paid for a year already). However, I still rate 5 stars because of the amazing customer service/support team.

Using Pacemaker isn’t fun anymore just because of the new technology you’re using. Your team says that the new analyzer technology can’t gather the songs information in the other hand i can’t play with spoty music cause if the net is on push notifications distribs the volume while I’m palying in party. Please make the analyzer work with local musics. It’s getting on my nerves and i have to use other apps that do the same. Please make it happen.

New and Frustrated with No Help fr Pacemaker

I’m new to Apple products and this app. I have painfully and unsuccessfully searched for tutorials and information on how to use my iPod and iPad for this app. I can’t change the bpm on my iPod with this app, but I can sync the bpm on my iPad. I can save a plalylist on my iPod, but I can’t save a playlist or mix on my iPad. I can’t use my iTunes on either because my tracks are now with Apple Music. I purchased the year subscription for an app that is not integrated and does not have the same functionality on the iPod and the iPad! Im frustrated and disappointed that I wasted so much money and time in Pacemaker, the iPod and the iPad.
We have sent emails to this app and have not received any response.

Wow, This is amazing!

I’ve been using Pacemaker to create special mixes for different events such as New Year’s Eve and it killed it! Yes, the transitions may be a little bad sometimes, but an app this great has to have at least one flaw. Other apps you have to pay to use or are just to complicated. But not this one! I’ve been looking for an app like this for awhile, so glad I found this!!!!!!!!

By

Amazing and so much fun!

Pacemaker is so awesome. It seas designed very well and makes it incredibly easy to put seamless mixes together. And if you are more experienced you can really blend some tracks together into something special. I’ve mixed a couple playlists together to use while coaching my Orangetheory Fitness classes and they were a hit! And making mixes can be highly addicting! 🤪🙌🏼

Tempo changer?

Did you take out the tempo feature because that was the only reason I got Pacemaker

Do you think it would be possible to add the tempo changer to the next update??? I don't have an iPad and I find that feature the most useful? I love Pacemaker by the way I just wish it had that one extra feature

Needs to Support Apple Music

This application is mind blowing. It is incredible what it's capable of. My only gripe is that I can't use tracks from Apple Music.
Not sure what it will take, but Pacemaker needs to support Apple Music tracks. Apple, please allow developers to have access to Apple Music tracks for use in fantastic apps like this.
